Hands Down Best of Temple Terrace I normally don’t post reviews but I must in this case I don’t care what you order it’s always Fresh and Hot and The Family themselves are always Super Nice regardless the day they may be having!!! Try it out You will not be disappointed seriously you won’t be.

If the quality of the food never gets worse than it is today, this is our (my family) new favorite spot to get take out. Absolutely amazing! There was NOTHING I didn't like, and I'm quite snobby when it comes to my food. Sweet and sour chicken was perfect; pork fried rice was delicious; egg rolls are divine; shrimp lo mein was something to write home about; and let's not forget the krab Rangoon! Ugh!! So! Dang! Good! The service was amazing as they were incredibly friendly and kind towards myself and my 3 year old son. They got him to giggle and smile and that's not an easy feat! The atmosphere inside was also very homely. You feel like you could enjoy a good meal and not feel rushed, bombarded or out of place. It's definitely a place to stop and try, but, if you live in the area, you might consider making this a new favorite!

Google
I dont like leaving bad reviews for anyone.. the service was great, fast and efficient!! definitely feels like a real family owned business when you come inside. Some of the Food was not great though, i threw away some of the stuff whole had only taken a bite. Burbon chicken was decent and egg rolls were good

Andrea Ramirez

Google
Hands down, 5 stars, 10/10, the best Chinese food in Tampa! I've been coming here for 5 years and their food is always good! There has not been 1 thing me and my picky son have not liked. The family that owns the place are equally phenomenal! I used to live down the street and would come here all the time. I now live 30-40 minutes away and can't come as often, but when I do, they instantly recognize us. They treat you like family and their food is definitely made with love.

Google
Worst takeout I’ve ever paid money for, went on a Monday night for take out on my way home ordered Bourbon chicken, sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken lomein with veggie and wonton soup spent $60 and it was so bad freezer burnt no seasoning nothing marinated the chicken was so stringy from being over cooked like it was the weeks left overs that was reheated three times! We couldn’t eat it I threw the whole dinner away, the egg rolls I thought would have been edible was also the worst I have ever had! Count this place off my places to never eat at again!!!!! We ended up making turkey sandwiches for dinner! Never eat Chinese good on a Monday

Google
Great tasting Asian food! Enjoyed every bite and so did the whole family! We have a basketball team for kids any they couldn’t stop talking about this place! After Bush Gardens it was the best choice! The staff even stayed open a few minutes late to accommodate our whole Family. One sure way to the hearts of our Family is great food and great people. This Asian restaurant has both. Thank you Asian Wok!!

Google
I went to this place about 8 years ago and remembered the food was cooked hot and fresh just as it was yesterday 05-15-2024. I took my brother here for his first time. It did not disappoint one bit. This is a small family owned Chinese restaurant and they serve you like family.

Google
I’ve been coming here for 13 years (yes you read that right) they’ve been for that long, very unassuming family run business. Their taste has been consistent and that is saying something. Amazing and soulful food Definitely try their Indian curry chicken, crab Rangoon and their soup

Yelp
Excellent food and great service. Affordable too for the large portions give. Will be coming back!

Yelp
Asian Wok was such a pleasant surprise! I ordered the bourbon chicken with fried rice, and my husband tried the shrimp and chicken General Tso's Delight with fried rice. We kicked things off with the chicken Rangoon appetizer, and everything came out freshly cooked and full of flavor. The portions were generous, although my husband's dish had a bit of an odd balance--lots of entrée but not much rice. This cozy spot is truly a family-run gem. The mom and dad handle the cooking in the kitchen, while their son and daughter manage the front as waitstaff. Both kids were incredibly polite and attentive, which made the experience even better. With great food and such warm service, we're looking forward to coming back soon!

Yelp
Ordered lunch at the office and had my friend pick it up. 2 things that are hard to achieve with fast food: 1) my food was still hot at the end of the meal, I love that 2) my general tso chicken was actually spicy and flavorful and not plain like some other places have become. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Very good, authentic crispy egg rolls. Quiet, friendly, fast service. Bathroom could us attention.

Yelp
Best in the area! . Would recommend! Only place I go to for Chinese food. ...............
google avatar

Michael A.

Yelp
Everything! Maybe the owners brother in law was cooking but horrible for $20.00. I don't usually complain but this was so egregious on so many fronts that I had to say something!
google avatar

Ron R.

Yelp
This establishment significantly surpasses the standard fare offered by typical Chinese takeout restaurants. The ingredients are consistently fresh, and the flavors are exceptional. As a family-run business, the service is consistently reliable. I highly recommend this establishment.

Lashonda M.

Yelp
Food is always hot and made to order! Very nice customer service. I took my husband there for the first time a few months ago, we stayed there to eat it. The chef came over to ask us how was everything, great food and experience at this restaurant....from then this is the only place he wants to go for this type of food. I definitely recommend Asian Wok

Yelp
Very good Chinese, better than everything else in the neighborhood. Not overly greasy and quality ingredients. I got the general Tso's with fried rice. The chicken was freaking amazing! Super crispy just how I like it- as for the sauce it was thick and just the right amount of spicy. The fried rice thought it was perfectly cooked was disappointing only due to the fact that it did not carry carrots and onions and peas. Also, a small amount of egg and the pork just sat on top.. The egg roll- lightly fried, was crispy and flaky and Very nicely packed! A very nice size!! The beef Lomein was also good, could used a bit more cabbage and onion for flavor but overall satisfactory! The restaurant was also very clean and the workers and very friendly. My order was ready extremely fast . Will come back soon!!

Kason D.

Yelp
the food tastes great, endless options at good prices, the people are super nice, and they're very fast. 10 / 10

Yelp
First time in 20 years we have gone out to eat Chinese food (I'm not a fan) and picked this one because of the Yelp reviews. They did not disappoint! Hubby had orange chicken and I had bourbon chicken. Both had the combo. I liked his more only because of the spice level. Both were delicious and have Enough for leftovers. Try it. You'll like it!

Yelp
First time customer. Last time customer. Poor, poor quality. We ordered a multitude of items, however, our family of five tried some of the following. 3 pork dumplings. Pasty for steamed. Undercooked for fried. Chicken fried rice, they do not add veggies only 2 pieces of onions. Steamed chicken and veggies( no chicken). General tao chicken. Fried batter with no chicken, smothered in sauce, ridiculous amount of sauce. And the list goes on. Total bill. 70.55 , i left a 10.00 tip. DO NOT go here. I called them. I did not want anything not even a refund and kindly told them, it was the worst Chinese food i have ever bought noone ate it. The kids and adults walked this food to our chickens!!!!

Yelp
We tried this little place for the first time 7 months ago, on the night before I entered a clinical trial at the Moffitt Cancer Center. We were seated by the hostess, who was the owners' middle-school-aged daughter and served by their high-school-aged son. The owners worked the kitchen. For a little hole in the wall place in a shopping center, the menu was large and varied. We ordered hot and sour soup, General Tso's chicken, and a side of fried rice on that night, and all were perfectly prepared. The portions were large for the reasonable price. After traveling extensively in China, we realize that the concept of authentic Chinese food in the USA is difficult. The basic ingredients are just different here. But at Asian Wok, the food was as close to authentic as you can find. At the end of our first visit, we opened our fortune cookies, and mine said "One cannot choose how one will die. One can, however, choose how one will live." Pretty smart cookie, IMO. We return now frequently when I have treatments at Moffitt, and have not been disappointed. The little family who operate the place work hard and live the American Dream. For those who post nasty one-star reviews over a single bad experience, I recommend taking a step back and getting some perspective. I have no doubt that your meal did not meet your expectations, but look at the long hours these nice folks put in 7 days a week and maybe try to exercise a more generous spirit.

Yelp
We have been regular customers for a couple of years now. Please eat here and support this gem of a local family run business! Consistently good food and truly excellent service.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our first experience here. It is a cute little place with dine in eating. All of our food was very good. We ordered appetizers and 5 different entrees. We even had left overs to take home as they served good sized portions. The krab rangoons were very good. I would definitely say to give them a try.
google avatar

Gary S.

Yelp
Yuk! This once nice restaurant has changed, and not for the better. Perhaps, I came on a bad day, but the food was unacceptable. The chicken was so overcooked, probably from multiple reheats in the wok, that you would need a sharp knife to cut it. Bring dental floss for the tough, stringy chicken.
google avatar

Gary R.

Yelp
The place is fairly bare inside but we were greeted by a gracious under 10 year old welcoming us and asking take out or stay in. Service was good, very good menu selections and food was served hot fresh and fast. No issues or complaints.

Yelp
ANOTHER FIND!!! When it comes to take out food I'll prob always post the left overs because I want to enjoy my food hot. LOL But Asian Wok is delicious!! We ordered the Sweet and sour chicken, beef broccoli, pork fried rice, and the hunan beef ( spicy) sooo good! The pork fried rice had good bite size pork pieces very tasty The sweet and sour had the perfect breading and the chicken taste so good. When I picked up my order I was greeted by a little girl she is such a doll and sooooo cute! Definitely will be back to try the lo Mein and chow mein. The egg rolls are amazing too and super big! The food didn't leave us feeling bloated which I loved! Very tasty food! Highly recommend.

Yelp
The food here was very well cooked and packaged. Food was always hot and very tasteful. I love the service. the little lady at the front counter is always courteous and professional. This is definitely my new spot for fast Asian cuisine... And it's right in my own Neighborhood.
google avatar

Yelp
The dining room is open! We stopped at a different place and called another who both only offered carry out. This place had great food and service. Small family restaurant. The food was very fresh and most importantly delicious.

Brian C.

Yelp
Restaurant was clean. Service was outstanding and the food is fantastic. Highly reccomend this place. We dined on combination lo mein, rangoon, steamed pork dumplings, hot and sour soup, wonton soup, and chicken with garlic sauce. So excited that we found our "go to" Asain cuisine restaurant.

Yelp
First time ordering Chinese here in Tampa. A bit surprised by the previous reviews. This place is basic - if you want Chinese food just to check it off your crave list this isn't the worst place. The Crab Rangoon was loaded with cream cheese and did have decent flavor to them. The egg roll was terrible and I do not recommend you feeding it to any one. The chicken and broccoli was good not too salty like you find in most places. The sesame chicken was also pretty good but their pork fried rice was amateur hour. Fried rice usually has some sort of veggies or green onions or something. This was completely simple. Almost like brown rice and pork bits. Yikes!! Over all middle of the road place but I'd go back if I really wanted Chinese and no other place was available. Advice is work on the small details adding a few extras to rice or better egg rolls would have earned 4 stars.

Jendayi R.

Yelp
Excellent and delicious food. Tried it for the first time a few weeks ago. Now I go at least twice a week! The Mongolian beef is very tasty.
google avatar

Pat D.

Yelp
I went to put four stars because I feel like you have to be flawless for five, and then I started thinking about what China Wok could do better and I realized the answer is nothing! The food at China Wok is the best Chinese food I've had in Florida with the exception of Yummy House which is right on par. A lot of places, even ones with very good crab ragoon don't have enough filling in them. You won't have that problem here. These ragoon have the most filing I've ever had, and I've had them several times. They're absolutely fantastic. You can tell this is a family run restaurant if you've ever shown up and been helped by the family's son who can't be much older than 10. Well, this family really cares about their business and the food they serve you their customers because they've been consistently fantastic every single time we've ordered there whether it be pick-up or delivery. If you're in the Temple Terrace area and looking for Chinese food, you won't be disappointed if you go with China Wok!
google avatar

Lisa O.

Yelp
I believe this is family run! Usually there are kids doing their homework at one of the tables! One of the young boys actually answers the phone, runs the cashier and takes phone orders! He's very polite! We usually get the dinner for 4! General Taos chicken, sweet and sour chicken, beef and broccoli, pork fried rice, 4 egg rolls and white rice. Less than $40and feeds my family for two meals! The food is delicious! I love the General Taos chicken! So does my son. The egg rolls aren't anything special. But everything else is very yummy! It's clean and a nice environment! It's been in Temple Terrace for a while and hoping it will stay!
google avatar

Deb H.

Yelp
We just ate at Asian Wok for the first time and really enjoyed our meal. The food was fresh. I ordered Mongolian beef and, since I don't really like spicy food, asked for it to be made not so spicy. My meal was perfect. My husband ordered a beef dish with scallops and he enjoyed his meal as well. The restaurant seemed to be very clean and the staff members wore masks while we were present. The restaurant appears to be family owned with all the family members helping. They provided great service! We will visit again! Thanks for a wonderful dinner.
google avatar

Andrei K.

Yelp
Disgusting food, quite possibly the worst Chinese I've ever had in my life and one of the worst meals of any variety I've ever had. Lo mein is flavorless, dumplings taste like the meat is old and near expiration, and the crab rangoons most likely are entirely made of the lowest quality cream cheese money can buy.

Timothy L.

Yelp
Over all what we had ordered it was as expected compare to other Chinese restaurants! Food did come our really fast and was really hot that you had to let it cool before you could enjoy your meal! But the one disappointment was when the soup came out it had those nasty prepackage fried noodles that are nasty! It would have been five star for me if they had made their own fresh fried noodles for the soups!
google avatar

Mark E.

Yelp
My favorite place for Chinese take-out in Temple Terrace! The almond chicken, chicken Kung POW, and house fried rice is consistently great!
google avatar

Sarah T.

Yelp
We've ordered from here many times. I really really like their gen Tso's chicken. It actually has a little kick to it. The egg rolls are solid. The fried rice, bourbon chicken, and basically everything else we've had there has been good. And delivery is a bonus. Perfect neighborhood Chinese food place!
google avatar

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Every time we order Chinese we order from Asian Wok! The food is the best Chinese food in town. Freshly cooked, great portion sizes, and always ready in a flash. You will not be disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
Maaaaaan, I feel bad giving this place three stars when everyone else is raving about it. But honestly, the service was worth four stars and the food two... so three stars it is. I've been here a few times for take out in the past few months and never been disappointed, so when I needed a quick dinner near USF this seemed like the right choice. This interior is cute and pretty nice inside as far as local Chinese restaurants go. When I came by, it was the beginning of dinner hour and pretty deserted except for people waiting for their orders. I placed my order and the wait was quick. The positives: portions are big, price is affordable, service is friendly and quick. The negatives: the food was.... blah. My pork fried rice was dry and tasteless with maybe 8 mini pieces of pork in it and nothing else. Not appetizing. I'm really low maintenance when it comes to food, so it takes a lot for me not to want to eat something. Oh well. The chicken, egg roll and soup were "okay" but nothing special. The highlight of this experience was watching two carry out patrons enthusiastically trading Pokemon cards (or was it Magic the Gathering?) at one of the tables while I was waiting for my order. I would come again just to see that.
google avatar

Lisa M.

Yelp
This place is amazing....best Chinese take out my boyfriend and I have EVER had! We order from them 1-2 times per week since we moved to Temple Terrace about a month ago. Our faves so far have been: Cashew Chicken (best ever) General Tso's Chicken (delicious) Chicken and Combination Lo Mein (best ever) Crab Rangoon (best ever) Fast delivery, amazing food and friendly service!
google avatar

Beatrice O.

Yelp
Even during the lunch rush, when I order from my office at USF, it's inevitably ready for me by the time I get to Asian Wok. I've always gotten exactly what I ordered, even with special requests like "no baby corn in the soup, please". And the tofu-vegetable soup is a huge, hot quart of delicious for about four bucks. If you haven't been here before, aim for Cici's Pizza and follow the speed bumps along the strip mall; it's toward the 56th Street end of the parking lot. And do try the tofu-vegetable soup even if you also eat meat, because it's really good, really cheap, and really filling. It's not spicy, but that's why you keep your favorite hot sauce handy at your desk, right?
google avatar

Yelp
Been trying to find a good Asian spot in Tampa for 10+ years and I finally found it! Food is always fresh and delicious. Family is kind and friendly. Even with Covid, they are still doing the best job! Highly recommend the hunan chicken (spicy), chicken teriyaki (chicken on a stick), and general tso's chicken!
google avatar

Savannah R.

Yelp
Best hidden gem! We eat here almost every week. This is a great family-owned business and they really do an excellent job with service and food.
google avatar

Arodi C.

Yelp
Great place, ever since the first time we tried it, we keep coming back to it. It's definitely small and not too busy which is nice. We end up ordering takeout from here often as it is now our go-to place.
google avatar

Dilan B.

Yelp
Okay, I gave them a second chance. Still very rude. Not sure what happened, they used to be so great a few years ago. And WTF!? $18 for a small Pepper Steak and large S&S Chicken?! Also, they give you the same amount of sauce with the large order, as with the small - does that make sense? You can't treat me poorly and expect me to keep coming back. I'm not from Philly! If more people had the balls to boycott rudeness and poor service, owners would be FORCED to be more considerate and EARN their money. #EvolveAlready!

Joshua D.

Yelp
Best chinese food in Tampa on god. The crab rangoons slap so hard and the rice is fire.
google avatar

Kylie P.

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite Chinese restaurant. I get the Mapo Tofu every time and sometimes the steamed pork dumplings which are DIVINE. This place is truly a gem! The owners are super friendly and the service is fast. After eating here it's the only Chinese food I ever want!
google avatar

Juliana L.

Yelp
Great food. Nice staff. Good service. Their hours are weird and the schedule changes often. Somedays they are open for lunch and other days they are not. Recommend calling in advance to confirm that they are open.
google avatar

Nathalie S.

Yelp
I ordered a small regular fried rice and I literally ate it all in one sitting because it was soooo good. The best Chinese food place that I have eaten in Tampa thus far. My delivery driver was also very nice.
google avatar

Erica N.

Yelp
Wow!!! Run away & save your money and taste buds!!!! Review.... Kung Po Chicken - slimy chicken bits (yep they were small not even considered 'chunks') with NO GREEN PEPPERS or any veggie. The pork fried rice was brown steamed rice with a few pork pieces on top. The eggroll...well...not sure if that's really what it was... Boneless spare ribs - the pork pieces from above in a semi sweet odd flavored brown sauce. Wonton soup - ok this was edible but broth a bit bland. Fried dumplings - ok, so my son ate 2 of them before he was full bc they were a decent size. So I decided to try one myself instead of wasting them....oh what a mistake!!! I tried so hard to swallow it but could only think "oh my God my poor son ate 2 of these" before spitting it out. It tasted like cat food!!!! I just couldn't.... The hot tea was delicious & so were the fried wonton strips (those crispy noodles for dunking)
google avatar

Yelp
I'm not going to complain much about a place that does a $5.75 lunch special that includes a can of soda, but the food really is not very good. I was dying for salt and pepper chicken, and I was sad that while it was on their online lunch menu, the closest thing was "Wings" on the actual menu. That item was definitely deep fried in the same batter but missing the chili and garlic topping that you find at Yummy House or other Chinese food places. Also, the quality of the chicken was poor, worse than you'd find at most fast food restaurants. Additionally, the fried rice was just rice with oil and soy sauce, topped with chopped roast (not the more traditional bbq) pork. Service was good, and the family running the place was definitely Chinese, but the food was not authentic, and it did not taste very good.
google avatar

Cinda B.

Yelp
I got the wonton soup and chicken fried rice; the food was very good. Perfect taste all the way around. But really what made the highlight for the visit was the young man who took my order! I doubt he is over 10 and helping his mom - so polite and business-like! He was so charming!
google avatar

Cristi G.

Yelp
So deliciouse best sesame chicken iv ever had and all their soups are on point! Lets not even start on how they put fresh ingredients in their fried rice....and dont 4get to get the donughts to finish it all off!
google avatar

Mike B.

Yelp
The best of the best. So amazing that it's now known to my co-workers as "the good Chinese" and they know not to request any other Chinese spots. Sure, Saigon Bay has a catchy commercial but their food can't hold Asian Wok's jock.
google avatar

WiJe S.

Yelp
We've ordered here many times. The food is good and consistent in flavor and amount.
