"Two restaurants with Swedish names under one roof. In contrast to the original restaurant Storstad, Aska is a compact sushi restaurant with a decidedly personal touch. The name translates as "ash", and the interior is accordingly dark in hue. Diners take their seats at the counter or one of the few booth tables to enjoy authentic sushi in the form of an eight- or 10-course set menu, served with two additional recommendations. Having learned his craft in his hometown of Osaka, sushi master Atsushi Sugimoto now transforms premium ingredients into the best classic sushi to be found far and wide! The attentive and charming front-of-house staff will be able to provide just the right sake to accompany your set menu, plus there is a "flat rate" for all-you-can-drink mineral water and green tea – a highly unusual offer in Germany." - Michelin Inspector

"Equally interesting is Aska in Regensburg. Located in the Goliathhaus, this restaurant received a Star for Atsushi Sugimoto’s authentic sushi cuisine. As the first sushi restaurant in Germany to hold a MICHELIN Star, it illustrates that the question of style is not a determining factor in awarding the distinction." - Le Guide MICHELIN

Top Quality, best Sushi that I've ever had. The Restaurant has a fancy design and is super clean. Staff is friendly and pays a lot of attention to everyone's needs. Pictures of the 8 Steps Menü ( 115€ p.P.) + Flatrate Water and Green Tea (12€ p.P.) Once a year (normally in December) half of the Menü is changed.

Enjoyed fine Sushi in 1-star-Michelin Restaurant 🍣🇯🇵 Had the 8 course japanese meal here! I got nigiri, sashimi, temari, yaki etc. The highlight was Kobe beef nigiri dish. That is also excellent. Every dish taste fresh, amazing and harmonic! Absolutely beautiful atmosphere, with extremely authentic dishes and great service. Menu from 14.08.21

My favorite restaurant. I love the minimalistic and almost fully black interior, which perfectly sets the stage for the awesome food. The service staff is very friendly and attentive. Besides their usual duties they also serve as DJ (they use a turntable and LPs for background music). If you git a seat at the counter you can watch Atsuhi Sugimoto prepare the dishes, which I really enjoy doing. The food is the absolute highlight. Authentic japanese dishes with a modern touch and everything based on high quality ingredients. Their signature dish, which are three tuna nigiri (otoro, chutoro and akami), is pure awesomeness. Pro tip: Besides their 8 to 10 course menu they usually have two optional courses available. If you can get kamatoro (a very rare piece of tuna) get it.

You shall be spoiled for life. This is a black and stylish and sexy place. There is a proper sushi chef from Okinawa, a white hairead and very Japanese gentlemen. The trust he inspires is well deserved: in the Aska I ate the best Sushi in my entire life (so far). And I had a fair share of it. The tree types of tuna are nothing short of a small miracle. But there is more than just fish. Everything else hold up to the same level: the Miso soup for example is just fantastic. I should mention the drinks as well as they deserve praise. We felt exceptionally well treated and will sure be back.

Absolutely wonderful sushi bar. Surprisingly, it's hard to find really good sushi bars in Germany or Bavaria. If I were to recommend one, Aska would definitely be the one, well worth its star. Cozy place with only 10 seats. The bar is imo the best place to enjoy the meal. They share elevator, bathroom and part of the kitchen with Storstad. We went for lunch there. They have an omakase menu with the possibility of adding two extra dishes. We added both, although I think one would have been enough in terms of amount of food. One way or the other, the star of the show is the sushi. Basically everything is excellent, but we got a charred turbot and a dorade that were outstanding. From the tuna pieces, the chutoro and the otoro are incredible. The beef nigiris were also really, really good. Overall, a delightful and long experience. Good sushi isn't cheap, so you got to be prepared for that. Strongest sushi I've tasted in Germany.

Fantastic experience and incredible fish quality! Especially the tuna nigiri dishes were out of this world. Price/value in my opinion very good given the awesome quality!

Excellent, took me back to Japan. The only thing I would change is the tuna tartare, less sauce more tuna. The sake selection is great, highly recommend to get the full menu.

Excellent Food, Great Service. We found the music a bit too loud when trying to have conversations in a group of 4 even though the tables are quite small and cozy.
