"Aslan is one of the region’s most respected breweries, thanks to its commitment to local sourcing and its all-around great beer. At the brewpub, diners can pair their beer with playful bar food like fried mac-and-cheese balls, waffle fry poutine, and a bacon bison burger. And at the the leather couch-filled Depot location, the company’s barrel-aging facility, food trucks park at the beer garden to help soak up the higher alcohol content of these aged beers." - Megan Hill, Jessamyn Tuttle

"Bellingham’s respected, certified organic brewery, Aslan Brewing Company, is working on a taproom in Fremont. It will be the third location for the brewery, but the first outside of its hometown. The taproom will join top-notch Korean restaurant Revel in a new building called Cedar Speedster at 36th and Phinney, and the opening timeline is currently set for summer." - Megan Hill

I stopped in while I was on vacation. The beer was good, but didn’t blow me away. Then the Cuban came out. If a Cuban is on a menu I will always order it. Wow! It was the best Cuban I’ve ever had. If I ever find myself back in Washington, I will make sure I come back for a Cuban.

First time here tonight, and the atmosphere was really nice. The service was awesome and the staff was really friendly. I got a double cheese burger with waffle fries and an appetizer of fried mac&cheese balls. And a guava lemonade to drink with was killer My wife got the same burger but gluten-free. Both were amazing! Tasted fresh and was filling. The mac and cheese balls were also amazing! And an odd but nice touch was the napkins. They were so soft I'd wipe my a*s with them. 12/10 experience and will be back.

Sweet space, knowledgeable staff and stellar food. You won’t regret taking a pit stop here. The Luna fries are out of this world. Our server was an ex chef at the brewpub here and had all the inside scoop of the food scene (that you don’t want to miss). Great beer lineup too.

For being on the street....at an intersection it was surprisingly quiet! We were seated @ picnic table....I believe after we ordered our food a party of three was seated at the other end of our table. No big deal, they didn't encroach on our space and their conversation didn't down out our own. We had been brewery hopping all day so I wasn't really in the mood for a bar so I just ordered a taster size of a light beer. My mom and I split a smash burger. Parking was pretty easy, free parking just a bit up the hill. The "wall" behind our table was floor to ceiling windows so we could take in the tap room vibe. I liked that when you entered the host stand was right there with all the merch. Our server was kind and didn't steer us wrong when we asked what she would choose for the side? She said a confident: waffle fries. Thanks Aslan for a delicious patio lunch and friendly service on an almost fall afternoon. There was also a covered patio around the corner so Aslan doesn't lack on a place to drink or eat.

Google
Great beer selection and the food is one of the best at a brewery I’ve been at. The only request is to to have more heaters outside during the raining season .

Google
Loved the vibe - spacious. Outdoor seating available. Smash burger was pretty good - recommend getting the avocado crema with the yam fries. Large selection of draft beer, only 1 cider. Our waitress was super friendly and was very knowledgeable about all the beers.

Google
Great and friendly service. Lunch was fantastic and very quick, would recommend the smash burger with fries and the grilled cheese with tomato soup. Lots of beer selection and they have flights which makes picking easier. Lots of glass and a nice open space, the merch selection is pretty sweet too

The crew at Alsan cares about the satisfaction of their guests, and they really seem to enjoy what they do. I had some confusion with the sandwich I ordered, and they addressed my issue with care and understanding. They were supportive, welcoming, and made me feel comfortable while I was there. This is a solid place to enjoy some grub and a bit of beer on the side.

Yelp
We stopped in Bellingham on the way from Seattle to Vancouver, visited the ocean walk, and were hungry. Searched for breweries near me as usual and found Asian brewing company, it was intriguing so had to go there. The beer is good, but the food is amazing. The chicken Karagi was fantastic and the bahn-mi bowls were outstanding. If and when we are back in this part of the world, ABC folks, we will be back to partake again. Almost forgot to mention that the outside seating was great on a pleasant mid July afternoon.

Andrew T.

Yelp
We stopped by Aslan while we were up in Bellingham and enjoyed the beers and food. They have fresh rotating beer selection. The food was also greatly portioned and the burgers and fries complimented the beers exceptionally.

Brigid J.

Yelp
What have you done to the bacon bison burger ?!?! It used to be this amazing thick delicious burger and now it is an arugula burger with this thin 3oz patty. I wish I had taken a picture but I forgot. It honestly felt like they forgot to put the patty on the burger it was so thin. McDonald cheeseburgers have a thicker patty than Aslan now. This is super disappointing. We've been going here since they opened and their burgers have been a staple through many menu changes. So sad to see this happen.

Peter K.

Yelp
The inside is what she would typically expect to find from a brewpub. We were going as a large party, and we had a center table the stools that they have for you to sit on, are some of the most uncomfortable stools I have ever been on there really meant for a child's bottom, rather than an adult, most of the time I had to stand up, which is not always the best thing when you're a disabled person. They really need to offer a diet soda. Some people are diabetic and don't drink alcohol and I was so shocked when they didn't have a diet soda I was basically told a regular cane sugar, soda or water. I was looking forward to having a burger because I was told they're really good here but when I saw that each burger is made with both bison and pork, that was a huge disappointment, I don't like wild game meat and I don't like pork they really should offer a beef patty, I did order the club sandwich and it wasn't the best thing I've ever had. The bread was pretty stale and the bacon jam was so overpowered by the aïoli then it just wasn't worth it especially for the price the house salad was nice a bit too much dressing for my liking but that's OK. It's how they do things. I think they have a lot of things to work on to make this place a much better environment and more friendly to people who need dietary options because even their vegetarian options are two items.

Jody S.

Yelp
Always hard to come in with a large group- this was easy and comfortable - food was amazing, something everyone! Bean dip great! I had a fantastic Hawaiian bowl! Others had burgers etc everyone happy. Even a bday ice cream! Service was friendly and fast!

Aaron Y.

Yelp
The food at this place exceeded my expectation. Quite a bit of options and all tasted really good! I got southwest bowl with chicken, and tons of flavor in the bowl. They have ginger and coconut rice which is cool! We also got some appys including Mac and cheese balls, and some fries, all fire! Price in my opinion was slightly higher, like my bowl was like $21 which is a little expensive since it's not a huge bowl. It's filling though. Appys average around $10 per. Service was fine, people were nice and decently quick! The ambiance is a typical brewery, chill vibes and clean! Sat outdoor which was a slight mistake since it was pretty hot when we went. But there's AC inside, so whatever you like.

Yelp
I love it when you can go enjoy a delicious beer with your dog on a nice patio. Aslan Brewing Company is just the spot to do that. The food is good and the servers are getting it done. This is a must visit spot everytime I go to Bellingham. There's really good energy at this place.

Fiona T.

Yelp
A fantastic spot for friends, family, and furry companions! The outside beer garden, complete with heated lamps for dogs, and the cozy inside seating create a welcoming atmosphere. With a diverse array of drinks and freshly prepared food, it's a delight. Personal favorites include the fried zucchini and mac and cheese bites. While the Luna fries were okay, the slight sogginess at the bottom left me wanting a bit more crispiness.

Kay B.

Yelp
Love their vegan options. The Hawaiian bowl with tofu is my favorite. Great beer, ambience, and service.

Julie D.

Yelp
Good beer, good service, good food!! Aslan Brewing is one of my new favorite breweries I've visited in Washington state. I came here with my boyfriend on a weekend trip to Bellingham, and we both absolutely loved it! It was a sunny day, so we chose to sit outdoors on their covered patio. There's plenty of seating to choose from though, as they have lots of tables indoors and two outdoor patios (one of which was too sunny for our sunglasses-less selves). We were hungry, and so pleasantly surprised to find that they had a large variety of vegetarian friendly options!! We got the mac and cheese balls and the poutine. The mac and cheese balls were delicious, filled with creamy cheese and a nice crunchy exterior. The poutine was also very good, and I loved the mushroom flavor and potato bits mixed in. Ordering the two together made for a bit of a heavy meal though, but that's on us! My boyfriend got an IPA and loved his drink. I was a big fan of my cider as well, although I forgot the flavor already. It was sweet and tart at the same time, a perfect fall drink!

Joel U.

Yelp
Always a solid choice. I do wish they would bring back the chili cheese fries. In the meantime, The Hawaiian Bowl is absolutely delicious.

Kim l.

Yelp
Great food! We were seated outside and were promptly told that a 20% gratuity would be added to our tab for our large group and that the bill can't be split. We ordered: Smash burger with poutin: 5/5 super tasty! Poutin was even better than the ones we had in Vancouver! The sauce wasn't overly salty. Smash burger bacon with poutin: our friend really liked his burger too. Flights: they liked their beers Southwest salad bowl with grilled chicken: 4/5 good refreshing salad, chicken was a bit on the dry side. Kids grilled cheese with sweet potato fries: my kid liked it. Chicken rice bowl with fries: my other kid said the rice tasted weird but ate the chicken and fries. Ps they don't serve waffle fries anymore. Instead they will sub with curly fries. It very spacious inside with high ceilings. It was nice to sit outside and enjoy the nice Seattle weather.

Jodi M.

Yelp
Good people, order their grilled cheese sandwich (on rosemary bread) and their house salad and you won't go wrong. AMAZING! By far, the best grilled cheese I've ever had. Simply decadent! I embarrassingly moaned over its goodness, I made a fool of myself!

Brian C.

Yelp
Stopped in after a very rainy hike in Mount Baker. We always bypass Bellingham to get home faster but will not be doing that in the future! It was fairly busy when we arrived, but we had no trouble grabbing two seats at the bar. They have a wide selection of beer options, but we are both big Hefeweizen fans and theirs was excellent! The burger was great and I recommend making it a double if you're hungry. It's a smash burger, so the patties are thinner. Highly recommend the waffle fries, they were perfect! We ended up splitting the ice cream sandwich after dinner. They make and then freeze the sandwich, probably so it isn't melting when it gets served. That made it a bit tough the get through initially, so it's probably best to give it 10 or so minutes to thaw out. Flavor was good though. Service at the bar was pretty good. Attentiveness was okay, but the staff was very friendly and were happy to provide drink and food recommendations. The interior is nice, modern, comfortable brewery. Definitely look forward to returning! We even grabbed a six pack to take home with us!

Dan M.

Yelp
Good vibe, good beer, good food. Stopped in with my son after a day of hiking. Hostess and waiter were pleasant. Cool vibe with a nice covered patio. Boy and I split the yambonzo burger with yam fries. Well presented and very tasty. I grabbed a draft but to be honest I had hit so many brew pubs I forgot which one I grabbed. I do remember that I enjoyed it. We did enjoy the experience and would return.

Natalie H.

Yelp
Delicious food, great drinks, wonderful staff. We stopped here while passing through Bellingham. I also remember visiting during a past Bellingham weekend. Quality is consistent. I added chicken to the grilled cheese and got a side of tomato soup. The seasonal cranberry cider was very good. My boyfriend enjoyed a burger, waffle fries, and a pilsner. We also picked up a four-pack of Satan's Airport stout for our trip. Nice space and we even got to enjoy live music!

Joshua P.

Yelp
What a fantastic brewery. In my top 5 of all IPA's is the Aslan Batch 15. Lots of seating and really good food too. Inside the restaurant, you have a cool view of the tanks and you can even tour the brewery if you want for 15 bucks. Great place.

Jennifer F.

Yelp
We happened to be in Bellingham for the day and stopped by for dinner. I was SO HAPPY to find so many gluten-free items on the menu. There's gluten-free buns for burgers but you can also do bowls. The service was fine - no complaints but also no notable standouts. The outside seating was packed cause it was a sunny day but there were plenty of seats inside and no wait for those. With the big windows it didn't matter too much that we weren't out in the sun, the space is airy enough.

Allison C.

Yelp
Our family loves coming to Aslans. They accommodate kids nicely. They have some of the best brewery food in Bellingham. We love the Mac and Cheese balls, the smash burgers, the pulled chicken southwest bowl, the poutine fries are all some of our favorites. I know it's not a total kid place and happy with the accommodations but if they could add a little more to their kid menu, psss chicken nuggets, it would be the absolute best! As for their drinks, I love sours. I get the disco lemonade. You have to ask for the shooter, they change flavors which is always so fun. My husband enjoys their beers as well. The servers are always so nice and they are always working hard. Their table of 8 or more.. can be a little frustrating and awkward of who puts that on their card but we understand it. Love how they decorated the place, with plants and industrial vibes. It's in our top favorite Bellingham Breweries. We always bring guests here from out of town. :)

Steve L.

Yelp
Great food and service, enjoyed the atmosphere. Outside space is comfortable. Have been back a few times.

Michelle N.

Yelp
Delicious food. Great options on the menu. Very cute place in the heart of Bellingham. We would go back.

Kayleigh W.

Yelp
My partner loves this place for food and beer. There's lots of natural light that sustain their lovey plants. We happened to be there for all day Sunday happy hour on our last visit. $1 off draft and certain apps. Our waitress was nice and attentive. It was quiet inside while most patrons were outside on the nice day. I haven't found a food order that I'd keep coming back for yet. The waffle fries and katsu are my fav thing so far. I'll keep trying because it's a nice place to stop when we are in Bellingham.

Elaine M.

Yelp
Hubby and I stopped in here for lunch after exploring Whatcom Park. We each grabbed a brew. I had the Disco lemonade with a side shooter. I really really liked it. Hubby thought it a bit too tart but I enjoyed! For lunch we shared an order of the karaage - Japanese fried chicken. This was okay but we have had better at other restaurants (mainly Japanese ones). I had the chicken katsu sando with a side of tomato soup. The sandwich was quite tasty but just a bit overly crunchy for me. It was a nice version of tomato soup. Hubby had the southwest bowl which he enjoyed but said there was a lot of rice. To be fair he could have asked for half rice and half greens. I think he would do that in the future. Our server was great and we loved the chillaxed vibe of the place.

Ben S.

Yelp
We had a great brewpub meal at Aslan. The beer was delicious, service prompt, and prices fair. We were seated inside on a summer afternoon and were able to enjoy their vegetarian poutine and other apps while sipping a sampler. Grateful we selected Aslan as the brewery to try on our Bellingham trip.

Rekha B.

Yelp
Delicious food and delicious beer. Great service. The poutine and house salad were sooo good. The spicy katsu chicken sandwich was a touch too spicy. I'll be back with bells on!

Sandra N.

Yelp
Aslan Brewing checks all the boxes you want in a brewery. The atmosphere is fun, interior is sleek & bright, menu is full of great eats, and the beer is awesome. *The burgers are priced decently at about $13 but it comes with a basket full of delicious fries of your choice. *The elote corndog was SO GOOD. The meat is juicy, with a nice snap to it. The cotija and paprika gave it elote like flavor but I still wouldn't consider it elote at all. Corn batter was thin and seasoned well. Hands down, the best corn dog I've ever had. * Poutine fries were okay. I wasn't a huge fan of the sauce. It wasn't the authentic gravy I had hoped for. Flavor was a bit lacking and bland. The waffle fries got soggy pretty fast. I wouldn't order again. * Mac and cheese balls are a solid option to split for appetizers. Its a bit heavy and greasy so I would split between at least 4-6 people. The interior is cheesy and filled with comforting macaroni, while the exterior is crisp. Aslan is a FANTASTIC option in the Bellingham area for delicious comfort food and refreshing beers. Food and drinks are priced well and the food quality is superb.

Ray D.

Yelp
was there on July 16th. our waitress was spot on and she was very attentive. the Bartender got us some great tasters. I loved my Evil Empire and the Deception. The cooks made me a great meal. What else could one want. A definite two thumbs up!

Michael W.

Yelp
Everything I've tried on their menu has been great, and consistent. Beer is tasty. Fun vibe. Real crowd pleaser and if we can't decide where to go, this is always a great choice. Great burgers, bowls, katsu, fries, sauces and IPAs. Friendly staff. Doesn't take too long, even though it's usually a bit busy.

Steve V.

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday night and was surprised there was only a 20 minute wait for our party of 6. We had found street parking right across the street so waited in the car until we got the text that our table was ready. Otherwise, the waiting area is kind of small and blocks the door a bit. We had kids with us, or else could have waited in the bar area. We got seated at the time promised at a high table we shared. The other party was at the other end and there was plenty of space between us. Our server was with us quickly and was great the entire night. We got some beers, which of course they had great selection and was reasonably priced. The food menu was great as well, especially the cub's (kid's) menu, which had a pork belly rice bowl. That is what my kid got and I got to try some and it was so good. I got the classic burger and made it a double, which means it was 1/3 pound of meat. The classic sauce is like a thousand island and the bun was really soft and good. I will mention one last thing, which is the playlist they had playing. Soooooo good!! Turns out it was one of the bartender's Spotify list and I got the link to it from our server!

Beth S.

Yelp
The "Bay Drifter" American Pilsner was great. I got the double patty smash burger, and it was a 2 out of 5. The bun was dried out and not toasted. I got the dude salad(house), and i feel the best part of the meal. I would go back for the beer and salad..

Prag R.

Yelp
Wrapped up my Bellingham trip with this favorite local spot. Aslan brewing hometown is Bellingham so I had to try this gem out. Seating is easy and the servers are friendly and warm. I got the Ginger Tye and Spicy Katsu burger- this was yum. The sides are good too- fries/wafflle fries/chips/salad/poutine/soup. There are non alcoholic drinks like cider, sparkling, coffee and tea as well. Their beers are so good that we took some home too. Stop by, won't regret it

Charine B.

Yelp
Stopped in on our way through town and had a wonderful. Great meal, I don't even like Reuben's or waffle fries all that much, but the fries were crispy and with all of those wonderful toppings it's a meal in itself. $4 add on for the toppings, but totally worth it. Service was good, but we sat at the bar. Nice big open atmosphere, the place totally filled up at lunch time.

Mike V.

Yelp
I always have a good experience at Aslan. The selection of beverages is pretty good. It is also family friendly if you want to bring your kids. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Staff are always friendly. Today I had the Hawaiian bowl with chicken. It is delicious! I also got the falafel. I have insanely high standards for falafel because I had it authentic in Israel. I thought this falafel was okay, but if you've never had falafel this will be good! I go here now and then so I will be back again.

Collin H.

Yelp
Asian is amazing. We came in with a 25 person group via a soccer team and they were fast to accommodate. Nick stepped up and offered to help and it was huge. And Mayra at the hostess stand was great in working with our large party. Food and drink were incredible. IPAs we're amazing. We will be back and enjoyed the heck out of this place.

Rachel S.

Yelp
Good was delicious, server was nice, atmosphere was good. Only downfall was not having any hard alcohol drinks. But it's a brewery so I don't really hold that against them and still say 5 stars.

Frank T.

Yelp
Amazing food and beer. Great atmosphere and customer service. Located in the heart of town surrounded by a beautiful city.

Cory B.

Yelp
If I lived in Bellingham, I'd park myself at Aslan and never leave. Several beers are my favorite local brews. The food is amazing, French dip, burgers, grilled cheese, ban mi bowl and of course... the waffle fries. Always a popular spot among the locals. One of the Northwest's best brewery restaurants period. (Yeah I know Aslan has a Seattle location but there's something about the original.)

Rachel W.

Yelp
Such good burgers, especially the vegetarian option made from scratch and not fake meat like other local burger joints. It can be a long wait but otherwise no complaints!

Julia C.

Yelp
Great beer, great ambience and good food. Their take on poutine is really good. A mushroom gravy is the vegan twist and it works. The fried chickpeas is best with an ipa.

Kaite B.

Yelp
Passing through town. We're moving to Alaska. We love breweries and honestly this is one of our top favorites. The food was so tasty and the dippin sauces... deff couldn't get enough. Beer is nice and light for an IPA. Not as hoppy as your usual. Red blend of wine they have... nice touch for someone not big on beers.

Mmmmichael C.

Yelp
Yep, this is the spot. Tasty, tasteful and thoughtful brewery. Creative grub with nice vegan options. Music loud and aggressive but not too much. It's got the vibe. The bill was a wake up call though. $$$

Lindsay K.

Yelp
Great spot! Lovely interior with tall ceilings and good food and beer. We were all happy with our burgers and sides. I didn't love all the beers I tried but really likes their champagne-style beers (Sauvage and Rosé Sauvage). Service was friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

Morgan R.

Yelp
Food 5/5 Drinks 5/5 Seating 3/5 Atmosphere 4/5 My reviews are mostly for the visual eaters.

Jason B.

Yelp
Dogs are not allowed here so remove that from your features. We drove for an hour today just to get here and find out they don't allow dogs while Yelp said they did.

Jacqueline S.

Yelp
Love the beer. LOOOVE the food. I'm plant based with a focus on organic and Aslan does both with quality!! I don't live in Bellingham anymore but when I visit this is always the first place on my list. Go for a beer, go for food, or best have both and enjoy the awesome atmosphere.

Mica A.

Yelp
Cool vibe, bites were good but didn't blow anyone's socks off. Super friendly service.

Celeste C.

Yelp
We love the vibe when we eat here. You could share tables with strangers if that's your jam. Inside, outside, and upstairs dining areas. Food is served in metal bowls. We loved everything we ordered from salad to burgers to beer. Dogs are welcome.

Pat C.

Yelp
Solid brews in a modern but homey setting. IPA's are good. Food is also tasty. The chicken sandwich was really good! Cheers!

I L.

Yelp
Great Food, amazing ambiance. We only had drinks and the waffle fries. Both were great. Fun space, nice service! Didn't love the big dog guests, which is something I think I have no choice but to get used to? (not a restaurants fault) but when you can smell the dog, it makes the food a bit less fun.

Emily S.

Yelp
Great food and drink options, it's a plus for me that it is family friendly and I can bring my little one along on some friend outings. Love their organic options as well. Food is spot on! Fun date/ group outing spot!
