Aslin Beer Company Opens Its Long-Awaited Logan Circle Outpost - Eater DC

"Over at Aslin Coffee, industry vet Danielle “Dani” Moreno is in charge. The menu includes lattes in unique flavors like orange cardamom brown butter or black sesame snickerdoodle. Aslin Coffee makes its own syrups and chai and boasts a robust tea program (try yuanyang, a Hong Kong-styled blend of coffee and milk tea)." - Adele Chapin

Aslin Beer Company’s Logan Circle Beer Garden Will Open in May With Its Own Coffee Shop - Eater DC

"The D.C. location joins brewery outposts in Alexandria and Herndon, but this 14th Street spot marks the company’s big foray into coffee too. Aslin Coffee will open up early for lattes, stay open for remote work and then transition to brews and dinner over firepit with food from the onsite Bun’d Up food truck." - Adele Chapin

Got one of their speciality lattes, the Joy Island Latte, it was almond joy themed. It was very good but also was 10 dollars before tip😬 Idk, a good bit steep but good coffee. In the Aslin Beer Company shop. Indoor and outdoor seating offered. The inside shop has like 2 circle tables and a good amount of window and bar seating. Shop has a few fans running but is still hot because of the summer. Has wifi and a few outlets.

Nice vibes and the espresso was good. Bummed that there’s no baked goods.

Google
Better known for their beer, but the coffee is really good. There are lots of fun seasonal flavors, too. *new* added pastries

The entire team here is so so so kind! Best coffee and vibes in the neighborhood <3

Google
I ordered coffee from them over a month ago. They only sent me a subset of the things that I ordered and paid money for. I have tried contacting them numerous times to fix the situation and get the missing items (or a refund). The contact email listed on their shipping emails gives an error when I try to send them a message. It is extremely unprofessional for a consumer facing company to have no functional customer service.

Google
Really enjoyed the pistachio latte! Would love if I could order from the QR code at the tables.

Google
The attendant was a bit rude, Removing the dog hair accumulated on the patio would help the mosquito issue.

Google
The coffee is delish, the people are sweet, and they allow dogs!

Yelp
downgrading the review - espresso is decent, flavored drinks are good, they offer large sizes and have a ton of seating inside and out (and are dog friendly) but every time we've tried to go the past few months, the shop isn't open at their stated time. not an issue since we just keep walking to other shops nearby, but I haven't run into another shop as inconsistent as this one with their hours

Yelp
Aslin coffee is conveniently also a beer company. Perfect for a World Cup Saturday where you may want to start your morning with caffeine and end your morning with a beer. There's a large outdoor space to enjoy your drinks as well as a smaller indoor space. There's also a food truck that I would for sure try at some point. We had the iced matcha and iced maple latte because iced coffee/tea is perfect in any season. The iced matcha was pretty good- if I'm in the area and am in a tea mood I'd definitely go back. What I loved more though was the iced maple latte. It had the great balance of sweetness that can be hard to find sometimes. So whether you enjoy a beer, coffee or both this is a cool spot

Yelp
The 14th Street corridor is home to, well, not-so-many great indie coffeeshops, especially closer to P and Q streets. The recent opening of Aslin Coffee changes that, and is definitely a welcome update to the neighborhood. In fact, Aslin Beer Company, with several locations around DC, took over a parking lot, turned it into a beer garden and added this all-day (and most days, all-evening, too) coffeeshop in the rear of it. It's super cute, has plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor, and provides great coffee and alternative milks with a smile. The baristas and friendly and helpful, and the service is generally quick. Definitely will become a regular stop for my iced oat milk latte whenever I'm around this area of DC.

Yelp
Day or night, Aslin packs a lot of fun. It's a great use of space in a spot that was formerly vacant, and the fact that it used to be a gas station adds some visual interest too! And of course the colorful mural of Justice Jackson plus the first Black judge. Folks may not recognize the other woman on the mural, Constance Baker Motley, the first Black woman who served as a federal judge. On to the coffee and beer! In the morning early/afternoon, I tried out the $16.00 Wednesday unlimited coffee deal and I was VERY caffeinated! I tried the black sesame snickerdoodle latte, matcha, chai, and Cafe Morena (all iced because it is hot out here.. whew!). I think my favorite was the Cafe Morena (americano and dulce de leche) because it's similar to Vietnamese iced coffee. I enjoyed the variety! If you can brave the heat this summer, it's a great place to work for at least a couple hours. (Note: Not many outlets!). Having the Bun'd Up truck there is great and convenient for a bite. My favorite is the miso chicken bao. I wasn't a huge fan of the mushroom one (sorry, vegetarians!). Now pack up your laptop and stick around to get a refreshing beer. At night, it's a bustling beer garden. (Technically you can start drinking at noon. No one is judging.) Sometimes I'm not a big IPA fan, but I liked the purple starfish and double orange starfish IPA plenty. Another reason for loyalty: If you sign up for their friends w/benefits program, you earn 1 point for every $1 spent and receive a $5 discount for every 100 points!

Yelp
The newest coffee shop in town is also a beer garden. Open daily for coffee at 6:30 a.m. and beer at 11 a.m., Aslin roasts their beans and brews their beer and sour ales in Northern Virginia. With a black sesame snickerdoodle latte on the menu and 24 taps inside and out, here's what you should know: 1) Location: 14th and S Streets NW by Nia Keturah's mural of Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, 2) Hours: Daily at 6:30 a.m. for coffee and 11 a.m. for beer, 3) Amenities: Wifi, indoor and outdoor (some shaded) seating, restrooms, and one visible indoor power outlet, 4) Transportation: Street parking and the closest Metro Station is U Street along the Green and Yellow lines, 5) Nearby: Jane Jane for cocktails, Etto for pizza, and African American Civil War Museum for history.

Yelp
We went for the beer garden and had a great time! There was a long line to get in, but it was worth it. We loved the bright murals. The place was lively, loud, and packed! We were able to stake out a picnic table and share space with another group. There were cute doggies hanging out, too. They serve beer, wine and ciders. We enjoyed the selection. The ciders were strong! There was a bao bun food truck, and the food was great! This is a fun, happening spot, and I recommend you stop by to check it out.

Yelp
I went in so excited to try this place - Aslin is easily one of my favorite local breweries and I was so happy when I heard this place was opening. I finally got around to going last weekend and couldn't have been more disappointed. Terrible ambiance, rude staff, and extremely mediocre coffee. I also feel like the beer is much worse than it is when canned - maybe a problem with their draft lines? Also, to serve some of these beers with such high ABV and have no food seems irresponsible.

Yelp
This is an interesting place. During the morning and early afternoon, it's a cafe...but one without any pastries, only coffee, tea, etc. There are only stools rather than anything to lean one's back against, so it's not well suited for those who want to spend some quality time seated comfortably. Then, in the later afternoon and beyond, it turns into a raucous, packed place where millenials go to have beer (mostly standing room). There is also attached to it a large beer-garden-type space, but I didn't spend any time there as it was winter.

Yelp
Promising start to coffee portion of flagship Aslin beer and coffee area. I'm glad to see that site opened up prior to 4th of July. As always with new operations, please bear in mind that service is slower than usual.

Yelp
I love this place!! It's definitely a summer block party vibe here with what looks a converted car shop (don't quote me on that). It's packed and very bubbly, with Adirondack chairs and umbrellas placed throughout the property. Definitely seems to be a place that people of all ages can enjoy, and even their pups! The service is ridiculously quick and very good - you literally order on your phone and you look up and it's there. We got the bao buns which were surprisingly delicious and very flavorful! Good variety of sour beers that are perfect for the summer - definitely recommend the sour that's made from skittles. Parking can be tricky as it's just the typical street parking on 14th st, so Uber or scooter may be a good option. Will definitely be making it back here! Sounds like they have great coffee deals on Wednesdays for WFH.

Yelp
Fun branding and people here! Very cool that it's part of the beer garden. I enjoyed my Black Sesame Snickerdoodle Latte and Cafe Morena. The employees are super friendly. Unfortunately, not too much indoor seating (and not the best AC), but plenty of shaded outdoor seating. I want to take advantage of the $16 Unlimited Coffee deal every Wednesday when you "WFH" there!

Yelp
Great service and great coffee! Got a maple and cinnamon oatmilk latte very much enjoyed it one of the best coffee shops I've tried in dc!

Yelp
I really liked this place the first few times I went, but it already seems to be going downhill. One or two of the staff members are great, but most of them seem to have no idea what they're doing. At this point, I don't know if I'd be willing to go again.

Yelp
Went to the Aslin coffee (more so beer garden) today. I was a bit disappointed. Ordered a wine and cider "from the back" and was disappointed. Why? The wine was a minuscule poor and both beverages were warm! On a very warm D.C. day. SMH. Was going to to return for a cold beer but powered through. The scene was pretty chill and cool, but the drinks need to follow suit (re: be cool). I guess when in Rome do what the Romans do...drink beer in a beer garden (not vino or cider).

Yelp
Great staff, great beer, good time! Only complaint is that finding a table is a bit of a free for all due to the popularity

Yelp
- pour overs are definitely for coffee tasting fanatics only, not for casual drinkers. i got a light roast and it was so dark and bitter which isn't a flaw-- the flaw is just that my palette for coffee just isn't compatible with it. i added milk and sugar which i felt probably diminished the integrity
