"Snowboarding equipment is not an unusual sight in Colorado restaurants. Somewhat less common are Iron Maiden memorabilia and Christmas decorations. Finding all three together is entirely unheard of, except at one Colorado restaurant. What does each aspect of the ambience have in common? Absolutely nothing—except for the fact that they are all well-loved by Mesut Cetin, the owner of Aspen Lodge Bar & Grill. Inside the lodge (really an outlet of a suburban strip mall) you will find the walls, posts, and ceilings packed with personality. Fully decked out Christmas trees and Santa-hatted stuffed animals are everywhere, along with British flags and Iron Maiden posters. Aspen Lodge features the longest bar in Westminster, stocked with dozens of drink options. There is also a small stage, used for karaoke nights and the occasional Iron Maiden tribute band. When the stage is empty, heavy metal plays throughout the restaurant at a comfortable volume. The dining options are just as eclectic as the restaurant’s decor. There are a number of delicious Turkish options, including several gyro dishes. You can also try the “best Philly cheesesteak in a 666-mile radius,” a reference decidedly taken from Iron Maiden’s “Number of the Beast” and not from any Christmas carol. According to Mesut, the unifying theme of the restaurant is love. There is a good chance your meal will be delivered by Mesut himself, wearing an Iron Maiden T-shirt and a cheerful grin. It is clear that he loves his restaurant the way it is. Chances are, you will too. Know Before You Go The sign on the outside of the restaurant says it is “Open until two minutes to midnight, well, sometimes!” However, you might want to consider planning around its regular hours: 4 to 10 PM Monday to Thursday, 12 to 10 PM Friday and Saturday, and 9 AM to 10 PM on Sundays." - mikewalker

Google
A great local bar with fantastic food. Would be impossible to duplicate the vibes of this place if you tried different 100 times. Iron Maiden with a sprinkle of Christmas, a whole new world and it’s awesome. Great service, and the food is marvelous. Everything is freshly made, I’ve had the steak Philly both times I’ve eaten here. It’s not the most authentic Philly but it’s a great sandwich, very satisfying. Wonderful local spot.

Google
Incredible environment as soon as you walk in, especially if you're an Iron Maiden fan! The music isn't overpowering and the overall atmosphere is just so welcoming. The food was well beyond expectations and is one of the many things that will keep us coming back! The main thing is the hospitality and customer appreciation. If you're looking for a new local spot with great food, music and hospitality then this is your pick!

Google
Okay this place is a gem. The food, the atmosphere and wait staff is exactly what I’m looking for in Colorado. A little divey and quirky mixed with the best mozzarella sticks I’ve found here. Love the funky decor of Christmas lights, lava lamps and Iron Maiden themed atmosphere. Seriously, can’t rave about this place enough!

Google
This place is absolutely AMAZING! Food is amazing. Atmosphere is ridiculously cool. Philly cheesesteak is probably the best in town for sure.

Google
This place is a local gem! We had the onion rings, cheese steak, and baklava for dessert and everything was fantastic. The main food came out piping hot and the cheese steak is the best I’ve ever had. The cheese was perfectly melted, the bread softer, and the meat well seasoned. We sat at the bar and the owner’s daughter (didn’t catch her name) was so genuine and sweet and excited for us to visit for the first time. The year-round Christmas decor adds another layer of fun and charm to this place. Absolutely loved our first experience.

Google
The owner stopped by to check how we were. This is a family run business, which I always love to support. Themed as a cozy Christmas visit to Aspen, with a dulcet blend of heavy metal, it just feels right. The food was very enjoyable. The gyros was really delicious, and so was the Philly sandwich. The philly was really intense for me (I don't eat a lot of that type often) so I had half and that was about perfect. Great ambience, will come again!

Google
Believe the hype- Ditto to all the other 5 star reviews. this Place is great. I've had a lot of great cheese steaks and this one is right up there. Great food, service and value, thank you E.

Google
My dad and I went earlier today for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised. First of all the staff are so friendly, the chef came and talked to us so that was cool, they really make you feel welcomed, there good people . We started with the Jalapeño poppers, then I got the steak platter and he got the chicken platter they were both delicious and the pita is sooo good!!!

Christopher S.

Yelp
Trust me, go here!! The bar is unassuming and does not do justice to what you get. We came here because of the yelp rating and wanted a good burger...IT WAS A FANTASTIC BURGER. they stick to the basics and it works. Basic cheese burger cooked to perfection on a fantastic bun with just the right amount of accompany. The fries were seasoned great and cooked very well. With all the excess pomp and circumstance that you get everywhere else, they just make you a burger that tastes fantastic and makes you feel great. I will absolutely come back and bring friends.

Jasmine T.

Yelp
Ambiance was amazing and perfect to come for Christmas - or even year round! The food was really good too. You wouldn't think a place can do Turkish and American and Philly cheesesteaks, but they do and it was good! The waiter was sooo friendly too, we would come back just for him!

Linda F.

Yelp
The food was so good. Great fries. Wonderful burger. Attentive service. Cool decor. Iron Maiden music.

William F.

Yelp
Great service. Solid food. Only thing missing is some beers on tap. The gyro was on point.

Peter N.

Yelp
Great atmosphere at this place it's an odd combo of Christmas and Iron Maiden, but it totally works. The staff and service are great. Also the food is good, classic bar fare with some Eastern European dishes added in. Great Czech/Pilsner beer selection too.

David S.

Yelp
Our first visit and liked the place as soon as we entered. We loved the decor. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Philly cheese steak as advertised was awesome We'll be back

Tracy B.

Yelp
Very interesting place. The staff are all very pleasant. The drink menu is impressive for what looks like a hole in the wall. The place has an odd smell which is rather off putting. Other than that it's worth a try.

David K.

Yelp
OK, this place is just as wierd as everybody describes, but in just the right way to give a great vibe. I only had the cheesesteak with fries, so I cannot comment on the enitre menu, but that snadwich itself is good enough to get me to come back when I am in town again. Oh, and the fires were top notch too!

Debra D.

Yelp
Mesut is the owner and chef. Super food and super guy. Very enjoyable and laid back atmosphere with a little Christmas joy thrown in the mix. The menu is diverse and the quality of the food is excellent. My favorite is the gyro. I think his gyros are the best in the metro area. Highly recommend.

Chelsea D.

Yelp
Stumbled on this place after most places closed early because of snow, and I'm so glad we did! I had no idea there was an all year Christmas-themed bar by me, and I love it. The decor is so fun, with a sprinkle of some Iron Maiden. Service was great. My partner is a vegetarian, and they had a decent selection to choose from for that. I wish I could remember what it was called, but the chef brought us out a free vegetarian lentil starter and it was so freaking good! We also got the Italian Sliders, Vegetable Spring Rolls, and Breaded Zucchini. The portions were huge, so we were stuffed by the end of this! My only thing is I would like the zucchini with ranch instead of tzatziki, but that's just a personal preference. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the Turkish offerings!

Aleeta s.

Yelp
The Philly cheese is dynamite! Service is great and the ambiance is quirky but awesome!!

Jason S.

Yelp
Favorite place in Denver! Great food, Christmas and Maiden! What's not to love. Owner is great also

Joshua S.

Yelp
E and this place lives up to the hype!!! Great drinks, food and magic tricks!!! Actually not tricks, just magic!

Ben D.

Yelp
Absolutely love it here. The atmosphere is very fun and the food is amazing as well. I recommend the gyro, philly cheesesteak, and the burgers. The owner is super friendly and is a blast to talk to. Iron maiden fans will love this place especially. Do NOT miss out on this hole in the wall spot!

Matt J.

Yelp
This spot is a unique find and not an obvious choice for a corporate team happy hour, but that's what made it so fun! They celebrate Christmas and Iron Maiden year round while serving Turkish food. Truth be told, I almost removed a star because the outside of this place looks super sketch, but that adds to the experience when you walk in the door and are transported. Not to mentioned, the manager of this place was so kind and awesome! He was super accommodating for my event and gave us great service. Can't wait to go again.

McKennah R.

Yelp
Everything about this place is great. We got the cheesesteak and the gyro plate. The fries are some of the best fries I've ever had, the Philly cheesesteak really is the bomb, and the gyro plate was so fresh and you could tell the quality of ingredients was great. The owner is the cook, and came out to check on us. He also gave us some free samples of one of the apps - it was so good. He was awesome, and so was our server Claire! This place is quirky, weird and cozy but in the very best way. We were talking about what we'd order next time before we even left - that's when you know it's good!

Eric S.

Yelp
What a find! Fun place with excellent service and even better food. You wouldn't think it being in a hidden strip mall, but don't sleep on it.

Emina S.

Yelp
I'm so excited to bring my boyfriend here next time (got take out for my first visit) to enjoy some drinks and food at the bar. What a vibe!! The interior is a Christmas lovers dream and feels so warm, cozy, and inviting. The woman at the bar and Mesut, the owner, were incredibly kind and helpful. You can tell Mesut really cares about his bar&grill and the place is just COOL. An Iron Maiden concert was playing at the bar tv, eclectic decor fills the space, vast array of liquors to choose from, and a menu with something for everyone! The regular menu is mostly classic American bar food along with some mediterranean influences and options but their breakfast menu looks just as good :) Love how big the appetizers menu is. I was reaaallly craving fried mushrooms and those were delicious. Also got dolmas, fried ravioli, and veggie spring rolls. Wouldn't get the spring rolls again but i think that was just a bad choice. Dolmas + Ravioli were addictive. Location is in a strip mall style building with lots of parking and they're open much later than a lot of places around here which I can appreciate. There's also an appetizer called Sarajevo (where I was born) that wasn't available last night but am looking forward to trying on my next visit. Much love to this awesome establishment!

Ray W.

Yelp
We had an amazing experience at this restaurant! We tried the gyro and Philly cheese steak, and both were absolutely delicious. The were cooked perfectly, and the portions were just right. The owner's family was there, and they were so adorable, adding a really nice touch to the atmosphere. We were served by E, who, along with the owner, was super friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Plus, during happy hour, they had a great deal--a bucket of 6 beers for only $12! We'll definitely be back soon!

Rusty H.

Yelp
Such an easy 5 star. Cheesesteak is phenomenal and the best fries we have ever had. They should be firm crispy and seasoned with a crunch. Anyone who thinks otherwise or that they are "twigs" is a moron Karen. The apps are really good, gyro is awesome. Mac and cheese bites mmmmm. Great hummus. Great service and the place is super fun. It's like a ski lodge with a unique twist. Can't even count how many times we have been back!

Dana B.

Yelp
I was really excited to go here because of the reviews but I was very disappointed! They didn't have any type of seltzer or cider and you have to pay for water. My friend and I ordered a wrap and a gyro salad that took an HOUR to bring out- and it wasn't busy! My salad was missing the garbanzo beans which I was counting on for some protein and no one really checked on us so I didn't say anything. And the gyro meat was that flat, pre-cut frozen stuff you can buy at like Costco. For $17 I expected better. My friend said her wrap was fine but nothing to write home about. The inside space definitely seemed cool and well decorated but it was very empty so the vibes were a bit weird. Would maybe only come back for a drink.

Hal J.

Yelp
A whimsical experience in Westminster (a suburb of Denver), Aspen Lodge is a combination of ski lodge, Christmas village, and heavy metal, with Turkish-American fusion. The staff were friendly and attentive, while the food was tasty and served quickly. I was impressed with the speed our food was prepared, and upon finishing the food orders, the owner stepped out of the kitchen to make sure the customer were satisfied. Would recommend for the friendliness and whimsical atmosphere alone, but the food was also excellent.

Dave B.

Yelp
Have been here a few times and always enjoy the food which is a nice combo of burgers, sandwiches, plus salads and Mediterranean offerings like hummus and gyros, etc. The cheesesteak is pretty bomb and the fries are amazing. But one of the biggest draws for me is the unique and cozy atmosphere which I can only describe as doing shrooms at an apres ski with Iron Maiden at Christmas time. I can't describe it any better than that- you just need to see it for yourself! Aside from that, I like the drink and beer menu and find the service to be welcoming and friendly. Go on! Rock out with your jalapeño poppers out!!

Matthew S.

Yelp
Five of us happened upon Aspen Lodge Bar and Grill for breakfast on Sunday. Iron Maiden super fan - and Aspen Lodge owner - Mesut, took our orders. We had the Tipsey Toast with fruit, the City Omelette, and the Last Holiday Omelette. The food was prepared fresh, hot, and delicious. The omelettes came with lightly-seasoned, wafer-thin fried potatoes, which were wonderful. The decor is eclectic, blending Chritmas decorations, lava lamps, Iron Maiden flags, and assorted ski and snowboard paraphernalia. Not your typical breakfast place, but I loved it. They have a lunch and dinner menu also, and an incredibly well-stocked bar. We haven't sampled either of those yet, but rest assured we have plans to.

Casey B.

Yelp
Love love love this fantastic spot. Unassuming from the outside, located in a small strip mall. Then you walk into an alternate world of mountain Christmas cabin mixed with a generous dash of Iron Maiden and scrumptious international fare. Can't wait to tell everyone I know to come here!

Claire S.

Yelp
So glad we came here for the first time! We went on a Saturday around 630 PM and it was fairly quiet, we were able to walk right in and decided to sit at the bar. The holiday decor and rustic nature of it is super cute and cozy. The breaded cheese ravioli were SO GOOD. Hot, crispy, definitely the highlight of the evening. I got the Philly cheesesteak since they claim it's the best, and it was very good. Personally I like a lot of cheese, so I wish I asked for more melty cheese. I felt it was a tad too greasy, that would be my only negative. My boyfriend had the steak wrap, it was also a bit greasy with a lot of liquid (I think it was the tomato sauce they used) so it made the wrap a little soggy. He decided to eat the steak mixture first and tortilla at the end since it was hard to hold it together. I would definitely go back and try other menu items because the environment was just so cozy and chill. Staff was very attentive and friendly.

Yelp
Girlfriend and I wanted to try a new place, I opened Yelp and found this place. Good overall reviews so we decided to give it a shot. The place is in a smaller shopping strip and is pretty easy to miss - just make sure you don't. We walked in and were amazed at the inside. Christmas decor, mountain lodge vibes, Iron Maiden stuff, it's pretty neat inside and it adds to the atmosphere and vibe that this place gives. Dude at the front told us to sit wherever we wanted, he dropped off two menus and we began to look. Lots of drinks, and a select amount of food. I opted for the Cheesesteak and she went for the Mediterranean Wrap. For our drinks, I got a Jack and Coke, and she got some kind of drink that I forget the name of. The food took a few minutes to get to us but it's worth it. It's fresh. My Cheesesteak was excellent. It came out hot and cheesy, it was fantastic. The meat and everything else was cooked to perfection. The bun was nice and soft and was just so delicious. The fries were great too. Her wrap was really good as well, from the 2 bites I took I knew that I wanted it the next time we come in - because there will be a next time. The owner came by a few times and made sure we were taken care of, great guy. We picked some kind of Turkish dessert, multiple layers, chocolate sauce, and layers of cake. It was all too good. This place is one of those weird places that's just a gem that we need to visit and take care of so we can ensure that it continues to shine. Not many places like this exist anymore but I'm glad this place does.

Michael C.

Yelp
Looking for a place where you can enjoy Christmas all year round while great music plays all while eating delicious food? Then Aspen Lodge Bar & Grill is for you! Service is so friendly and welcoming. We had the Ajvar, a roasted red pepper dip, it is amazing, so much flavor and the grilled bread that goes with it is great too. When they say they have the best cheesesteak they aren't kidding. I've lived in Philly and had many a cheesesteak and this is up there with the best of them. The bread is the proper chewy but not too soft bread that holds everything together, perfect ratio of meat cheese and onions. I can't wait to go back this was such a fun place to hang!

Candy M.

Yelp
I am having a hard time reconciling the posted reviews with our experience. The restaurant was recommended to me because of the decor and cheesesteaks. The Christmas decor was OK. The cheesesteak sandwich was good as was the fish. However, the french-fries were so hard and dried out they were like trying to eat twigs. We gave up on trying to eat them for fear of breaking a tooth. We were charged for bottles of water. Apparently, they didn't have glasses of water? The service was barely adequate. I wish we had had the experience of the customers with the glowing reviews. Ours was disappointing and we won't be going back!

Peter P.

Yelp
Ok... Whimsical neighborhood biker bar turned restaurant serving up Kirkland bites. Wonderful service, wonderful ambience, food what you would expect at a bar. Great spot to bring some friends from out of town for some beers.

Alan B.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. The cheesesteak was very meaty and cheesy. A bit salty for me but very delicious. Gyro and fries were also very good. I will be back.

Micah K.

Yelp
Quite possibly one of the coolest "dive bars " I've EVER been into so far. Pulling into the tiny "shopping center" the bar is in, I started to question the recommendation that I received. The parking lot is a bit dark and unless you were looking for this place it'd be hard to tell it was there. That is we're the doubt ended. And it ended abruptly. The vibe of this place was clearly evident as soon as I saw the doors, windows, and facade. It screamed "Come inside". I did... Inside was absolutely the chillest and hippest bar simultaneously. The decorations show just how in touch with life the owner of it must be! Ski decorations, rock posters, Christmas decorations, Nat Geo magazines stacked neatly at the bar, every liquor known to man kind behind the bar, a mini stage, and logs used as foot rests at the bar. The owner, bartender, & cook (All the same person) kept every person happy and somehow still had plenty of time to show how personable he is. His food is AMAZING. It's a VERY unique menu that fuses Turkish/mediterranean PERFECTLY with American classics. The Mesut burger is currently the best burger I've ever had! It's unbelievable that a burger that unique could also be so amazing! Pair it with an Efes Pilsner (Turkish) and you can't go wrong. I literally can't wait to come back here as often as I possibly can!

Cody P.

Yelp
Have to love a place where it is an iron maiden, lava lamp, antique stereo equipment Christmas year round. The owner and staff are super friendly and the cheese steak really is as good as promised.

Katy K.

Yelp
Food is incredible but be patient. Everything is made to order and fresh so you need to wait a bit for your food. But well worth it! Mezut the owner is also the chef and he is the sweetest guy. Recommend the Mezut burger, Mediterranean platter and Philly.

James S.

Yelp
Amazing Hummus and cool atmosphere! Wish they gave more pita bread with the hummus initially.

Randy D.

Yelp
Wonderful staff. The food was amazing. Claire took good care of us. We will certainly be returning for some more awesome food during our trip.

Dan C.

Yelp
I was searching for a really good hamburger and I was not disappointed. The staff was super friendly including to cook who came out to see if I enjoyed my burger. This was my second time coming here and I will be back again!

Troy K.

Yelp
Hidden gem. The decor is hilarious but the food is delicious. I get the feeling it fills up at night by my family goes in the weekend at lunch when it's nice and quiet

Steve L.

Yelp
We've been to some "interesting" restaurants in Colorado. This one takes the cake. This an Iron Maiden, mountain lodge-themed joint with DELICIOUS, authentic Greek food. Westminster sure has a few diamonds in the rough! Gyro burger, Philly cheesesteak, fries, paulaner P: @diningcolorado #yelpcolorado #greekfood #gyroburger #westminsterfood #westminstercolorado #5280eats #5280magazine #303eats #303foodscene #coloradofoodie #coloradolife

Yelp
Amazing food and service! Soooo pleased w our visit. The tiramisu and gyro salad were Bomb

Jacob M.

Yelp
I love AC/DC so much! Very ominous and spooky vibe for all holween enjoyers! Great service and food! Honestly best experience but i lost $4 somehow

J L.

Yelp
What an experience, and an amazing one! We traveled from Central Park (Aurora) after reading reviews: Christmas environment all year long, amazing food (highlight Mediterranean with classic American: many reviews on the hands down delish Cheesesteak, Gyro, fresh hand cut fries/cooked to perfection, several breakfast dishes Mediterranean style (non-traditional American which we feel is a treat, tasty cocktails and Iron Maiden brewed beer). What? Well it was that and more, staff (Claire and chef -he got busy cooking so we didn't get his name but engaging and asked how our food came out), was so welcoming and attentive, food was delicious and on point, the atmosphere, special and cozy, bar had tree stubs for your feet to rest rather than dangle, and again, the food. We had Turkish style dolmas, the cheesesteak and gyro-going back for more and to try their breakfast. The drive over was well worth 30-40m and it's a beautiful area. A special and unique place to take yourself, visitors, to celebrate, or hang. And they will play Iron Maiden upon request, but it's not playing non-stop and today, they had some variety on that was enjoyable and perfect for a cooler summer day, oh and while we sat amongst Christmas trees and decor. Totally evident the owner is passionate about the overall experience, thoughtful, creating a unique space and an amazing time! Let's keep these family owned and local businesses going, with this place, you won't reg

Bridget A.

Yelp
Christmas + Iron Maiden + Best Philly cheesesteak = The Aspen Lodge. Honorable mention to the fresh made fries! Try the Mezza plate if you like Mediterranean food too! Staff are so attentive and friendly and the owner is the nicest person ever, he always stops by to check in on how our meal went. The decor and vibes of this place are unlike anything you have ever seen in the best way. This is one of our favorite spots for a casual date night!

Andrea S.

Yelp
Aspen Lodge is quite the interesting spot. I can't quite figure out the vibe... it's definitely lodge, but then there's Christmas decorations everywhere and a lot of Iron Maiden! As my friend put it "I feel like it's a joke that I'm not getting." With that being said, they have some solid food and friendly staff! I ordered the Mesut Burger (think gyro in burger form) and shared some Hand Cut French fries with my friend. Both were quite good, just missing a bit of salt on the burger! I wouldn't go out of my way to come back but if I'm in the area (which I often am to go to Westminster Hills dog park) then I'd definitely come back and try their "best in the world cheesesteak."

Gary S.

Yelp
This place is amazing!! The crew is friendly and fun to be with. I would recommend the Jameson and Ginger beer as it's the best I have had.

Duane G.

Yelp
The food is really good and the service is excellent!! I would recommend this place for Greek food, they also service other food like hamburgers, fish and chip and Philly Cheese Steak sandwich.

Ciao Line ..

Yelp
We are still enjoying Aspen Lodge. See prior review. He was open today on Easter Sunday. The Dumb and Dumber omelette is fantastic: Just a little bit of mustard with all those grilled onions, tomatoes, peppers, potatoes and green chile salsa folded in. Perfection on a plate. The Mexican omelette is just as fantastic. The best tasting coffee around! Mesut is looking for help, especially a cook.

Brooklynn G.

Yelp
Fish and Chips are the best my husband and I have had since a visit to London a decade ago! We stopped in for dinner on Father's Day and were greeted and seated immediately. The decor is a bit eclectic- snow sports equipment, lava lamps, Iron Maiden memorabilia, and Christmas trees and ornaments! It was fun! A simple, but effective kids menu with grilled cheese, cheese burgers, fish, and chicken strips. Our pickiest eater even said he would visit again if he could order another cheese burger! The grownup menu included Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes like kofta, gyros and American classics like burgers, and sandwiches. A cocktail menu and list of available beers were also available. Our waitress greeted us right away and gave us our choice of a high top or standard table. The chef also came out to visit with customers and make sure we had everything we wanted. He said he loves Iron Maiden!

Kar L.

Yelp
I'm rooting for these people but what a disaster our dinner was. We were ignored for quite a while until someone took an order. We each ordered a burger with two very different problems. Mine tasted awful. Hers was uncooked. Wait staff didn't understand our concerns and struggled to resolve. It took so long for them to address the issues we asked for our bill to leave.
