The Aspens is a very good location but as the units within the property are managed by a variety of people and management groups, one should take care to review from whom they are renting, Specifically, renters should beware of units within The Aspens managed by a group that goes by the name, Whistler Accommodations. They post on VRBO as owner managed units then the dialog moprhs into a discussion with the vague entity known as Whistler Accommodations. On VRBO, all looks good but when one moves to the direct dialog, all sorts of restrictions and added costs arise. In responding to the VRBO posting, the length of stay was not set and our group requested a three night stay. Subsequently, Whistler Accommodations added an absolute requirement for a four night minimum stay. They then sent a three nights for the cost of four nights contract - which was misread as Whistler Accommodations repeatedly stated that renters must stay at least four nights. That is, the only product sold by Whistler Accommodations was a four night minimum stay. Two nights into the stay, we contacted Whistler Accommodations to double-check that they had indeed booked us for four nights. Christine at Whistler Accommodations stated that despite the set-in-concrete four night minimum, they had booked our group for three nights (at the cost of four nights). She said that if we had raised the topic prior to arrival that she would have been able to provide the fourth night but by day three, it was too late. She said that to get another one night we would need to book another four night stay. As we were seeking help from her to find a way to find lodging for a fourth night, she became hostile and belligerent, saying, "this is going nowhere", "you signed a contract", and finally, "I need to get off the phone to check what's available". She promised to return the call and provide options - she not only did not return the call, she also did not answer or return follow-up phone calls and emails. Subsequently, on day four, Whistler Accommodations changed the electronic locks on unit 332, effectively evicting our group. These people, and Christine in particular, could not care less about about their renters. Oh, and then there is the unit 332 itself which was stripped of the most basic of needs - salt & pepper? Yes, you'll need to bring that... more than three spoons needed? You'll need to bring some...Cooking in the unit? Good luck with the crappy, sparse cookware. I cannot imagine that anyone would rent more than once from Whistler Accommodations - they are nasty cheats. And on a personal level, Christine should consider something other than the hospitality business.
