ASPIC

"After ditching the world of finance to enrol in the Ferrandi Culinary School, the chef went on to hone his skills in a variety of establishments (including the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and L'Épi Dupin). He then went it alone and opened this restaurant. With its vintage vibe and open kitchen, the chef devises a surprise set menu that is unabashedly creative and showcases carefully selected ingredients: free-range meat and poultry, line-caught fish from small boat fishing, citrus fruits, herbs and spices, all sourced as locally as possible." - Michelin Inspector

This place was the bomb! To be entirely fair, we were the only couple in the restaurant and we are generally easy, so service had an easy time of it. But they were outstanding regardless. The whole team there (and we met them all, I think) was super-friendly, and our primary server, who I think doubled as the sommelier, gave us extra wine when we casually expressed our wine preferences. I understand they recently lost a Michelin star, and I can't imagine why. Everything was outstanding! 10/10 would eat here again!

Refined Dining in an Intimate Setting Securing a reservation in advance is essential for ASPIC, a compact yet impeccably maintained gastronomic destination. The experience centers around a seven-course tasting menu, enhanced by an amuse-bouche and a thoughtfully crafted palate cleanser. While the specific dishes are best discovered firsthand, each course demonstrates meticulous attention to detail, with flavors that are both distinctive and expertly balanced. The wine list is well-curated, with the option for expertly paired selections. For non-drinkers, the house offers an inventive range of cocktails and artisanal juices. Highly recommended for those seeking a refined and memorable culinary experience in the area.

Amazing dinner. Food was a totally different level. Amazing service and they really took care of us. Got to meet and talk to the chef which was super cool as well. Definitely recommend!

Overall, it's a good experience with my wife and daughter for dinner. The scallop was cooked to its perfection. It's fresh, tender, creamy and can melt in the mouth. The fish lost a little crispness, and the bitterness of veggie overwhelmed the delicacy of the fish. The steak is a bit chewy, the shining star is the mushroom in the dish, with lovely acid and fragrance. All cookies are a bit soft (being cold for too long?) and weakened the texture, this is true in dessert as well. Chef special Cookies at the end are all good, with infusion of sea salt, fennel, anise, ginger and seaweed etc.

Google
Lovely restaurant with tables. Food was great only dew things we didn’t enjoy very much was the meat and the cheese dish. Otherwise the rest was fabulous, the small appetizers were delicious, the sardines as well. The scallops were extremely well done, perfectly cooked, tender. The desert as well were amazing.

Google
This is such a wonderful restaurant. I loved being surprised by the menu and thought every dish was delicious. The restaurant is a little small and the tables were a little close together but overall, loved this restaurant so much.

Google
We had a seven course menu, each plate was curated thoughtfully. Meals were multi-dimensional thanks to great balance of texture, spice, elements and seasonality. Only plate that was not as memorable as others was the entrecôte. But all the rest were delicious. The team and service were beyond excellent! They even surprised us with candles for our wedding anniversary. Big thank you to the chef and the staff for a great dinner and night!

Google
The service was excellent and the foods were amazing. The restaurant style is also comfy bistro style and you felt welcome directly by the waitress. Their main specialties are seafood. They even offered to take care of the flower that were brought along with me. Price wise together with services and meal, I would recommend to dine here.

Yelp
ASPIC was a true treat. Very relaxed ambiance. The space is small but cozy and warm. They offer a 7 course pre-fixe menu and every course was very fresh, unique and beautiful. We loved the wine recommendations as well. We loved getting to see a behind the scenes of the kitchen through the glass. All the magic happens in such a compact space and the team really delivers. So nice to meet the chefs as well since they take turns bringing out each course along with the waiters. Head Chef Sami came around to the tables at the end to give everyone a small pouch of homemade chocolates. ASPIC was the best meal we had on our trip. They have a rotating menu and we would love to come back in the future and see what other creations they offer. Also there was a French couple seated two tables away and when a new couple was seated in between us, I heard the 4 make conversation and the French couple said you will not regret one bite. 100% agree. Thank you ASPIC for a lovely evening! We were so impressed with the pricing for a one Michelin restaurant as well. High quality at an amazing price. Highly recommend without hesitation.

Yelp
ASPIC was my favorite restaurant to visit this time in Paris (12/2022) and earned 1 Michelin star in 2022. Chef Quentin Giroud serves the freshest ingredients during his 7-course surprise dinner in his open kitchen. The restaurant itself is small but tastefully decorated in dim lighting. The tables are close but not so close that you hear other conversations. The food was simple and fresh, yet beautiful. Service was excellent and attentive. I highly recommend ASPIC for your next Paris trip. Make sure to reserve a table early.

Yelp
What an experience! The space is small and beautiful. We were two of many American patrons at the restaurant on this particular night. The staff was warm and hospitable, and they did everything they could to make the dinner personal and special. The courses were delicious, everything we ate was perfect. Gorgeous plates of food where you can taste the chef's passion in every bite. Staff helped us select wine to accompany certain dishes. We would return without hesitation if we visit Paris in the future.

Yelp
Cute tiny restaurant in Paris. The food was good and service was wonderful. The chef came out to explain his menu and very friendly. The meal here was so inexpensive for One Star Michelin restaurant. The food was brought out on a timely manner for a Tasting Menu restaurant. The portion was very generous and the plates are beautiful. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Just make sure you give yourself at least 2 hours.

Yelp
Recommended restaurant in Paris for a surprise menu in the price range of 110.- Euro (+ 65 Euro for wine pairing) Food: They offer a surprise menu for a fixed price (no à la carte option is given), the only adjustment you can make is concerning your dietary restrictions. The different courses were all very well done, good combination of different taste (combining salty, fatty, acidic, etc.) in one plate on the different ingredients. Allowing you to "mix" your bites to your liking. The only "negative" feedback I can give is that some of the dished that were advertised as a full course to me seemed more like a in between course palate cleanser. But in the end it does not matter if it is advertised as a 7-course dinner or a 5-course dinner with 2 palate cleansers. Also I really appreciate the idea of the wine pairing. For every dish a new wine is presented but the amount will depend on your speed (they will refill your glass depending on your speed of drinking). The negative part, wine pairings can't be shared. Service: Great service, very friendly, courteous and helpful. The service and knowledge of the personnel fit the restaurant. Atmosphere: Very cute and small nicely furnished restaurant that can seat around 20 people.

Yelp
Having just earned a Michelin Star in 2022, Chef Quentin Giroud's gourmet Parisian restaurant serving re-imagined French cuisine (haute) was too shiny of a penny to ignore during our November 2022 visit. The multi-course menu claimed to serve 7 courses, but I counted 10. Such beauty, precision, and creativity offered in each dish. We opted out of the wine pairing which seems to be the usual recommendation, but it mattered not. The chef with his staff operating out of their open kitchen served a supreme dinner and at a reasonable price for Michelin standard (109,00€ per person). The restaurant is tiny, as per the French norm, but actually a little more roomy than most. Expect the experience to last at least 2 hours and DO make reservations beforehand. Even on a Monday night, the restaurant attracted quite the dinner crowd. A pleasant experience you will undoubtedly have, plus your taste buds will thank you!

Yelp
Honestly one of the best food tastings I've ever had. It was such a romantic winter evening with one of the best meal and wine pairings I ever had. The servers host and service all together were so kind and welcoming. Meeting all the chefs and sous was honestly and overall one of a kind dinner. Plus I got proposed and ENGAGED in here I will come back to aspic anytime I'm in Paris again it will carry one of my most precious memories for the rest of my life. Thank you aspic

Yelp
Our 2nd to last dinner in Paris and the best experience we've had on our entire trip. At this small 10 table restaurant off the beaten path you have to: have reservations a month out and be somewhat adventurous because there is no menu whatsoever. If you have any food allergies you tell them and from that point on, you're off on a fantastic trip. You have no idea what you are going to be served. The menu changes by what is in season. All the dishes were out of the ordinary. The sauces, the presentation, the subtle flavors in each one were amazing and different. I won't try to describe each dish but we had ingredients from exotic mushrooms to quail, from fish ( pollock ? ) to fresh grapes & tomato. It's a 7 course menu but we counted at least 9. Expensive - yes - about 200 euro with the 4 wine tasting for both of us. Every table was taken and we can see why.

Yelp
My husband and I went here because of its rating and wanting to try a really nice restaurant. The food is spectacular! It was a multi course meal filled with delicious and savory flavors, ingredients, colors, and textures. There were items I never dreamed would pair well and they did. It was definitely a good learning experience about how different ingredients can give you a flavor you've never tasted before. We added the restaurant's recommended wine pairing with each course. I cannot say enough. Definitely enjoyable! Do not hesitate just go, you will have a pleasant experience!

Yelp
This restaurant is everything you heard and more! Delicious, warm , affordable, friendly and inviting, the staff in the kitchen and in the dining room really go above and beyond. When it comes to the food, of course the tasting is a surprise and you won't know what you're going to eat. But don't worry you will love the food and the wines paired with it. Everything was fresh , top quality, exciting to eat . We came here for our first anniversary and since we're foodies , we put even more pressure on the fact that the food on this special night must be great. This is what we ate and it was all damn good, we especially loved the brioche buns with compound butter , the amazing cod, the tomato salad and the milk fed lamb ! And surprisingly we were full after dinner ! Which is not always the case with a tasting menu. I've included labeled pictures.

Yelp
Absolutely, hands down the best meal I have ever had. My wife and I booked this dinner for our anniversary and knew from the reviews that it would be good based on the reviews..... they didn't even come close to describing just how good. Dinner is a set menu, so each course is a surprise. The complex balance of flavors in each dish was incredible. Nothing was "good", nothing was "decent", every single course was amazing. This is definitely not one of those places that charges a fine dining price and doesn't deliver...... they overdelivered. If we ever make it back to Paris, we will definitely be going back.

Yelp
This is the best food I have had in Paris and one of the top 5 meals I have had in my entire life. You absolutely need to make reservations and go here. The food is impeccable. Wonderfully balanced flavors and textures will make your tastebuds dance. There wasn't a dish that wasn't absolutely perfect. Octopus was one of our courses, and I loved it (and I don't like octopus). The wine selection and wine pairings were also fabulous- these people know their grapes!! Like the food and wine, the service was impeccable. A trip to Paris to just go to Aspic is worth it- seriously. I can't wait to come back again!

Yelp
OmG! So good and worth more than its current price tag! Make online reservations now if you are interested in : - Great food - Great Service - Great wine options Also one of the rare restaurants in paris that gives you adequate personal space when you are dining which enhances the experience even more!

Yelp
You never know what you are going to eat at this restaurant. It is all a surprise. Some of it is good, some mediocre. The chief is always trying new dishes, so you never know if it is going to be an A night or a B night. We had a B+. Service is good. Lots of good wines and spirits on the list. The restaurant is small so book in advance.
google avatar

Kelcey M.

Yelp
Excellent service, excellent dishes, thank you to all the staff! We ended up doing the 8-course meal with the wine pairing, I could've swore we had nine dishes though. I'm not a dessert fan but that was one of the best parts.

Yelp
Best dinning experience ever. The chef spoke with us for some time. He was super friendly and also very confident that her dinning experience at his restaurant would be the best in Paris. He was correct.

Yelp
I was in town visiting my sister and her husband and my sister made the reservations here. I had no idea what to expect other than that it was a blind menu and that the price seemed quite good. I'm thrilled to say that everything blew us away. Everything in the restaurant seemed particularly well curated. It seemed like every detail from the place settings to the food was given a lot of care and thought. Every course had some particular detail that had us impressed. Small touches like fried capers or clams accenting the center of the course made each plate just a touch more interesting. I could go into more detail on our meal, but what's the point? It is constantly changed. I can't recommend this place enough. The chef (owner?) came to our table with every course to explain what he'd prepared and the enthusiasm and honest concern for how we'd received the food was apparent. Additionally, he had a great selection of craft French liquors. I would suggest an aperitif and digestif. Very seriously though, for 7-8 courses of this quality, the 43 euro pricepoint is almost impossible to beat... So really, this falls into Yelp's "expensive" category, but for what you are buying that hardly seems fair.

Yelp
If my wife and I could give it 10 stars we would. Best food in Paris, maybe the best I've ever had...and I travel the world a lot. Small intimate restaurant with an amazing personable wait staff, super friendly and good sense of humor by all, even to American tourists which is hard to find in Paris. Chef Quentin Giroud brought out and explained most of the courses for us. This was our 1 year anniversary and they gave us a great desert with a candle and asked my wife to make a wish, followed by champagne. For the money, it was much more food then expected, served over 3 hours. Fresh, local and amazing combinations! Book early, this place is the best value anywhere! Thank you! Tom & Katie

Yelp
Could this be the best restaurant in paris now? When I walked in this place, I felt like I came to the wrong place. A very simple and small shop, more of a breakfast/brunch looking interior. We sat down. Only wine menu was offered. Next 3 hours, we had probably the best 10-course meal for this whole trip. And we met with the chef. Bill came, with less €50 per person, plus € 24 for wine. I probably would just fly to Paris for ASPIC in the future.
google avatar

Marine B.

Yelp
Great job. For €43, you have a fixed 7-course meal (but don't panic, portions are on the smaller side, so you'll finish it up easily). Everything is delicious with a touch of unexpected - I had my first octopus here, but also a parsnip purée that I still dream of (I know, that sounds crazy, but it was really out of this world!) I really loved it, and I'll go there again as soon as possible. It also doesn't harm that the place itself is super cute - perfect place for a date!

Yelp
This was by far the BEST MEAL I've EVER HAD!!! It's an open kitchen, 8 table, intimate restaurant with an AMAZING tasting menu. It's a chef's choice menu and the chef doesn't disappoint! My gf and I ordered the tasting menu with the wine pairing and LOVED everything. Little things like lime butter added such sparks to wake up your taste buds. Each course had balance, cohesion, and the flavors played perfectly together. This chef is exceptional and he should get a Michelin star soon! I purposely waited to write this review until after my lunch today at Septime, a Michelin star restaurant, and I can say with confidence that Aspic had better flavors that excited your taste buds and brought you joy. Let me also add that the chef serves plates throughout the dinner and talks to each guest at the end of service. I will return to Paris just to eat at this restaurant again! Thank you chef Quentin, I hope you get a star soon!!!
google avatar

Jen C.

Yelp
We chose to come here instead of Joel Robuchon's restaurant, whose tasting menu was more expensive and had some less than stellar reviews. ASPIC exceeded all my expectations. It was maybe the best meal we had in Paris and (I don't say this often) worth every penny. The service and presentation were impeccable, and most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious (I think there was only one dish that was a miss for me). ASPIC was a rare steal in Paris!
google avatar

Sheri W.

Yelp
Fantastic meal, amazing service, delicious wine! We had an incredible experience! 7 course meal....each course was full of flavor. Best meal in Paris, thus far!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Went with my GF for dinner, I also got the wine pairing. The experience was great and Aspic is now my favorite restaurant. According to our waiter, menu item change monthly, we received 10 different dishes and each one was amazing, inventive and delicious. Interesting flavor combinations and great presentation of each plate. Wine pairing is advised and they are very generous with their pours. The chef came out to take a picture at the end of the night with us. A must eat for anybody in Paris!
google avatar

Thomas R.

Yelp
The service was phenomenal! Very friendly group. The chef is even bringing out each plate to the customers and describing it. You can see the passion in him every time he describes a plate of food. It's a beautiful place and a great place to go for a memorable meal. The staff speaks English very well if you do not speak French. I will definitely be back every time I am in Paris!

Natalie F.

Yelp
One of the most amazing meals I've ever had! Absolutely would recommend to anyone. The servers were so helpful and kind, and told us all about each of the 9 courses served. 100% worth the price, and it was the perfect ending to our vacation. I cannot recommend it enough to anyone visiting Paris, or to anyone in the area.

Martin J.

Yelp
Very good cooking and polite service. Unforgettable experience. There is a reason why this is currently rated #1 on Tripadvisor.
