I was in the area to pick up lunch, but I had some time to spare before it was actually ready for pick up. Decided to give into my sweet tooth craving and pick up a few items here!
The bakery was open during COVID with proper measures in place - dividers, distanced waiting areas and gloves/masks all around. When you walk in, there's baked goodies to your right and then cakes and mini desserts in the fridge to your left. I browsed my options. I knew I wanted a tiramisu and saw one of them in the display case with a missing strawberry, so I was like, I hope they don't give me that one lol
With a short window to grab something (and on an empty stomach), I chose three items: Tiramisu, Napoleon and Fruit Tart. I watched the lady select each item and she totally picked the tiramisu without the strawberry perfectly placed on top. I didn't say anything, but it did irk me that there were perfectly 6 other tiramisu cups that didn't have that issue. Like why?
Anyway, the total was $15.87. I left kinda confused how that happened. There are no prices on the display window so I really didn't know what I was getting into, but found out later it was determined by weight. Oh womp, impulse buy got me good today haha.
At least they packaged it up nicely with a ribbon and all. I noticed there was a disclaimer that they don't use preservatives, so it's recommended that they be refrigerated immediately and consumed with 48 hours.
The Napoleon really hit the spot, but the powdered sugar on top was a bit too much for me. It made it really sweet. The custard was delicious and the layers were crisp in some areas. The tiramisu is a classic fave and I'll keep you updated on the fruit tart.
