"This Rosslyn food hall from Chicago-based DMK Restaurants opened its doors to the public in late August. Unlike other food halls where diners might wander from stall to stall, Assembly seats customers at tables where they can order food directly to their seats using a QR code. The 625-seat space was designed to appeal to remote workers, with daytime food options ranging from coffee, pastries, and quick lunch bites. In total, Assembly boasts six different food “concepts” ranging from tacos to Asian street food to grain bowls. There’s a beer, wine, and cocktail menu as well, and happy hour specials are offered at its indoor lounge and outdoor terrace." - Kalina Newman, Eater Staff

Live & hype venue which always hosts professional crowd with a good choice of food and laid back service. Love this place for after-work diner & drink! From the menu, the “Jive” is the best Turkey BLT in the DMV area✨

My friend and I went here for an end of summer dinner and it was delicious. So this food hall is located in my town city up the road from us so I had high expectations. Decor/Aesthetic - it’s beautifully designed. I was in awe and I am taking some of these design ideas for my own home. WiFi is available and free. Plugs by the community shared tables. Nice outdoor patio seating. Plenty of spots to have an intimate dinner or laugh out loud friend or coworker gathering. Food - It was tasty food in general. Delicious. I personally think the shrimp dish is overpriced for the small amount of shrimp you get. The mussels were the perfect amount and price. In general you will pay a tab bit more here, but some dishes are worth it in my opinion. Bathroom- Two unisex bathrooms. It was clean and pleasant for a public restroom. Water - They have a water station to get your own water which the option of flat or carbonated water. This is great feature in my opinion, but some of the glass bottles were sticky so I did have a bit of nasty moment getting the water. Service- Friendly staff and we ordered from our phone. I think communicating the correct table was confusing because my friend had to go talk with the staff to ensure they delivered the food to the right table. Overall- I would recommend this place for a good meal, but just be wise what you select from a price perspective.

Truly a great space. It's huge and varied with its types of good stations and sitting areas. They leverage tech in such a fashion that where you sit out where you order over your phone, good is bright to you. The food is hit or miss. The hamburger was amazing! The mussels were a little odd - broth on the traditional model, the pizza solid. The drinks have been a bit inconsistent in the few times I've been there. Both great, and than not great. I think long term they'll work out the kinks, and this place has a load of potential.

Update: my son and I came here for brunch and this place did not disappoint. Very affordable and nice portion. The steak, eggs and crispy potatoes was amazing! Again, I recommend this place! If you’re looking for an affordable happy hour with cafe vibe where you can do some work/homework, then this is the spot for you. Located right above the the Rosslyn metro stop, this place has it all. Assembly is composed of 4 different restaurants and you can order dishes from all 4 at the same time. Not only that, there are outlet available for your laptops and phone to charge. Quiet enough to do some work but hype enough so you can stay and attend whatever events they have planned. The food was delicious, affordable and portioned well. Highly recommend this place if you’re on a budget but still want to enjoy yourself. Also, the staff was very polite and welcoming and our server was very attentive.

Google
The area inside is a collection of restaurants that serve the entire floor. The selections are numerous and the vibe is excellent. Seems to cater to young and middle professionals. The food had an attractive presentation but the spices are missing resulting in bland food. That’s too bad because the vibe is happy and welcoming.

I used to love to come to assembly to grab food, a coffee, and do some work. After my most recent visit, I unfortunately don’t think I will be back. The bathrooms were not clean whatsoever, and the booths/tables needed a serious wipe down. I came during a very slow time and saw numerous staff members available to do a quick wipe down of the seating area. Hopefully they can make appropriate changes.

Beautiful space. Food are not that exciting. Food can be order through QR code or through bartenders if you seating at the bar. There's a woman standing behind guest service desk you can order through her as well. Pick a table and don't move because the food runner wont be able to find you or someone will take your seat. Big space but only two unisex bathroom.

Google
Cute place with a wide range of options for food and drinks. They have happy hour deals. Doesn’t get too crowded so it’s easy to get a table. And the online ordering process is very convenient. My disappointment was mainly with the food. Ordered the crab Mac and cheese and it was very bland. Good sized portion but lacked flavor. And the shrimp burrito was also pretty tasteless. I’d go back for drinks but would be hesitant to order food again. Other things to note is limited parking availability. And finally, was disappointed when a server asked us to move from one of the “rooms/sections” to accommodate a group. As far as I could tell, there was no reservation for that space (I didn’t see any signs that the space/tables were reserved) and it seemed this was a last minute request from the group. I get trying to be accommodating but it seemed to inconvenience some and defeat the purpose of an “open concept” location.

Yelp
This place is wonderful! They are open as early as 11AM and it is open all day! You can have a great cocktail at noon with many food to choose from! It looks like a food hall, but they have table service. 1. Drinks: amazing! Even their old fashioned was great, which is hard to come by. The rosslyn drink is girly and delicious, meanwhile the espresso martini is as good as it comes. Ask for Leo if you want to make sure your drinks are great! 2. Food: delicious tacos, burger, calamari, guacamole all were good. I was not a fan of their oysters though, even though this is something I love. 3. Service: top notch. You can literally sit here all day and eat all your 3 meals and they won't rush you or anything. You can hold dates, meetings, business meetings, get together, you name it. Very versatile space. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Assembly is not your typical food hall. It's like an elevated version of a food hall, where the ambience is modern and the seating is comfortable and spacious. You can either choose to sit and wait for a server, or order directly to your table with the QR code on your table. There is also the option of bar seating for any one specific food stand. I ordered a burger from Great Lake Diner. $15 for a burger and fries was a little steep. The burger was very large, to the point where it was difficult to eat (especially with me being careful not to stain my work clothes). But it was a pretty good burger, patty was slightly dry but that's the only major complaint. Definitely above the level of McDonald's but not quite worth $15. If I were to return, I'd try a different food stand. Perhaps the Asian one, since there aren't many Asian options in the vicinity.

Yelp
I love this place! And it's not because of their food or drinks, which are quite pricey, but because it's an amazing place to work. I like to work at coffee shops, and Assembly has everything I needed: plenty of space, a lot of outlets, somewhat quiet during a work day (ie it's very empty outside lunch and happy hours), many options for food and drinks and coffee to fuel you through the day. The place is full of natural light and it had a nice terrace. There were a few times I spent more than half of my day here lol. They host corporate events often and it could get somewhat crowded after work hours though. Honestly the food and drink aren't bad, but they are expensive. We got a kung pao shrimp rice bowl with like 4 shrimps and some bok choy for $20. Well, I could definitely find a cheaper eat in the neighborhood. Overall, if you're like me and just want a place to do some work, this is amazing.

Yelp
This was my first time at Assembly, it's a food hall style set up, that house different types of restaurants and food all on one menu. The overall concept is cool because you can be served, or you can sit secluded and order from the QR code through the toast app and they bring your food too you. There are pros and cons to this type of style but I will say the staff was very helpful, and my food runner/waiter was awesome, the cons to this set up being how big the food hall is that if you don't sit near the main area you can get forgotten, when it comes to things such has needed a condiment or if there is a problem with your food. You must hope someone on the staff comes around or be forced to get up and find someone. As for the food I got the burger of the month from Great Lake Diner. The burger lacked seasoning and was very bland, which did nothing for the toppings, and it also didn't have enough sauce which made it a very dry burger with no taste. The star of the show was the tots, they do give you a ton and they were fried to perfection. My wife ordered the peal and eat shrimp from The Point. Beware they put so much old bay on the shrimp we felt like we were eating seasoning, it was unbearable, but they were nice enough to make another one with no seasoning and put the old bay on the side. Out of both of our dishes the tots were the winner which tells you a lot. The space and vives here are cool, the concept is ok too. If I did come back, it more than likely will be for drinks with a friend for happy hour. There is a ton of options and maybe we just ordered the wrong things, but it doesn't give me confidence to try another full price menu item. I suggest doing a happy hour to ease you pockets and palette into some dishes you may like, if not just stick to the drinks.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this place but I have mixed feelings.. The entrance was hard to find. The service was too quick it was very suspicious. We ordered tacos, chicken noodles, and some kind of cheesesteak sandwich and they arrived within 5 min or less. My horchata drink came 5-10 min after getting our food. Makes me wonder if our food were just reheated. The food tasted good but I'm not sure if it's just because we were so hungry. My sandwich came with fries and most of the fries were soggy. All in all we paid somewhere between 80-90$ and I thought that was too steep for what we got. The place has so much potential but I don't think I'll go back again..

Yelp
Love this gigantic, modern food hall in the middle of Arlington. Can order from QR codes or server from several outlets, which is so much better than waiting in lines and counter service. Have been a couple times and all of the food I have had is good. Check hours, as it's not always open when you would assume, or all venues are not available. Pic below is from brunch, the breakfast burrito and tots were a perfect combo. It's always shockingly empty when I have been in here, but maybe during off peak times. There's some great outdoor seating as well. My only wish would be they had some stairs to get there so we could bring our dog. Keep up the great work.

Yelp
What sets Assembly apart from other food halls I've been to is the service - you can order from all the different vendors easily from any table using the QR codes, and they bring the food to you. They even brought a water pitcher which I would normally only expect at an actual sitdown restaurant. I did notice that a lot of the menu items were out of stock or unavailable: not sure if that's a common occurrence or if I just came on the wrong day. But they have plenty of variety so it wasn't much of an issue for me. The cafe area is also a great place to work as they have a long seating area with plenty of table space. The food itself is alright. I got the Uncle Paul sandwich, which was good, especially if you like bell peppers, but was a bit greasy. The fries were not great although they did give a lot of them. I thought the iced vanilla latte was decent, but the flavor of the vanilla syrup was a bit strong. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the snickerdoodle - first of all, it's huge, and it was also pretty moist with a slight lemony taste.

Yelp
Assembly is a new modern food hall located in a prime location in Rosslyn. The space consists of lounges, dining rooms, work tables, an outdoor terrace, and private rooms. Which makes for a perfect experience for anyone who visits. Upon arriving you find a seat and scan the QR located on your table. A server will then come over to bring you water and your orders from the various restaurants. During my visit at lunch time I opted to try a variety of seafood dishes which include the crab tots, shellfish chowder, crispy deviled eggs and grilled shrimp from Great Lake Diner. The crispy deviled eggs were my favorite, they were flavorful and topped with a lot of crab meat. Unfortunately, my least favorite were the shellfish chowder and the crab tots. Although the shellfish chowder was full of seafood it lacked seasoning/ flavor and the consistency was a little thin. As for the crab tots the presentation was amazing but something was off about the texture and more importantly the flavor. I can't quite put my finger on it but it may have been to much tarragon. All in all I enjoyed my visit to Assembly and will be back to check out what some of the other restaurants have to offer and "weekly happenings". I hear they have great happy hour deals from 3:00 to 6:00pm.

Yelp
Spacious food hall with a variety of vendors. The menu is quite extensive with 1/2 dozen vendors, mostly meat and potatoes and comfort food with also Asian street food, tacos, smoothies. An interesting mix! I ordered through the QR code. The waiter was nice, but messed up my order and served me a Margherita pizza instead of Mushroom flatbread. 25 min later I was squared away! The ginormous Mushroom flatbread from Great Lake Diner was bursting with flavor from a variety of cheeses and herbs - gruyere, parmesan, ricotta, and thyme. The flatbread was simple, but really tasty. It had a total of 16 square pieces, (3-4 slices were quite filling!) and had lots of great leftover meals! I enjoyed the Miami Heat cocktail with hibiscus ginger beer, rum, and mint. Well balanced with a slight boozy kick! I wasn't a fan of the Red Sangria, it was very dry and the Brandy was overpowering. A bit too boozy! Another waitress sensed my dissatisfaction and kindly swapped it out for another round of the Miami Heat cocktail (no complaints there!). Would be nice to see more more vegetarian options on the menu and diverse vendors like Indian, Thai, dumplings, sushi, or wood-fired pizza. Fun to try and would come back if I'm in the area for the Mushroom Flatbread and another round of the Miami Heat cocktail, and explore more dishes on the menu!

Yelp
What a unique concept of a food court! PRO-TIP: Come for Happy Hour deals 3-6pm. Or come work from home here (free wifi and plenty of outlets)! Everything inside is pristinely clean and innovative. To order, you sit down and order with a QR code instead of walking around to each food stall. It's in such a good location, right next to the Rosslyn metro stop. SERVICE: 5/5 - The wait-staff was super attentive, especially since they have to serve for several different restaurants. Tables and seating areas were so clean and food came out within 10 minutes after ordering. FOOD: - BIG DIY COFFEE: (Matcha latte - 5/5) For coffee, you still need to order at the food stand. I got a lightly sweetened matcha oat milk latte and it was perfect. Not to sweet, but not to plain. The prices here for coffee and drinks are cheaper than what you'd find at Starbucks and the quality is so good! - SAMMY PICKLES: (Uncle Paul Sandwich - 4.5/5) My sandwich was essentially a fancy philly cheesesteak and it was so good! The meal itself was super filling since the sandwich was so big and it comes with a side of fries. I'd recommend splitting this meal if you're not too hungry. Meal was a little pricey for what it was, hence the 0.5 deduction. Items here can get a little expensive, which is why I recommend coming during happy hour for better deals, but if you're willing to spend a little, this place is a great option to explore at any time of the day!

Yelp
I have been wanting to check this spot out and it ended up being a disappointment. The seating area is very spacious and plenty of seatings and tables. The look and feel of this place was very modern and upscale place to hangout and work at. Note: bring a sweater!!!! The ac was blast so high it was pretty uncomfortable. There are QR codes at each table for you to scan and order from. It is pretty convenient where you don't have to go around looking for the item you ordered, a staff member will bring it to you. The staff was very nice and friendly. My friend and I both ordered our morning drinks, she ordered a iced latte and I ordered a ice chai latte. We both agreed that the drinks were horrible. Hers lacked flavor, just bland, can't taste the coffee. Mine just tasted like straight milk, no flavor to it. She ordered their assembly breakfast and did not enjoy it. Definitely a less than average quality of a breakfast. Said it was not good and caused her to have an upset stomach after eating it. I feel like this spot could have real awesome potential, but it just seems like a less than mediocre spot with their drinks and food scene, if they got the quality of the drinks and food down, it would be a pretty enjoyable spot to be at. It was such a disappointing spot, we had planned to be there longer but left to go elsewhere.

Yelp
My group of 5 had a great first visit. Service was super fast and portions were generous. The outdoor patio is very nice. Happy hour goes until 6:30. I highly recommend the edamame dumplings and the blackberry old fashioned!

Aaron W.

Yelp
I went here for a couple meals recently on a business trip and was impressed! Great concept of a cafeteria layout (very spacious, informal vibe), but you order from a menu at your table via a QR code. The food is cheaper than a restaurant and better than a cafeteria where you order at countertops. The only thing you lose is attentive table service, but that isn't so important to me. Good for all party sizes, whether you have a group or just want to sit at a small table and read while you eat. They have a huge menu, which is one reason why I went twice (and will go back!). For my first meal (lunch) I got the pesto rice bowl, which had *a lot* of rice. It just kept coming. But it was very yummy rice. The small tofu add-on was a bit pricey at $8 but otherwise good. The bowl had some veggie garnishes. I also tried one of their juices, a cucumber/pineapple mix. It was indeed green and quite refreshing. A bit too much ice for me (more juice/less ice would have been better). For my second meal (dinner), I started with a $5 happy hour special of black bean dip with chips. The dip was very smooth (would have liked it chunkier) but tasty and the chips were decadent. Great price, too. I also had a side of crispy brussels sprouts (one of my favorites). They were very crispy (yum) and nice and hot. Finally I had a burger with a side salad. The burger was big and very juicy, with a generous pile of mushrooms and onions on top. A tad less sauce would have been good. The salad was a-ok.

Eileen C.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this experience here! The space is modern, clean, and easy to navigate. You can either choose to have a server or just use a QR code (which is what I went with). What I love about it is that you can order from a variety of places simultaneously and satisfy all of your cravings!!! We got oysters, lobster Mac and cheese, and burger with tots. It's a little over priced but I think for the ease and quickness, it's worth it. Also a great place to WFH or for happy hour as they have cocktails!

LeAnn F.

Yelp
I love how this place has so much seating for studying and working. It has an outdoor patio. Not crowded at all. It is pretty quiet here too. The staff come up to your table and you can also the scan the menu. It is right above Rosslyn Metro. There is plenty of options like seafood, latin cuisine, brunch, bar, Big Day Coffee, Japanese, and Chinese food. I got the Matcha latte which needed to be mixed more because you could taste the earthiness of it. The Xiang long bao we're tiny portions for pork and chicken Thai basil. The Maryland Crab soup has little kick to it. I did enjoy the Smoked Salmon Benedict with tater tots for $15. Prices here range from like $12-24. I would recommend coming here if you need a quick and fast meal or place to work.

Linda V.

Yelp
First and foremost this place has a great space and ambiance as far as meeting with friends or getting some work done goes. Endless amount of indoor and outdoor comfortable seating with the feeling that your maybe somewhere other than Roslyn VA. With that being said I would love to come back here to chill grab some coffee or smoothie and meet with a friend, but the food wasn't all that great. The drinks were some margarita drinks that were watered down and had very little alcohol in it at all almost like the dollaritas they are offering at apple bees. The Mac and cheese with crab and lobster had cold lobster on top and very little cheese it was pretty much just cavatapi noodles tossed with some cold lobster and crab. The smell was very off and taste was even more weird. The shrimp po boy was ok but the shrimp was a bit rubbery and the bread it was in could've been cut down a little more to hold the shrimp Everytime I took a bite the shrimp would fall out of the bread cause of the lack of space the bread had to hold onto them. The best thing and I say that with a stretch was the sweet potato fries and even those could've used a little more dash of salt but none the less edible and fried to perfection. The apple pie was also a disappointment, but whole pie came apart when trying to take one bite. Apples inside the pie was different temps some warm some ice cold, it also had no sweet flavor and only tasted sweet cause of the caramel sauce they drizzled on top. Overall there are still more places to try and my three stars are because of the space more so than anything. I love a good hangout spot so I'm giving more credit to that. As for the food I'd be willing to try something else but not in a rush to do so.

Yelp
Seafood was what I was craving for the evening, so my meal revolved around that element. The winner of the evening for me was the Blondie Sundae. The serving size was enormous and I wish I could have eaten the whole bowl because the blondies were sooooo good!

Sarah K.

Yelp
Cute coffee stand in this shopping area! Was well pleased with my vanilla latte. Great seating to study at as well! Will be coming back

Charmaine C.

Yelp
Great happy hour menu and prices! The Old Fashioned was made slightly different from the last time and it was perfect! The Bok Choy served with a sauce of ginger, garlic, shallots and side of chili. It had a nice crunch and for $3.95 ... wonderful! Service by Walter and Roberto was excellent!

Elly C.

Yelp
Assembly hall itself was nice and the employees were kind and helpful. The outdoor area was great and there was a lot of seating inside as well. We got take out from Great Lakes and Sammy Pickles, we had the meatloaf and sausage and pepper flat bread as entrees from Great Lakes and a side of sweet potato fries and the Brussels appetizer. From Sammy Pickles we got the jive sandwich also with sweet potato fries. The Jive sandwich was by far the best thing we got. Granted it was to go, but the meatloaf, fries, and flatbread were just okay, the Brussels were pretty good though. Would go back for Sammy Pickles.

Wilton P.

Yelp
I ate here today for lunch with my girl. We decide to try some of seafood dishes, so we ordered the shrimp po'boy from Great Lakes Diner, the lobster mac and cheese from the point, and the fish tacos from Charo's. We also tried the 1700 juice from Gigi. First, it's funny how a lot of the new food halls popping up around the area, and nationwide, provide the false impression that each stall is it's own unique entity when it reality they're all owned and operated by the same company, just with different themes and menus. That's obviously the case here at the Assembly. One of the things that tipped me off is that all the food we tried was mediocre or sub par, at best. The fish tacos lacked seasoning and were a pretty small portion for the price. They were served with too much meh flavored tomatillo salsa and cabbage slaw to cover the fact that you get a tiny piece of fish. However, I did appreciate that it was served on a freshly made tortilla. The side salad that came with it was dressed in the most boring, tasteless dressing known to man - it was probably just vegetable oil and a spritz of lemon. The shrimp po' boy was our favorite for its nicely seasoned crispy shrimp with roasted geflickt mayo sauce. But it should be called the poorest boy because it was more of a shrimp roll than a tradition sandwich since it was served on a Hot Dog bun instead of a sub/hero sandwich bread. It also came with 5 measly shrimp. The fries it came with were great, I must say. Now here comes the biggest, and priciest, disappoint : the lobster mac and cheese. First, I'll mention what we did like about the dish, which was that it was made with cavatappi pasta - the undisputed king of pasta for Mac and cheese ,in our opinion. Now the bad, the dish just lacked flavor and seasoning . This was largely because it was made using a Béchamel sauce which wasn't fortified with good cheeses. Often time, restaurants will use Béchamels, which are essentially a white gravy, to save money so that they don't have to buy expensive, flavorful, cheeses like a smoked Gouda or Gruyère. That's obviously what the Point was aiming for. It tasted of white paste with a mild seafood flavor from the lobster. Just avoid that dish in general. I will say that the service is great. Everyone was super friendly and the food was delivered quickly. I will likely give this place another chance and try some of the other stalls. It's a welcome addition to the neighborhood, but they need to step up their game to compete with some of the mom and pop places nearby.

Yelp
Came for 12:00 lunch on Tuesday. I love the multi-restaurant theme they have going. You choose your seat and can order straight from your phone via table-assigned QR codes. My friend and I ordered appetizers from one restaurant, entrees from another, and coffee from their coffee shop, all in one order. Service was much faster than expected. The first wave of food came out about 7-10 minutes after ordering. The bussers and waiters were prompt and helpful. Food portions were surprisingly a lot for our salad, soups and grilled cheese plates. We also ordered the Xiao long baos and deviled eggs. I would not recommend the eggs, nothing special about em. We ordered a dirty chai and matcha latte that were pretty good. Overall a good spot for lunch with a nice view overlooking Rosslyn and good options for big groups / outdoor seating.

Angel P.

Yelp
Assembly is a "modern" food fall, right above the Rosslyn Metro. It has a full bar and an outdoor dining terrace for those nice warm days. You order online using the QR code at your table and the food will be brought to you. The food is a bit pricey for a food hall. I ended up getting the "Scarlett" (crispy butternut squash, harissa aioli, pickled peppers, arugula, whole wheat bread) from Sammy Pickles. I enjoyed the harissa aioli and crispy butternut squash. Regarding portion size, I think it's pretty good for being in a pricey food hall. The sandwich and fries definitely filled me up. My friend got the xiao long bao and she said it was good. (I didn't try it so I cannot comment on it). However, for the cost, the portion is on the smaller size so she had to get two orders to fill up. We came on a weekday night so it wasn't very busy except for the dining terrace since it was a warm spring day. A worker gave us a free donut (strawberry frosted donut), however it was too sweet (for my liking), and a bit stale. They were probably trying to get rid of donuts that day.

Eric R.

Yelp
Just what I needed for a refreshing post workout brunch. Had a classic mimosa and a large and filling yogurt granola parfait, with a generous amount of toppings. Attentive service but not overly so.

Jeremy G.

Yelp
Most confusing dining experience I have ever had. Poor service. Mediocre food. Beautiful aesthetic. The food is reasonably priced, but the portions are small. The cauliflower tacos were just okay. They were in hard tortillas, which was disappointing. There was barely anything inside of them and at first bite, they completely fell apart. Pros: Whoever built this place certainly has an eye for design. The interior aesthetic is beautiful and the food plating is nice. Cons: The concept: It is set up like and marketed as a traditional food hall, yet it is not. At least for dinner its not. It's actually a seated menu experience. We were confused when we arrived, but someone behind a random podium told us we could sit wherever we want and a server would come over. It is set up like a maze of small rooms surrounding an open area where the individually-themed kitchens are. The Service: After sitting down, it took about 15 minutes for someone to bring us menus. We were about to leave, but then someone who told us they were not our waiter brought us a water pitcher, but no cups. We asked for cups, which took another 5 minutes. Eventually we went looking for help and someone came and took our order. There were a few seasonal items and specials, but the waiter didn't remember them. We ordered 2 drinks and 2 menu items. One glass of wine came right away. Then one entre came. At that time, we asked the person who brought the entre about the beer, and he said he doesn't do that since he just brings the food, but he can ask. Eventually the beer came, and then the second entre. Lastly, we ordered a dessert and 10 minutes later the server came back to tell us they were our of that item. Instead, we ordered the crème brûlée. However, an apple crumble came instead. We were so tired of trying to find the server and asking for things that we just got the check and left. I had high hopes for this place, but sadly I don't think I'll be coming back here anytime soon. P.S. half of the venue was closed for a retirement party? It was really really weird.

Yelp
Super light and chic space where you can work remotely or grab a drink with friends, love how cross-functional it is! The mobile ordering is quick and easy and the staff are super helpful

Yelp
About the only thing that's true about this place is its name. It's an 'assembly' of food options. The food is subpar (Steak Frites was poorly cooked), even for this type of dining service. But the one-star rating is 100% due to the lousy and atrocious service. The staff was underwhelming, confused, untrained, illiterate, and just completely inexperienced to simply take an order. Will not repeat.

Yelp
A cute food hall right by the Rosslyn Metro. I've been waiting for this construction to be done for quite some time. Overall, the Assembly is a great spot for a quick lunch, a meeting, or happy hour. I came twice in one day - once for breakfast and once for lunch. I was excited to see many options for outlets and usb charging. You can order with the QR code on your table from a variety of restaurants. The order will come straight to your table. Service was great and quick for me! For breakfast, I got the Veggie Breakfast Burrito and Coffee from Big Day. Nothing too exciting, but not bad either. For lunch, I ordered the Salmon BLT with sweet potato fries from Sammy Pickles. It's more on the pricy end but the sandwich was phenomenal. Salmon wasn't overcooked and the perfect size for a sandwich. The sweet potato fries stole the show for me! Perfectly fried in a waffle fashion. I could not stop eating!!

Yelp
Overall, it's a 3.5/5, but will bump it to a 4/5. Right off the bat, this food hall was initially confusing to me because it's modern and bougie, where you order online using a smart phone and then a server will bring your food to you when it's ready. There is a variety of vendors you can order from, ranging from tacos to coffee to sandwiches. While the food here is pretty pricy for a food hall, the portion sizes are large and the presentation is up to par with normal restaurants. I came here with a bigger group and we all agree that the sandwiches here (along with the fries and tater tots which both came out hot, fresh and crispy - super addictive!!) are the most worth it in terms of taste, quality, and price! The Jive (turkey + BLT) is delicious and comes with a large side of tater tots! My other friend got the "Grandpa Bob" which is basically a corned beef and he thought it was delicious. The vendor for sandwiches is "Sammy Pickles". The flatbreads from "Great Lakes Diner" are also very large but my friend thought his flatbread was underwhelming and probably wouldn't get it again. Lastly, we tried the "blueberry snickerdoodle cookie" from "The Big Day" coffee vendor. I thought this was a really unique combo of two things I enjoyed so I knew I had to grab it. Overall, the flavor of the cookie was amazing. Both blueberry and snickerdoodle shined through and complimented each other well - very memorable. But the texture of the cookie was pretty sad. It wasn't oven-fresh soft or crispy/crunchy - something in between which made it underwhelming. But definitely give it a try if you mainly care about the taste!

Yelp
ROSSLYN, Va. - This place is exactly why Yelp needs the ability to give reviews on half-star increments. Perfectly 3.5-star, 3.75-star experience on a Saturday early evening: food was fine, nothing to complain about; service was good; ambience was so-so as the outside deck had napkins and other litter on the ground. The conceit is it's kind of multiple restaurants in one - you sit, use QR code to order fishes from multiple 'restaurants' like a seafood place or burger joint or salads place, all brought to your table, one bill. We had the black bean hummus dip appetizer - black bean hummus dip and potato chips, perfectly there, doubt I'd order again ($6); she had the carne asada tacos, again perfectly decent. Must admit very generous with the guac on the tacos ($15); I had the crispy shrimp burrito ($15), decent size, worthwhile; and a beer ($7). One slight annoyance is neither the print menu nor QR code ordering system gives photos or substantial enough descriptions. Would we go back? If in Rosslyn, perhaps, but not making a trip to go there. It overall was fine.

Yelp
Great study spot for any day of the week! Provides a ton of food options from different restaurants. The ambiance is pleasant, my go to place for a study/ coffee date in Rosslyn. They are closed on Sunday just FYI!

Yelp
Above the Rosslyn Metro is the latest in the country's food hall craze. Very different from D.C.'s Union Market in its own dedicated building, Assembly is on the second floor of an office building. It creates a different feel, but it's still worth a visit. Here's what to know: 1) Food: The food hall is set up to be a one stop shop with coffee, pastries, smoothies, salads, sandwiches, noodles, etc. If you dine in, sit at any table, scan the QR code on the table and order from any of the 6+ vendors. You can also order takeout via an easy-to-use online portal. I picked up takeout dinner on an October Friday around 5pm and it was ready within ten minutes from ordering. My daughter enjoyed the gourmet mac and cheese (it comes topped with breadcrumbs). My po boy sandwich was good, but the fries were not. Opt for the side salad. My housemate loves the chicken paillard. 2) Drinks: They have a full service bar. 3) Space: It's well-designed with modern tables, chairs, etc. It's an inviting space. They even have an outdoor patio perfect during the pandemic. 4) Amenities: There are plenty of seats and I saw many people working from different corners. They also have free wifi. Assembly is open Monday-Friday starting at 7 a.m. Lunch service doesn't begin until 11 a.m.

Yelp
This is a nice place, with good food, and good drinks. It would be a much nicer place and way more people would enjoy it if dogs were allowed on the patio. Think about it. Arlington is very dog friendly except for Assembly . Add dogs and it's a 4 star place..

Yelp
What a spacious place to eat and get work done! There are lots of chargers and table seating everywhere. The service is great! You can order your food and pay online with the QR code. The food was delicious. My new favorite place.

Yelp
Food at Assembly is very good! The servers are kind and helpful. The system of ordering and the way food is brought to tables is COMPLETELY TERRIBLE. Please implement some kind of system where the name of the customer or an order number is associated with the purchased item by default. Extremely frustrating to not receive what's ordered, and this has been a problem at Assembly ever since it opened-- that is, years. Please fix!!

Matt W.

Yelp
The Assembly is an upscale food hall with gorgeous outdoor views and a very mobile-centric ordering system where you order via QR Code. The bummer for me is that on my second visit there, the service was a miss. I was there with my brother who had special needs -- he is on several restrictive diets due to GI concerns and has several sensory needs since he has Autism. There is no food at the Assembly that he would have been able to eat. For most places we take him, they totally understand -- they let him eat his meal, we order our meal, and they don't lose business because they can't meet the needs of one (very picky) member of our household. When we were there, a person really pushed back on my brother from doing this. While we were able to explain it to them, this person kept asking us when we were ready to order and hovering over us. This caused us to rush and panic order, making several poor choices, and it ultimately ruined my brother's ability to sit and enjoy since we were trying to rush out. I don't want to blame the employee here because truth be told, I don't know what the situation is. For all I know, he's just trying to fulfill his job duties because of leadership pressures, and I sympathize with that. But in all, there is clearly something in the policies here that changed since my first visit with my brother, where everyone immediately understood our plight, to this visit where it felt like we were being judged for it. Out of all the restaurants and food halls I went to in Philadelphia, NYC, DC, and beyond -- this is the only one that ever had issues with my brother. Makes you wonder what happened.

Yelp
I recently visited "Assembly" with high expectations, only to be profoundly disappointed by the quality of the food. We ordered the fried chicken and fries, along with a crispy shrimp burrito, and it was a regrettable decision. The fried chicken and fries tasted old, as if they had been sitting around for far too long. The crispy shrimp burrito was equally disappointing, lacking the promised contents and leaving us with a barely edible meal. It was not just bad; it was downright disgusting. Adding to the frustration, attempts to address our concerns were met with frustration as there is no reachable phone number. Instead, all calls lead to a voicemail abyss, leaving us without any recourse for expressing our dissatisfaction. I strongly advise potential patrons to steer clear of "Assembly." The dismal food quality, coupled with the lack of customer support, makes it an establishment to avoid. Save yourself the disappointment, and look elsewhere for a satisfying dining experience. We certainly won't be returning, and I encourage others to heed this warning.

Yelp
- Second floor with an outside balcony - Happy hour 3pm-7pm - There are a couple of different vendors and you can order anything from anywhere. They will bring it to you. - The interior is beautiful; bright, pale, great seating options - Good for groups of people - Food is ok though

Yelp
It can't decide if it's a food hall or a restaurant and that's a problem because it makes the whole thing disjointed without providing the actual food hall benefits of different concepts from different chefs at different price points. There are different food stations but you order from a single consolidated menu and they bring the food and beverage to your table, but you have to get your own water? I like the idea of a genuine food hall where you can order separately but have the added convenience of being able to order from a consolidated menu at your table, however this is really just a single restaurant that spent a lot of expensive square footage on having multiple open air kitchens preparing different parts of the menu. I am really skeptical of this concept. The space is absolutely gorgeous - I almost considered adding a 4th star just for that. Rosslyn needed a beautiful, elevated space like this where people can hang out. Like a different planet from the creepy metro mall that used to occupy that location. The other good thing was that the people - for the level of service provided- seem knowledgeable, efficient and invested. But because of the hybrid concept things are discombobulated - I was almost done with my food before my friend's food arrived, and the people bringing out food and beverages got regularly confused when a large group near us moved their tables together but all ordered separately (also one dude was legit just eating some Chipotle he brought in). Of course, my finishing my food quickly was a byproduct of the fact that the value for my food was awful. I paid $13 for the noodles and tofu and got a side dish portion of really basic noodles drenched in sesame oil. My partner's margarita flatbread was large and tasty and correctly priced, and the sandwiches coming out around us looked big and beautifully made. But I somehow spent $21 for a lunch of noodles and kombucha and walked away starving and unhappy. And some of the items were over $20 - fine for a sit down dinner, but not for a place focused on workday lunches in a casual food hall (sort of) environment (they're not even open on weekends). Again, if this place knew what it was there might have been more consistency. There's just enough separation of the concepts to create confusion but without the actual food hall benefits of different price points, approaches, etc. since all the concepts at Assembly are through the same company and chef. Tl;dr, could have been an elevated, order at the counter sandwich joint and cut out all the confusing bureaucracy. A lot more time was spent on concept and aesthetics than on actual execution. If you're not tethered to Rosslyn, go to Union Market.

Yelp
This is an "assembly " of multi restaurants under one roof to accommodate one or a big party. We were a party of 2 and was glad to be seated by the window for the downtown view. Just got into town so just ordered chips w/salsa and glass of Chardonnay for happy hour that was brought to us very fast by friendly waiter. It seems to be a popular place for young professionals and students (maybe w/backpacks) Saw suits and ties and shorts and sneakers so no dress code

Yelp
I'm thrilled to have such a lovely new coffee shop/happy hour/restaurant space available in the heart of Rosslyn. The new Assembly space is large, industrial, and beautifully decorated, and with tons of seating and outlets available, it has already become my new go-to neighborhood spot for getting some work done during the week. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces have great natural light and views around the main Rosslyn square, making it a great spot to go for both remotely working and catching up with friends. The food (albeit a little pricey) is delicious and fresh, and the employees have gone above and beyond with their service. I'm looking forward to see how Assembly's menus and events evolve as the food hall settles in (hopefully with some added breakfast options!) and can't wait to try more dishes.

Yelp
I thought it was great! It's centrally located on Moore St. and Wilson Blvd. There is an entrance to the food hall from that very same street corner. I didn't see it until the last day I was in Rosslyn. I just happened to pass by it. I mean, I did see a lot of people on the terrace of the Assembly the first evening I was there having a great time and enjoying Happy Hour. I just thought it was a sports bar until I walked into the building to do a little exploration early on a Thursday morning. What I found was a very spacious global food hall that looked clean and modern. There were I believe 6 types of restaurants and a full service bar in the middle. I saw Big Day Coffee, Charros Tacos, Beng Beng Asian Street Food, GiGi's Greens & Grains, Great Lake Diner, and Sammy's Pickle's. Fog Point Oyster Bar is kind of hidden down another hallway in the back. The popular seating spot appears to be the terrace, but I did see people in other parts of the dining area which all seem spread out between the different food counter areas. There is a central location to refill your glass of water that is brought to you once you are seated. I initially visited the Big Day Coffee counter in the morning. I ordered at the counter and found a place to sit in the coffee area. I got the pistachio donut and the Cold Brew Saigon which is basically a Vietnamese Cafe Sua Da. The coffee was very good. The donut had a lemon glaze with pistachio. It was okay. It was more like a cake. Later that afternoon, I went back and sat at a table that was more central to the bar. I wasn't sure how to order, but a nice lady helped me out. You can either order from the wait staff via a paper menu, or you can scan the QR code at your table. The menu pops up on the Toast app. They know were you are by the QR code and will bring your items out to your table. I thought about ordering a drink from the Happy Hour menu but decided to get another type of cold brew. This time, I got the horchata. It was another winner! I also got the Wellfleet Harbor oysters and they were fantastic. I absolutely loved the brininess of these oysters. They were juicy and in their own natural liquor. It was served with an onion mignonette and other sauces that really wasn't needed. I did taste the mignonette and it was so yummy, but the oysters were the star of this dish. I would totally get these again. Long story short. What an awesome place for Happy Hour after work, meetings during the day, or just a place to study. The service was great all around. I really enjoyed it. I wish I could have sampled the soup dumplings at Beng Beng and other menu items but there just wasn't enough time. I'm looking forward to staying in the Rosslyn area again in the near future. This will be one of the first places I'll hit when I'm back in the area. It's also close to the Rosslyn Metro Station and to the Hyatt Centric. Everything is so close!

Yelp
Nice place to dine in. They are located above the metro and have indoor and outdoor seating. The tables have a QR code leading to the online order and rewards site. You can also ask for a physical menu too. I ordered the Burger of the Month (DMK burger blend, 2 smash patties, provolone and american cheese, over easy egg, remolada sauce, & apple coleslaw) w/tots. This burger had lots of flavor that worked well together. It was also super big. The tots were basic, but nice and crispy.

Yelp
I've visited Assembly a few times to meet a colleague. I highly recommend this space - it's perfect for meeting colleagues or friends or even just to work alone. The food is great and it's easy to order via QR code or server. They also have a lovely outdoor space. It's right by the Rosslyn metro so easy to access.

Yelp
It pains me so leave a 2 star review because the space and decor is absolutely gorgeous! The servers were friendly but the food honestly tasted not good at all and was pricey. Went there on a random Saturday around 1pm and it was rather empty. After looking through the menu, we got two dishes from Beng beng and a smoothie from the smoothie spot. BENG BENG Asian street foods was listed as "Authentic Treasures Mined From Our Favorite Nooks" but was not authentic at all. Maybe we tried the wrong things but don't get the mapo tofu. Tasted like boiled tofu in a strange watery soup with spaghetti noodles. WTH? And we got some other dish that again tasted not quite like anything. Also Beng Beng is a chain and usually serves bings, which they didn't have on the menu so I thought that was strange too. My husband was drinking the smoothie (which was tasty) when he found ground up pieces of Brillo pad in his mouth. He even swallowed some! When we spoke to the general manager there (although she seemed genuinely apologetic) the first thing she tried to comfort us with was that she swallowed a ring when she was young and she turned out ok from that experience. Not something we wanted to hear when my husband's throat was hurting from being scratched up by the Brillo pad. We ended up spending 50 dollars with tip for the two Asian dishes. They didn't comp our meal (nor did we ask to be) but did give us a 20 dollar gift card to come back and try them again. Not sure if we will go back but if we do, we will try one of their other options as it is a fancy styled food hall.

Yelp
Great food. Exceptional service. Nice ambiance. Clean as the board of health! Must try when in the area.

Yelp
The Assembly, to me, can be described as an upscale cafeteria. I visited for dinner the other night and was unfortunately not impressed by the food quality or prices. However, they had good service and enjoyable views from the outdoor seating area and modern interiors which can be appealing to the eye. We ordered a little bit to try from each restaurant including chips and salsa from Charo's Taqueria, Xiao Long Bao pork soup dumplings from Beng Beng Asian Street Food, and the Great Lakes meatloaf with a side of sweet potato fries from the Great Lakes Diner. The salsa was not at all spicy, tasted too much like canned tomatoes and the chips were more like fried taco shells than anything. The dough of the pork dumplings lacked flavor and there was barely any soup inside. The dumplings seemed to have premade holes which is why I think a lot of the soup escaped. I'm normally not a huge fan of meatloaf anyways, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but I didn't find it to be very flavorful and the sweet potato fries were crunchy but had a ton of brown sugar on them. Ultimately, each meal seemed way more expensive than what it should have been for the quality of the food. I personally might come back for drinks, coffee or a quick breakfast, but probably will stay away from the dinner food selection.

Yelp
The first day open to the public so we had to check it out since it is in my office building. The staff is very nice and open. It has a very modern and industrial restaurant look. My sons ordered two different dumplings and I ordered a cod sandwich. The soup dumplings were very good and the conventional dumplings had a good taste, but nothing above and beyond the normal. The cod sandwich was rather flavorless, but good. The fries were good. Well cooked and a very nice portion. I am looking forward to the next visit, but the prices will keep it for being a daily lunch place.

Janjan S.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem food court with a lovely and clean interior and lots of great food options. Just had the most amazing lunch at Gigi's. Ordered a blueberry mango smoothie and a Caesar salad with salmon. I have a high bar for Caesar salads and this one was absolutely phenomenal. The salmon was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the salad was crisp and fresh. The Parmesan and dressing were superb and the croutons were crunchy, well-seasoned, and abundant. Would absolutely recommend Gigi's if you're looking for a fresh bite.

Yelp
Tuesday thru Saturday from 3PM to 6:30PM is their Happy Hour. This past Friday, I enjoyed just that. Shareables (Bites) are reasonably priced with our groups' unanimous favorite being the Margherita Pizza ($8.95) and Tater Tots ($2.95). I passed on the ordered Deviled Eggs and Spring Rolls but plan to return for the Crispy Wings ($7.95). "Select Beer" is $6 (regularly $8), Draft and seemed to be the only HH special for their beer options. I took a gamble on their rotating seasonals and got an Aslin Sour. I didn't ask the name but think it was the Summer Fruittata. Although not a sour beer fan, this was SOLID. A few wanted to sample so my solid vote has been vetted. Must try! Bottled beer remains $6 with varieties to include your standard domestics with a few seltzers thrown in. Rounding out your HH specials see you with 3 House Wines ($7) and four Cocktails ($8) to choose from. Service seemed like a joint effort from multiple staff. We had a bartender take our drink orders as well as other table staff that had been managing other sections. Despite various contacts, there were zero complaints. All were welcoming, friendly and patient with questions, especially those from an indecisive friend (or two) of mine. Overall, Assembly feels like a space where you can easily enjoy a bite/drink just as much solo or if you decide to assemble a group to join with.
