8 of the Best New Restaurants in Paris in 2018 - AFAR

"Opened inside the Passage des Panoramas, this revival of the classic brasserie elevates disappearing French standards with a contemporary touch: escargot, sole meunière, roasted quail with figs and grapes, and deglazed calf’s liver with vinegar feature alongside top-shelf ingredients. The dining room’s elegant interiors, designed by Tristan Auer (Maison&Objet’s 2017 Designer of the Year), reinforce a renewed embrace of the quintessential Parisian brasserie idiom." - Lindsey Tramuta

The dinner at Astair was definitely a highlight of our trip to Paris. A private, quiet place with perfect service and amazing French food. I got duck confite and my husband got chicken with mashed potatoes. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the wine was excellent and there’s air conditioning indoors. We would have love to go back but unfortunately maps said is closed on Sundays and Mondays. I highly recommend it, I tried duck in a couple more places and nowhere was as good as in Astair <3.

Had an incredible dinner at Astair. The service was excellent—friendly, fast, and super well-coordinated. You could really see the staff working smoothly as a team. Started with the foie gras, which was rich and perfectly done. The Argentinian ribeye was juicy and full of flavor, with fries that were crispy and addictive. Wrapped it all up with pistachio profiteroles—light, creamy, and delicious. Left completely full and very satisfied. Would absolutely go back.

Excellent lunch. Great service, easily the best French Onion Soup I’ve ever eaten. I’d return just for that… but my fish dish as also delicious.

The setting for this bar restaurant is perfect. In a covered colonnade this feels like old world, Paris. We did not eat here, but had a couple of drinks loved the bar and love the deco and atmosphere. This is a great place to sit and watch people go by and enjoy a great glass of wine and maybe some appetizers or a dinner.

Yelp
Everything you could ask for in a French dining experience. We loved the ambiance and how it felt like you were "in on a secret" to find yourself at this delicious restaurant. The secret is out. We loved it. The server was very helpful and kind to even the most lost American tourists (not us). The food was authentic and cooked with care. Great modern takes on French classics and at a fair price point. Highly recommend!

Yelp
If you are in this neighborhood, this is a great choice for a modern twist on French dining. When I think of traditional French dining, I think of a cafe with seating outside, and they all serve the same things. This place sits in a covered alley which is cool, full of many restaurants. They also have to coolest looking toilet I've seen at a restaurant. For dinner we had an escargot, a salad to share for starters. They also served bread, and it appears every restaurant does. For entrees we split the prime rib for 2; $82 euro, and one chicken thigh with mashed potatoes. The meal itself was excellent, I recommend it. A couple at the table next to us had the marrow and they recommended it too. We had essentially an ice cream puff for dessert to share for the 3 of us, it was good and the chocolate sauce was pretty cocoaey. I do recommend it if you are in the area, just be sure to make a reservation.

Yelp
We were all full but did not want to skip a meal in Paris that we sought out to Astair. This place is a bit hidden and located in an inner streets with other restaurants. Everything from the ambiance, service, and food was delicious especially everything I had from a unique egg foam starter to the perfectly cooked octopus.

Yelp
Such a beautiful restaurant to dine in while in Paris that you really can't miss, the menu is amazing and the service staff are quite friendly and enthusiastic, can get busy so a reservation would be nice. The wine list is also very good and their spirits list is also excellent. I had a farm raised chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy was gorgeous, seating is cozy.

Yelp
The restaurant is in a cute alley with lots of other restaurants and the vibes are so cute! The interior is designed so well but we opted for outdoor seats so we could people watch. We ordered the bone marrow, escargot, steak dinner for two, and a baked pear dessert. Everything was amazing and Astair is now one of our favorite restaurants in Paris. I can't wait to come back!
