I called this place home for a year. One of the first tenants to move in when it was recently opened. The apartment complex is close to practically everything including Bart, shopping and dining. The parking structure is amazing. It has remote control entry and electric charge stations. Management is friendly and professional during service requests as well. Although the units are relatively small in size, they provide commuters an opportunity to enjoy the East Bay. The complex is very secure when going away for the weekend. Occasionally maintenance falls behind on schedule, but overall it is a good place to live.

Leasing staff is great, they’re all really friendly and love our dogs. The apartment itself is very nice and all of the appliances except the washer and dryer are high end. The courtyards were beautiful when we moved in as one of the first residents however now the grass is dead from dog pee and there’s usually dog poop all over. Only other complaint is that the stairwells and garage become very dirty with trash and dust from inconsiderate tenants and not enough steady maid cleaning. The sound proofing is very good in our apartment only on occasion have I heard my neighbors being noisy. Our apartment has a great view of the pool and privacy of palm trees which I love.

I scheduled an appointment for an in person tour today at 1pm but arrived to a dark and locked leasing office. I double checked and saw the office was supposed to be open from 10am-530pm according to the front sign and website information. I attempted to call the number attached to my appointment confirmation email and the website listed number but no response from either. After waiting for 30 minutes, I decided to leave. Not sure if this was a one off, but a very poor first impression of management.

This is a very bad experience so far. I was towed last night and charged $550. If I were a new tenant, I would definitely be very careful to read the disable sign on the wall. I have lived here for more than a year and I know very well where the disable sign is. For old tenants, especially those who need to charge their electric cars, it is a daily routine. I went on a trip more than a week ago. When I drove back and saw that the usual charging place was empty, I went to charge it. After less one hour I was prompted that the power was cut off. When I went to the parking spot, I found that the car was gone. Then one of the tenants told me that your car was towed away and you would be charged $550 because the same thing happened to him. I wonder why the community management didn’t send an email to notify the tenants that you changed the sign. Before, the wall of this parking spot showed that the electric car was available. You changed the content. It is a trap for old tenants.

DO NOT LIVE HERE. Here is a glimpse of some of my experiences: -homeless people in the building and living on the top floor. We’ve seen a homeless guy multiple times and had to call the cops. It’s trashed and reeks. We told the “management” here and they did nothing but get rid of the trash. -nothing gets fixed around the building unless you submit a maintenance request, and even when you do, it’s fixed extremely poorly. A light was hanging in the stair case and we submitted a request, they fixed it with duct tape and it fell again. We submitted another ticket and they used a zip tie this time. -“management” does not answer phone calls or emails and are impossible to get a hold of -the ice machine was broken on our fridge and maintenance yanked our fridge out by the handles and our fridge handles are broken now and don’t close properly. -covering big holes in walls with tape -really no cleaning. You’ll see the same crumbs and trash in the hallways for months. Especially on the fifth floor. We mostly only see cleaning crew on the first floor, but for some reason the other floors aren’t important to clean. -almost all grills are broken -poor and incomplete patched walls, not painted and not sanded -missing umbrellas, and pillows, old, damaged, and unclean furniture in the pool area -water is out multiple times of the year. 2023 - Jan, March, and august -our bathroom lightbulb went out and the maintence guy said the lightbulbs were on back order and insinuated it wasn’t a big deal because we have a second bathroom we could use. We pay rent for 2 bathrooms to use. -trash valet that’s $20 a month but there’s a 50/50 chance it’ll be picked up (building blames their residents for not following valet “rules”) -half the light bulbs are out throughout the property -walls are filthy and damaged -another light bulb went out and their excuse is that it’s a “custom” lightbulb as to why they don’t have any on hand yet these bulbs are available at even Home Depot -dolley is never to be seen. Leasing office even had one in their office and when I asked if I could use it, they said no because they were using it even though it was just sitting there. -the cleaning crew takes out the dog poop in the trash bags outside, but leaves the same bag in there. Extremely nasty I’ve lived in 4 apartments in my life and have never experienced something as horrible as this place.

This apartment complex seems “luxury” but it is not. My husband and I pay $3000 a month for a 2 bedroom apartment and the least we can get and ask for is for the basics to be taken care of especially maintenance. I’m not one to leave bad reviews but I’ve been so disappointed with this place and the staff that I couldn’t hold it in any longer. The appliances don’t work, our sink has been making really loud noises since we moved in 4 months ago and nothing has been done to fix it even though we tell the office every week. Maintenance here is a joke, our washer currently has a smell of smoke when we use it and maintenance is no where to be found. The one positive that I like is that the complex is esthetically pleasing and within walking distance to great restaurants. But overall I would say that we are not pleased. Save your money.

Google
There are always about 20-30% of EV chargers out of service, which leads to residents constantly unplugging chargers from other vehicles that are still charging. If you drive an electric vehicle, avoiding this place—it’s highly inconvenient and frustrating.

Ive been living at Aster since 2021. I have generally been satisfied. Is it perfect? no, ive had some situations with management (like MY car getting towed 🙄 but not others when there was a parking policy change). Generally im content here, location is great, everything is conveniently nearby, a great sushi restaurant in the building basically, one medicine for primary care, and even a gym F45. My annoyances are more with the residents that don't follow rules particularly when it comes to garbage disposal :-/ and pet owners that let their dogs pee right by the doors or even inside 🤮, that smell lingers but thats not managements fault. The apartments are nice. The building could definitely use some upgrades and hopefully management will invest to improve the property. A carpet washing for the common areas / corridors in whole building would be a good start. Overall 4/5 experience.

Yelp
We have lived here for almost 2 years now and I can safely say it is not worth it. We pay way too much for a one bedroom apartment that constantly shuts off water, tests the alarms constantly (with barely any notice), a "locked" parking garage that too often is broken down so the gate is wide open, hot tub has been nasty for months, expired permits on the elevators, and trash and dog urine all over the hallways. For the trash in the hallways - we used to take our own trash to the trash chutes (I thought this worked great). But they added on "trash pickup" where you leave your trash bags in the hallway and someone comes and picks them up. This service is not free. When we asked if we could waive this service because we'd rather just take out or own trash they said no! We are 10 feet away from the trash chute, it's ridiculous. People are supposed to leave their trash in bins but they often don't, so there are just smelly/leaking trash bags on the floor in the hallways of our "luxury apartment". We also have a neighbor that smokes (non-smoking apartments) and we've reported them so many times and nothing has happened. We can't even open our windows to enjoy a nice day without the smell. Moral of the story: don't move here. We and other residents have complained many times about these issues to see no resolutions. We are hoping to break our lease. *I do want to shout out the maintenance guy and the cleaning crew - they are very kind and quick when we have a maintenance issue.

Yelp
We moved in outside work hours on a Saturday and found some issues with the lighting and toilet while inspecting the apartment on Sunday. We promptly put in a work order. Anthony came by Monday morning and fixed the issues in no time. Courteous, fast, and efficient. So far so good!

Yelp
I am very disappointed with the service and organization at Aster Apartments in Dublin. Found them via Zillow first. They showed 3 units available. Checked their website directly (asterdublin.com) - also 3 units available. Booked a guided tour via website and even exchanged e-mails with Levi Jones, their Central Leasing Office specialist. He reminded me to bring a valid ID for the tour and was "looking forward to showing me around". Imagine my surprise when after driving 45 minutes to Aster Apartments I was greeted by very cold lady stating "no demo units to show", "nothing is coming any time soon" and "no, can't show you the amenities, but I can give you a map". What? Can't even show the amenities? Absolutely no respect to the time of others, total chaos with their system or records and lack of supervision/management. Don't waste your time on this!

Yelp
This may be the worst renting experience I have ever had, the leasing management seems to give you the runaround and doesn't seem to actually want to do any work. We applied for an apartment on Monday and everything seemed to be approved and we were just awaiting property management to approve it on their end. We called multiple times and they told us the leasing person was out and there wasn't anything they could do and to come in Saturday. This is the part that gets fun, we go to the leasing office today to talk to someone in person and were met by Valerie who may be the most combative, standoffish, and unprofessional leasing office person I have ever dealt with. She stood at the front of the door of the leasing office and asked if she could help us and we explained the situation in regard to our application. She stated that we couldn't check out the apartment in person because she have keys to get into the apartment, which doesn't make sense because they use numeric codes for their doors. She also stated that everyone in the office was out due to mother's day weekend, which isn't really a thing. She obviously did not want to be there due to this "holiday weekend", and did not want to assist us in any form. I don't understand how a company thinks that having someone like that as the face of the company and one of the first point of contacts for future residents is a good idea. We have already found another apartment that was much easier to work with and would recommend you stay far far away from this place.

Yelp
Poor management. I am a previous resident of Aster who had a package accidentally delivered to my old address. Because the package was of value I contacted Aster to help track down the package. I made numerous phone calls to Aster and was told each time they would give me a call back. I have yet to receive a phone call about my missing package and there has been no effort in getting it sorted. Unacceptable response to a simple issue.

Yelp
The overall appearance of the community is good. However, I am not going to renew the lease again. I am looking for a new place. I would like to inform that unit #104 that I live in. I contracted the lease after virtual tutoring. There is severe noise from the ground/wall in the bedroom. The noise is like the waves in the ocean continuously hitting the large rocks and boiling huge amounts of water in a big pot. The noise came through a thin wall in which a pipe connected to a ventilation machine on the roof (the maintenance team showed me the picture). The noise gradually culminates and keeps running and running every day and night. The previous maintenance team used to reset the machine whenever I claimed. However, this new management does not care. My wife and I are sleeping in the living room using winter camping equipment that I purchased recently. The noise is coming out at this moment. I talked to a Code Enforcement Officer in the City of Dublin. He came by and told me that: As the noise is not transmitted to the outside, the unit does not have any constructional defect while saying that he understands the inconvenience. It does not make sense. The noise is transmitting to me and my wife. We are living in hell now. All I can do is leave my note for the future residents in unit 104 in Aster. I'd like to recommend this unit only for those who love to hear the wave sound in the ocean and boiling water sound. If I express the noise, it is like propelling water behind a motorboat. the degree of noise is too loud. I have been recording for several days.

Yelp
Almost 2 years in this complex and have to give shoutout to maintenance team and specially Marriaon who has always been professional and with can do attitude. Very respectful and has always been able to fix and resolve issues promptly.

Yelp
Mauricio is great. Any small maintenance, or appliance issue, he is very professional & knowledgeable. He fixes it in a heartbeat and explains what the issue is & what might have caused it. Thank you Mauricio!

Yelp
In 2018 I was planning on moving into Aster until I received the lease douments to sign. In the 25+-page lease documents packet, there was a disclosure that the soil under the complex is contaminated. I was able to withdraw my application and I was refunded for all fees paid. However, it was extrememly stressful and inconvenient. I only found this out 2 days before I was scheduled to move in. And I was relocating from another state to start a new job. I had to put everything in storage, cancel the utilities, renter's insurance, etc. that I had set up. I had to live in a hotel at $200/nt and dine out for meals until I could find a new apartment. Then when I found an apartment -- arrange to have my stuff moved out of storage, start utilities again, get a new renter's policy, etc. - again when I found an apartment -- all while starting a new job in a new state. At the time the complex was brand new and almost full, so apparently it didn't bother a lot of people. But I think they should have disclosed it up front before potential renters got too far into the process.

Yelp
So I went to view an apartment via self guided tour. I really liked the unit so I went home and applied. I submitted the required documents, paid the application fee, as well as the holding fee. I called the next morning and spoke with a representative who told me she'd reach out to me by end of day to determine my total monthly expenses. I was a bit confused, but the representative explained to me that my gross annual income could not exceed $149,520.00. Weird, but okay. I later received an email saying that my application was denied due to my income exceeding the threshold. I realized that she had miscalculated my income. I am a nurse and work 36 hours (three 12 hour shifts which is clearly indicated on my paystubs) yet they calculated my hourly rate by 40 hours a week. Completely ignoring my submitted stubs. I tried calling, no answer. I emailed them back, and informed them that they miscalculated and also reminded them that I work 36 hours a week. Instead of apologizing and correcting the matter. They asked for my supervisor email so that they can confirm my employment by the hour! WHATTTT? lol. This is unreal. My stubs doesn't indicate a 40hr work week, and yet they wanted me to contact my supervisor at the hospital! i will gladly take my money elsewhere. Do not waste your time applying. Currently waiting for a response specifying exactly when my holding deposit will be returned to me. ill keep you guys updated

Yelp
Stayed here for a few months and let me tell you it was not very pleasant. Fire alarm going off, no hot water for 2 days, Hands down it was cleaner than other aprtments but for the amount of money you pay from move in to move out was not worth it in my opinion. Monthly fees are absolutely crazy, paying for water, sewage etc..And charging move out fees such as painting, carpet cleaning and room cleaning eats your security therefore say goodbye to your security. If you got money to spend, I say go for it

Yelp
We loved our time at Aster. Kacey was always polite, friendly, responsive, and quick to help us with anything we needed. The space was beautiful, modern, and up-to-date, location convenient (Target and Safeway within walking distance, as well as BART), and the amenities were great (swimming pool, fitness center, trash pick up, grills and garden spaces, community center, locker parcel). Maintenance team was on top of it and this place feels brand new. Keyless entry takes a minute to get used to, but convenient once you get the hang of it. Residents are neighborly and friendly. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Roaches, scammers, and shady people!!! Husband and I lived in this dungeon for two years. One year during thanksgiving break we traveled out of state. We came back to find that our apartment had been flooded from the neighbors on top (Yes! Water was coming down from the ceiling and lights) of us. The apartment let themselves in and set up four generators across our entire apartment, cut into the ceiling, and because of water leakage YES we had severe damage to furniture....... We received no warning from the apartment, no heads up. Best of all they stuck us with the bill for running 4 generators nonstop for a week. We couldn't wait to leave. But before we did we had the love with roaches in the walls, in the trash, and roaming the floors of the apartment at night. This place is disgusting with dirty people. Save the money!

Yelp
I have truly become enthralled with Aster as my home! It is nice to see that there is a place with a program which helps people like me (Service Industry Management) to afford a wonderful, spacious home near where a work. All of my co-workers have to commute and I do not! Also, the gym is wonderfully equipped and the grounds are very well maintained. It makes me proud to invite over friends and family when you see that where you live is kept nice and clean. Lastly, just wanted to give a shout out to the people in the office who made my move-in and maintenance so straight forward and simple. I never had a smoother transition from one place to another. Overall, please take the time to tour and fall in love with Aster like I have. I know you will not be disappointed!

Eunji K.

Yelp
I thought I had great 2years in Aster community despite the FREQUENT FIRE ALARM (a couple times a month) and WATER LEAKING (yes, soaking carpet and the wall) during rainy season as it was my first apartment myself. I recently moved out in early March, gave them early enough notice (12/25/2023), but they charged me the entire month rent fee after my lease ended because I didn't give them a "written notice". Well, I visited the office in January to clarify the written notice part, the told me I don't need to take any more action. And guess what, they collected $4842 for 1 bedroom when my lease ended on 3/5. When you email them, Director and her assistant are back and forth sending emails "can you handle this please" and no one is actually getting back to me. This silence treatment is not the first time. During my stay, they significantly overcharged me then finally fixed the issue after I reached out the Corporate team. Beautiful community and extremely incompetent management team. I am very frustrated with this ongoing overcharge issue. I would just go to the newer community a block away. Don't recommend at all.

Sami S.

Yelp
This review is coming from a resident who lived here for a year starting in May 2022 and then moving out at the end of our lease in May 2023. The management here is an absolute mess and couldn't care less about the people who live here. While the apartment itself is beautiful, the people managing are truly running this place to the ground. To start, the lady who is normally at the front dest, Mia, does not know anything about the complex or how to fix a common sense issues. Her response for anything is usually, "I am not sure" or "I am still pretty new so I don't know" when she has in fact worked there for months now and whenever I ask her to then relay the message to the community director, we hear nothing back. Ari, the community director really tries to act like she cares about a situation but absolutely nothing will come from it. For example, our kitchen lights almost caught fire due to exposed and burnt wiring! The maintenance people came in and basically told us this is outside their work and outside help was going to need to come. We then went a day without being able to use our kitchen lights as the wires were chard and was causing smoking. Ari came into our apartment with the maintenance men and she told us an electrician was contacted but she wanted to see the issue herself. They realized that the bulbs in ALL the kitchens in the complex were too high of a wattage causing the wires to literally turn black and smoke. She told us that they were instead going to tuck the burnt wires and put in LED lights. I then asked "what about the other residents?" which she replied the annual inspections are coming up and the lighting for all others will be looked at then.... what? This was a serious safety issue and the inspections did not come for another almost 6 months and the friends we made here said no one looked at their kitchen lights, just the fire sprinklers. To add to this, there was water shut offs many times while living here. While our water was shut off for almost 48 hours, we were told to "make sure we fill up our bathtubs and buckets with water to flush the toilets!" quite the luxury apartment experience. After these shit offs to fix said issue, we also went without hot water for about 5 days! No compensation, no refunds, no true statement of what the hell was happening. In the year we lived there I think the hot tub worked one time. It was usually green and grimy every time we had an intention of using it. Also, our gym was a joke as there was no weights for the squat rack the full year we lived there. Once we had asked and they said the check to purchase was on the way, obviously it never came. The elevator inspections are about 6 years expired. They never answer the phone in the leasing office. And now to top it off, I have still yet to receive my deposit from the new company they decided to partner with! They will not answer my calls about this either and have waited on hold for someone to pick up but it always goes unanswered. This was truly the worst and most dangerous living experience. The "luxurious" apartment living is a joke with the lack of working amenities and the lack of basic housing needs such as water and lighting without exposed and burning wire. We will never live here again and have told others to avoid. To also add to this very long review, they like to tell residents to not post bad reviews online but rather to talk to the leasing office and upper management first. Well, we were given upper managements information and emailed them regarding all of our issues and never received an email back. This was probably about 6 months ago. So here I am posting my review online (:

Yelp
Hello. Today is 7/1/22.I have left over 20 messages via your "Off Site Leasing Team', aka answering service, and sent several email messages to Aster for a response. None have been returned. I have been unable to reach Aster on-site, since 5/19/22. I've tried all times of the day during your daily business hours. I submitted an application for APT 128 last Saturday 6/25/2022. I submitted all documents requested, along with the application fees. The portal says my application is complete, and is awaiting response from Aster. What is the reason for no response? If you direct me to the same phone numbers and email addresses as you are providing to other reviewers, I do not consider that a response to my question, as no one from the building can be reached there. Please contact me directly via the messages I have already left - Suzanne Garrett.

Yelp
The apartments are in close proximity to many great stores ! The outside of the apartment looks well kept for the attraction of new residents. The parking garage is HORRID . It reeks of dog urine !!!! And they think by throwing water and soap + using a broom is cleaning the area but it just spreads all that urine everywhere . How about you fine those who let their dogs pee anywhere . The gate to " secure" our cars just opens for anyone there is no security measure. The whole company needs to do better seriously.

Vicky P.

Yelp
Our maintenance person, Mauricio, is excellent. He's great at fixing things quickly and efficiently. We haven't had too much trouble in our unit but the efficiency of maintenance has been pretty top notch. He's a nice guy, very friendly, always smiling, and is a great addition to the Aster building. Thank you for keeping the building up to high maintenance standards.

Yelp
Severely disappointed in what has happened to this apartment complex. I lived here since 2018 (4+ years) and seen this place go from an apartment I used to rave about to one I warn people to steer clear. All due to a switch in property management around 2020. This apartment is considered a luxury apartment charging 3k+ a month for a two bed room. With the take over of FPI management they now a part of essential housing program, to be "affordable." What that has done is make the leasing process lengthy and tedious, all for them knocking off 100-200$ off your monthly rate. The transition to FPI was horribly managed. I was in the process of upgrading my apartment from a 1 to 2 bedroom, and needed a new lease. It took them 6 months to get me the proper paperwork! At first they weren't going to allow me to move in on our agreed upon date because they failed to have a lease created. I pushed because we literally had everything packed up and movers hired. It then took them forever to provider proper paperwork, thus keeping us locked out of keyless entry, package lockers and their website portal. Contacting the management is a joke. No one returns your phone calls or emails. Recently upper management created an online form asking people to contact them first before posting a bad review (Since they were getting so many). After multiple attempts to contact Kasey our assistant manager and Ari on site manager, I used this portal to voice my concerns and haven't heard back from them, that was two months ago. Below is listed all the issues I have had that were either improperly addressed or not addressed at all. 1. Landscaping ignored - My patio backs up to their "roof top garden" all which has died and after multiple attempts over the last 9 months to ask management to address the issue; I've been ignored 2. Contacting office staff impossible 3. Dog urine smell in the garage -The "dog run/area" is a gravel alley way 5. Cold hot tub/luke warm water in apartment 6. No hot water -hot water is constantly being turned off to work on the water heater. Usually for days on end 7. Bad website 8. Garbage in halls -A mandatory garbage valet (30/month) is required even though garbage shoots are conveniently located. Now we just have piles of garbage sitting outside of peoples doors DAILY. 9. Compost unavailable -By law compost has to be provided to residents. The dumpster is locked up all week and only taken out for city pick up. So unless you know when that is you can't utilize the service. 10. No x-mas tree pick up service 11. Garbage smell -some apartments are directly above the 9+ dumpsters causing a terrible smell and flies. My neighbors complained and asked if they could move to another open unit. They were denied. 12. Car chargers not working -Car chargers are notoriously unreliable. I'm honestly heart broken to see what has come of this place. I used to feel so lucky to be able to live here, and now I look forward to the time I will not have to deal with FPI anymore.

Yelp
Wow! What an amazing complex but even better staff. Mia, the front desk receptionist, was so helpful in answering my questions and providing information.

Yelp
I met with leasing agent Mia today. She was warm and welcoming. This was after looking at 3 other apartments on the same day - those agents dulled in comparison to Mia. She's a true force of kindness, knowledgeable, and one of the main reasons I wanted to apply after looking at the unit. She explained apartment design, parking, internet, property layout, etc. I felt so welcomed during my meeting with her. I hope that you have this young lady around for a quite a while. She's a jewel and was a total pleasure to work with. Additionally, she's smart, she listens, and is an excellent communicator. As a supervisor, I give her a thumbs up for a promotion . She's awesome

Yelp
BEWARE OF MANAGEMENT COMPANY- They engage in shady and illegal practices. I was forced to evacuate my unit for 16 days due to a building leak, despite being told it would only be 3 days. Shockingly, they refused to adjust my rent to account for the time I couldn't live there. Fed up with their lack of response to my emails, and the persistent overflow of garbage in the hallways despite my garbage fees doubling to provide a mandatory "pick up service" I decided to move out. I requested a pre-move out inspection walk-through on three separate occasions with Tammy, yet she never responded, which is completely illegal. Additionally, I asked for a copy of my lease which they are required to provide within 3 days, and Tammy never sent it. I left the unit in pristine condition, having it professionally cleaned and providing a receipt. Reached out another two times to ask what the next step is and trying to schedule a time to meet on move out day, but never heard back. They only reached out 2 weeks later to charge me for the blinds that their maintenance team failed to reinstall and a cleaning fee. They also did not return my remainder of security deposit within 21 days which is again, illegal... These individuals are engaging in SO many illegal activities and should be avoided at all costs.

Yelp
People matter. I moved into Aster shortly after it was first built 3 years ago. Deepak (showed me all the units again and again), Avelino, Graciela, and Zak were all phenomenal and kind leasing consultants and property managers. Patrick and Ed (RIP) the maintenance guys were super nice and prompt and honest. It was the best apartment team I've ever met. I think about two months ago, Aster changed hands to FPI Management and they have a new crew who rubs me the wrong way. The last few months I've been suffering from an accident and dealing with a herniated disc and now a fractured foot (thank goodness we are still working from home at my job!) and my mom has been so sweet to take time off work to help me. She also brings our family dog who lives w my parents in SF. Luckily, I have a two bedroom apartment. My mom also had a couple of Costco packages delivered to my place. Well, as I'm in bed nursing my newly broken foot, Annie, the leasing consultant sends me an email stating that she looked up my lease and sees that my mom is not listed as a tenant and she has in fact seen my mom (or maybe the new maintenance people did) walking a dog on property. My mom went down to speak to her prior to inquire about a package as well (so apparently she saw that as a sign that we were hiding something! LOL) so if my mom hadn't done that then Annie would have no reason to know. Anyway, I digress...She finishes her email stating I need to add my mom to the lease and that I have to pay $500 pet deposit and $50 extra a month. Note, I moved in when rents were highest prior to covid. So, your family and friends can't send packages to you as gifts and beware of friends or family visiting you because they might need to be added to the lease with a background check and all. My lease is up in 3 months so I'll be happy to leave because I don't deal with sly people who resort to nazi detective tactics. I'm frankly appalled. I had a zoom check in with my boss and she demanded I go down there and state my case and thought I was being singled out for whatever reason. Haha. Also interesting is my neighbor friends have all had experienced similar attitudes. Anyway, this is one of those things I will never remember so all good but I find this behavior unacceptable and kind of funny. Per doctors orders I ordered a knee scooter from Amazon bc I can put weight on my foot for 5 weeks and my mom has to go down and pick it up. I wonder if the Aster police will handcuff her. So like the other reviewers here and in google, I'm out 3500 a month with no light and at times no hot water and alarms going off every two weeks. People are important and culture is important.

Yelp
We just recently moved here and I have to say that Aster is an awesome community! The leasing office is staffed with some really nice and knowledgeable folks. All the common areas are clean and the community is super quiet / peaceful. The amenities are top notch (the clubhouse is absolutely stunning). There's some really great outdoor / bbq ready places on the property for you to just cook your heart out. The actual units are super sleek and modern looking! The location is superb. You can walk to Bart (2 blocks) and Target and Safeway (literally across the street)! Definitely a place to call home!

Yelp
If at all possible, go elsewhere. The property management (Ari) is inconsiderate and dismissive. I will note that Kasey, the Leasing Manager is a pleasant person always willing to help. I've had an ongoing noise complaint from a tenant above me and all Ari did was stall in addressing the problem blaming it on air conditioning equipment and such. The problem was either caused by an animal or person but she took her sweet time investigating (Months). After several emails complaining of the issue, Ari continued to drag her feet. If you have other options for renting an apartment, go there! Aster Apartment Managemnent is an extreme good example of poor property management.

Yelp
I recently moved out of my apartment at Aster to move into my newly purchased house. I can't leave without expressing my thanks and appreciation to the management of Aster and the maintenance team, for keeping Aster a great place to live in. The complex is modern and luxurious with many services and amenities. Everyone is kind, friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Aster to friends and family. Plus, the excellent location is close to everything, entertainment, restaurants, shopping, BART, and easy access to the freeways.

Yelp
Terrible office staff that cannot keep appointments straight. Also, watch out, do not rent on the Amakara side. The garbage smells bad.

Yelp
Aster was great when we first moved in 2019. All the staff was so helpful and friendly, and maintenance requests were promptly addressed, sometimes within hours. FPI Management took over a few months ago and it's been worse and worse: * Resident portal has been down since April with no update and no way to request maintenance or access lease information. * No communication about when online access is coming back, except of course to pay the rent. * Amenities are randomly open and closed again, reservation system doesn't work. * Maintenance requests have to be done over the phone (with over 20 minutes wait time each time), and they're NOT addressed. The dishwasher and AC have been dysfunctional for almost 3 weeks, despite multiple reminders and even going to the leasing office in person. * Speaking of the office, Annie, whom I spoke to a couple of times was just yelling over and over that she couldn't hear me, until I let her know how upsetting the situation is. And right after that she could hear me fine... I could go on and on on the list of things that went from almost perfect to disastrous.... We're now just looking for another place to live. Save your money, you won't get what you pay for at Aster under FPI Management.

Yelp
I want to move here but unfortunately, I've been trying to get someone from the leasing office to respond to my emails/texts with no luck. I called and got a recording. I emailed and got an auto reply. I guess they aren't trying to get new tenants. Their loss.

Yelp
We had to downgrade the review due to recent management change from Berkshire to FPI. The new management is completely unprofessional. Didn't reply to any queries I had regarding my lease renewal for several weeks after constantly contacting them through phone and email. The whole trash room was overflowing with garbage for couple of days after they stopped cleaning trash for a few days. When I tried to inquire about moving to a 2 bedroom apartment they quoted me some ridiculous amount of 4300$ per month which was at least 1500$ higher than the quote on their website a month ago. If you're okay with management not getting back to for several days or your maintenance requests not getting answered then go right ahead otherwise there are lots of other nice apartments with better management in the area. We were happy living here for 3 years under previous management and the last month under the new one was a nightmare and we're happy with our decision of not renewing our lease.
