Amazing experience living here thanks to the incredible team. Sophia, the leasing manager, is so sweet and truly treats you like family. Tony from security is welcoming, selfless, and incredibly thoughtful. I swear he remembers everything and always makes you feel safe and at home. Humberto from maintenance is outstanding; he came the same day I submitted a request and went above and beyond to help. Grateful for such a caring and professional team. Highly recommend!

I’ve had such a wonderful time at The Aster in Long Beach! The move-in was a breeze, and the staff were incredibly helpful from the very beginning. The building is always spotless, well-maintained, and all the amenities are top-notch. During my tour, I was really impressed by how new everything looks in the apartments, and the appliances are fantastic. The residents have been so welcoming too. Everyone here has been friendly and helpful, especially Sophia and Martin at the front desk. They’re always ready to lend a hand and make the place feel like home. Overall, I’m so glad I picked The Aster to live at, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone searching for a clean, safe place with a fantastic staff in Long Beach.

We have only been here a few months but the staff has been incredibly helpful both during move in as well as a few issues that have come up. The night security guards are wonderful and the cleaning and maintenance staff are always working to insure that the building is very clean. I recently had an issue with my EV parking space and management was able to change my parking space in a timely and efficient manner.

One of the most problematic places I’ve ever lived in. Current residents— do NOT renew your leases. Folks considering renting — if you ever needed a WARNING against living somewhere, this is it. This community is unsafe and lacks accountability. The manager literally lets residents and guests get away with bullying, excessive noise, harassment, leaving filth everywhere (esp feces in hallways), smoking everywhere, loud noise/ parties, etc. You’ll be nickel and dimed. The entire previous management team got fired bc of how horribly they performed. Staff turnover is rampant. We thought there was hope when management changed from Greystar to Sares but Sares is just as bad. Sophia, Ty and Brandon are the only helpful ones but they can only do so much to try and help. Run, don’t walk…RUN out of here. Beautiful building but it’s deceptive. Sadly, you’ll never get peaceful sleep and you’ll have your peace of mind destroyed. Residents are extremely inconsiderate and you’ll be gaslit if you ever raise valid complaints. Calling the police isn’t helpful either. Renting here was such a terrifying and dangerous experience. Multiple residents and staff members have keys that work for multiple apartments so your unit will never truly be safe. Even with a security system and alarms, you’ll still be in danger. Roaches are also common and your parking spot will be occupied despite you paying $125 bc they never tow/ issue moving violations for illegally parked cars. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere. Sares Regional Management should be reviewing all the red flags here as multiple residents should have been evicted for violations a long time ago but management keeps letting them get away with everything. People here throw stones and hide their hands frequently. They’ll accuse you of the problems other residents are causing and condone resident bullying. Packages get stolen and cops are frequently around bc of disturbances.

I recently moved into Astor Long Beach and absolutely love it here! The building is clean, modern, and feels very safe. One of the best parts of living here is the staff — especially Tony, the security guy. He’s always friendly, professional, and genuinely cares about helping residents. Whether it’s holding the door, assisting with packages, or just greeting everyone with a smile, Tony goes above and beyond every single day. I really appreciate the positive atmosphere and sense of community here. Highly recommend Astor Long Beach to anyone looking for a great place to live!

Super excited to start the new year in my new home at Aster. The office team are highly Professional and always great you with a smile. Shout out to Ty for helping me Sunday with my thermostat. It didn’t matter that it wasn’t “his job” he didn’t think twice about taking ownership of the problem. Thank you Sophia and Martin for helping me through my move in. No matter how many times we do it, it is stressful so thank you for providing quick solutions and communication. I look forward to my next year here!

I've been a resident of Aster for a few months now and really appreciate this community. Recently, the building management has changed and I've noticed improvements. Staff has been faster to respond to maintenance issues I've mentioned. Colin and Martin really seems to be on top of things. Xiomara is very kind and patient. I always see Carlos busy fixing/cleaning making improvements. And Tony stays on top of the nighttime security. All great people, a team that makes me feel taken care of as a resident. Well done!

We moved in just four months after the building opened and were among the very first residents. Things started off strong but after the first property manager Karen left it all went downhill fast. We were on the fence about renewing but we’re so glad we did! The new management team from Sares-Regis led by Martin has completely turned things around. The difference between them and the old management is like night and day. Emails actually get answered, issues are addressed promptly and the team makes communication easy and comfortable. Under the old management it often felt like they were avoiding tenant concerns entirely. Now we’re happy again and proud to call this beautiful building with great amenities home. Big shoutout to Carlos for always keeping the property clean and to Tony the security guard for keeping us safe and secure. We appreciate you both!

Yelp
I wanted to leave a follow-up review to highlight two of the newer staff members at Aster who have really elevated my living experience here. First, Colin - he's technically a leasing agent, but he goes above and beyond by helping out with any residential services as well. He always greets me with a warm, friendly smile and a genuinely welcoming demeanor. He's the kind of person who makes mornings brighter, and I always feel comfortable asking him questions because he's so approachable and helpful. He really adds such a warm and personal touch to living here. Second, Tony, one of the new security guards on the evening shift, has been just as fantastic. He's extremely friendly, always willing to help, and makes himself available whenever needed. Beyond that, he really creates a sense of safety and care - he goes the extra mile to make residents feel secure and supported. Both Colin and Tony are wonderful additions to the team, and I'm so glad they're here. They've each made such a positive difference, and it's clear they care about creating a great experience for residents!! Thanks both

Yelp
I applied for a unit at this building in late August. I was approved but decided to go with a different building. (Based on my experience the last 3 months, I made a great decision.) Fast forward to almost December and I still haven't received my $500 deposit back despite numerous calls & emails.

Yelp
Tony, our head of Security is amazing. I feel safe, yet not like I'm paying to live in a prison. He gets it. Also, the place is always clean! Shout out to the maintenance and management team! So far it's been a great experience

Yelp
Update: Even though this is a non-smoking building, some residents living here do not care or respect others and the smell of marijuana will travel through the vents to your unit. My unit smells like marijuana at nights and early mornings, also the hallways sometimes smell like it too. You can hear people above you slamming things against the floor so would recommend to get a unit you don't have someone living above you.

Yelp
I renewed my lease for another year and they didn't even raise rent! The amenities are still nice and maintenance fixes things quickly. I'm disappointed they don't hold as many activities in the pool area but it's probably cause the building is almost full and they don't need to advertise anymore. There has been some turnover with management and maintenance workers, but the new employees are still nice and easy to access. Shoutout to the new main security guard Tony who never sits down and stood outside by the gate for a whole week when it was stuck open!

Scott R.

Yelp
Tony is the best security guard I've experienced as an apartment resident. He's always pleasant and willing to help out. 11 out of 10!

Yelp
At first glance, Aster appears to be the ideal community. The finishes are modern, the amenities look beautiful during tours, and the leasing agents greet you with a warm and friendly attitude. Unfortunately, after living here for 13 months, I can confidently say that the experience does not live up to the initial impression. The building earns points for visual presentation only--everything else is disappointing. The common areas and hallways are poorly maintained. The floors often smell like urine and smoke, and trash from parties frequently piles up in the amenity spaces. Dog waste in the hallways is also a weekly occurrence, which is completely unacceptable for a property marketed as upscale living. Leasing Team: The leasing team comes across as two-faced. They are friendly and attentive during the leasing process, but once you move in, that courtesy vanishes. Promises made during the tour or application process become nonexistent. The team feels inexperienced and, at times, unwilling to address resident concerns. Parking Issues: When I moved in, guest parking was promised with reasonable limitations. Later, the management abruptly removed this privilege altogether. After pushback from residents, guest parking was reinstated but with fewer spaces, making it difficult to secure a spot. To make matters worse, registering guest vehicles through the resident portal apparently doesn't count unless you go through the assistant manager, Aja, directly. I even tried to pay for a second parking spot (there were two residents on my lease but only one spot assigned), and I was ready to pay the extra cost. Aja flat-out refused without providing any explanation, forcing us to use street parking. This was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Large Item Disposal Policy: Before my lease ended, the office sent out a notice instructing residents to submit work orders for large-item disposal to keep trash rooms safe and uncluttered. When I submitted a request, I received a call telling me I would need to hire a third party or pay extra for them to remove the item. Shortly afterward, management sent an email stating all large-item disposals would now require outside services. This constant backtracking on policies is exhausting and unfair to residents. Unresponsive Leasing Office: This is by far the biggest frustration. During the leasing process and move-in, the team is all ears. But as a resident, you will likely find your calls going straight to voicemail--and they will not return them. I rarely called unless it was necessary, but every time I did, I ended up having to walk to the leasing office because no one would pick up the phone. It's particularly frustrating to call moments before walking over, only to find staff available and free to talk once you're there in person. Why have a phone line if you don't use it to assist residents? Overall, Aster is a property that prioritizes appearances over substance. The amenities and finishes might look nice during a tour, but the day-to-day reality of living here is far from worth the price. If you're considering moving here, I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

Yelp
Aster has been an amazing place to live and that is due to the people who keep this place running smoothly. Shoutout to Tony the security guard who not only makes the residents feel like family, but also goes out of his way to help everyone out. It truly makes me glad to call this place home. Much love

Yelp
I've been living in Aster for a week now and it has been an incredible experience so far. What makes the experience greater is Tony, one of our courtesy patrols. He's been a ball of light towards everyone in the community and is just one of those passionate people who cares so much of their craft and community. I wish I can give more than 5 stars but Tony deserves more than anything in the world.

Yelp
Tony, best guard ever. Thanks for being there at 5 in the morning when we need you most. Thanks for your kindness and compassion. You are a really good person and of course a raise. Again, best guard ever!

Yelp
I was in Long Beach in February to look for places to live (relocating from San Francisco) and was really nervous about what I'd find around here for some reason. The Aster was only the second building I saw but as I saw more quickly became the only option I really wanted to live in that fell within my means and the leasing agents did an incredible job getting my application through and approved before I left town. Now I've lived in the building for about two weeks and continue to love the design of the building and the unit, all the brand new appliances, some fun community events, and the managers/staff being super helpful with every question. And holy smokes THE LOCATION. I had no idea just how convenient it was when I moved here, but it's super accessible from the freeway right as you're driving down broadway. Lots of EV charging in the parking garage. But beyond that I've been able to do all my errands and lots of exploring just walking around the neighborhood, down the promenade, over ocean boulevard, and down by the water. Truly killer location. Anyways if you're looking at moving here, I think you should go for it!

Yelp
My boyfriend moved to this apartment complex a few months ago thinking that it was a safe place to live, but it is not. Our electric bikes got stolen from the building's bike room, they were with two locks and you needed a key to get in . We heard that some cars parked on the building had their windows smashed. It is not a good place where you want to live .

Yelp
I am delighted to share my experience with Chris, the assistant manager at this community. From the moment I stepped into the lobby I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. Chris took the time to get to understand what I was looking for and answered my questions with patience and clarity. The community is breathtaking and a great place to unwind but what stood out the most was Chris. I've toured many communities but Chris went above and beyond if I do end up leasing here Chris would be the reason hands down. If you come to tour ask for Chris!

Yelp
Ever since I moved here the staff has been awesome!! Laura is so friendly and helpful with all my many questions, even the most trivial she is very patient and kind.
