How anybody gives this place less than 5 stars is beyond me! It was PERFECT. I have been to Athens, Turkey, and the Latin Quarter in Paris and enjoyed Mediterranean there. This little place took me back! The service was phenomenal and friendly. I had the gyro, hummus, and French fries. I 100% recommend them all! The fries were some of the best fries I’ve had. There’s a different texture and taste to them. They’re so crisp! The gyro was great and so tender. I could go on and on! I highly recommend this place. Super affordable too!

When I used to live in Adams Morgan 14 years ago, this was my go-to neighborhood joint for healthy, homestyle meals. One of the things I used to do on Friday evenings was get a takeout order. My favorites were the fall-off-the-bone lamb shanks stew; or the grilled chicken; or chicken kabobs - which all came with 2 sides and pita bread. They serve grilled salmon as well. They made, what I call rice-a-roni - better than that commercial brand - laced with subtle spices. Those family-sized portions always lasted me through the weekend. I also remember every time I stopped by, I’d see folks ordering this stuff that looked like green and red peppers in olive oil 🤔. Finally, I tried it and it was soooo much better than I expected. It was actually eggplant in this luscious, mild tomato sauce with subtle seasonings that made it simply delectable! From that point on I always included this ‘stuff’ in my order by pointing to the ‘stuff’ through the glass display at the counter. So, fast forward: I’m visiting my hometown and wondering if my neighborhood joint is still open…Hurray! I’m very happy to be in a familiar place seeing that not everything in DC has changed. Guess what? I now know what that ‘stuff’ is - 😆! I ordered 4 along with lamb shank stew and the ‘rice-a-roni’ to take back to my home in NYC! Homestyle, family-sized portions and a relaxed, no-nonsense atmosphere. A family-run business. They must be doing something right.

Google
Great food with beautiful presentation. Very nice staff. I had the vegetarian plate. Was soooo good.

Google
I really feel like they gave me amazing customer service. I called, texted and left an order note about me being pregnant and making sure the feta is pasteurized. I know most is, but better safe than sorry. They were patient with me and I ordered my gyro with no cheese to be extra safe. The food was great and this was an excellent first experience with them. I will be back!

Google
Simply amazing. Their fries are incredible, gyro amazing, and baklava so delicious. The prices are a steal for the quality of food. It has become my go to comfort food and always feel so satisfied. It is wonderful!

Google
Love this place, has become my go to spot on Adams Morgan. Food is delicious and authentic, haven't had a bad choice on the menu yet. Very friendly staff, made friends with the guy after a few visits and now he hooks it up with the portions. Not that he needed to you absolutely get your bang for your buck but I'm definitely a regular now. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Google
Do yourself a favor and come get the best fries, the best pizza, and the best gyro/kabobs DC has to offer. This place has the best pizza I’ve ever had in DC and I was born here and have eaten everywhere. Of all the places I’ve tried there hasn’t been better service or better pizza or gyro quality anywhere in the DMV. Do yourself a favor and come get the best fries, the best pizza, and the best gyro/kabobs DC has to offer.

Google
The pizza here is phenomenal—a crusty outer crust , light and airy inside, a firm underside and the dough is peppered with caraway seed—a really amazing dough. Robust zesty sauce and high quality mozz...just a “where have you been this whole time!!” DC pizza that immediately had me thinking of the next time... The owner is cool AF here too, fun place and good vibes.... Top 5 DC pics in my book now

Yelp
Very good takeaway spot that fills the void Astor (restaurant previously in this location) left. To be honest, much more flavorful and interesting menu compared to Astor. So many different ways to build your meal here and staff is willing to explain what is what as there are a lot of new options Good food. Come and eat it. Pita is a must.

Yelp
Definitely the best Kosher place in the area, (Better than char bar), but still not as good as some of the joints in NY, Miami or Baltimore. People are friendly but food takes too long. Great chill ambiance and the Everything usually turns out 9/10. The wings are great but small and overpriced. Chicken kabobs are the way to go but as a regular, I feel they raise the prices too often

Yelp
My friend and I went this Sunday for lunch to try Oh Mama Grill and it was fantastic! Especially for a place that just opened (but even generally), Oh Mama Grill had great service. Oh Mama Grill has a casual vibe with a TV and the prices are affordable, especially for DC and Adams Morgan. My friend and I were able to order and receive our chicken vegetable soup and shawarma quickly, brought to our table. Oh Mama Grill lets you customize your shawarma with salads and sauces including hummus, tahini, and amba (pickled mango) as well as spicy sauces at the counter. Our soup was good with ample amounts of chicken, carrots, celery, zucchini, and some other veggies. The shawarma was among the best I've had in DC and outside of the Middle East; it was juicy, flavorful, and a great turkey and lamb mix. Other than the laffa being more of a lavash, the shawarma was exactly what I expected and hoped for. The spicy sauces and salads were fresh and complemented the shawarma-a fantastic mix! Oh Mama Grill is a great addition to the Adams Morgan and DC food scene. I look forward to returning soon and enjoying more of their delicious menu!

Yelp
Holy moly, this place is the real deal. Huge portions and a super fresh toppings bar with a wide variety of options. Friendly staff, too. You'll be so happy you ate here -- I know I always am!

Marcus D.

Yelp
Outstanding shawarma!!! The food was awesome. Rich flavors with the salads, generous portion of the Turkey shawarma along with the hot puffy pita with hummus. Can't wait to go back, went on a Sunday and parking was easy. Best thing about this location is that afterwards went for a nice walk around town and took in the sites. Hear that there's a location in Rockville. Will try that location next time. Try this place!

Ami G.

Yelp
Amazing, delicious falafel - definitely the best in this part of DC. Highly recommend!

Jon R.

Yelp
Seriously best shawarma in town. Been going to Rockville location for years. Glad they have additional spot now.

Jules P.

Yelp
absolutely delish schwarma and falafel and sides. really enjoyable. can get busy, so allow more time on Sundays

Yelp
This little Israel restaurant should do better. Its menu prices are high (more than $16 for a pita sandwich) and the food doesn't live up to the prices. There are so many other alternatives in Adams Morgan at such price points, that it's nutty to charge so much. I did try to like this place, but the food is hit-or-miss, and can taste a bit stale. Why? Maybe because there's not enough foot traffic to keep the food fresh. It could be that what is not cooked up fresh, just has to sit and wait for customers (which, for Israeli-type fast-food, is not optimal). Maybe it's an unfair comparison, but if you compare this restaurant to similar ones in Israel, this place would be at the bottom of the pile in terms of food quality, flavours, and offerings. The only way to wrap ones head around how this restaurant operates, is to assume they are trying to minimize their food costs, in order to recoup as much of their initial investment in the place, as quickly as possible. Then there's the service. When there's more than just a few customers, the servers get flustered, screw up food prep, and you are forced to wait for ages to get your food. The whole way the ordering and pick up is done here, is dumb. Finally, there's zero ambience, and when you leave, your clothes smell like smoke, like you spent a whole day frying fries. So, much work needs to be done. It remains to be seen if they end up doing it.

Sara K.

Yelp
The food is soooo good. Everything is fresh and delicious, the menu has great variety of a lot of Israeli and Mediterranean classics, and the staff are super friendly. I absolutely love this place and go frequently - it never disappoints.

Sandra B.

Yelp
Amazing food. So authentic. I eat here every time I'm in DC. Don't listen to the haters out there who are spreading horrible lies everywhere.

Libi N.

Yelp
Best shawarma in dc/md! Everything is so delicious and fresh. Love the falafel as well!

Lisa R.

Yelp
incredible, authentic middle eastern food. the schnitzel and the sides were outstanding. A must visit in DC

Benjamin H.

Yelp
Very good food. Fresh veggies. Pleasant, helpful service. Outside seating. Neighborhood feel. AC.

Natalya A.

Yelp
Clean place and parking was quick to find. However, the chicken schuarma meat was cut very very tiny, dry and tasted old. The salads were great and the pita bread was warm and ok. We also ordered a side of beef cigars which was delicious but over priced at $3.00 each for a small size. We will not return because the main chicken schuarma was not fresh, old and tasteless.

Eileen S.

Yelp
Go and try this amazing restaurant! Love all of the salads and dips. Must go back and try everything

Felix D.

Yelp
The food is fresh, and delicious. The pita sandwich was very fluffy stuffed. The falafel had good fresh crunch and flavor.

Jacob C.

Yelp
Oh Mama is the perfect stop for anyone who loves Middle Eastern food, as well as people who keep kashrut. The owners are very nice, making sure each guest feels at home. The personalization of ordering makes sure that all customers are satisfied with their orders. The decor and music reminds anyone who has visited Israel of a quality "hole in the wall" place, with quality that continues to satisfy. The meals are delicious, with generously filling portions. I personally recommend the House Kebab, which is perfect in either baguettes or bowls Once you come once, it'll be one of your favorite places for years to come.

noemi g.

Yelp
We love Oh Mama Grill! From the falafel to the shawarma to their amazing salads, you can't go wrong eating here.

Tali D.

Yelp
Delicious delicious delicious!!!! Highly recommend the tortilla arias yummy, pargiot plate wow, schnitzel plate outstanding.

Benjamin B.

Yelp
So excited to see this place open, I've been several times since it's opened. Love the shwarma and dark meet chicken. Side salads are great.

Morris S.

Yelp
The Rockville location is great. Have been looking forward to the opening of the DC location for a long time. Went today and the quality of food here is the same (just as good) as the Rockville location. I was happy to see that there were a good number of people eating there today - I hope that it is a successful location as the area is in dire need of excellent take out places and middle eastern food more specifically.

Lorenzo V.

Yelp
Delicious shawarma, fresh vegetables, flavorful sauce, and perfectly spongy pita bread. Reasonable prices and quick service were added perks. 10/10 I will return and can't recommend this Oh Mamma Grill enough!

Ahuva S.

Yelp
The food here is very fresh and delicious. There are a large variety of different salads to try that provide so many different flavors and textures. I come back again and again to this place and am always amazed at how good it is. The prices are also very affordable for DC.

Kathleen C.

Yelp
Terrific falafel - especially the many side salad options that are offered alongside. Service still has some glitches (took 20+ minutes to get an order of matzo ball soup, and was initially given chicken soup instead), but I still recommend

Andrew M.

Yelp
I was so hopeful for this new addition to the neighborhood but they have let me down twice. The first time, I was the only person in the restaurant and the person taking my order would not get off his phone to even take my questions while taking my order. The second time I tried this place, it was through a delivery service and the order was canceled. I wish I could have more confidence in this addition to the neighborhood but they proved untrustworthy.

Kim B.

Yelp
Came in for a late lunch and ordered the falafel plate. The serving was generous and all the sides were fresh. I liked that the staff were patient and happy to answer any questions on the sides and sauces they had available. It's an easy build-your-own plate or wrap that makes for a quick lunch. I will definitely be back!

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
The food is fresh, delicious and very plentiful. Looking forward to eating there again soon!

Matthew H.

Yelp
Best new restaurant in town. The platters are big enough for two meals. Shawarma is out of this world and all the salads are great. I was babysitting my picky nieces and neither of them could get enough of the falafel and pita.

Zac J.

Yelp
I haven't been to the Rockville location but have been very pleasantly surprised by this place. The shawarma is great and the sides I've gotten (hummus and falafel) have also been great. I wouldn't say it's cheap by any means but you get what you pay for in the best way. The ingredients are high quality and fresh and the portion sizes are very good. This strip was in need of some fresh blood after a few recent closures and Oh Mama Grill has provided that and more

Sophie W.

Yelp
Foo was delicious! I ordered a falafel pita and it was amazing!! Great topping too!!!

Zainab A.

Yelp
Delicious family run little place, very authentic Israeli, including music and decor. Love!

Liz T.

Yelp
Really glad this place has joined the neighborhood. I got the chicken breast and pita and the chicken and veggie soup (they didn't have matzo ball soup but I hope to try it another time.) The food was all delicious, made fresh and well seasoned. They have a ton of toppings and salads to add on, all were great. The owner/manager/chef (??) who was working the line took time to give us all samples of the falafel. The ambiance is casual and it was pretty packed the whole time I was there. The same guy who gave us samples came by and asked how everything was and was smiling and engaging with all the customers. I'll definitely be back!

Roy D.

Yelp
Place was in the weeds with 3 customers. Placed an order online that was lost, waited in the location for almost 40 minutes before I just asked to cancel the order. For a fast casual place set up like Chipotle, I wouldn't recommend this place.

Derek L.

Yelp
Great, fresh Mediterranean food. It's about $13 for a falafel sandwich but it comes with a wide selection of sauces and foods to fill your sandwich with. The falafel balls were served hot and fresh out of the fryer.
