Google
Always on the hunt for good coffee shops, I stumbled across this one and instantly fell in love. Locally owned by a couple, filled with plants and serving roasts from around the world?! Hi, hello, please have my business! I had an iced latte with oat milk and a cranberry muffin, both were perfect. Can see this place quickly becoming my go to for take out or to work from because the vibe was just so lovely.

Google
Nice coffee shop in Astoria. The almond milk latte was good and so was the coffee cake I tried. There are plenty of people working on laptops. However, the free wifi is limited to only 1 hour. They have restrooms available for customers. Nice vibe and competent baristas. Would not recommend the green tea.

Google
From a Stephen Starr Chef of Constellation Culinary Agents this is my first go to for an excellent blend and variety of pastries when i go through Queens. Awesome staff and exceptional customer service to finish off this gem tucked away from the day to day....

Google
In town for the weekend and I’m not a coffee drinker but I’m making my wife watch a football game with me later so giving this a try first for her. We both got mochas and I was very happy with it. Cool hangout and very convenient from 30 ave train stop

Google
A very cute coffee shop, it is a little bit small but there is a nice bathroom, friendly service, and I enjoyed my iced chai and almond croissant. There was at least one outlet but not super convenient for computer work, nice place to read a book or chat with a friend.

Google
Lots of milk substitutes without compromising on the taste of the coffee. This place is a bit small so if you’re looking for some work space, it would be a bit difficult since it usually has a decent amount of people. My go to is a cappuccino and it never disappoints, consistently great especially for a morning coffee run.

Google
Locally owned cozy and homey coffee shop. The house coffee is amazing. A good place to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee and even get some work done. They wifi is good.

Tibor Krisko

Google
Solid coffee in a refreshing and funky-clean atmosphere. Space to work, free wifi, in pleasant surroundings. Late was pretty darn good, not the best in town. The Lemmon ginger iced tea was refreshing and bright.

Yelp
I came here at 1pm on a Saturday afternoon. My heart was set on a matcha latte. Sadly, they ran out of matcha. I ended up ordering a small drip coffee. The barista asked if I wanted space on top to add dairy. There was only one option. I assume it was half and half. The space is very spacious and comfortable. The WiFi is really fast. I wished I had my laptop with me. The 4 customers in the cafe were all typing away on theirs. This cafe is quite popular. It was busy when I was there. I kept seeing customers walking through the door. I would definitely come back here. It's a block away from the 30th Avenue station (N train).

Yelp
I always love Astoria coffee. For a nondescript place for coffee is always on point. They seem to only hire happy people, so the customer service is always welcoming. Their cortado never fails. I'll be back.

Yelp
Astoria Coffee was my favorite spot in my neighborhood, but they went out of business in January 2024. According to the signs on the store, Oliver Coffee will be opening at the same location in Spring 2024.

Yelp
Ate here today for lunch by myself during my lunch break while working full time and across the street as a teacher assistant at The 30th Avenue School (Q300). I had brought and ate the almond powdered croissant. It was good, tasty and delicious. The service there was also super fast, quick and attentive that I didn't feel rushed about what to choose anything to try for the first time. I couldn't agree more. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time! :)

Yelp
The coffee here is delicious! I usually stop in for a cappuccino, and it usually comes with a work of art on the top. I feel it is poured with great love of art and also creativity! The guy who works is pretty chill and it's cute. I can't wait until it opens up again for indoor dining. It's a really beautiful interior, but cozy. I like this cafe a lot!
google avatar

Yelp
For starters, takeout is the only option available. No seats inside and no curbside seating. Not a deal breaker, although I'd prefer a coffee shop where I can sit and relax a bit. I picked up two cold brews that I found to be ok and rather acidic and maybe a little fruity. For reference I prefer a smooth, bold and chocolately cup of joe. On to the pastries - we had 1 chocolate and 1 almond croissant. Almond wasn't too bad. A little cake like from the filling. The chocolate I really disliked. Not buttery whatsoever. I'd you decide on grabbing something and looking for a place to just chill, theres a park across the street. Beware though, looks like there's remnants of drunks and homeless hanging around.

Yelp
Decent coffee but the barista just seemed kinda annoyed and got rude because we told her its our first time and we asked few questions about their menu. The coffee itself is very good and the ambiance is lovely as well. We also had a croissant, it wasn't anything special. Worth the price? Unless you're really need food and its your option, then no. Indoor seating is available and it normally doesn't get too crowded inside either

Yelp
I spent a few hours working here one morning and overall, it was pretty quiet and plenty spacious. Ordered my usual iced latte with oat milk and paired it with a chocolate croissant for breakfast - my iced latte was just what I needed but if I came again, I would pass on the baked goods. Good vibes, barista was friendly, and this was one of the better coffee shops I've stopped at in Queens so I would definitely recommend stopping by.
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
The ambiance is great and the drinks seem to be of high quality. Service was good. However, the wifi was not strong enough for me to work so I had to leave and would probably only return for a drink on the go for that reason.
google avatar

Ivan O.

Yelp
18 Apt 2021 Mediocre espresso at fancy coffee prices. Sunday's barista was just going through the motions. Small space that looks nice but isn't yet allowing indoor seating. Look elsewhere. By the numbers: Food NA Coffee 3/5 Service 2/5 Ambiance NA (covid) Value 3/5 Espresso - Okay. Over roasted beans give it a motor oil flavor and only moderate caffeine.
google avatar

Angel L.

Yelp
Excellent coffee. Cool vibes. Great service. What more can you ask for in a coffee shop? We always stop in when we're in the area.
google avatar

Jeff M.

Yelp
Great coffee and cool spot to hang and get some e-mails done. Snacks are solid and recommend.

Melany W.

Yelp
The barista working here doesnt seem to know the laws in regards to service animals. You can not deny service to someone that has a service animal. It's illegal and she claimed food and safety laws ect. And according to this coffee shops reviews, the establishment was reported for other issues in regarding to food safety. Dogs are not one of them. My dog was also in a backpack. Not even on the ground. The barista was so rude. Heres the Animal Service Law code 28 CFR § 35.136 .... If you are disabled and want to feel welcome at a coffee shop avoid going to this place.

Yelp
Stopped in to get some warmth as I was shopping in the neighborhood. Really awesome vibe. I got a small mocha latte and it was delicious. The chocolate they used created the perfect amount of sweetness. Really enjoyed it.

Yelp
Astoria is really up and coming with their cafes and coffee shops - and I am so here for it! I needed a place where I can get some work done and also get a little caffeine kick. I stopped by around 2pm on a Wednesday and it was surprisingly busy. Most of the tables/chairs were taken but lucky for me, someone was leaving their table after I ordered. I ordered a Matcha Latte (~$5.50). It was prepared pretty quickly along with some latte art and I was ready to get to work. The Matcha Latte was creamy and the matcha wasn't super bitter or overpowering like with other places. It was the perfect drinking temperature. I finished it so quick because of that, but who's complaining! My only complaint was that it's a bit pricy for a latte. They play awesome R&B/soul music here which surprisingly wasn't too distracting, but if you do get distracted, I recommend bringing your own earphones or earplugs. The ambiance here is awesome and I love the yellow stools they have! Great addition to the Astoria area. I'd probably come back!

Yelp
Was looking for a nice hipster cafe on this block and I was pretty satisfied with their iced coffee. It's just around the corner from Athens Square and also the N/W station.
google avatar

Mei L.

Yelp
Good cup of cold brew in my friend's neighborhood that I was staying at. I wish they had the avocado plants I saw in the pictures to buy but it was still cute.
google avatar

Melanie D.

Yelp
Very convenient location! Small menu but it will get the job done. I got the iced mocha. You can stay or go there's plenty of seating. Staff was very pleasant, i was greeted the second i walked in. Really great service. I would recommend !
google avatar

Yelp
Probably one of the best iced lattes I've had so far in the Queens area! This will be my go to place if I move to this area! They also have artwork from a local artist and they're really beautiful photography! I love the feel of this small coffee shop! Just take out so no sitting down yet but hopefully will change as the pandemic one day ends.

Yelp
I've been going to Astoria Coffee before and after the lockdowns and I'll continue to come here even if I move away from the area. Perfect coffee and great customer service! The cafe is clean and open - it had a nice, quiet atmosphere conducive for working on your laptop or reading a book when indoor seating was possible. Not a place for loud and rowdy conversations (I'd recommend Kinship on Steinway for a get-together with a group of friends when they re-open for indoor seating). There are cute little plants for sale and Forty Weight Coffee beans and other high quality beans can be purchased. I haven't met a barista I don't like at this place (I can't say that about every cafe I've been to!) and hope they stick around for a long time. They're definitely a gem that makes Astoria a great community to live!
google avatar

Yelp
Astoria coffee is still open for take-out during the corona virus epidemic. They've taken good precautions, and the coffee remains top quality. Hang in there, Astoria Coffee!
google avatar

Carol B.

Yelp
This place makes phenomenal chai lattes with cinnamon. I got mine with oat milk. The milk is perfectly frothed, not too hot, and the chai isn't too sweet. They also serve some treats. Cozy and quiet cafe.
google avatar

Yelp
I love the cozy vibe of Astoria Coffee. The huge windows that let the sunshine right in. The simple industrial look with the communal table. The friendly barista that made us well crafted: Cappuccino and Macchiato. Perfect for meeting up with friend for a coffee date or just chill out a little by yourself. Highly recommended if you are in the neighbourhood.

Yelp
If it wasn't for the prominent, beautifully sprawled logo on their walls, I would have likened Astoria Coffee to coffee shops more commonly found in Brooklyn. There is a tinge of a hipster vibe here, though the clean and minimalist decor is something akin to a Real Simple magazine. Like any good coffee shop, the coffee steals the show. The rest of the menu included. The owners, Dennis and Liz, have origins in the Midwest before settling down in Astoria. They went from a successful coffee delivery service to this brick & mortar location. Even as a novice coffee lover, I can appreciate all the hard work they've put in to make this place a success. Even the name "Astoria Coffee" speaks to the simplicity of the theme, which is all about featuring great coffee to the greater community in Queens. The roasters are on rotation, meaning they often will feature roasters from all parts of the country. This means their coffee could have a new kick from month to month, which is as seasonal as one gets in this industry. This reflects in their simple menu, from drip coffee to espressos to one of the best matcha lattes ($3) I've had in forever. The same goes for the chai latte ($4). There is also beer and wine as well, which means this place is low-key happy hour fun. There are a limited number of baked goods as well, such as gluten free brownies ($4) and "St. Louis" gooey cakes ($2). Randomly they have Alfajores ($3) which is pretty cool and some killer Date + Walnut Bars ($3). They go well with their selection of coffee / tea drinks and make great snacks on the go. Their interior is lovely. Spacious without being too big, yet not so small that anyone would feel cramped in here. Their bright yellow stools give the place a nice color boost within their bright and beautiful white walls and high ceilings. Coffee dates, solo caffeine stays should fare well here, even the occasional group.

Yelp
If you don't mind paying the EXPENSIVE tag of almost $7.00 for a 12 ounce cappuccino (they charge $1 for almond milk option) and have it served by the rudest bitchiest barista, please go here. Owner of the establishment: Read earlier reviews if you don't believe me. Please consider firing this barista. I recently discovered, the 5 star rated "the Barn Coffee shop" on Hoyt Avenue South, where the coffee and food is excellent, and the same size cappuccino is $4.68.
google avatar

Yelp
To be fair, I gave 3* just because I don't like the unwelcoming annoyed face of the barista that I enter the shop. Whenever I decided I need to buy another bag of coffee bean, SNAPS! It's that snotty again!! Ugh!!!!!!!!!!! There're so many coffee shops around at least be nice and make people come back. Isn't that the whole point to open a business?! Other than that issue, I love their espresso bean that they use and they'd sell them too along whatever the variety coffee bean on their shelves. I have tried other coffee shops in the neighborhood I'd say I like this one better. I just wish all the baristas here are friendly!
google avatar

Heejin P.

Yelp
I came here to get some work done but their wifi was only free for 1 hour which was a huge turnoff for me. I ordered an iced chai which was not bad but was incredibly small (I would guess it's an 8oz cup, or smaller) and given the price ($4), it wasn't really worth it. The atmosphere was very nice and had stool seating, but I wouldn't return given the small expensive drinks and the limited wifi.

Yelp
On a weekend, decided to go on a morning coffee walk and support one of my local coffee shops instead of going to the typical Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts that I usually go to on a weekday. It's tucked away on a side street but I've passed by it before while roaming around the neighborhood so decided to try it. I love that they also have some T-shirts that they sell that says "Astoria Coffee." I've been trying to find a local shirt to purchase! It's kinda cute that they still use a notepad to take orders and as the barista makes them, he crosses them off. Pros: Iced coffee and the hot chocolate were delicious, they offer Stevia (type of sugar - the good kind! - not offered everywhere), decent amount of tables and chairs that you can just stay for awhile and study or read a book. Cons: The line gets long because there's only one barista and one cashier, you have to ask for milk for your coffee instead of it being readily available at the counter Overall it's a cute place and if the lines aren't too bad, I wouldn't mind going back again.

Yelp
This cute coffeeshop has great staff, is well air-conditioned, and gets lots of natural light. Not a lot of food options -- just coffee/tea/chai/hot chocolate and some pastries. They seemed to have more merch than food. The merch was also very cute. Almost bought something.
google avatar

Yelp
It was my first time patronize the shop as well as my last time. Temperature in the shop was same as outside about 87 Fahrenheit. I was intimidated by heat when I stepped in the shop, I settled for the shop due to I was thirsted to death. The counter guy seems aren't happy at all. Perhaps, he was intimidated by the heat as well.

Yelp
A great new addition to the coffee and bar scene in Astoria. Tucked away across from Trade Fair and down the block from Verizon (30th Ave train station) their cheerful colors and open space are inviting. On our first visit I had the Barley Tea (decaf option) and it's nutty flavor was smooth and pleasant. For those of you in search of the bean and it's accompanying kick there will be plenty to satisfy your cravings. They feature roasters from all over the world. My husband had a regular coffee and we split three pastries which were all fresh and delicious. Owners Dennis and Lisa will soon be adding beer and wine to their offerings which should make things interesting after-hours. Fun!
google avatar

Kai M.

Yelp
Small space that's popular for the remote workers. Only had a roobios brewed tea; which was very good. One less star for the limit on the WiFi.
google avatar

Renee R.

Yelp
This is a nice low key very clean easy on the eye coffee shop ‍. I have a migraine as I'm writing this and this place is what the dr ordered. Nothing over stimulating and good selection of tea (if you're not in a coffee mood). The only pit are the seats I'm not a fan of stools but other than that def a spot to come chill out in
google avatar

Jason C.

Yelp
I got an iced Americano. it wasn't too watery. the americano went down smooth with a little richiness. it wasnt bitter at all. there was obvious notes of cinnamon and ginger. kind of like a gingerbread cookie. the gingerbread taste kept me thinking and guessing before i determined it did definitely taste like gingerbread. i like a thinking coffee! before I left, I planned to ask what bean was used but totally forgot. not bad for $3. shop had a chill vibe. it was clean with big bright windows.
google avatar

Yelp
Astoria Coffee's schtick is that they rotate beans from new, lesser-known roasters. When every coffee shop in the city is using Stumptown, Intelligentsia and Counter Culture, Astoria Coffee tries to do something different. I won't claim that my coffee expertise is nuanced enough to fully appreciate it, but I definitely respect the principle and would make a point of coming here just for that. I spent a really pleasant evening here with friends over several lattes. This modern coffee shop is cute and bright inside, with a moderate amount of space for laptop workers. Fortunately or not, the location isn't obvious until you walk right in front of the shop. The owner is Japanese American, and there are a few Japanese touches throughout the place. Latte art fans won't be disappointed - you'll get some pretty swirls in your cup. The matcha latte was beautiful, but not heavy/bitter enough with the matcha for me. Similarly, the chai latte was tasty but a little too milky - I'm sure they'd spice it up heavier if asked. The latte, on the other hand, was great. When I visited, they were using Brioso beans, which has this strange, faint chicory flavor (but presumably no chicory). Their "happy hour" means $1 off everything in the pastry case (normally $3) once it hits 5pm. Muffins and scones are from Amy's Bread (try the veggie scone!), croissants are from CeciCela. Goes without saying that all are tasty!
google avatar

Lauren H.

Yelp
I really like this little shop! I've been here about three times now. I usually love their mochas, but I've noticed some baristas here are better then others (but that's sort of everywhere). That being said, my last mocha here was seriously great!!! They also have different milk options, for sure almond and oat. They have several pastry options, cookies, croissants, etc. As well as ice cream sandwiches and affogato. You can even buy some of their merch - bags, coffee mugs and roasted beans. This place also has a bathroom for their customers, which is a plus. They do have WiFi, but as of recently they only give their guests a complimentary hour before it kicks you off and you have to pay. Overall, definitely stop in for a drink!
google avatar

Connie L.

Yelp
I was never going to come because of the limited wifi time (I usually go to cafes to study), but one day I decided to just chill so I came here. The space is tight, but not uncomfortable. There are 2-3 window bar seats, 3-4 counter bar seats, a large communal table and 3 smaller tables that still seat 4 each. When I got here there were scattered seats left (if I came with more than one friend it would've been an issue). Their large windows let in a lot of natural lighting, so that's always nice. I got an iced matcha latte ($5) and there was a lot of ice in it. Other than that it was pretty standard.
google avatar

Jeimison M.

Yelp
I wanted to give a try at this coffee shop since looks nice and cozy, first no seats available.... Mediocre espresso, and overpriced. I ordered a vanilla latte that tasted like a milkshake. No coffe taste at all, I asked the barista to remake it and rudly said I need to order a cappuccino next time. Non sense!!! He handed me a smaller cup with the same. I ended up paying almost $8 for a single shot of espresso. DO NOT COME HERE. Go to Under Pressure coffe around the corner, best espresso bar in the neighborhood. Never come back.
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
I came here on a Sunday morning with the wife. She had a cappuccino and I had a double espresso. We also tried a blueberry muffin. Everything was very good, blueberries were fresh and moist. The place was very clean and quiet as well. Perfect for a Relaxing Sunday morning!
google avatar

Daniel R.

Yelp
I ordered matcha latte here and all I tasted was almond milk they are always stingy with the matcha it will be my last time coming here
google avatar

Caitlyn C.

Yelp
Astoria coffee may be the best pure coffee in Astoria. There are some other shops that do fun lattes and treats, but the quality of the drip and espresso coffees here are superb. It's also a really cute cafe! It's always really sunny and sweet here with so much natural light. The only downfall I'll say to this place is that the staff is never super friendly. I wouldn't say there are outright rude, I've just never had an overly friendly experience here. Maybe that's their vibe. I'm not sure. I will definitely continue to come here for coffee but it's not a spot I'd want to hang at for a while to read or work or chat with friends.
google avatar

Amanda B.

Yelp
Very quiet little coffee shop. I ordered a roasted veggie scone, which was a little spicy and very flaky. Tasty for sure. I also got their large iced coffee. For both it was $8. Not shocking or outrageously overpriced. I would come here again if I needed a quiet place to drink a quick java. Didn't love the metal high stools, not super comfy for sitting for more than 20-30mins, but maybe that's the intention?

Michelle G.

Yelp
We had two hot chocolates, and others had coffee, and at $6.00 each for hot chocolate, with NO IN-HOUSE DINING (come-on! It's 2022. Everyone is getting double boostered. WTF??!), we could have gone to Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks and felt more welcomed and comfortable. They have these big, beautiful tables to sit and drink your coffee, and yet, they will not allow you to do so. It makes me wonder how they are financially surviving? Honestly- this is a conundrum. On a freezing, rainy day, we went in to warm-up. We had umbrellas and satchels with binders for a meeting. Our hands were very full, and there was no notice upon entering that there was no in-person dining. So we had to awkwardly re-arrange all of our belongings to accommodate carrying danishes, coffee cups, hot chocolate, muffins, and all trying not to get the orders confused. It was such an issue and a problem and just an added stress to an already stressful day ahead that we certainly DID NOT need! It makes me wonder that maybe they continue not to have in-person dining because the girl at the front doesn't like to clean the tables all day. I look at the displays behind the counter and they are full of dust. So someone doesn't like to clean. Next time I'm on 30th Avenue and I have a meeting, I'm choosing a place like Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts (just around the corner on 30th) where I know we can sit and decompress before entering our negotiations. This is sad because ordinarily I really like to support locally owned small businesses. But in all honesty, I cannot support this one. It's product and it's service just do not merit it.
google avatar

Sasha M.

Yelp
Great coffee. Still closed for inside eating, despite restaurants allowed to reopen inside.
google avatar

Tom T.

Yelp
While parking may be a challenge (that's Astoria ), the coffee was smooth, not bitter, and the Oat milk option was a nice touch The scone was fresh and delicious

Veronica B.

Yelp
Honestly I feel bad giving this place three stars Bc the drinks are phenomenal. BUT the one girl who has been their barista for quite awhile is the biggest and rudest B you will meet. Shes very unfriendly, extremely dismissive, no people skills whatsoever and does not make you feel welcomed at all. For the only face in the building, you would expect better customer service. Now Don, the male barista - he's awesome!

Ismat C.

Yelp
Cool vibe. Satisfactory coffee, etc. Note, this is very much a small coffee shop, so don't expect all the amenities like a Starbucks. Drink options are very limited and dairy-alternatives are few and with a charge. Also the WiFi has a time limit and they frequently change up the password so don't try lounging around.
google avatar

Pamela L.

Yelp
An adorable local coffee shop right off the 30th Ave stop on the N,Q line. They have a simple menu of coffees, teas, espresso. But my favorite things about this place are the giant windows that let in streams of sunlight, clean homey look, and the baristas are so friendly! They even sell beanies next to the register that were handmade by a regular customer. If you have dairy restrictions, they also offer soy and almond milk. Went in on an early Friday morning and it was QUIET. Perfect if you want to get some work done. Some other customers commandeered another table and was working away productively. Wifi is limited to one hour though. No credit card minimum!

Carolina D.

Yelp
I walked 30 minutes cause a friend told me they had the best almond croissant. It wasn't the best at all. It was hard, cold and dry. I asked for it to be warm up and they said there was no microwave or oven. Really disappointed
