"Opened in 2022, this reimagined Amangansett classic now serves Brooklynified Italian American dinners by the chef of . The menu is fun and indulgent, with highlights like the catch of the day sliced into Italian sashimi with capers, campanalle with spicy vodka sauce, an excellent chicken parm on a sesame bun, plus vegan pizzas and ice cream sundaes. Great Liver, Bacon and Onions. It was cooked perfectly and had lots of flavor. The house salad and dressing was very good and fresh. The garlic bread was perfect. The server was very friendly and attentive. The place is very clean and has some must return for items. The draft beer was clean and fresh. The only con was the pasta shells were over cooked. Had they been Al dente they would have been perfect with the excellent gravy.

Google
The house special calzone is my wife's and my favorite dish. We love the sauce that is provided. The service is excellent. I don't understand why the other reviewer said they were rude. I have never seen anyone working there as anything but friendly. The only negative I have is that the parking lot could use more light and fill in the pot holes.

Google
This wonderful place, built and open in 1980, has really great food at very good prices. I'm hungry just writing this!!! Go see what it's all about...

Google
Been here many times and finally decided to review. I love the classic mom and pop feel this place offers and the made-to-order feel, and homemade taste. This place is small town Italian restaurant feel, laid back, and old school in the best way. It is not for those who like updated, pretentious, fancy chains who pretend to be authentic.

Google
Pizza & calzone, especially the calzone, were excellent! Best calzones around!

Google
The pizza is amazing, the gyros are fabulous and the staff is very friendly! We love Astro's!

Google
This is a solid option for pizza and Italian-American food in the area. The quality is nice, portions are usually generous, and prices are a little lower than most in town. The restaurant is older and could use some visual updates, but on the plus side it is large enough for parties while being in a quiet location. Service has been quick and friendly. Overall Astro's is better than most. I'd recommend.

Yelp
There are few things more satisfying than an Astors gyro platter. The Greek salad that comes with it is delicious and they're not cheap with the feta! I don't live in the area so I called to check that they were still open. To my luck they were and when I picked up my order, everything was the same, which is awesome! I was glad to see that the place was packed too! Owners are so kind and wonderful hard working people. We appreciate you! Thanks for being great!

Yelp
BBQ Chicken Pizza I think is the best thing on their menu I order it every time I'm there (at least once every couple of weeks).

Yelp
Old school pizza restaurant, while it's never super crowded. The food is always real good and the pizza is fantastic. The crust is light and thin with good flavor. Perfect amount of sauce, cheese, and toppings. They have beer but I don't think they have a liquor license. Not that you need one at a pizza joint.

Yelp
I had previously ordered a grinder here that I wasn't a big fan of. However, a friend recently dropped by with a pizza and I thought it was very good. I will be ordering another today!

Yelp
great food terribly bad service!the worst attitude a manager can have! extremely rude manager who was the rudest to a first time customer!!! the rudest started the moment i dialed, came in ask for the manager and it was the manager that was rude and continued to be even ruder!!! will pay 2x for poor food than be talked down to by their manager!! i own a multi-million dollar establishment and you dont treat people like that!!! never again no food is worth that treatment!!!!!!

Yelp
BEWARE. We stopped by last night for the first time. Only one other table with guests at 6.15. Hubbie changed to bottled beer after a draft beer. It tasted " dirty" which led him to think the taps were not cleaned. ( hubby is a chef that had owned a bar and restaurant). Wings and fried mushroom were nice. Enjoyed my fried clams but the fries were obviously frozen with that tasteless non flavor. Hubby ordered the gyro. Seemed a little suspect. Got home and puked his guys out. Never again. Also I heard Mens toilets also dirty. Yes.... Do judge a place you eat at by the conditions of the restroom!

Yelp
horrible customer service, threaten to call the cops for making separate orders on the phone. did not serve a high school basketball team, women on the phone thought team was prank calling.

Yelp
Im a regular here and I come in all the time. The food is great but the service is surprisingly unprofessional. Today, we came in about an hour before closing, and the waitress had to ask and make sure it was okay to seat us still... We came in at 8 and they close at 9. Then, after we were seated, about 5 min later the waitress comes back and asks us to move our seat to another location so she could vacuum the floor, even though there are 2 other tables full of people sitting right next to us... So we move to the other side, and order our food. The entire time, the waitress couldn't seem to be bothered. The meal was spent listening to the vacuum run and feeling guilty for coming in. The food is expensive and the atmosphere is in desperate need of an update, but we come anyways. You think that as regulars, we would be treated with respect, but we felt the need to apologize on the way out because the waitress made us feel unwelcome. Definitely got the vibe that we were keeping the waitress from leaving early, and that she was not happy (we left 10 minutes before closing.)

Yelp
I was just passing through the area and wanted a pizza for take out. This pizza was well worth the wait. Nice thick pie with crispy crust. The buffalo chicken had the right amount of spicy

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time a couple nights ago. Was very excited when I walked in only to find a server with no emotion at all on her face. We were barely even greeted. I just don't get how you can be so rude when your restaurant is completely empty. Wouldn't you be happy to see people actually coming in? I swear I never saw her smile once. Anyways, the French onion soup was delicious as was the pizza but I just wish it was more welcoming.

Martin B.

Yelp
Regular purchaser of calzone's here and I love them. Price seems fair and they always have it ready in 20 minutes. Have seen the comments on the less then enthusiastic service and can confirm the odds interacting with a person that is clearly not enthusiastic about being their are relatively good even if you're simply paying. But it's a great calzone.

Yelp
Passed through town and was lucky enough to find this local gem. Fantastic fresh pizza hand made by the generous owner. A rare treat you can only experience at a family owned restaurant. If you're tired of the pre-made frozen crap that most places deliver, stop by and try a pie. With the generous portions, I wasn't able to try the Calzones, but saw someone at the table next to us eating one. Looked fantastic and fresh. Will certainly make it a point to stop by anytime I'm in the neighborhood!

Darius D.

Yelp
Good calzones. I ordered a pepperoni calzone. It was ready in 15 mins and had generous amounts of ricotta and mozzarella. Nice puffed crust and side of sauce which although a light meat sauce, it worked.

C. S.

Yelp
One of my favorite pizza joints. Their pizza is delicious, Greek-style with somewhat sweet sauce. The real gem though is their meatballs. They have a baked pasta with meatballs that is out of this world. Best meatballs I've ever had. Ever. We travel 30 miles for them. So good. I'm drooling while typing this.

Jeffrey P.

Yelp
Friendly staff. Big portions. A real nice place to eat. Spaghetti and meatballs, fried scallops, a white pizza with broccoli, chicken and garlic, and the onion rings are a few of the menu items that I have tried so far. Excellent work there in the kitchen

Greg R.

Yelp
Love Astros! Great neighborhood spot with tasty food and fast and friendly service. Great value with the portion sizes. Definitely my go-to for any meal. Good selection of beers as well! Don't miss this place.

daniel r.

Yelp
Astros is one of those places that you will really miss if its not there anymore....yet when it is there we take it for granted. I sense the crowds are down at Astros from where they once were and I don't know why. went there for takeout the other night.....i had the delicious meat ravioli...covered in mozzarella cheese. delicious and served piping hot. my wife had the lasagna and savored every bite. my son had a small pizza....said the sausages and cheese were delicious. the included salads were fresh and the garlic bread was warm and tasty. prices might be a tad high for some...but the quality seems like its worth it. the restaurant is spacious and attractive but most folks seems to order "to go". I've been going here for 25 years plus...never had a bad meal.

Jon C.

Yelp
Havent been here in a few years and the quality of the food is just not the same as it was. Bland sandwiches and sauce. It was just ok. Too pricy for the quality.

Daniel C.

Yelp
I have always loved this place. Something about it says home. My dad loved it, and took me here alot. The calzones are huge, good pizza, fresh taste, I get there when I can.

Ang D.

Yelp
Just OK. I lived less than five minutes away from here and I'd rather make the drive into town or go to other places that have better pizza and more quality to the ingredients. Plus, it's a little overpriced. I bought the Swedish meatballs dinner and the portions are tiny, not to mention the food itself was way over-salted. As for the pizza, the dough was a little soggy and flimsy, and nothing in the menu selection made this place really stand out from the numerous other pizzerias in the area. Overall, the location is convenient because it's right on Rte. 5 and easy to find, but you can do better with other places to eat nearby.

Molly N.

Yelp
Food is always good but customer service is not . Everytime I call to place an order to pick up, the person is extremely rude. It happens every time I call. If I ask a question they respond back in a sassy way and make me feel stupid. Should work on customer service.

Sarah W.

Yelp
Whenever I'm visiting family in Northern Connecticut, pizza from Astros is a must! Everyone who works there is super friendly and the restaurant has a home-y vibe. Their calzones are also slammin'.

Anthony M.

Yelp
Anywhere else this place would get 3 stars but there are few if any good restaurants in or around enfield ct. Food is good, not great, but good for an inexspensive night out for dinner.

Ray L.

Yelp
My wife and I went for pizza just before Christmas and ordered 2 small pizzas as we like different toppings we only eat half at the restaurant and take the rest home to eat the next day. On getting home I saw that there was a Piece missing out of each. I called the restaurant and asked the girl what happened to the 2 pieces. She told me one was crushed when she put it in the box and the other was dropped on the floor. I think she ate the 2 pieces as she didn't comment on the missing pieces while we were at the restaurant. Unbelievable! Definitely a first. I don't think they'll be seeing us again.

Shelly W.

Yelp
Family favorite, now we don't live in Enfield anymore, but we still order from Astro's!

D J.

Yelp
One of the best calzones in the area!! Generous portions & reasonably priced. The owner Steve has been serving consistently good meals here for many years. They also have take-out which are the same quality/portion ad you would receive while dining in. Give this place a try.

Brandon B.

Yelp
Great place to stop by if your in the are, quality food and service. If you are a fan of calzones you must try one from them.

Joe J.

Yelp
This restaurant has not been updated since the 70's. The booths and tables are caked with decades of filth, some seats are torn, the carpet is severely stained and the place wreaks. But I had starving kids and decided to stay and order. The sauce that came with our obviously long-term frozen fried mozzarella square was rancid. It smelled like it had been made a week ago and kept out ever since. I instructed my children not to eat it and we pushed it aside. When our pizza came, the waitress said, "Are you done with your appetizer?" and she took it away, no questions asked. Again, because it was late and my kids were starving, we ate the pizza. I could only stomach two pieces and my kids and my wife only ate one piece each. We wrapped the rest to go and darted out, paying for the "freezer to fryer to table" mozzarella and rancid sauce because we just wanted to get out of there and feared that the incompetent server would have taken the rest of the evening to take it off our bill. The next day was an adventure. All four of us took turns using the restroom and my youngest daughter cried for about two hours with intense stomach pain. I examined the pizza we took home and realized that the sauce was also rancid. They had covered it up with a huge amount of salt which masked the flavor as we were eating it. I have no idea how this place can stay in business. It should have been shut down years ago. They are going to kill someone. The absolute worst restaurant experience I have EVER had.
