The Best Croissants in Miami, Florida | Eater Miami

"Two cafes and two boutique shops make it easy to enjoy this laid-back bakery’s croissants no matter what part of town diners find themselves in. They’re not stingy with the good stuff either: chocolate croissants offer two bars of chocolate melted inside. Another favorite is the almond croissant. Of course, chocolate almond is the way to go for those suffering from a bout of indecisiveness." - Alona Martinez

This is one of those places where it’s incredibly cozy, where you feel care and attention to every detail. The menu isn’t extensive but perfectly curated—you can confidently order anything, and I can say with great certainty that you’ll love it. The pastries and baguettes are baked on-site and have an amazing crunch. Absolutely gorgeous desserts with unusual, complex flavor combinations—millefeuille is my favorite here. High-quality, always fresh, and friendly staff.

Atelier Monnier is a little, hidden French gem in Brickell. I used to live in Belgium for a bit and loved going to all the famous chocolate houses, so to find Neuhaus chocolates in our city was amazing! Much of the staff and management is also actually French, which is super cool. They have a beautiful selection of wines and many gift baskets. My husband got me a beautiful gift for Valentine’s Day with a sparking wine and heart tin of Neuhaus chocolates but I still had yet had the chance to go for lunch here until yesterday. Matthew (from France, again a great thing when going to a French place!) gave us great recommendations and was pleasant to chat with. I got the lunch combo, which I had with their soup of the day (minestrone) and a quiche and it came with choice of a sweet, which I picked to have a Neuhaus cornet (my favorite from when I lived in Belgium!). The soup was a generous portion and was hearty and delicious. My sister had the salmon caprese salad, which had an amazing lemon dressing and a generous portion of salmon. Definitely recommend Atelier Monnier for a beautiful lunch and for all your special gifting needs, especially now during the holidays!

Google
Enjoy the ambience for something super casual. Outdoor seating. They have cute mini desserts like mousse and tiramisu if you don’t want something large. I went for the croissant and enjoyed the flavor of the mini almond croissants but the others not the best I’ve ever had but good. The coffee was a great flavor.

Google
This place was so dirty, cockroaches crawling all over and the service was so slow! Overheard the owner say “use your brain” then speaking in French. Kept pushing us to buy wine in the morning, the short server with long black hair is not a team player. She kept messing up are order and getting mad at the staff. She was the first to take the money off the table. If you want to sit and have a meal and listen to the people you’re paying to downgrade everyone come here. No one could speak clear English which was fine tell they made you feel like you are the one doing something wrong. I can’t believe how bad this place has went down hill since 2015. I truly thought it was an act tell the server was crying telling us all the horror that goes on here. 0 stars! Do not waste your money or time here SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN

Google
For breakfast, this is the hidden gem. Authentic French cafe and bakery serves fresh and flavorful options at reasonable prices. Quiche, savory crepes, brioche French toast and eggs Benedict were delightful.

Google
The place inside needs light. Out side is nice. They have good coffee but the almond croissant, which I am looking for the best one, at this moment is the best I have tried. Better than la Croquantine. I LOVE BOTH but this one is a little better. Absolutly delicious.

I’m, normally, client to pinecrest store where I feel very happy with the service and the place. I moved recently to Brickell and today decide to try the place everything was good but the server made a mistake on my order… she apologized and offered a discount: was nice because sometimes things happened and she do her best. I will try an other day to give an other opportunity.

Excellent service and delicious food. We also loved the outdoor patio which had plenty of shade. Highly recommend

Yelp
Always come here for a quick bite- service is fast and reliable. The seating is both indoor and outdoor however they always have a table available plus the outdoor seating has a great view of brickell ave. The food is delicious whether you want a quick bite or a sandwich style meal. Overall 10/10

Yelp
I asked for tuna on a croissant, like I always get, to go. I got home and open it up and this is clearly not a croissant. It's a big baguette. So disappointing! I should've known because a man waited on me, and he seemed very confused about everything including the payment process. I do love how cute this café is and bakery options and their vanilla decaf latte is delicious! I'm just so disappointed opening the sandwich at home because I was really wanting a croissant part of the sandwich more than what was inside!

Yelp
Food mediocre service is gross ambiance feels heavy and it's most likely dirty and full of roach no organized is like they don't follow any protocols the woman's really rude bad English the pastry's old every year instead of improving it's worst I'm not surprise why it's going down they can't even keep employees bad owners poor management.

Yelp
Thanks, Yelpsters, for the tip. I wsas staying at a nearby hotel and walked over to Atelier Monnier for a cortado and a pastry. The service was both excellent and friendly. The coffee and pastry were excellent. If it had been just a tad warmer I would have sat outside on the very sunny morning I was there. Atelier Monnier looks like a good place for breakfast, brunch, a salad, or a sandwich. I'll try it again next time I am in the area.

Yelp
Great French Bakery/Cafe/Wine Cellar for a reliable quick bite while non pretentious, as many others can be!! Great service, prices and awesome view of Brickell Avenue...
google avatar

Yelp
Almond croissant- was too oily and baked for my liking, not enough fluffiness and I could taste the grease with every bite. Macaroons- were hard and not as soft in the inside and you could taste straight sugar instead of the flavoring. Other bakery recommendations instead: Maison Valentine is the only French bakery I know that sells both high quality almond croissant and macarons. I like Ficelle Bakery too but they're known for their baguettes and only sell almond croissants and not individual macarons. I have yet to try zak the baker and paolo but will try their almond croissants next.

Yelp
What a warm welcome from the staff every single time I am here. The best bakery and adorable collection of wines. The entire staff is so hospitable and friendly. I highly recommend this place for everyone. From business lunches to girls brunch on weekends.

Yelp
Best almond croissants in Brickell. They are HUGE and they do not skimp on the filling. This is my favorite spot for a pastry treat. They have a nice outdoor seating area. Staff is always friendly.

Sophia R.

Yelp
Very good french spot. They have a few locations around Miami, but I do have to say I prefer the South Miami location over Brickell. If you are looking for delcious macaroons and French sandwiches, dont hesitate to make a stop here. All their desserts are fabulous too!
google avatar

Frederic B.

Yelp
Very disappointing "French" bakery. Nothing fresh ( besides coming out from a fridge). Macaron was dehydrated as well as ganache filling : certainly 2-3weeks old(?). Canelé is mushy, missing the outer crunchy caramel layer. May need to verify the freshness of the items they sell

Yelp
The croissants here are TOO DIE FOR! So flaky yet so pillowy at the same time. Put a little bit of butter and jam on them and mwah, chefs kiss. The quiche's crust was also extremely flaky and delicious. As for the inside of the quiche, it was just okay I wish there was a bit more flavor. If I was to go next time I would get the quiche with the tomato instead! The service here was just alright, not bad not excellent. But the pricing was extremely good & affordable! Definitely a go to spot for a quick cafe bite or brunch.

Yelp
Love the food but service is honestly so important. I won't be coming back as the young man taking my order was disrespectful and rude. Honestly ruins the ambiance of the place. I will be telling all my colleagues to go over to Granier Bakery. I would love to go back to the store and let management know who is ruining buisness for them.
google avatar

Yelp
Service is spotty. Food is mediocre. The biggest thing going for this place is the ample outdoor seating.

Yelp
We are working on the same building and have lunch very often here but recently the personal ( service table) became very loose ( forgetting things and need to wait long time) whereas the ladies are very fast and always pay attention for our requests. We hope that the owner can read it and instruct the men personnel who servicing the tables to listen the customers. Thank you
google avatar

Sejal M.

Yelp
A great spot for a quick bite. Ordered the eggs Benedict and it truly hit the spot. Super savory and satisfying. Tasted very fresh, didn't disappoint at all. The coffee here is also a must try.

Yelp
We like having a little bit of true Europe in Brickell. This French deli has a great wine and dessert selection that is true to its French nature. We have ordered the tomato and mozzarella sandwich a few times which was underwhelming and to the point. A good place to sit outside and away from the Brickell hustle.

Yelp
MY NEW FAVORITE BRUNCH PLACE IN BRICKELL!! I loved this place. Starting out with how thin and fluffy their crepes were omg omg omg!!! We ordered some crepes and then the madame croqutte which was also DELICIOUS!! Can't wait to come back to try more of their menu
google avatar

Yelp
Love this little hidden gem in the middle of Brickell. My husband and I come here for breakfast often and always love everything single item we order. Our new favorite is the chocolate almond croissant. The staff is friendly ane very helpful. They have happy hour and brunch options too. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Just got to Miami and found this lovely cafe on yelp and I was extremely surprised to find out what a treasure this place was. Sweet staff and a huge selection of just about everything in a bakery. The HAM AND CHEESE Croissant was to die for. I will definitely make this a usual on my Miami cafe list.

Yelp
I bought the gluten free cake with three kinds of chocolate. It's incredible. Without exaggeration, it's probably the best tasting cake I've ever had anywhere in the world.

Diana E.

Yelp
Ok so the macaroons are great however the chicken avocado was a bit tough cold even though it was toasted and dry, The mango smoothie as well as the passionfruit was very low on sugar and overfilled when i tried poking the straw it spilled over my hands and table not pleasant at all. Ambient is good and customer service was great. I have not taste the rest of the menu so cant attest. Overall not recommended. Slight pass

Yelp
Updated menu July 2022. Great little spot for breakfast. With a good selection of wine.

Yelp
Brunch is bad. The place is good for lunch. I went to brunch because I saw their huge ad inside that says "bottomless mimosas $15", but is not true. I asked for the special for brunch and the waitress did not know what I was talking about. She went inside and told me that only 3 mimosas were included in the deal, which is fine, but do not put bottomless when it is not. Disappointing brunch. Good place to have lunch.
google avatar

Erica A.

Yelp
Loved this hidden gem. The servers have great hospitality. They will help you navigate the menu to get the most bang for your buck. I had the bottomless mimosas, prosciutto sandwich, fried egg with toast on the side, and an iced caramel latte for around $45. Not bad You seat yourself, there is not a designated parking area. If you pass the bank to the left of the restaurant and make a right there is an affordable all day parking for $8.
google avatar

Rosaly G.

Yelp
Mocha was mediocre at best. I was expecting more, but was disappointed. The desserts on the other hand looked really good. Will have to try them another day.
google avatar

Patricia M.

Yelp
Service was fantastic! Helpful employee helped me pick the perfect cake to buy for a very special invitation I had. Pricey, but worth it. I can't say much about ambiance since I made my purchase and left. I did see lots of table outside and a few inside.

Mike T.

Yelp
Gross cheap roach motel . Worst experience at a restaurant I've ever been to in Miami. This is nothing compared to to Europe or Paris worst imitation cheap and everything expensive hard bread the young lady that looks like a leprechaun doesn't even speak good English claim to be the manager but I guess the manager of roaches seriously don't waste your time

Yelp
My family and I are foodies and we were looking for plce with almond crossaints and this place popped up... got up went on a saturday with the fam and it was a little hard to find the place because its in a building ... fyi you have to go around to the back for parking (no charge) .. it was outside seating and inside .. also its like a little market and bakery too we had the almond crossaint and it was good ... my hubbs had a eggs benedict but ok not so good ... chicolate crossaint was good Bacon was banging though... service was ok but the place is little....

Sarah S.

Yelp
The croissants were soft and flakey- so delicious! There is some seating inside and plenty of spaces to eat outside. Staff was very kind. Would definitely come back!
google avatar

Misha P.

Yelp
Pretty dicey looking on the inside, croissants were good, quiche was OK since the bottom was soggy and ham/ filling was of the lower quality. Coffee was decent.
google avatar

Naomi K.

Yelp
Nice space near offices with a big outside eating area which is convenient for covid. Big wine selection and desserts. Just got food to go but they were helpful and quick. Tried the hazelnut Napoleon and the fruit tart. The latter was decent but underwhelming. The crust and cream were not especially flavorful. The fruit was decent. The Napoleon was definitely worthy of a repeat. It had a lovely chocolate layer with a special crunchy texture. Both were excellent in presentation. They were put inside a pastry box but no utensils or napkins so the assumption was it had to be consumed where all that was available. (I did no specifically ask for either so it may have been provided only upon request). Iced americano was delicious. You know the coffee is decent when you don't have to add anything. Parking is tricky. Not sure where there is anything convenient since it was a busy street and no street parking directly in front.

Yelp
Great location, great service but the food is below average. I have went to Atelier a few times in the last month and the chef keeps forgetting to add tomato & mix greens to my Chicken BLT. I literally received bread, chicken and bacon each time. The waiter, who is super nice, has to always go back to the kitchen to complain. I probably wont be go back anytime soon.

Yelp
I went on a Thursday afternoon to this bistro after I found out they had Belgian people gathering to watch the World Cup soccer game against England. If it wasn't for this, I wouldn't have known about this cute place. Another friend joined me later and she also had never seen it even she used to live in the building across the street! It is a hidden gem behind first bank. There's outdoor seating with umbrellas and a tv screen outside! Inside is a gorgeous French bakery. The display of desserts and long counter is fabulous. The bottles of wine and gadgets are cute. Interior is 5 stars! I arrived at 2.15pm and the owner arranged immediately seats for me with the Belgian group, very friendly man. I had to pull out my best French as he assumed I was still fluent lol (I'm Flemish and was bilingual at 18 but it only gone wrong since hehe). Props to the owner for being so hospitable! Also the staff was all friendly, assisting and great. I ordered the fresh squeezed orange juice. You can tell it was fresh as it wasn't cold, it was from room temperature oranges. It didn't bother me as it actually reminds me of when my parents did it for me in Sunday's from the oranges in the kitchen table tray. I asked a glass of cold water too. I wanted to order the lunch combo but (even this early!) they ran out of both soup as tartines! I was truly disappointed also for the time being much time. I guess they didn't expect so many people that day! I ordered the quinoa salad and my friend the salmon salad. I picked out 2 macaroons : rose petal and passion fruit. They were ok. I also got an almond croissant to go. The quinoa salad was perfect size. It looks small but I was full. Same as my friends salmon salad. It's surprising it's not a salad with lettuce, but she was happy about that as she's on a diet and liked it was all protein plus with the dill it was delicious. The croissant I did not like personally. I ate it few hours later and it was just too dry and sweet for me. And I was lacking more frangipane inside. Overall experience was great. Would come back to try out more!
google avatar

Felicia L.

Yelp
Came here strictly for the large almond croissants. Worth it. Cafe is cute and there are a bunch of tables outside. It wasn't super busy when I stopped by at 8am but know their croissants do sell out.
google avatar

Ivonne D.

Yelp
Ehhhh.... Food isn't bad, but ridiculously expensive. $15 for 2 plain scrambled eggs, a piece of baguette, and a coffee ??? No thanks. I will say their ham and cheese croissants are pretty amazing. Service can be better, I felt I had to keep chasing our waiter down. They also have a large wine selection if you're looking to buy a bottle.

Melissa R.

Yelp
I've come here for years. Privately owned. Always friendly and attentive. Excellent pastry bakery. Good breakfast selection. Indoor & Outdoor seating. Breakfast/brunch is relaxing here- never feels like weekend brunch madness, you aren't spending your time standing waiting for a table, and you get to start your day with a relaxation and enjoyment of your company.
google avatar

Yelp
I have been here a couple of times and this definitely one of my favorite places to come for a casual breakfast or afternoon snack spot. I have come both just to eat or join their Thursdays food and wine pairing, which I highly recommend (check groupon, sometimes they have coupons). Here is the breakdown: Food: They have some great selection in their sandwiches with the prosciutto with pesto and tomato being my favorite. Simply divine. The ham and cheese croissant is a must for me as well. Now for the highlight, the bottles are very affordable so make sure to always go for bottle or bottles Service: Definitely could use some improvement especially during the weekend brunch hours. Polite and friendly but if you are going for fast service, this is not the place. Decor/ ambiance Nice casual bakery to come in and have a good time. Wow factor Truly the pastries and the food are a big win here. Overall Highly recommend and always come back.

Sarah a.

Yelp
Okay I've tried to give this spot multiple chances now and the food consistently disappoints. Bread is hard as rocks and overall food just tastes like it's 3 days old. Croissant and coffee are decent and location/outdoor seating is great but I won't be back.

Dang L.

Yelp
The worst-tasting almond chocolate croissant we ever had. Must be a day old, asked for it to be toasted and it was served cold so sent it back for toasting. Weak cappucinos, paid for xtra shot for large cappucino in mug but may not have gotten it. Will not return.
google avatar

Fabiola F.

Yelp
Was a big fan of this place but went there and service sucked if I was asking them to give me stuff for free. Coffee cold. Desserts not as fresh as usual. Mmm not sure if I would recommend it but maybe I went a bad day. Their desserts used to be very good.
google avatar

Savahnah P.

Yelp
The crepes were good, the lattes were decent and the service was fast! My only real complaint is that there's not much inside seating and they only offer crepes/brunch on the weekends.
google avatar

Yehoshua B.

Yelp
Great service and delicious pastries, Excellent place for lunch! From sandwiches, going through other elaborated dishes and deserts, this is a really good place for French food. They also sell and have very good wines.

Kiana M.

Yelp
I had a terrible experience. I come once a week for the delicious almond croissants. Yesterday I came to have a coffee and breakfast. I sat down and was then told by waiter named Juan to move to a different table (he very rudely told me to move). when I finished my phone call, I got up to move but someone else had sat in the table. I told the waiter and his response was "you took too long" in such a rude tone. I asked him to get the manager and his response was "NO I AM BUSY". To be treated with such disrespect and as a customer was so awful. I was crying from the shock of being spoken to and treated this way by the waiter. I kept asking another waitress for the manager and she kept saying he is coming but no one came. I walked up and waited and finally spoke to some other guy who may or may not have been the manager. He was hesitant to assist me and give me the name of the waiter who was rude to me. He then told me that Juan was the name of the waiter and that he told him that I was lying and that what I am saying is not true. I asked for the owner and he pointed to the owner. i waited and waited until she could speak to me and told her what happened. This was such a denegrading experience being treated so terribly as a customer who supports the store and told everyone how good the croissants were . All i wanted was to enjoy a coffee and breakfast.

Yelp
If you're in the area and reading this, just head over to Atelier Monnier! Don't bother hesitating or wondering how great it will be, because simply put - IT'S AWESOME! So during a solo trip to Miami, I needed breakfast. It was my last day in town and I really wanted a delicious breakfast to end my trip. I search on Yelp which suggested Atelier Monnier. It was a short walking distance from my place and very easy to find. Upon walking in, I was greeted by the staff and given a table to sit at. The place is relatively small (hence it is a cafe) however, there is ample seating outside. Inside, you will find that the space is not just a local cafe, it is a bakery and wine boutique, all-in-one. I'm not sure if the staff were French but they definitely have some sort of European accent. With all of that said, I got the feeling that this was an authentic European cafe which was great. After being seated, I took a look at the menu which featured a variety of brunch classics like eggs, quiches, sandwiches, and french toast. French toast seemed to be the most raved about on Yelp, so I ordered it with a side of bacon and fresh squeezed orange juice. Also, thanks to the awesomeness of the Yelp app, I got a free glass of wine for checking in. Within about 10 minutes max, my meal was brought to my table. It was plated very well. The french toast was probably the best I've ever had (seriously). The french toast was served with fresh berried and sprinkled with powdered sugar. It was made exactly how I like and I didn't even ask. The edges were crisp while it's interior was pillow soft. It had just the right touch of sweetness with a hint of vanilla. To top it off, I was given regular maple syrup and strawberry syrup; both of which complimented the french toast well. The bacon was fried well and the orange juice really was fresh squeezed. This was an amazing meal that really and truly topped off my trip. I did not like the dress glass of wine I received, it was white but pretty dry. I prefer very light, sweet white wines like moscato. Service was great as well. The staff were attentive and kind, while service was timely. No issues. Overall, I highly recommend Atelier and will return as well as recommend to others. P.S. Once your done eating, be sure to check out the selection of wine and bakery treats. They've got everything from red wine and champagne, to macaroons, napolean, and even gelato. Amazing!

Yelp
Worst customer service ever.... Walked in asking about pastries and stated to the girl at the front i had a bit allergy and she looked at me unresponsive and never responded to me. I stated do your pastries have nuts and again another death stare with another go worker saying "don't bother her" i said excuse me, he repeated. I asked do any of these have nuts and they said they're all made with almond butter. Would anyone think that's a NUT in this country? Absolutely! After picking out a pastry and about to pay they finally let me know this. Total health risk! It's incredible how either A. People treat people in a restaurant but B. To not be educated on allergies, and your food is another. You could send someone to the hospital or kill someone with that kind of approach. If a kid has a nut allergy and the workers can't self identify effectively which has or has not nuts in it and communicate that properly that kid may eat it and get hurt. Needless to say the service here and communication was rude and unskilled.

Yelp
Very nice French bakery in Brickell. Absolutely enjoyed their desserts! Taste very fresh and so pretty!

Yelp
Best Ribeye I have had in a long time! The Chimmey Churri sauce really made it... Friendly service and nice atmosphere
google avatar

Yelp
Meh... pretty disappointing tuna sandwich. No lettuce nor tomato but on the plus side, interesting addition of grapes! The tuna wasn't bad but a bit schizophrenic. It had red peppers, onions, black olives, celery & grapes. A bit odd but still tasty. Needed salt & pepper & the aforementioned Tomato & Lettuce. At least my Pistachio Macaron was good.

Yelp
Love their product - best French pastries and cakes in South Florida.
