It was obvious they get a lot of business based on the reviews. It was a whim, so we drove up to this shop to treat my grandma for a pedicure; keep in mind, she's using an oxygen tank. When we walked in, it was busy so I asked if it was at all possible or if we should go elsewhere; we didn't want to overburden the place. They said we'd have to wait 30 minutes, which seemed reasonable so we sat on the couch and waited. 45 minutes later, we were still waiting so I asked for a status since someone who walked in without an appointment was seated and serviced before my grandmother. They said she would be attended shortly, so we waited. An little over an hour later, she still was not seated for her pedicure, we had to change out her oxygen tank, so we were on very limited time. I asked again, and at an hour an a half mark, she was seated and they started her pedicure. An older man, maybe the owner or manager, made snarky remarks and was combative in his language with me about the situation. He was not apologetic about the wait time and my grandmother's condition. This really soured the situation because his aggressive response was unnecessary, especially because he told us 30 minutes at first, and they failed to check in with us, and acted like we were bothering them for asking for an update. The nail tech had to be reminded to cut and file nails down; the nail tech seemed to be doing the bare minimum and we were paying for one of the spa treatments. By the end of it, she did a great job and my grandma was happy with her toes. I wish they had been more upfront at the beginning, especially since they could obviously see my grandmother was using an oxygen tank, which should have been factored in. They could have told us no, and that would have been a perfectly valid answer; for us, our concern was making sure she was seen in a timely manner. Needless to say, in the future, I will make an appointment wherever I go, but wanted to share with the community for transparency. They owner/manager was unnecessarily aggressive and unapologetic. Terrible experience and it didn't have to be. Hopefully they treat the elderly especially and the rest of their customers better; we are paying and tipping well, we are not asking for free things.
