Secret Caesar Salad History: 100 Years Later | Eater San Diego

"Even room service at the InterContinental Athénée Palace in Bucharest features the Caesar salad, a reminder of how widely the dish has spread from its Tijuana roots." - Bill Esparza

Noticed a significant change in service quality after the shift from Hilton to IHG. Felt like no one was or is interested in helping the guests, such as baggage, breakfast, or even answering a simple question. I hope this is just a transition learning and gets better to how it used to be back in Hilton days.

The hotel is wonderful. Great location near the Atheneum and Calea Victoriei, nice rooms and very good breakfast (I recommend the omelette made by the chef).

A perfect stay. But for one detail. Spa swimming pool and gym under “refined renovation” meaning completely closed. Alternative to use Sheratons spa but nonetheless NOT obvious when booking the room. Food excellent service as well

I have stayed in this hotel for a short turnaround and will definitely come back for a longer getaway to enjoy and relax in the hotel as well as the nice historical area where it’s located. I was taken care of by a very professional and pleasant Guest relations Manager Serena. She made my stay memorable with her personalized approach and attention to details for her customers. I received valuable recommendations on hotel and city as well as heartwarming hotel souvenir, friendly conversations and professional assistance. Thank you very much and I appreciate such customizable treatment.

Great location, beautiful hotel, the restaurant staff is lovely, the breakfast options are amazing & loved waking up every morning just to go there. Plus, pets are allowed which was great! The laundry & ironing service is way too expensive for what it is & the 1000 RON that you are obliged to deposit when you check in in case you use any service not included in your reservation was unexpected & not communicated beforehand. However, we actually booked a room for this hotel to go to their New Years event which was so lackluster. The food menu was good, but only 2 champagne glasses included for 1000RON per person is just so disappointing & cheap, plus if we needed other alcoholic drinks we had to pay an extra fee for the bar. Besides the fact that our table was behind the room's supporting pillars & the acoustics of the restaurant made it feel like we were excluded from the event. It was basically like a wedding where nobody knew each other, with some random singer singing covers of classic wedding songs. Very boring. The most disappointing moment was when the clock struck 12AM & there were no fireworks. Nothing. How is that possible? We were so disappointed that we went directly to our room & enjoyed our own bought champagne on the balcony instead of wasting our time. One of the most beautiful hotels in Bucharest but lackluster services (strictly the services we have used).

Review based on one visit. The InterContiBucharest is a prime accommodation in the city center, ideal for both business travelers and families due to its proximity to major attractions and public transportation. Recent renovations have given the hotel a modern and luxurious ambiance while retaining its classic charm. The guest rooms feature modern amenities, plush furnishings, and stunning views of Bucharest. The hotel offers a variety of dining options, wellness facilities, and excellent service, making it a top choice for luxury accommodation in Bucharest. Highly recommended!

Follow us on Instagram if you Love to Travel & Relish Good Food. We are Dubais Travel & Food Influencers : @vibrant_wanderer_rhythm Greeting was beyond expectations, Serena welcomed us with our first name, inducing a warm welcome. Much compliments to the staff for going the extra mile in all ways and luck for future. We stayed here for 4 nights. Centrally located . Beautifully done interior. Executive lounge experience elevated due to the service provided by Catalin. He is another staff who went above and beyond and made our stay memorable. Housekeeping needs to gear up, the experience with them was unpleasant. Room wasn’t fully serviced every day, with dirty ends left. Amenities not replenished on daily basis and had to request for them. One one of the days the dirty dishes remained outside our room for 1 whole day till late night, till I contacted room service and asked them to get it removed. The room temperature was at 25• which was cold for us , however team helped with an additional heater. If executive lounge was not part of our experience and Serena’s service , we would have marked the hotel at a 3/5 . Florin at the executive lounge is also hospitable. Watch out for Detailed review & itinerary on our insta page Happy traveling

The plus : Rooms are great and spacious. Hotel location is ideal and the view from the windows is very nice and enjoyable . Bedding is great. Facilities look very nice ( even though I didn't try everything ) . The minus : staff is not very friendly. Rolling their eye when I ask them to repeat direction and telling me " this is what I just explained to you" while looking annoyed . Great to have a welcome card in the the room but if you do that at least address it to the correct name! Limited amenities in the bathroom just a general dispenser. Not what I would have expected from a palace standard .
