Ordered the Greek Chicken Pita Sandwich extra protein and a salad. It was good I liked it. Salad was crunchy and fresh no brown spots at all.

Let me just say this; as a person who loves Mediterranean food this place was absolutely delish!!!! I was pleasantly surprised but my taste buds were enjoying every second of this place. Def will pass on ordering chipotle every night and come get my fix here! Sooooooo gooood!

I went in at lunch and they forgot about my order. I ordered a chicken kabob plate. The rice was oily, the chicken was okay and I did like that there were some veggies in between the chicken pieces but none of it was great. I spent my whole lunch waiting for my food.

They have expanded their menu since the last time I was there and their prices are really good for the amount of food. Cooked good and fries can't be beat.

The Greek food here is not good; the chicken and the gyros are not at all on par with expectations. Fries are okay, but not enough to save the experience from being lackluster. Tried three times and very little evolution here, time for a makeover. Get real gyros and do better with the chicken! Until then, I’ll pass. Nice staff though.

Today, my sister came here after 31 years, she says it’s still the Best burger in the world. We hope to support Athenian Grill for many more. Thank you.

It was my first time visiting this restaurant. The staff were nice, but I personally felt the taste of the food wasn’t too good for me. Inside of restaurant is clean but not modern.

One of the best Greek Salads I've ever had The chicken is fresh, the veggies are fresh and it's perfect every time! I don't recall ever having a bad experience out of 100+ times I've ordered from here Great service and great staff! Atmosphere is also stellar, 5/5 Stars easy

WOW!! Food was amazing and so was the service. Upset I haven't found this place sooner!! I found my new place for great food and deals. Ambiance was very sweet as well, love how it was decorated with Greek embellishments. Hidden Gem!!

An average size restaurant on Reseda Bl with private parking in the rear. Dining is available inside, usually quite. No TVs. I have always received great customer service and good food. It's roughly inexpensive compared to some other locations. I usually come here for their "Famous 4-Pack Special" (4 Burgers/4 Small Fries/ & 4 Small Drinks) with cheese (extra) for under 30.00 bucks. The burgers are a decent size burger. This deal is only available on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays only. I mean you could get the same package on the other days, but increase price. I don't remember how much more, but not crazy either.

Our adult children go to school in Santa Clarita and Malibu and we were looking for a place to meet up for dinner that is about half way between the two. We enjoy middle eastern and Mediterranean food and after looking at reviews of restaurants in the Canoga Park area we landed on Athenian Grill based on their reviews and the price point. It did not disappoint! We ordered the kabob dinner for four, with two chicken and two beef kababs. The food was excellent, very tasty and generous portions. While the ambiance was a bit dated and could use a refresh, that did not detract from our experience. The atmosphere seems more like a fast food restaurant, but the experience was anything but. You can tell that the food is made fresh on site and is prepared with care. Juanita as managing the counter and she was so friendly and helpful. We would definitely come back again.

10/10 on price, vibe, and authentic feel. Will return and will tell my future children of this legendary location. Real ones know and if you don't, ask yourself if you are a real one.

One Breakfast Burrito with 1 Item $10 The green salsa is so so yummy, and the breakfast burrito was also a very yummy. Been struggling to find a solid simple yummy breakfast burrito here in the valley and have now found my new spot. Would 100% buy again!

The first time I was here was two years ago, now I come back at every opportunity. I love the Greek salad with chicken. They also have very tasty burgers, I really recommend this place! The staff is very helpful and pleasant, good service

Had high hopes for this spot. I got the kabob plate with chicken and beef, with a side of hummus. Unfortunately was let down, the hummus was runny and kind of bland not sure if it's made there or they buy it made. The rice tasted good but wasn't authentic Mediterranean, tasted like the kind you'd eat at a Hispanic restaurant, the beef kabob was horrible, tasted bland and the texture seemed like frozen meat, the chicken kabob however was super good, perfect texture and the flavor was amazing. As far as the locale itself, I thought it was nice and the people were friendly as well, place was clean.

Food is good, breakfast are burritos big enough to share. The service is good & fast. We've used them for DoorDash & over the phone orders. Never had a mishap. We sat down once for a quick lunch & it was your typical burger joint type of vibe. The food was good the place was neat but nothing esthetically pleasing. Which is a plus because you know they only care about the food.

Great chicken kebab, so delicious and the rice and naan are excellent as well. We always order delivery from here and it's always a fast service.

Not the best Greek bites. I like mine with generous meat servings, and some decent sides. So while they are flavorful, the overall plate or sandwich is probably a fair 6/10 on the satisfaction scale. We had both the lamb and chicken, but neither of us were ecstatic. However, the burgers were a surprise hit. I went with 3 of my kids, who are the de facto family burger connoisseurs, with very individual preferences (one likes grilled onions, nothing else, two of them hate tomatoes, one hates lettuce, etc, etc). The great thing is that each of them was more than satisfied, and have regularly requested return visits. Highly recommend for the burgers and value prices.

Great and fresh tasting Mediterranean food. My favorite is their sauce. I put it on everything. I always get their kabobs. They are now offering Mexican food, daily specials, family packs and catering. I haven't been here since before the pandemic so the add ins are a pleasant surprise. Prizes are very compatible and plenty of parking and tables inside.

They make the best fried zucchini! Their hot sandwiches and burgers are yum. Love this place, I wish I lived closer.

The people are nice here. The food is okay...not too many veggie options . This place is very old and not well maintained. They do have an A on the window tho. PROBLEM IS ITS STEAMY HOT IN HERE. It's a simple fix and small investment that you'd expect a business owner to put. I almost gave a 3 ....

The burger and fries were decent the falafel plate and beef kabobs were terrible. Meat was over cooked and the falafel was stale. Prices are decent but I won't go back the taste or flavor wasn't good

Pretty good tasty cuisine and good overall service... Parking is simple considering this is not a busy part of the valley so parking is usually easy to find. Zucchini needed a little more but its fantastic.

They made a great breakfast for thirty men today. The portions were big, the food was good and they were friendly and on time.

Wow...used to eat here alot ,but I would be broke to eat here now..if I was to spend 20$ for a sandwich,I'd go to a nice place,sit down ,and enjoy getting screwwed.this is fast food people!!! Why so damn expensive????

Super friendly, Food was delicious. We used to go to Henry's at Victory and Woodley for Gyros and Souvlaki and we're really sad when it closed. There was a only one other place around that we knew about (not naming names) that served Greek Food and definitely not as good. Imagine our surprise to find this place. It's only been there for 40 years!! Gyros were better than Henry's. Can't wait to try more from the menu. So happy to have found them.

I gave this a 5 star review because they have one of the best breakfast burritos in town. I always get the bacon and sausage with avocado with the hot sauce. It's more of a tangy sauce but adds to the flavor.

Went on a recommendation for breakfast burrito, it was great! Don't usually eat but this one has made me a fan. Keep up the great work!

Got limp fries, an overpriced can of COKE as their fountain drinks filtration tastes unchanged in years, and a Turkey Club sandwich that has avocado in it, a no-no for dialysis patients. Even Google disagrees with these idiots as to what goes in a Turkey Club. Oh well, 35 pls years as a customer comes to an end.

Came in and ordered the chicken and lamb kabobs plate, the lamb kabobs were very miserable in the portions served. They used to be very generous with the servings, for the price you pay it's not comparably fair. Everything else service wise excellent. The girl at the counter has a great and bubbly disposition. That's what made the rest ok. Probably won't order the lamb kabob plate anymore though. Everything else on our meals was great. Thank you!

This place was recommended when I was stuck down in the Valley for about an hour with an empty stomach while getting a hitch installed a few blocks away. This is your typical Greek/American style grill diner with a huge menu offering breakfast classics, lunch and dinner entrees. There is something fried for everyone from burgers, fries, chicken, ect. There are a few healthy options like salads, gyros, ect. I went with a bacon omlette and sourdough toast for breakfast. The hashbrowns were just okay. But, I usually don't eat a lot of potatoes/carbs to begin with. I probally should of ordered a gyro instead. To me the food was just okay. Nothing really stood out to me, exept for the bacon. The pancake deal with meats was just okay to the Mister. I take that back, everything but the pancakes were okay. Why are pancakes to difficult? Service was friendly. The place is clean. Definitely a locals place that cater towards people who know what to order. So Im giving it a A-okay.

I just tried this place for the first time. The BURGERS came highly recommended, and so did the BREAKFAST BURRITOS, so we decided to try both. We also got some CHILI CHEESE FRIES. Someone recommend the RANCH, so we got a couple sides of that, and also a side of THOUSAND ISLAND dressing (I always get ranch & thousand w/ a burger anyway). Here's what we both thought: :---DOUBLE CHEESEBURGER---: Really good, but I'll probably just get a single next time. :---BREAKFAST BURRITO---: It had undercooked bacon in it. Gross!!! I also wished it had more cheese. In some of the Yelp pics, they sure looked cheesier than mine was. It still would have been a really good burrito if the bacon wasn't so chewy. We ended up picking the bacon out, or there's no way we would've finished the burrito. The green salsa was also really good! :---CHILI CHEESE FRIES---: Fabulous! Super cheesy. I highly recommend! Yummm!! :---RANCH---: Pretty good, but I prefer a buttermilk-style ranch. I think they might use some yogurt in their ranch or something. It's different, and it's good, but it's just not my fav. :---THOUSAND ISLAND---: Deeeeeelish! Forget the ranch. I'll just get extra Thousand next time. To be honest, I'm not sure I'll give this place a try again. The raw-ish, chewy bacon really grossed me out! Everything else was pretty good, but to be honest, I'd prefer a burger from The Habit, over this one, any day.

Order beef kebab at your own risk! The texture was dry and almost powdery. Zero flavor. Chicken kebab was fine. Rice and fries were good. Generous sides of tzatziki and dressing were provided with takeout order. Fries had a good crisp to it.

Ordered 2 burgers via Grubhub. When you buy the combo, it prompts you to select two sides and a drink. Yet for some unfathomable reason, the restaurant only gives you your first choice. I tried calling the restaurant and was told they have known about the problem "for awhile" but it wasn't their responsibility. They also said they were too busy to call customers to let them know. Basically I was told it's not their problem, sucks to suck. Thankfully Grubhub refunded the order.

Kinda dumpy place with super-friendly people and good food. I had a Greek salad that came with a side of pita bread and cucumber in Greek yogurt. Refreshing and tasty.

I've had the best gyros here! Their chili cheese fries and cheeseburgers are to die for and they deliver! What more can you ask for? They have meal deals on certain days that can feed a family They have private parking in the back, but be careful because there is only one way to get in and out. They have indoor seating. And it gets really busy sometimes during lunch. The staff is ever-changing but they've all been friendly. Their food is affordable and delicious. Definitely recommend this place. This place has been around forever and I hope it continues to stay around because this is my go to for gyros!

Ive been going here for years. Mostly for their Burgers. They're always fresh and even if an order is incorrect, as any human error can happen in any establishment, they will correct it for you without question. The women that answer the phone are always patient and courteous. Support your local businesses!

This place has been around for years! Love love love. Amazing breakfast burritos. The onions rings are always crunchy.... Even when we ordered for delivery! Staff is always super friendly. Tons of options depending on what you may be craving at the moment.

Ordered a pastrami sandwich today using DoorDash... it was the saddest pastrami saandwich I've ever Had. Won't order it again :-/ it was all bread, pickles and mustard

I've been to this place a couple times before for breakfast. I guess breakfast is pretty difficult to mess up. I decided to have the Greek salad today and I wanted to add gyro meat to it. I realized they don't have this as an option, instead they told me I had to order the gyro plate which of course was several dollars more because it's usually served for dinner. So I went ahead and ordered it and I cannot believe what I ended up with... not only was it not gyro meat NOT from a spit, like I'm used to but it was processed, not even real meat, in the shape of a long rectangle. Absolutely disgusting, I had to return it, I'm shocked that this is what they offer at an authentic looking Greek restaurant. Definitely not appetizing. The staff was friendly, I give them that.

I'm blown away. Last night, me, my sister and her bf decided to get some dinner before I leave. We wanted to spend cheap but eat something that'll keep us satisfied. They kept raving about Athenian and how good their food was. They told me Athenian wouldn't disappoint and that their portions are generous and will be sure to keep me full. I was curious at first because it seemed as if their burgers and fries were popular. Because this was a Greek joint, I was wondering why the talk of their gyros wasn't as popular? Well I was wrong.. I ordered the double bacon cheeseburger for about $7 and their Lg. Fries with a custom order of feta cheese melted on top; Greek style. They really take their time here cooking up from scratch. Once my meal arrived I was stunned. Everything looked on point as far as portion and the looks of everything. The burger was stacked with well grilled meat and fresh toppings inside. I knew it was great when I had to spread my palms open for this burger. Yes indeed this was worth it. The fries were steak cut size with melted feta on top. They serve a generous portion that will keep you full for sure. Since I had it custom made, it was $4 for it rather than $2.50. This is one of the best places to go if you're looking for a cheap bite but made fresh from scratch. The ingredients are fresh and the portions are on point. UPDATE!!! UPDATE!!! UPDATE!!! UPDATE!!! After searching out a new Greek Spot everything was great in the world again... that is until in abruptly closed without notice. I was once again at a lose for a place to get the perfect chicken gyro & I was jonesing hard!!! I couldn't hold out any longer so I swung by Athenian Grill!!! I found out the girl I had the argument with got fired so I had my usual... the same AMAZING Chicken Gyro I've ordered there for 20+ years... It's good to be back home

This food is BOMB! Chicken Kabob plate is sooo good! Their salad is my favorite salad ever!! Rice is delicious too! Definitely my go to for a great lunch/dinner

Fresh peppers! Fresh onions! An amazing kabob at an extremely great price and a truly fresh tasting salad. I don't live in the area but whilst getting my car fixed in the area, I had to come try this local phenomenon. Their rice was so fluffy. It was such a great experience and I'm grateful i didn't deny myself the opportunity of coming here to try this great tasting meal. Thank you so much!

One of the best breakfast burritos, if not the best ! I get the one with no meat and avocado instead. It has eggs, hashbrowns and avocado and green salsa on the side. Its super simple, but delish. What makes it, is the potato is soft but has crunchy bits, too. Yum!

Athenian grill has so many options on the menu. I haven't tried everything but so far what I've tried is good. Not only is the food good but Gloria gives amazing customer service.

Have not eaten Greek food for a while this place came to mind. I don't care what place looks like. It doesn't look like a upscale restaurant but food is really good. We ordered 3 dishes and I could barely finish one. All came out $28 including tax. The same thing on a BLVD would cost 1.5x as much. I came here before and will continue to come.

Every time I come I try something different. My favorite is the hamburger with feta cheese on it, cheese fries, and baklava. The food is fresh and has a homemade taste to it. The staff is wonderful. I highly recommend going for breakfast lunch or dinner.

I've been going to Athenian grill for a very long time and never had complaints. Usually I get the cheeseburger combo or the breakfast burrito. Both come with lots of fries that are real good and plenty full. For some reason the past few times I've gone the breakfast burritos haven't tasted the same and I've actually had to throw a whole burrito away because the taste was so off. Not sure if it was the cheese or the avocado or maybe a new chef in the kitchen but whatever it is it needs to change because I'm ready to retire this place.

I've been going to this place for years. I only go for the burgers but have had the Gyro on occasion. Burgers are good and love that they give you ranch and chilies on the side. Not sure why they give you a super large drink when they should charge extra for that. I never finish the drink and have in the past asked for the smaller size. Gyro is good but not the best I had. The staff is awesome but seems like they have a lot of turnover at this place. It sucks because you like how one treats you and makes you comfortable with going back. Then when you do is someone totally different. The place is in need of a remodeling. Kinda old and that paint color drives me crazy. Also, don't call it a Mediterranean place. I'm sure you still more burgers than Gyros and should call it a burger joint. Just my opinion. Overall I love this place and will still continue to oder a burger and fries.
