The olive ciabatta is fantastic! Every type of foccacia I've tried there has been amazing. So soft and flavorful, even the plain. Price wise it can't be beat for freshly baked items using high quality ingredients. The mini ciabatta loaves are $2 and the foccacia slices are $3-$4. They could easily charge more and it'd still be worth it! Be sure to get there early, there have been days where they were nearly sold out within an hour! People line up before they even open, which is a pretty good sign of how good it is.

The food was good and the location is amazing. My only issue the lack of service, which is extremely inconvenient for large groups or families with kids. Yes, the food was brought to the table (thank goodness), but we had to order at the cashier (not a big deal) but then we had to bus our own plates. I had to clean each plate for a family of four, and then separate and stack the plates, mugs and silverware… after leaving a 22% tip. Will definitely go back but will not be leaving anymore tips so that I can be a server in a restaurant.

The healthy (and non healthy) choices are wonderful. Great quality and fun little aesthetic.

We stopped on a whim after driving by. SO glad we did! I bought a loaf of the whole wheat, and we both agree it is the best bread we've ever had. Will be making many more drives down (we are 2 hours away) just to visit this gem of a bakery! Thank you!

If you want the best breads in Athens, go here! I love their Olive Ciabatta so much! I use it for avocado toast 🤤 The sourdough makes excellent paninis and it's hard to go wrong with any of their pastries. I highly recommend the Pan au Chocolate!

So unbelievably happy we stopped into this bakery on our recent trip through Ohio! Don't let the size of their shop fool you-- The footprint may be small but their huge selection of breads, pastries, and panini sandwiches is exactly what you'd want from a place like this. We needed lunch, and after talking to who I believe is Tim, the head baker, my hubby and I took his recommendations and couldn't have been happier. My husband's name is Kevin, so he ordered "The Kevin," which is turkey, cheddar, house-made coleslaw, and pickles. He DEVOURED it! Then wanted another! I ordered "The Laurie," which is roasted beets, Laurel Valley cloverton cheese, black pepper, arugula, and a balsamic drizzle.... People...! THIS is my new favorite sandwich of all time! It is so unique and refreshing and I am currently trying to recreate it at home! (I just need that BREAD!) I can't say enough great things about Athens Bread Company, and we can't wait to stop in again on our way from Michigan to Louisville in a few months. If you're in the Athens area, make it a point to stop and try something! Anything! Grab a loaf, a sandwich, and a bottle of flavored balsamic vinegar or oil..... I promise you won't be sorry! :)

What a great bakery! We ordered a couple of loaves of bread along with a trail mix cookie. All we're so good and the service was spot on. You are greeted as soon as you walk in with a smile and the smell is intoxicating inside. No seating to stick around inside but worth the visit!

Great bread. Unfortunately if you don't arrive right when they open you may not get what you're looking for. Hard to get that time available.

Went in on a Wednesday afternoon and sadly they did not have the bread I wanted. But I ended up purchasing a giant loaf of sourdough for $3.50. It ended up being a great bread to use for grilled sandwiches! Workers were super nice and friendly. Wish they had their prices posted next to their breads though because I didn't know how much it cost till he told me the total bill at the end.

Deliciously authentic French-style pastries and breads in a cozy shop. The grilled sandwiches are incredibly tasty, too! Sourdough was mild but flavorful, and especially good toasted. Please clone yourself and come to northern Ohio, ABC.

Doug is absolutely the sweetest! We highly recommend the ciabatta bread and the Olive Oil Cake!!!!!

These lovely folks BLISS ME OUT!!! Not only are they sweet... and open fairly late for a bakery (7pm)... they make some of the best bread I've ever tasted, as well as utterly ethereal croissants... olive oil cake... tarts.. and paninis. Their sourdough bread is absolutely on par with all the sourdough I've tasted in San Francisco. Yeah, it's that amazing... and keeps well! I'm also rather gluten intolerant... and this bread as well as the white sandwich bread (amazing too!) never bothers me or gives me bread bloat! Apparently, at least for the sourdough... they import a special non-gmo wheat from France. Intriguing right!? The price on the breads is very fair... making it impossible not to buy even more! Speaking of which, I notice some reviews don't realize that ABC has a great selection earlier in the day on sweet treats.. so it sounds like they should be making more.. because often, I cannot stop by early enough to get the sweet stuff. Make more!!!! Please! Especially those amazing dark chocolate croissants!!! So what could be better other than more sweets available? I really wish they had a place where I could get some real espresso until 7pm (a feature not available now unless you go uptown)... some sort of patio or sidewalk seating. That video store next door would be interesting.... hint hint! Thanks for all the great baked items guys! And thanks for not making them super sweet either! A True European Boulangerie!

This is the place where I buy all of my bread now. I also really like the sandwiches and cannot leave with a chocolate croissant! If you go in early enough the chocolate is still melty on the inside... perfect with a cup of coffee. Workers and owner are wonderful too!

Small place with decent selection of breads. Only sweet treat was a cinnamon roll, which was fantastic.
