The lasagna tasted like my momma just slaved over the oven for hours. It was a huge piece. I could only eat a portion of it lol the service was fantastic and I’ll be coming back! Five stars from this Southern Mississippi girl

This place is always busy because it’s just that good. I’ve come in 3 times in the past week because they’re kind, fast, and the food is just made with love. Sandwiches are great and breakfast is too.

Athens has always given us very good quality food and service every time that we go there. This is a place that really cares about their employees and their customers. Definitely visit here if you are driving nearby

The fish dinners were delicious, but the service wasn't great. Unfortunately, they are only open for dinner on Fridays now, and takeout orders seem to be staff's top priority. Our area could really benefit from a reliable non-sports bar neighborhood restaurant serving dinner every day.

Really, really impressed with their service and their food. What a great diner! My husband and I had gone for a late breakfast around 11:30 AM on a Sunday and they were booming from the minute we walked in and walked out. SERVICE | 10/10: Our server (we didn’t catch her name) was super sweet and not overly attentive. She was pleasant and prompt, and we loved that all of the waitresses kind’ve floated around - asking if we wanted more coffee, anything additionally for our meals, etc. FOOD | 10/10: It’s diner food so go in with those expectations but our meals were both delicious! Everything came out piping hot was cooked perfectly. The home fries did lack a little bit of flavor, but add a little S&P and you’re all set! They had great chocolate milk and coffee was good according to my husband. Overall 10/10 experience. Such a cute mom & pop type restaurant with really great service and good food, we’ll be back!

Had lunch here on Friday, my first time but my sister been before, and said its amazing and it was. Prices are very cheap for the large amount food you get. I got gyro plate. So much meat! My sister had the gyro omelet. Can't wait go again!

I ordered takeout the first time, and the food was delicious. Service was great. Price was okay. I ordered on DoorDash this time, and I wasted my money. The breakfast was not good. I ordered country fried steak, home fries, eggs, and toast and the other meal was sausage patties, eggs, home fries , and toast. It was $31 and with door dash $43….total waste. Idk what happened but that food was NOT good at all. It had no taste. UPDATE: I ordered breakfast this morning and it is great! I did a carry-out order. The food is delicious and the presentation is awesome! Well done! I’ve heard so many good things about this restaurant so my last experience threw me for a loop. I’ve seen the line wrapped around the corner some mornings! My faith is restored! Thank you!

Great portions! Theres alot more corn than in Picture. First time ordering from them, service was fast. will be back again!

Breakfast is always spot on and I have never had a bad dinner here. The wait staff are all friendly and personable. The atmosphere is a typical diner look from Athens. All together always a good experience

I don't know which to rave about - the outstanding food or the exceptional service. We never miss the chance to visit Athens when we're in Beaver Falls. The egg-cheese-sausage-bagel breakfast sandwich is the best I've ever had. If they ever open a satellite location in my Boston suburb neighborhood I'll be their best customer! Sorry, no photos.

Love the food AND THE PRICE! Since retiring, my brother and I have a weekly standing for trying a different breakfast place each week. He had visited Athens before, but I had not. I think this was my favorite so far. Food is good... it came just the way I requested it. I was a little jealous when I saw my brothers Taco omelet (looked so good!), and will probably order that when I come back to have my husband experience this place, because I'll definitely be back! Last, the prices were very affordable!

The staff was sweet. The Coffee kept coming and the waitress was very attentive. One waitress caught my attention. She was the owner's Granddaughter. As customers were coming in and out. The young girl wax cleaning tables and helping out as fast as the customers were coming in. The food was delicious and the portions were generous for the price.

If you love Greek food, this is your place! They also serve non-Greek dinners as well! Me and my family visited today after church and we loved our meal and the service was fantastic as well! My husband had a sweet tea, our daughter had a lemonade and I had a mix of the two for an Arnold Palmer. Me and my husband both wanted a bowl of their homemade wedding soup (it was absolutely delicious!). My husband got the gyro platter which came with slices of gyro meat, pita bread, tzatziki sauce, tiropita, spanakopita, grapeleaves, lettuce , tomatoes and onions. I had a grilled chicken salad with added gyro meat, which had cheese, French fries and I had the lemon oil dressing it comes with it (amazing!) Our daughter had a chocolate chip pancake, scrambled eggs, sausage links, and toast. She nibbled on the soup, grapeleaves and gyro meat and all of us took home 4 boxes of leftovers because we couldn't finish the delicious food. I also know the wonderful Apostolis family that owns this restaurant and we love their family - they are hardworking and incredibly down to earth and kind. We highly recommend you visit this place to dine - you'll leave with a full tummy, leftovers no doubt and the prices are very affordable. There's a beautiful mural on the one wall of the restaurant of the Acropolis in Athens which adds to its cozy ambiance as well. I know Greek food and good food generally speaking and this place is where it's at! I forgot to take pics but will update my review for the next time we visit!

This is definitely a happy follow up... today I stopped back at a great local family restaurant for their M-Th Meatloaf sandwich special and I am glad I did. Moist meatloaf with homemade mashed potatoes covered in a dark rich gravy for $5.50! You just can't beat it, Aloha

Unbelievable! Here we are in tiny Beaver Falls, pa. We discovered an absolutely delicious Resturant. ,Athens Family Resturant, with one of best servers anywhere, Marina A.. The food was great. Their bacon cheeseburger was huge and delicious .9 One reason is that it was made with 90/10 beef. I also had the beef vegetable that ate like stew. WHAT A FIND! Go see them!

First time here, and will definitely be back. Omelette were huge, home fries crispy, and service was great. Coffee was always filled, and everyone was friendly and busy. We had Darbi as our server and she was delightful. Good service is hard to come by in BC in my opinion, and you can tell they have a well oiled machine here.

It was another wonderful Sunday breakfast after church at Athens in Beaver Falls, PA where every waitress greets you and serves you with a smile and then manager and sweet friend Marina Apostolis Brown stops at your table for a personal hello!!! They always make sure everything is just right!! We love love love Athens! Delicious food and great portions and fair prices. Excellent service! You won't regret stopping if you have never been there and will be sure to go back repeatedly!! Homemade food too and plenty to choose from! Hometown, warm atmosphere.

Price, price, price! The food is mostly tasty! The portions very large and the price is the most budget friendly we've found this far. Highly recommend!

We went to Athens on a late-Saturday morning around 11:30. There were only a couple open booths (in fact, come to think of it, all the seats are booths). The dining area is welcoming and comfortable. There are partitions in between the middle row of booths that can be lifted if you want to join tables. My wife and I were both hungry for breakfast. She ordered three basted eggs, and asked twice for them to be extra hard with no yolk. When they came to the table, they were as runny as could be, almost as if the kitchen was saying "eff you." I had a little more luck, as I ordered the broccoli, chicken, and cheese omelet, which was loaded with chicken and filled up the whole plate. It was one of the greasier omelets I have had in a while, but sometimes the flavor is worth it. Also, if you are bread snobs, this might not be the place for you. Your only options are bagged white, wheat, texas, and rye, in addition to english muffins. The service was friendly and the prices were reasonable. So all in all, it wasn't that bad, just not good enough for us to go out of our way to come back.

One of the best places in all the Pittsburgh area. You cannot beat the quality and quantity of food you get here. Prices are very reasonable and service is very friendly. Always look forward to coming here and ordering the gyro omelette and home fries!

For our first time here my husband & I had the Gyro Platters and were very pleased. The tzatziki sauce was homemade with pieces of cucumber and just the right flavors. The grape leaves were hand rolled and not mushy inside. The meat was cooked just right - a little crispy on the edges, but not hard. My son had the meatloaf and loved it. Great value for your money and the service was fast & friendly.

My favorite Greek food in the area! Even on busy mornings, their customer service is absolutely impeccable. Always quick to keep that coffee cup filled. I highly recommend the gyros and or pancakes. Very family friendly.

Athens is my favorite place to eat. I especially love the Haddock fish sandwiches. But , no matter whether I buy breakfast,lunch, or dinner, the food is always great. The service is also excellent. They take good care of you and fun to chat with!

Amazzzing place to eat breakfast! Their omelets are humungous! Definitely could share! I personally love the pancakes and gyro omelet! Really tasty gyro meat! Waitresses are all excellent here. Darcy and Marina are two of our favs.

Yesterday afternoon, lunchtime hunger pangs caused us visit this modest establishment. That, and it hadn't been touched by a Yelper yet. There. I owned up to it. Ya happy? Kay & Darren: Explorers Of The Unknown Contrary to the name, Athens Family Restaurant's fare is pretty much all over the place. There's a little bit of Greek, a little bit of Italian, and a whole lot of traditional diner food to be found on their extensive menu. Where there's Greek food, there's gyros, and if you know me by now, you know I have a thing for gyros, so guess what I ordered... This gyro was spread eagle on my plate, letting it all hang out like a drunken, barely-conscious college student on birthday # 21. The thing was such a wreck, I hadda eat it with a knife and fork (this is becoming a trend in my dining adventures), but it tasted like a dream. The tzatziki sauce was what made the gyro for it was appropriately tangy and creamy with cucumber bits visible throughout. The gyro meat itself was tender, the pita toasted, the veggies fresh, my stomach: pleased. I keep running across exceptional cole slaw, AFR's slaw being yet another specimen of cool, milky, palate-cleansing crispness. Geez, what can't you eat with cole slaw? I'd eat it with foie gras, filet mignon, lobster even! Fries: Average. Kay's Hot Turkey Sandwich: Regrettably flavorless. I felt sorry for her. She let me take a bite so as to confirm the grim tidings for myself. I did the Lemon Meringue thing for dessert. The crust was nice and cakey, but the rest of it gave me the vague feeling that it was one of those deals where a pie was bought frozen and thawed. Like a haunted room, there were some really cold spots throughout it. However, I did find that Athens Family Restaurant makes a splendid Baklava (I bought some on the way out) that passes and exceeds every requirement. Sticky? Check. Flaky? Check. Chewy? Check. Nutty? Check. Sweet? Check. Did I take some home? Check. You get 3-4 with an order. I have 2 left. And you ain't gettin' em! Consider my experience with Athens Family Restaurant to be a mixed one, hence the grade of 3 stars.

Excellent breakfast and lunch place. Perfectly cooked eggs. Coffee perfect temperature. Gyro meat perfectly done. Best Gyro from Chicago to Philly. Baklava sticky and satisfying. Tuesdays is meatloaf special night.

My girlfriend and I were looking for somewhere new to eat as we just relocated to the area and I found this place online. The food sounded good as did the reviews. The drive was over 20 minutes but it was a nice day so we chose to take the trip. We arrived at the restaurant almost an hour before they were to close. The open sign was displayed and the door was unlocked however when we walked in we were quickly told they were closed and shooed out with no further explanation. This was quite irritating as we wasted the time and gas to drive here and had not eaten all day. Beaver Falls isnt exactly booming with places to eat either so we went to Z Pub in Chippewa. Id really like to try the food but I wont be making any special trips after this BS.

The food is good, but the restaurant name is deceiving. There is only a few Greek options, and even they are not authentic. I have visited Athens, Greece and let me tell you, if you want a *real* Greek salad go there.

One of the better breakfasts around, no matter what you get. I recommend the gyro with eggs and home fries. The food has that aged and seasoned griddle flavor that is so hard to come by. The service is great and friendly, especially Marina, the owner's daughter. Hot coffee filled all the time and food done in a jiffy. Prices are also reasonable. My only complaint, none.

I ate here Friday and food was horrible! It was cold and staff was rude. A couple came in to eat at 715pm, the open sign was on and door unlocked and the waitress told them to leave. I will never go here again and if I were you, wouldn't either!

Delicious gyro - made with the genuine spinning cone of meat and not that pressed pre-formed stuff. Glad we stopped.

Darren seems like he is following me everywhere! This guy needs to do something more to pass the time. If you want a diner with a good cup of coffee, a damn good omelet and want it cheap, this is the place. On a sunday morning this place is packed! They do use fresh ingredients, which is strange for a diner, but you can tell they have quality. If you want Greek food, I would suggest you don't come to Beaver Falls. This is the classic diner fare with the good ole Greek twists, but about as Greek as John Belushi was on his old SNL sketch. Try it out for breakfast and you won't regret it! Just a note: Bring cash. The credit is a pain in the behind!

Returned to BF last fall or my first high school football game in decades (Aliquippa won, ?*$%#) & stopped in to Athens the next morning for a great breakfast. Pancakes, sausage, the works. My only reservation was that the place was packed and the waitresses overworked - but that's also a sign of success. I'd return in a heartbeat.
