Went last year for the first time. Went again today and there seemed to be less vendors. Prices are super high. Yes, I know it's local and all, but I'm just stating facts. $8 will get you a pound of tomatoes or a dozen eggs. $20 will get you a pint of honey. It gets super crowded early. We bought turkey legs for the dogs, some produce and some really good sourdough and a cinnamon roll. I'm probably good for one visit per season...

Big farmer's market. Nice to the southern local businesses bloom in a small city like Athens. Seen a lot of unique stalls like candles and jewelers. On the other hand typical farmers market stuff like meat, eggs, & produce. What caught my eye was the Sri Lankan food stall that also sold some Indian items like Vada and Mango lassi. The people were very cordial, patient, and welcoming. However, I would have to say, everything in the market was ridiculously expensive for a small city like Athens.

Google
Farmers markets are fun. I just don't quite like the high prices. Perhaps if I stayer longer and enjoyed the crowd a little more, i’d uave given a four star review.

If mornings could be a bit more leisurely, I'd stick around to enjoy more of the vibe. Shopping and edibles are quality! Looking for to the next visit.

Google
Best farmers market. Several farms represented, produce, beef, chicken, eggs, everything you need. Art and gifts from multiple vendors. And you can’t leave without some of the best jelly I ever had

Google
Such a wonderful and diverse market where you are able to get all the fresh produce, produce, meats and baked goods you could ever dream of weekly.

Yelp
Exceeded our expectations - which is saying a lot, as we are admittedly jaded after decades of regular shopping at farmers markets in Southern and especially Northern California, which have set very high standards for us in terms of quality, variety, price, etc. The Athens Farmers Market is perhaps one of - if not THE - best markets outside of California we've ever been to, and it was a very pleasant surprise to discover it. We very much will look forward to many more visits now that we live in the Athens area!

Yelp
I went for the first time recently and made some amazing purchases! I will try to make this a regular visit. The only downfall is that the market is open 8 am-12 pm on Saturdays

Yelp
Athens Farmers Market offers a nice selection of vegetables, fruits, and processed goods like bread, jams, and honeys. I've discovered new foods every time I've visited. Be warned, you have to go there early because fruits especially go out first. Also a lot of the produce is seasonal, such as blueberries and strawberries, which will only be sold for a couple weeks. I love their variety of preserves and jams from this one vendor, and always buy their spicy mango preserve to top chicken and other meats. The weekday farmers market in downtown has live music and lots of dog owners as well. Overall great selection of fresh produce and a good learning experience as well.

Yelp
Small and quaint but the people are as good as gold in this farmers market ! Found some amazing hummus with homemade pita chips with slight lemon flavor to take with us home back to SC the next day. Magic Molly's Purple potatoes were unusually shape and upon first glance regular potatoes but with further glances they were indeed purple potatoes. Tasted great cooked days later thinly sliced baked in the oven with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of sea salt baked to perfection. My wife found some amazing soaps, peppers, granola along with some fresh juice. The show stopper was the chocolate glazed sea salt vegan donuts at the food truck near the entrance to the market. Last but not least we split a giant sausage egg and cheese biscuit topped with amazing jam a steal at 9.00 also by the entrance a solid experience but plan on doing some laps in the nearby by park to walk off the mega biscuit. Parking is free !!!!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
Let's be honest - it is more expensive than your Kroger but the quality of produce is unmatched. I could easily tell that the vegetables were in prime condition and that a lot of hard work went into farming these foods. Produce isn't the only thing that's at the Athens Farmer's Market. There's artisan breads, various pastries, free-filtered coffee, local farm eggs, grassfed meats and handmade products. The eggs from Greendale Farm are of excellent quality: sturdy, hard shells and perky, yellow yolks. Definitely worth the money. Just remember to bring cash because your plastic isn't going to work here. Get the word out and stop by Bishop park on Saturday. You won't regret it.

Yelp
All the vendors are super friendly. I attend regularly with my son, who enjoys the kids table.

Yelp
I just ate the best salad of my life, thanks to the organic heirloom tomatoes I bought at the Athens Farmers Market this morning ($1). For dinner, I can't wait to play around with the bag of HUGE heirloom okra I bought from a friendly farmer ($3). This market is still getting off the ground, and the focus is a little bit heavy on non-produce items for my taste. However, the artisanal organic breads they had from two different bakeries did look tempting. But, I have to give this market mad props for its commitment to sustainable, organic, and local farmers. From their website: "The Athens Farmers Market sells only products that are produced within 100 miles of Athens, Georgia. - Growers adhere to "Naturally Grown" standards of chemical-free, organically fertilized produce. - Meat products are from grass fed/free range livestock. - Prepared food, prepared in certified kitchens and contains substantial organic ingredients in prepared juices, bread, chocolates and personal fruit pies. - Coffee is locally roasted using beans acquired from "fair trade" markets. - Crafts and objects of art are handmade or have very substantial value added by the craftsperson. " Stop by Bishop Park next Saturday from 8am-12noon and taste the difference for yourself!

Yelp
Selection looks pretty good- lots of fresh vegetable vendors. Dogs are not welcome. No signs posted & it's not on the website as of this date. Gentleman who stopped me pointed out that food was present. Not a problem at farmers markets I've been to- their choice but I would've appreciated notice on the site & a sign.

Yelp
Best produce around! They also work with the Wholesome Wave Program which doubles EBT dollars. The volunteers are always nice and you can run your debit card for tokens to purchase from the different vendors. Nice touch they have musicians play for entertainment and its a great selection of produce, cut flowers, ready to eat foods, plants and artists goods plus more. It brings the community together and supports our locals!

Yelp
Athens is really lucky to have the Farmer's market! Fresh produce and meat, good coffee and pastries, nice music and mingling with the neighbors. Doesn't get much better than that.
