This is a nice women's athletic and leisurely wear shop. It has a nice variety of clothes for most athletic and leisurely situation.

Love the clothes. The store was as awesome as other locations. Staff were helpful and friendly.

I went to visit this Athleta location this past Sunday after having received an online order of a few pairs of leggings that didn’t fit too great! Thankfully while in the store, I met an absolutely wonderful employee, Isabel which helped me find pieces that would be a better fit for me. She was sooooo kind, so honest and so attentive. I ended up in the fitting room with about 15 pieces of clothing and ended up buying 8 or 9 pieces? Of course I struggled with mom guilt getting so much for myself but Isabel reminded me to treat myself once in a while and I went ahead with the purchase! The only downfall is that I had a 20% coupon for my entire purchase since I signed up for texts but it wouldn’t apply to the purchase. (Absolutely no fault of Isabel or any employee, simply my oversight I guess!) Regardless I am so unbelievably thankful to Isabel for all her help! It was like going shopping with a best friend when she’d give me an opinion on something!!! She’s phenomenal- definitely will be returning to this store for future purchases!

I like this store. The staff was great. They were out of many smaller sizes, but they were able to order it. The top I wanted was delivered in 2 days.

I walked in this store on Saturday 2/20/21 and unexpectedly had a fun experience at this store. All the associates were so kind and not pushy and very welcoming. Kim was so gracious and helpful and made sure I had my sizes. She checked in at the opportune times and made me feel comfortable with her honest opinions (which I asked for). I walked away with such flattering and comfortable clothes! So happy with my purchase! Keep up the great work. <3

Very nice store. Expensive but nice. Staff need retraining. Updated 3/12/24 This past Sunday, 3/10/24, I went to the 5th Avenue store and like everyone else, walked around browsing. I then noticed a big, brusk White guy following me around the store and walking towards the exit PAST me, whenever I looked at clothing near there. So the 5th Avenue Athleta is now akin to the Athleta in Manhasset. It was cold and I had on a jacket and hat like everyone else. The only difference was I'm Black. My friend and I were the only Black people in the store. I've never seen ONE Black employee there. I had a return and due to some recent weight loss, I can buy more things in.the store so I browsed. Foolishly I, an adult, Black female, decided to buy something and was followed. The presentation was like they really don't think that White people steal. So when Black people come in, they have to bring the big White man wearing a t-shirt and jogging pants up so he can grab and perhaps wrestle the thieves because obviously they came to steal, right? Yuck. Again, I only shop at Athleta because they have an excellent B Corp score and things are very well made. But at each store I visit it's like I've time traveled and in the time warp have stopped in Selma, 1956. I feel like at any moment the employees are going to tell me they don't sell to colored gals there. Honestly. I'm only going to shop online from now on and make my returns in store. I love the clothes but they clearly hire the descendants of Grand Wizards and Supreme Cyclopses. Every time I go inside of an Athleta I feel like I'd better not be in there after dark. It's like a sundown town but really a sundown store.

Andres is super cool and helpful and he found me some cool tops for the warm weather in NYC. They have so many great options for all types of shapes and sizes.

This is such a great Athleta! The floorplan is super open and the sale section is huge. It was easy to browse and the sales people were helpful, but not pushy at all. I had to make an exchange for a different size. I looked around a bit and found the pants I wanted in the sales section! The cashier was super helpful in giving me a refund for my online order, since the pants are cheaper now than when I bought them. Then, she did a separate transaction for the new pants and explained the whole process to me. I was very happy with my shopping experience and will definitely be back!

Popped in for a quick return of an online purchase. My experience was wonderful. I browsed around and ended up doing an exchange. They no longer add paper packing slips, and have all their invoices online with a bar code on the shipping package, which they then scan and it pops up on their iPad. Also, they do not print receipts, as they are emailed to you to help reduce waste. The woman who helped me behind the counter was very helpful, and friendly. Their sale section is in the back, by the dressing rooms.

Trent and the entire staff at the Athleta Store, 156 5th Ave, NYC is amazing. Very helpful and I was not an easy customer. The best customer experience I have had in years. I will always shop there.

I am one of those mythical friends who enjoys getting clothing, including socks, for Christmas. Unfortunately, I am one of those people whose sizing is rather difficult to shop for. Before I digress, on this visit to Athleta I was returning a gift that did not fit. I didn't have the ample time I needed to try on a bunch of things so I decided to get something small (a headband) and get store credit to deal with later. Everyone seemed very disinterested with helping me, kind of hurt my feelings. They sent me in three different sections of the store that didn't even seem likely to have headbands. Still giving the benefit of the doubt, for the fourth time I asked the cashier where the headbands were and she proceeded to direct me to a rack of headbands...that were kids sized. I asked her if they were adult sized to disprove my doubt and she misleadingly said "yes." This sounds like a frivolous tale of woe, but it was such a waste of my time. Didn't get what I wanted out of the visit, felt so much frustration which could have been avoided. I'd rather have been told their headbands were sold out than be told to look downstairs and have the attendant look at me like I was insane to think there was headbands down there. From this day, I'll leave my headband shopping to online thank you !

Call me a snob but I like Lululemon better. I have purchased Athlete clothing on several occasions and am pretty "eh" about them. They don't wash especially well - significant fading after a few washes. The fit is so so and they look like Lulu knock-offs - at almost the same price! This store is set up nicely and the staff is very friendly but I simply don't like their clothing. It is pricey GAP body clothes.

The service is always great whenever I come here.... aside from the stuff being price... I found a really nice vest but cashier told me that it was a 2 in 1 jacket and the vest was missing a piece. I was able to order the item in the store. If you order an item in store (on the computer), it is FREE SHIPPING. :D -Athleta have free studio classes everyday. You can download the app Mindbody to sign up for the classes. The mats are provided by Athleta and any additional instruments are provided by the instructor, be sure to bring your own lock for the lockers. Also, bring a water bottle, there's water but no cups. There's a bathroom in the back section with the sales and the changing rooms. -S

Honestly, my shopping experience yesterday has been the highlight of my COVID days! Yesterday, I needed a "pick me up" so I decided to get some cozy, cute workout attire at Athleta. I had the best time shopping there, all the staff are knowledgeable and very accommodating! I was fortunate to have Kim as my salesperson. I'm tall with a smaller top and big bottom. Kim selected the most perfect choices! I left ever so happy! I actually returned today to buy more! Nothing like shopping with a great Salesperson! Thanks Kim!

I accompanied my mom here. Imagine - a shorter Paki lady around age 60 wearing a hijab. Meanwhile, the customers here seem to be white women around age 20-40. I felt really out of place as the only male in the store and I wanted OUT as soon as I stepped IN. I just wanted to disappear into the background but I didn't see any place to sit and be out of the way. My mom described to me in detail how softly the fitting room clerk spoke to her, and called her by her name, and how much she liked her. So despite the demographic difference, the staff was exceptionally kind and welcoming. All the clothing appears to be top notch yoga/fitness gear and a selection of nice raincoats or something. Nothing appeared to be on sale but I suppose that whatever you buy here will fit the bill. As I was standing around, I also noticed they have their own workout studio for all manner of yoga/core/etc. I imagine this store would complement very well any woman inclined towards taking care of her body and interested in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Overall, if I were a woman i'd want to shop here. Even if you don't buy anything you can perhaps come here to exercise or acquire inspiration towards a healthier lifestyle.

I went with my mom who has a pic line just after reverse shoulder surgery. She needed pants with a draw string. I know... not your usual customer. DW and Andres were wonderful. They fitted her, helped up, allowed her to sit down in the store. We bought several items. I was so impressed with both of their help. Over and beyond. This was the Athleta in Hudson Yards. I agree with the other reviews I've seen about this place. Highly recommend. Great clothes, great deals and excellent customer service!

I don't know about the store itself but some of your employees are highly inappropriate and unprofessional. I was walking by the store and two employees came out (they had their badges on) and went on to eve tease my sister and myself. It was really gross and makes me less excited to step anywhere near a gym/athleisure store.

About a month and a half ago, I came into this Athleta location looking to get some gifts for my girlfriend and sister. I was helped by an employee, Emily, and I wanted to make sure she got the commendations she deserved! She was incredibly personable and genuine, while being effective and beyond helpful at the same time. I left with more purchases than I expected to buy, and I attribute that entirely to her salesmanship. Every retail employee should, in an ideal world, hold themselves to the standards that she set!

I came here for gentle yoga class on a Wednesday night. The studio in the basement was very clean with good facilities and rooms. It was wellness week, there were a few different fitness/healthcare events at the stores. It was a relaxing experience to have a yoga class and hang out there.

Once upon a time Athleta considered it important to offer free classes which were packed with potential customers and made Athleta seem really community-minded. Suddenly, not one of the classes is free and since there is no reason to visit that store -- not convenient to where we live, there are others -- both Athleta and other stores -- we never go there anymore. Why on earth did they go from all to nothing ? Not a good marketing strategy one would think.... The store is beautiful, the studio perfect for classes, but the clothes are expensive, expensive enough, it would seem to support free classes....at least some free classes.

Thank you for opening this location Athleta. For those of us who aren't located near the UES location appreciate it! I fell in love. The customer service is fantastic. Friendly, helpful and I soon had a massive (neatly organized) pile of workout clothes to try-on. I do love their Chat tights and their revelation tights for both yoga and spinning. Several of their neon tops are now part of my workout wardrobe rotation. The dressing rooms are very big and spacious and I'm most definitely going to be a regular customer!

Grand opening awesome, now we have Atheleta downtime! Cool DJ, wine and food! There is also a raffle and they are showcasing stuff they don't have at the other stores. Free New York magazine.

Great store layout!! Nice employees and location. The clearance rack is in the back of store by dressing rooms. I know it's NYC, clearance prices were a bit higher than I'm used to paying in NC.

Cute workout gear and friendly staff every time I've visited. And I've been here maybe 6 times in last 2 months. (I'm an advocate of browsing to perfect item before handing my hard earned cash, ok?) There's a huuuuge rack of sale items as you head into the fitting rooms. All of the items are in great shape, and never look "last season". Every purchase I've made (shirt, leggings, and a bra) has felt higher quality than anything you get for fraction of a price at, say, Old Navy. So it'll withstand the test of time n' swear, And their stuff is CUTE. I feel confident wearing it out in public and while working out. Maybe it even makes me .5% faster. The scientific committee is still out.

Lovely, big new store in a central location. I walked in today and was greeted by a bark thins vendor who gave me a free bag of bark thins, followed be an Athleta employee who was very sweet and friendly. On my way out the door I wid bid goodbye by a green mustache vendor who offered me samples and gace me a free bottle of their delicious berry juice to take home. P.s. Parking is easy after 6 pm for those who drive.

This was my first time coming to the Athleta studio and let me tell you, it was pretty amazing! The staff was amazing, the studio was super clean, they had a filtered water fountain, granola bars on the way out, the studio is equipped with workout material which is amazing that you don't have to work around with a yoga mat or any other workout accessories. The studio wasn't packed, although i did go on a Tuesday around 1pm. Plus the workout was amazing!!!!! I will definitely be going back!

It was one of my favorite stores, but that changed today. I got a very unhelpful sales rep. I was the only customer in the store, when I asked for help there was none to be had. I did not get her name, but her number is 2735729. She could use some better training.

No sale items. Their training pants have pockets and zippers and feel bulky. Material could be softer. I'm always on the quest for better running gear and this place just doesn't meet the mark. Will try again when more new things come out. Would not spend $89 for the training pants that they had a this location.

This store has great workout gear. Nice materials for leggings and sweaters. I like that they sell Jade yoga mats here. Very helpful staff. Nice line of coats and outerwear in addition to clothing and workout goods Great addition to Gap brand.

I love Athelta's clothes for both working out and everyday life, and their Fifth Avenue store is one of my favorites. They offer a large assortment of things and always have a big sale section, clean and well lit dressing rooms, and a bathroom for customers (always a perk in NYC). I think it's great that they offer classes in their studio downstairs.

I love this new Athleta! It is huge, spacious, clean, great lay-out with a great sale rack. Super helpful/friendly worker helped me out. Very generous return policy if it doesn't work out (ha! no pun intended).

This store is probably the most welcoming place I have ever experienced. They greet you at the door and try to help you but only if you want it. There is no sales pressure. The clothes are amazingly comfortable and high quality, quite durable. These take you from "barre" to boardroom to the regular bar at the end of the day. Even better, there is a fabulous exercise studio downstairs with a great communal working space. You can either join, buy a class or take a class making a donation to charity. The classes are a broad range of fitness styles, studio is quite clean, new safe equipment and inspiring instructors. I am addicted!

This place rules. Love their selection, customer service and their prices! I was looking for something comparable to Lulu but without the hefty price tag and this place has got it! Quality athletic apparel with lots of selections of colors and styles. The staff was SUPER friendly and helpful. They ask you about what type of training you do and try to match you up with appropriate apparel. I found a sweet pair of Chatturanga pants which feel and look awesome! I also love their professional perk card which gives me 30% off every purchase since I'm a yoga teacher! Super dope! So I saved a ton of money! Will definitely come back! The staff gets 5 stars for being super professional!

This review is for the studio run by Athleta. I've been to countless fitness events from dance to yoga all for free because they're sponsored by Athleta. The studio is beautiful and new and they offer changing rooms and lockers to store your stuff. It's best to sign up for classes through the Mind Body App directly. It's also great to shop around before classes and they always have new apparel rotating in. Defnitely recommend for those interested in affordable fitness in the city.

So thankful for this studio who offers free community classes. In a city where being fit and healthy comes at such a cost, it's a relief to have this brand on my side that believes in wellness for all!! Thank you Flatiron team!

Superb Customer Service, very clean, always welcoming! I'm probably the last of the people who prefer to work out in a long cotton t-shirt and leggings but their leggings are nicely designed and there's always something attractive in their extensive sale section to treat myself to. Great location near Union Square (corner of 18th & Fifth Ave).

I will not be ordering online from Athleta again. Their customer service is terrible. I recently misplaced an order, and called within 1 hour of my order being placed to cancel. They assured me that a cancellation request was put in. Fast forward a month later, and the charge shows up on my credit card. I email and speak to an Athleta rep on the phone, to be told that my order was received. That's news to me. I never received the order and was charged for it. When I called Athleta to inform they of the situation, they were not sympathetic. I will not be ordering from Athleta again and will be telling others about my experience.

I have been a big fan of Athleta ever since I moved to NY but this is by far my favorite location as it has the beautiful designated fitness studio below the store. I have attended so many classes here while recovering from an injury and have been able to cross train my entire body and get stronger where I was injured. The staff is always friendly and when you come a lot, you get to know everyone on a first name basis and it seems like the staff makes an effort to know your name too. There is a variety of classes but Kiva's La Blast and Bunsout Ballet and Ana's Cheer class are my faves. I'm partial, as I love to dance, but the class are great for people without a dance background that are looking to try something new and don't mind getting sweaty. The clothes I've purchased have been a good fit and held up, so I'm a happy camper all around.

Great location next to my fave brands. I just wished they carried petites here. I love their pants - not just the yoga ones but the midtown trousers and viva pants. Definitely way better quality then Gap and Banana. I was truly disappointed when piperlime was shut down, but this brand makes up for it.

Athleta could be a hit or miss. They definitely have more styles and inventory in comparison to Lululemon but something about them doesn't seem to have the same attractiveness as Lululemon. I always end up going to their sale rack because their stuff are just as pricey as Lululemon. Occasionally, you will find some decent tops and pants. But most of the sizes in the sale section are either medium or large. However, I do enjoy going to their free fitness events that they sponsor such as the Times Sq Yoga Summer Solstice and Bryant Park Yoga. The instructors they hire really good compare to other yoga studios I've been to. As of last weekend, they had a grand opening party for their new fitness studio located in the lower level, which was a lot of fun. They had free classes, braid bar, make-up, and facials and of course, goodie bags. Throughout the month of December, they are also offering free classes from yoga to barre classes in the new studio for people to try out. Overall, the new studio is decent. They have lockers for you to put stuff in and changing areas. My only issue is that the studio room itself feels a bit small. They also have this pillar in the middle the room that is sort of in the way and blocks the flow of the room. If they keep the capacity of the classes to a minimum, then it shouldn't be too bad. Hit this place up for their free classes while you can before they start charging you.

I hear the service is great. Funny - I can not get anyone to help when I am there. Also, they make a big deal in the catalogue that they have tops by bra size. Great bra sizes for a 12 year old but not for adult women. They are super friendly to my kids when I am there but maybe a middle aged adult is not their target customer.

LOVE this place! They have amazing pieces for dance, yoga and everyday life. I would like one of EVERYTHING in the store! I was super impressed with their customer service - extremely accommodating while remaining laid back and not at all pushy. They even asked me why/when I'd be wearing my purchase(s) and when I told them I was a dance teacher, they immediately signed me up for their professional perk card which gives me 30% off every purchase. I saved so much $$$ all because they cared to ask about the purpose of my purchase. I was blown away by how much I really enjoyed shopping there!

Great customer service and yoga pants! It was super easy to exchange some yoga pants I received as a gift for a new size, and the staff was very, very helpful when I was trying to find some tank tops. The sales staff calls your name while you're in the fitting room to see if you need different sizes, which is a great service. I also tried on a pair of fleece-lined leggings they had hanging in the dressing room (marketing them with a quote from a satisfied customer). Ended up buying these and love them. The store even has a restroom for customers!

Came here for their grand opening and everything was nicely put in place. They sell women sports wear and outer wear. If only I won their 300 give away I would try out their outfit. The pricing wasn't on it so I couldn't tell the price range. The clothes look kinda of thin so not sure if its wind proof.

Love Athleta products (have been ordering from their catalogs since before they were acquired by the Gap)...and love the other stores in New York (the upper west side is particularly great with a terrific vibe, culture, activities, and most importantly a great product selection)....but this store (even though it just opened) is sparse, devoid of products and personality, and makes me want to spend $$$ on sheer lulu lemon pants instead. :( sad! I hope that they get it together after the holiday rush.

I love their tights and capris for working out so I went back today to get one more pair. I love that they are helpful in the fitting room area and on the salesfloor but as soon as I checked out at the register, I got the salespitch again about the Athleta/Gap/Banana Republic combined store credit card. Happens every time I come here. I would shop online but I needed to try things on. I had to say no 2-3 times to the salesperson...why do they continue to push these cards at certain stores and make you feel uncomfortable during your check out?? I wanted to leave on a happy note.

Wow! They have improved their product tremendously since I ordered online years ago. The cuts are much more flattering, fabrics feel better against the skin, colors are fantastic. Great selection. The best part was the customer service. I was really impressed. Two women waited on me--both asked my name, helped me find things in my size, helped me find alternatives, helped me decide on what looked good,and they even kept the store open for me to finish my selection. Yes, the clothes are a little pricey, and I dropped a hella more lot than I intended, but you know what? No regrets. I have a bunch of new things that look good. I like supporting stores that clearly foster good customer service. Athleta, you're doing it right.

from the moment I walked in I felt great and connected. great energy, actually grand energy at the 5th ave store! Jamie, lauren and Caitlin...what phenomenal young women! Jamie greeted me and asked me my name...I do the same wherever I go and that makes people smile and that she did! when I had collected a few things to try on, Jamie introduced me to lauren and Caitlin...they checked on me after a few minutes to see if I needed something in another size...again!!!, using my name! soooooo great! I could definitely tell that they enjoyed what they do for a living. I have always enjoyed athlete gear but prefer to shop in stores and not on the internet because it looses the human condition so I truly want to thank you for opening up "shop" on 5th. if those young women could be contacted by upper management and given a great big "amazing work ladies!"
