Atlanta Life Insurance Company

I believe this company may be a scam. Was hired by an individual representing Atlanta Life Insurance to take pictures for a community event at a Detroit-area school. Arrived on-time, stayed for the entirety of the event, returned pictures to the client by agreed upon timeline, and submitted an invoice for payment. More than week later I still have not received payment for services rendered. It's a shame when a Black company promoting Black wealth and excellence withholding payment from a Black photographer. But I suppose sometimes it be you own people.

When a customer request to have their policy turned over to the funeral home in order to meet eligibility for Medicaid, they should honor the request. Medicaid waiver enables elderly to receive long-term care, if the consumer can show proof of transfering the policy to the funeral home. ATLANTA LIFE is negatively impacting elderly people's ability to access care. This company is a sham. They don't respond and if and when they do... they tell you lies to delay your request. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY with them. The other reviewer is true... Years ago they sold older people whole life policies and do not want to honor them.

My mom passed away her policy was paid in full. They did not honor the policy. My mom was 87. When she took out the policy I don't believe they explained it to her. These insurance companies will take your money but when it comes to paying out it a No. All I can say is if you have elderly parents please check out their insurance policies because back then blk elders people was grabbing al insurance policies thinking that it was a good thing to do and they didn't explain the policies to them. Sad, Sad. Just Check your policies.. Please

This is the worst black owned insurance company. The customer service is horrible. My dad who has passed away opened a policy with Atlanta Life Insurance Company. I tried following up on his policy but got no phone call back. I sent an email with copies of the policy and still no response. Black owned businesses want your support but if this is what I can expect from them no thank you. I finally touched the right button to talk to someone but wasn't any help. I asked to speak to someone in management. I spoke with Marchell not sure if I'm spelling her name correctly but she said that she would call me back tomorrow. I hope she does because I've been dealing with this since October 1st.

This company will not call you back and they will sell your policy to other companies. It is a black owned company and it is ripping older people off. I cannot find my mother policy she paid for anywhere. Do not use them and good luck if your family has a policy with them. I will be contacting the BBB also. They get no stars, they suck!!

We have been trying to work on mother in laws life policy for 3 months now. They send correspondences to her address VS ours even though we’ve provided our address. They keep crossing policy information with another family member or when we try and explain that to them on another call they state that they don’t see another policy. Just got a rejection letter sent to wrong address of course advising us the policy isn’t my mother in laws. It’s crazy and frustrating. It’s hard enough given the situation and their lack of professionalism makes it worse

Customer service is horrible. You cannot and will not get in touch with anyone here. I've had to pay thousands of dollars in deposits because no one could get in touch with anyone at Atlanta Life to verify our policy. Quite a shame. Alonzo Herndon is probably rolling in his grave right now! They are disgracing his legacy.

I believe this company is defrauding customers. Filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and rhe National Association of Insurance Commissioners. Anyone else being defrauded? I intend to file a lawsuit on behalf of my 85 year old mother who's been paying on a policy for 30 years.
