"Set to open by July within a 10.35-acre entertainment district developed with Pharrell Williams on the former site of the original Dome, this surf lagoon is the first in the United States to use Wavegarden wave-generation technology. Located just two blocks from the ocean, it will produce consistent, year-round rideable waves with seven wave settings—offering gentle rollers for beginners up to fast, barreling breaks for advanced riders. Sessions last 55 minutes and start at $100, and on-site coaching will be available, led by local pro Jason Borte, the director of coaching and a 2016 East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame inductee. There are some things when I was growing up that I thought I would never experience and 1 of those I have crossed off my list. Being able to visit my family and friends while surfing guaranteed perfect waves is a dream. I'd like to thank the whole crew,Rob Kamp(Ultra-lite)for the magic board,and especially Mike Culpepper and family for all the hard work and the invite. Love you all. This is such a wonderful addition to Virginia Beach. Compliments the Oceanfront perfectly! We did a tour and watched a group of pros test it out, and WOW! First in the NATION to get this wave generation technology. Can't wait until the new shops and restaurants are in full swing!

Holy smokes what a blast. Professionally run, waves are super fun. Price is what it is, but guaranteed waves demand a certain price point. Probably not an every week sort of thing, but will definitely be back in flat spells. Family friendly and welcoming.

Epic experience. Can’t wait to come back. We made the trip to the surf park from Miami. We were not disappointed. Great waves for all types and staff are super friendly. The AI camera system was a nice touch as I now have video and photos of my surf sessions to take home.

From the moment you arrive, the staff is notably friendly and welcoming, ensuring that the check-in process is always smooth and efficient. The facility itself is top-notch and immaculately maintained. What truly sets Atlantic Park apart is the consistent progress in the experience; every visit results in an improvement over the last. Furthermore, the locker rooms and bathrooms are exceptionally clean and well-designed, making changing into and out of wetsuits easy and comfortable. Highly recommended for surfers of all levels!

Walked in and went straight to the lockers. Put all my stuff down got suited up. Went out and surfed a Pro session. Did a bunch of good turns and got some good barrels. Got out and went straight to the showers. Shampooed and conditioned my hair then got dressed. Amazing experience!!

So much fun!!! If I lived close by, I’d surf there at least once a week. The vibe is mellow, waves are good, acai bowls are on point, and everyone who works there is stoked. I can’t wait to go back!

We've heard about this surf pool for years, and it finally happened! It's beautiful, with 2 wave pools - one for surfing right and another for surfing left. You can sign up for different sessions depending on whether you're a beginner, intermediate or expert, and you can even sign up for lessons. Prices depend on what type of wave you're signing up for, but they're about $100 for 55 minutes. The number of surfers also depends on the wave type, but it ranges from 20-40 surfers per session with the opportunity to catch 10-15 waves per session. This surf wave pool is outdoors and not heated, so in the winter, you'll need to borrow or bring a hooded wetsuit. There is a $25 fee if you want to just watch surfers in the wave pool which is a bit of a bummer. I haven't personally surfed in the pool yet, but people I know have and they said it's better than they expected. I have heard that the pool is shallow for barrels, as one person got stitches on his head after scraping the bottom.

Incredible experience! I work here and surfed for the very time. If you're new to surfing or never surfed before, this is the perfect place to learn. The lifeguards, coaches, and experienced surfers were all so encouraging and hyped me up the entire time . It's also a total vibe! They have an all-day Beach Club pass that comes with access to a pool. So you can come and watch surfing and hangout.

I recommend an option for family or friends to watch without requiring them to pay ($27 including tax) for a day pass. That's crazy when you consider a surf session is only 55 minutes long. If you won't do that, consider investing in more comfortable seating in the lobby, or even a better viewing area for people who obviously aren't interested in hanging out all day.
