The D.C.-Area Restaurant Openings You Should Know About This November | Eater DC

"The newly relocated flagship debuts as the first and only beer production east of the Anacostia River, celebrating opening weekend with a free slice of Andy’s Pizza with every pint purchased. Originally born in Ivy City, the solar powered Southeast headquarters quadruples production capacity, while the brand continues to maintain tap rooms in Alexandria and Navy Yard." - Emily Venezky

Opening weekend report: awesome! Wide variety of good beers brewed onsite using 100% solar power (with extra process heat recovered for water heating in this apparently net zero mixed use building!), fantastic views of the beautiful Douglass Bridge and Anacostia River, pinball machines,c claw machines, and classic arcade games, and delicious crispy pizza. There are nice and airy outdoor and indoor areas, and even a small publicly-available onsite playground. Kids are welcome, and the food menu includes some quality items like Brussel sprouts and chicken tenders that go beyond basic bar food. You could walk here across the bridge from Nats Park — feels like maybe 0.7 miles. There are also good bike racks, and this is right by the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail and Fort Circle Trail. Everyone at the bar and the ready-to-eat pizza counter was friendly and down-to-earth. Oh, and you can order with a human if you don’t want to order by smartphone— nice. Individual pizza slices (including the impressive pepperoni-sausage combo) are run through a small oven for a minute to ensure they’re served at the perfect temperature. I look forward to returning, and am happy to see Atlas bringing this great experience and new jobs to this part of DC.

I was excited to try this new spot downstairs from my apartment, so we ordered a whole pie with different slices to sample everything. Unfortunately, the experience was really disappointing. The pizza was extremely dry, almost like it had been sitting out overnight. It had no flavor, the crust was pale, and overall it just wasn’t enjoyable, we ended up having to throw it out. I understand they’re a brand-new establishment and are still finding their footing, and I genuinely hope things improve because the location is great. But as of now, the quality just isn’t there. Hope to see better in the future.

Wonderful and gorgeous new flagship location for Atlas. Huge upgrade from Ivy City - bright, airy, light filled and feels wonderful. Staff is most excellent. Go visit!

This place is great! So excited for this new development this location is excellent. Staff are super friendly and Andy’s pizza is the best. On Sundays they have most games but they don’t play NFL Redzone yet unfortunately. I’m really hoping they make that small investment.

I dropped by for some pizza slices. The staff were friendly and the food was great. I tried to margarita and the white pizza. Excellent crisp, great undercarriage and good sauce to cheese ratio.

Great new spot with plenty of seating, great pizza and beer, and outdoor area including a small playground for families! (Something I’ve never found next to food in navy yard)
