Service was great. The restaurant was clean. It was not busy when we were here. Our visit was in February on a Friday around 1:30pm. We got pizza (pepperoni with ricotta on top) which was decent but nothing to write home about. They put big globs of ricotta on top (does anyone actually eat it like this? I wasn't a fan of the presentation and it was too much ricotta anyway.). I got an order of the breaded cheese ravioli too since I love (fried) breaded ravioli from a local restaurant in my hometown. Atlas' ravioli was OK but nothing I would order again. My grandmother got the fried zucchini with marinara sauce. She said she liked it. I personally wouldn't go back here again. She wasn't a fan of my pizza that much either and we have had better. We are glad we tried out a new restaurant though. It is located in a strip mall area. Plenty of parking!

Google
My wife and I have been searching for Jersey style pizza since we moved to Chespeake in April. We’ve tried a few other places (some good, some not so good) but Atlas is the best we’ve had so far. Anybody who has spent significant time in NJ knows what good pizza looks and tastes like and Atlas passes both the eye test and the taste test.

Took my family to Atlas Pizza on Kempsville Rd after doing pottery a few doors down in June. My kids were excited to dine in, but from the start the two young cashiers gave us a cold, unwelcoming vibe. We had to pay before sitting down including a tip before service???, get our own plates and silverware, and there was no greeting, thank you, or smile. When we were leaving, I even told them how good the food was just to see if there would be any response or emotion after what we had just experienced. There was nothing, no smile, no goodbye to my kids who were waving. It was disheartening and felt like confirmation of racial bias, something I’ve never experienced so blatantly as an adult. After talking with others, I’ve since learned this location has a reputation for treating customers this way. STAY AWAY

This is the way Pizza should be made. Brick oven and Quality cheese (Grande Cheese) great dough, fresh toppings. Couldn’t contain myself, burnt my mouth because it is so delicious. I’m from Philly and looked all over Chesapeake and found the jewel of pizza. Thank you Atlas Pizza for making me feel like home.

Google
Pizza was great, calzone was delicious. You get your money's worth. Employees were friendly. This is our new place to go for pizza.

Google
I have to say, Atlas Pizza is about the closest to NJ pizza that we have found here in Chesapeake. You order at the counter, but someone brings your food to you. Everyone is very courteous and friendly. The salads are fresh and look good in appearance (taste good too). The pizza is very good! We go often and are never disappointed!

Aurora González H.

Google
We are from jersey. Atlas has the Best NY / NJ style pizza in chesapeake. Tiramisu is so delicious when it's fresh and the cheesecake was DELICIOUS true NY style rich but also velvety creamy, i thought it was made in house, its not but still good. We love this pizza spot. It's definitely old school if you dine in not fancy but who cares.

Katrina G.

Google
We had an AMAZING pizza here! Service was friendly and excellent. Thank you, and we'll be back again soon!

Yelp
When family comes to town, that means PIZZA night! Atlas Pizza is always requested. This is the closest we can get to our old pizza joint in NJ. Hampton Roads isn't really known for pizza but we have never been disappointed with Atlas. I ordered it on Friday night and it was ready when I got there (about 20 min) and was perfectly made. The crust was thin and they were perfect slices. My family loves that you can get either crumbled or sliced sausage, we choose sliced. We have never had a bad dinner with them and I'm sure while they are still in town, we will be having more pizza!

Yelp
Pizza and food were pretty good. We did an 18in pizza which was huge but the perfect size. The eggplant parm was pretty good, a little too crispy for me, but good. The chicken tenders were great, not greasy and perfect crunch, although it seemed it was mostly a small amount cut in half. The side salad was big and had lots of toppings which was nice. The fried mushroom appetizer was very good and a nice portion.

TrueReview S.

Yelp
Worst pie I have ever had hands down and I grew up on NY pizza. We ordered a large 1/2 pepperoni 1/2 sausage. As soon as I saw it I knew it wouldn't be good. Cheap tomato sauce, cheap toppings, and lousy cheese. I eat my slices folded and when I did the dough cracked. A sure sign of not enough water mixed in the dough = cheap dough. We went next door to Walmart and bought extra cheese and sausage to put on top of it. Don't believe me? A photo is attached. The dark sausage was added by us. Can you see theirs? Nope. This is what stingy looks like. Never ever again. $24 for garbage.

Yelp
I used to love their pizza, not the same anymore. The sauce tastes like they just opened up a bottle and poured it. No seasoning at all. I was very surprised and disappointed .

Tenci F.

Yelp
Wonderful!! We ordered the fry mix with Fried zucchini, Fried Mushrooms and poppers It was fresh and so delicious. The Deluxe pizza is the best.

Yelp
Came in for lunch between classes nearby, found a parking spot with ease and was warmly greeted at the door upon entering. Right away, you notice the neat counter set-up and a tidy little restaurant with adequate sitting room to the left. I was directed to find a seat and make myself comfortable and within the minute, I was having my drink order taken. The menu hits most bases when it comes to traditional Italian dishes without being too overwhelming. I decided to keep it simple and took advantage of their 2 slices + a drink lunch special for $5.99 - ordered a Margarita slice and an Atlas I with a Pepsi (no Coke, no problem). I indulged with a small Feta salad as well, appreciating that they give you the option between a full size for $7.50 and a small for $3.99 The "small" salad as big as most place's regular size salads - a very pleasant surprise to kick off lunch. And the pizza...SO GOOD. Not much more to say other than I wish I had another stomach just to eat more! Fresh veggies and oh so cheesy cheesy, YUM! And the real seller...delicious, generously portioned...ended up having to take a slice home...all for $12.25 I must also give my compliments to the young lady behind the counter who was doing the duties of a hostess, waitress and "bus-boy" all herself - welcoming patrons, seating them, taking orders, collecting plates, restocking the beverage fridge, cleaning tables, delivering orders, and more...from the looks of it, she's running the place! Google said this was the top pizza place in Chesapeake and I believe it!

Tameika H.

Yelp
I ordered the Philly cheese steak mushroom edition and tiramisu. The Philly cheese steak was very nicely seasoned and a good portion. It was delicious. I also ordered the tiramisu which was fantastic! I would definitely order from here again.

Yelp
I've ordered here many times and have recommended this place to many people, but the last few times have just been unacceptable. I've been told a 25 minute pick up time and the last few times I've ended up waiting 50-60min. This will probably be my last time ordering here. My battered shrooms were undercooked inside, burnt on the outside... (see pic). I waited almost an hour (50 minutes) for these? Unfortunately, I drove all the way home to a hungry family for this and 2 small pizzas; a meat lovers and a small pepperoni that ended up being only a cheese pizza. Fifty Dollars down the drain. FIFTY DOLLARS. Gotta take the hit on this one, lesson learned. Proceed with caution.

Yelp
My wife and I have been ordering from here for a long time. They actually won our business from Ynot Pizza. The last few times we've ordered the food has been subpar. Last night, we decided to spend out hard earned money again and placed an order for pickup. We always order the same thing Baked Ziti (13.99). Last nights experience will be our last time ordering from Atlas. The Baked Ziti was chalky, dry, and tasteless (see pictures). We been noticing a decline in the quality for a while, but this was awful. Also order a side of sausage and meatball. The sausage was boiled which left it looking pale and it stunk. The meatball was extremely dry. It gives me no pleasure to type this review. I called them 45mins after picking it up to express my dissatisfaction, which fell on deaf ears. The person that took my call offered no solutions. Better put, seemed completely annoyed. It was probably on of the teenagers that work the counter. So long Atlas Pizza! I'll find another establishment to spend my money.

Yelp
Nothing special here. I was so hopeful considering how good it smelled. Bland crust, tomato sauce was non-existent and cheese was just ok. It was hot and freshly made though. The pepperoni was few. I've had better and won't spend $20 on an average at best pie. Nope.
google avatar

Lee B.

Yelp
$25.00 for a small meat lovers? Sorry. Not going to happen. Do you throw in cheesy bread?
google avatar

Steven L.

Yelp
Atlas messed up the pizza order and instead of offering to deliver the correct order, they wanted the mess up order back to throw out and had us bring them the pizza back
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Wow, ordered from Atlas for many years and always enjoyed the cheese steaks. Have been away for a year or so. Quality is in the tank. Food was disgusting. What the heck happened? Never again.
google avatar

Brad H.

Yelp
Great lunch place for pizza. Crust is thin (a good thing) and balance of toppings was stellar; the Deluxe slices ROCKED! Atlas is now in our regular rotation.
google avatar

Meredith H.

Yelp
Hands down worst food I have ever eaten smh!! The ranch was an absolute nightmare. The French fries soggy and chicken fingers burnt. $13+ dollars wasted :-(

Jennifer N.

Yelp
Amazing pizza and friendly staff. Only have dined in a few time and services is fine. Seat yourself get your on utensils from common table. Only get pizza as had other food items once and wasn't good. I always get delivery and it's great pizza!
google avatar

Megan H.

Yelp
Every single time I come here it is a great experience! The pizza is phenomenal (I've tried the cheese, pepperoni, deluxe, veggie, and white) none of their flavors disappoint! Their lunch specials are some of the best in Chesapeake! Such a great value! Atlas also makes some of the best hot wings I've had in Hampton Roads! They are seriously so good! On my last visit my table tried the meatball sub, mozzarella sticks, and garlic knots. The mozzarella sticks stole the show! They were so crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside! I'm not typically a fan of Mozzarella sticks, but I would eat these time and time again!
google avatar

Joanna M.

Yelp
Their new hours as per update on Google a week ago (I found after much searching and arriving to a closed business) are 4-9pm on Sunday. Facebook, their website, and their door still say 11am opening. I will update my rating if we get a chance to try the food...
google avatar

Sherry G.

Yelp
I was just outside their business and noticed the neither the staff serving the food, or the customer inside, was wearing a mask. If you're good with that. Great! If you're playing it safe, I don't recommend.
google avatar

Pau G.

Yelp
This is excellent pizza. Thin crust in the pie, nice thick crust on the edge. Soft and chewy. Great toppings Big pies at a decent price

Anna D.

Yelp
Love the supreme pizza so much, and I usually hate supreme pizza. This place makes me crave it! Super friendly staff and always on time.
google avatar

L M.

Yelp
Stromboli not so much, took several bites and threw the rest away. Pizza not good for reheating. This place used to be good several years ago but now not worth it

H B.

Yelp
Always enjoy their food whether it's a pizza, calzone, or Stromboli. Although, my favorite is heir white pizzas! Atlas has a great value lunch menu even on Saturdays! You can't beat a slice of pizza, a generous portion of salad, and a drink for $6.99 or 2 huge slices of pizza and a drink for $5.00!I believe that they offer the lunch specials until 4 pm.

Laura O.

Yelp
We go to Atlas often because my fiancée loves the stromboli. The pizza is a thinner crust but is a nice large slice so I can eat on a budget with that. I will say that people are often waiting for pick up orders so I would imagine if you do pick up they take longer than you ask. We have always eaten there and since they get salads out so quickly we don't notice. 4 stars just because it's not the best pizza ever but it's still worth a visit if you need something on a budget. You do have to bus yourself as well so you can take that into consideration.

Yelp
After having the experience real New York Pizza, it was so hard for me to find good pizza at home. Thank goodness Atlas Pizza is in the shopping center right next to my house! I've been coming to this place for years and have never been disappointed. Their take-out service is great because they have your name and phone number listed in their computer system so you can easily place an order over the phone. It usually only takes them 20 minutes, and my order is always ready when I come pick it up. When I dine in, the waitresses are all super nice. The owners love their customers as well, and I'm so thankful they keep on making amazing food. There are always dine-in lunch and dinner specials on the wall in the restaurant. $5.50 for a slice of pizza, salad and a drink? I'll take it! My favorite pizzas from them are the meat lovers and margarita pizza. Tip: let the meat lovers cool down a bit or else it will be very messy! I love their hot wings and garlic knots as well. Their meatball sub is very juicy and tastes so good! All of their ingredients are so fresh, especially their cheese. I love Atlas pizza so much. It's a definite must-try for all pizza lovers!
google avatar

Carrie E.

Yelp
Best pizza ever! The service ever. Jesse is the best driver and the owner Mo is the best in town. You won't be disappointed with this pizza! Get you some!!!!
google avatar

Joe D.

Yelp
As promised I went back and had that Cheesesteak sandwich this week. However it wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be. For the price it was a decent meal. The cheesesteak was large and filled with meat & onions. However the meat was the problem. It tasted like it had been made with Steakum's instead of the traditional sliced rib eye. Also there wasn't enough cheese on it. Maybe two small slices of provolone. So it was ok, but ultimately a let down. It just goes to show ya, you CANNOT get a true cheesesteak outside of Philly. ;) As always the service was excellent, and I really like the pizza here. They're worth checking out.

Yelp
This place is pretty good, the pizza is New York style. I ordered from them this past weekend and they delivered my pizza in about 25 minutes. I also got an italian sub. I ordered a pepperoni, mushroom and extra cheese 16" pizza and an italian sub with extra meat. The pizzas crust is pretty good, nothing truly exceptional though and I'm not sure it tasted made that day (they say they make the crust each day). They didn't put quite enough cheese on it for my taste for actually paying for extra cheese so be aware if you're a cheese lover to ask for extra or you will be disappointed. The pepperoni's were the best part of the pizza I believe. The sauce was pretty good too, pretty sweet and it reminded me of one of my favorite pizza places. If you don't like sweet pizza sauce then you will want to reconsider ordering pizza here. The italian sub was really good, but as you can see from my picture there is no real need to order extra meat. I am not complaining at all here, just informing, because I love a ridiculous amount of meat on my subs but even this was almost a bit too much for me. The sub also had a quite bit of tasty cheese on it and overall was really good, probably a bit better than the pizza. I particularly liked the bread on the sub. All in all this place would get a 3 1/2 stars if I could give that rating. I feel a 3 star is perhaps shortchanging them a bit but I'm not sure if the pizza quite earns 4 stars. All in all though you won't find a bad meal here and they do deliver so I will, at some point, probably order from them again in the near future. Next time I'll probably try the wings too.. P.S. The pizza re-heats the next day incredibly well...I almost think it was maybe even better the next day...and it's really good cold too.
google avatar

Kristie B.

Yelp
Atlas has some pretty solid NY style pizza (I'd like to be able to give it 3-1/2 stars). Ingredients always seem to be fresh - a big plus in my book. The hubs and I tried the garlic knots for the first time last week. They were good, but I could've use a little more garlic. I can ALWAYS go for more garlic though. Even though it's not the absolute best pizza in Hampton Roads, it's close to home so it's a good choice on those nights you decide ya just don't feel like cooking. Delivery is pretty fast and pick up is never out of the question.
google avatar

Michaela D.

Yelp
Came in for lunch on a Friday and it was all average, even though I've been going here infrequently for years and know they have great pizza. Our waitress was very friendly but relatively inattentive. My dad & I each got a lunch special which included garlic bread and a drink. We each added a side salad for $3 which was the best part of the meal by far. We were impressed by the size and variety of toppings (listed in photo caption). My baked ziti lacked flavor in my opinion, I added quite a bit of salt and pepper. There was not enough sauce compared to the amount of cheese. I also found a small hair in my pasta. My dad said his spaghetti was good but wished he had more sauce. We paid $20 for everything so the price was good.
google avatar

Angelina C.

Yelp
Overall, this place lacked everything except service. Our server was very nice. We went on a Friday night at about 8. The place was full but the rush had ended. The pizza review: The crust was cooked perfectly but lacked flavor. The sauce was sweet and tasted junior high. The cheese was cheese. The "extra" pepperoni and pineapple were few and meh. Overall, the pizza was lackluster. For $35 I expected more. One of the best things about pizza is eating it the next morning. FAIL. It seems like the place buys in bulk and is not sure how to pass this on to the consumer. Posted is a picture of the cheese, garlic and pepper shakers. They do take credit cards which is an update from the cash and check only policy. Welcome to the 21st century.
google avatar

James L.

Yelp
The pizza tasted pretty good, but the restaurant smelled like cleaner. I suppose that is. Better than smelling like some other things, but my eyes burned. It looks like the place does a big take out business. Considering the smell, I think we would do takeout in the future.

Brianna C.

Yelp
I tried calling the business 3 times during my lunch break at work so I could quickly do a pick up order but no one answered the phone. I then had to do a pick up order through a third party app that adds on extra unnecessary fees. I used grub hub for a third party app which was a pain because they didn't have an option for pepperoni pizza by the slice. I had to do cheese and add the pepperoni as an add on. Since they took forever to accept my order I had to send my step father to pick it up since my break was over. They told him they couldn't find my order so I had my step father read them the order number and the employee said to him " why didn't you say it was grubhub". When I finally got my pizza I saw that they messed up my order.. their pizza is usually good and I used to love them but this made me not want to come back anymore. Especially because I couldn't even get in contact with them to tell them they messed up my order.
google avatar

Carla R.

Yelp
We ordered from Atlas last nigh. It was a long process just to order an we went over the order 3 times to make sure it was correct. When the order came two of the subs were completely wrong. I called to advise an either request a credit or refund. The owner was only willing to refund half price of one of the subs. The customer service was poor. And his attitude was even worse. Last time ordering from this establishment.
google avatar

Kathy J.

Yelp
Went there for lunch today, it took 30 min to get my drink. I ask for unsweetened tea no lemon, she brings sweet tea w/ lemon. After 50 min I went and ask about my order, I was told just a few more min. The guy handed me a half of sub. I ordered a whole sub. I was so upset about the whole experience, I just left. If you get 30 min to an hour for lunch, this is not the place to go!

DeAngelo D.

Yelp
Highly disappointed in what was one of my favorite places to eat. A slice of pizza was ordered. It was overcooked/nearly burnt. My sister informed them, and they gave us another slice. This time, the slice was cold. So cold that when my sister turned it to the side, all of the sausage pieces rolled off and onto the plate! That's because the cheese wasn't melted. She then handed me the pepperoni slices. Yup, cold as well. It seems as if they picked up an extra slice they had lying around and threw cold meats on top of that cold slice. We were stunned at the apathy when they were informed. There is no way I would let a customer leave my restaurant dissatisfied like this. The saving grace was that the stromboli was good, as was the ziti. Unfortunately, that doesn't make up for the unappetizing pizza and their disinterest in customer satisfaction. I don't know if management has changed or somehow no longer care. Word will definitely get around about this unacceptable behavior. I have never had issues like this before. It really hurts to see a once-great eatery plummet in quality. Wish I had taken pics of this "pizza". Guess the moral of the story is to never order a single slice of pizza from Atlas. And I never will again.
google avatar

Summer H.

Yelp
I order from Atlas often. Usually a slice of pizza or spaghetti with Italian sausage. The food is always fresh and always delicious. Today I went for the meat lover's roll. It's very similar to a stromboli. It is so GOOD! The crust is perfectly crispy in the outside and chewy on the inside. It's jam packed with meat, cheese and just enough sauce. The portion is very generous.
google avatar

Alysia R.

Yelp
I found this place looking for a traditional NewYork style pizza and a good buffalo chicken cheese steak. I looked at the menu ahead of time and they looked to have a large selection of cheese steaks but no buffalo, having high hopes they could toss some sauce on per request. My experience here was far from friendly. The cashier - not friendly, she didn't care to ask anyone (cooks) about adding the buffalo sauce. - again wasn't on the menu so I can't get too upset. However kindness or personable gets a C minus.
google avatar

Corey M.

Yelp
Great food !!! My co worker took me here told me it's been there favorite local spot for a long time and I see why . They got a huge Italian menu at a great price. I love lasagna and there's was amazing so of the best I had and the price was great for lunch . I'm here at least once a week lol.
google avatar

Reuben G.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the pizza. Staff is super nice. The menu and decor resemble 1980 but dont let that deter you. Its old school good.
google avatar

Lindsay L.

Yelp
Love the steak and cheese here. The fries are awesome as well. It's a go to for lunch during the workday. I'll keep coming back! The wait time is almost always shorter than they say. Can't wait to try other things on the menu.

David J.

Yelp
GARBAGE! Worst customer service ever! Service so bad I refused to pick up my delivery order.... Yes I said that right. They wanted me to pick up my delivery order after waiting 80 minutes and finally calling to see where it was. This place can close up and we all would be better off
google avatar

Caleb D.

Yelp
Pizza here is great. I haven't sat in to eat yet, but it looks like a good place to come with the family and eat in. I order from here on our family pizza nights and I haven't had an issue yet.
google avatar

James M.

Yelp
The experience wasn't all that great. The restaurant itself looked a bit run down in comparison to other places like YNot. So if you're looking for a quality family experience, I'd pass, but if you can accept a more McDonald's like interior, you should be fine. The food was a similar story. It was acceptable. I had a slice of cheese pizza. Overall, though, it was just "meh".

Yelp
We found this place out of dumb luck...seriously. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful over the phone. We ordered ahead of time and dined in. Very attentive waitress. Great pizza! Exactly how a pizza should taste. The slices were real slices! Not the little dinky things from the national chains give ya. Very impressed...Will go there again! They close at 11pm on Fridays.

Andrea O.

Yelp
Super fast!!! Shout out to the staff working this evening. I ordered 2 cheesesteak sandwiches and an order of fries for delivery. I called at 9:03pm and was told it would take about 45 minutes. I received my food at 9:23pm (only a 20 minute wait) it was hot and fresh. Speedy service and delicious food! I highly recommend.

Michelle P.

Yelp
The frontline workers need to be in compliance with hand washing. It only take a few minutes. Unbelievable to watch..

Yelp
Now I remember why I don"t go to this establishment. I have been a resident of this area for over 25 years and remember when this place was opened. They were very good at first but started going down. The place was not packed so I thought I would be in and out. It took them 20 mins from the time of my order, to receiving my Steak and Pep sub. I should have know something was not right when the young blond lady only opened the container of my sub about an inch or two. After I got home I relived the sub was kind of small and not very much meat. Okay folks, my 12 inch sub was 10 inches. I called back and was told that the sub bun will shrink when toasted. I will say they offered to remake the sub but I declined. All I can say is WAWA is about 100 yards away.
