Google
It was food. It was fine. Solidly fine. This place won't blow your mind but we had nothing to complain about. We ordered online at 8am on a Saturday and then we ate in the shop. Our food and drinks were ready and waiting when we got there, about 25 minutes after ordering. At 8:30am on Saturday, there were plenty of places to sit. The space is large, airy, and sunny. My partner had a coffee and a sandwich (I forget the name but it had egg and spinach), both of which he enjoyed. I had a black tea and a cucumber and tomato sandwich. The tea was nothing special, nor was my sandwich, but both were edible and fine. As we say in my family when it's just...fine...and someone asks how your meal was, "It was food." So maybe the place deserves 3 stars for being just *fine* but I feel bad giving three stars when I have no complaints.

Google
This place has a lot of energy. It feels like spring is near. There are fresh smells in the air. You can hear people talking happily. The food is very good. They also have food that is healthy. The healthy food tastes good too. The decorations are not fancy. But they make you feel welcome. It's a nice place to spend time have a bite

Google
I’m a coffee lover, and the coffee was good. I can also listen to any kind of music and enjoy all genres. This place was over-the-top when it comes to enjoying a good cup without being disturbed by not so good, too high in volume, heavy metal type music. And I enjoy heavy metal. But the volume is loud and the employees are yelling at each other so if you’re thinking of coming here to have a conversation…think twice…it is not an atmosphere to have an enjoyable experience.

James F.

Google
Very nice people, ok coffee, terrible food. Breakfast sandwiches were a real disappointment, looked great, but the egg had been pre-made and had come out of the fridge, it was cold. Avacado toast had salmon mixed in with it.

Tadeu A.

Google
The culinary offerings are superb, complemented exquisitely by the exceptional coffee. A minor mishap with my sandwich occurred, yet it was rectified with commendable swiftness by the attentive kitchen staff. The ambiance radiates a welcoming warmth, enhanced by the vibrant, eclectic decor that captivates and charms, providing a perfect canvas for leisurely dining or a delightful coffee experience.

Google
i am a beverly native and have been going to atomic for as long as i can remember. what used to be a cozy coffee shop across the street from its current location has become a loud, slow cafe that prioritizes online orders over foot traffic in the actual cafe. the coffee is fine, as is the food, but it seems like they’re understaffed and unwilling to either close online orders or make other adjustments to ensure they’re able to get orders out to customers in a reasonable time. today it took upward of half an hour to get a salad, which feels reasonable for a sit down restaurant but a little absurd for a coffee shop, especially as half a dozen online orders went out to customers in the same time frame. i’m happy they’re getting so much business, but it seems like management could make some changes to ensure customers are served in an appropriate time window.

Erin C.

Google
Busy loud and depending on the time and day you go it can like a panic attack waiting to happen in there! It was just a mistake but I called ahead so I didn't have to wait in the long line.... because of some sorta miscommunication and a misplaced food ticket I ended up waiting over 45 mins for 2 egg sandwichs....the woman at the counter felt bad and gave me 2 free doughnuts but for what I planned to be a quick trip that ended up taking almost an hour and a half on a Sunday morning it was a little frustrating but just an isolated incident I think. Food good coffee ok pretty pricey but every once in a while Its a good place to go to

Simon E.

Google
Coffee is always unbearably mid and too sweet. Donuts and focaccia are verryyy solid though. I also don’t like that booths are reserved for 2 or more people, even though I understand why they had to do that.
google avatar

Linda G.

Yelp
Been a year and I go here often, so thought I would update this. I have a new favorite breakfast which is the cucumber/veggie sandwich and I get it on everything bagel with cheese added. So good. But let's talk about their coffee. Beverly has so many great coffee places and they are all good. Atomic is one of my top two places. Coffee is smooth, and consistently tastes the same which I admire. The wait staff is great. My pet peeve, is that they have all these signs that say that the booths are saved for 2 people or more, and there are often booths with just one person working. Yes, some are waiting for someone, but many are not. Just frustrating cause when it is busy and I want a booth for me and my friends, I want a booth. Ok I'm done. Best sit and gather coffee place in the city. And surrounding cities.

Yelp
I got a green smoothie bowl and it was out of this world! So delicious and pretty too! The coffee is great as well. It has a hip atmosphere with plenty of seating and a good sized menu.
google avatar

Joseph S.

Yelp
It's almost perfect, is the best way I can put it. And clearly way better than most coffee shops ! I had an iced coffee which had a great taste and really strong. A grilled cheese which was tasty as well.
google avatar

Laura R.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast sandwiches and lovely donuts!! There's a bit of a wait but you can tuck into your donut while you wait.
google avatar

Aya R.

Yelp
I went to Atomic Cafe to buy a bag of atomic coffee. I think it is more expensive here, as I have seen it elsewhere for about $12 and here it was $15.50 :/ On the bright side, they ground it for me, ready for my espresso machine. Seems like a nice cafe to work in. The atomic coffee is really delicious!

R B.

Yelp
tea was weak, no flavor mocha was requested to be decaf, yet was caffeinated not cool the guy that took the order was not at the register to remedy the problem, so others must have made this drink because the register guy was on break the second we finished ordering $30 for sandwich and 2 drinks plus a water hard chairs restroom was fine would rather go to a smaller place with a bit more ambiance this place is very industrial parking is by the meter
google avatar

Ernest S.

Yelp
Strange and unusual little café I used to have coffee and snacks today all the time when I was in Beverly, it's easily accessed. The people are very friendly and helpful. Grab a cup of coffee shit by the window and people watch.
google avatar

Kathleen W.

Yelp
This is such a cute cafe! It's a bit pricey for the coffee/ teas for the size you get. The latte was very good as was the hibiscus refresher. The turkey and Brie panini was excellent just a bit sweet with the honey mustard. It's a little hard to hear when they call your name to pick up food/ drinks when the cafe is busy.

K C.

Yelp
While the food is good, it certainly not worth the price. It cost over $10 for a BLT and you legit one piece of lettuce, three tomatoes and maybe four pieces of bacon on the whole sandwich (if you get it on white, they give you a thin slice of ciabatta bread. )And while I understand, companies need to make money this is not the way you keep your customers happy. It's really too bad because it's a good sandwich. Just not worth the money.

Dave H.

Yelp
$6.42 for a cortado and they didn't even bother to give me a real cup. I've never paid more than $5 and a lot of places still charge $3.50. Also, as mentioned frequently in other reviews, the employees are rude. Not going back.

Emmy H.

Yelp
Super great chai! great breakfast! Lunch sandwiches and bowls are good too. The servers are always nice and helpful.

Yelp
Atomic Cafe is one of the better cafés in the Boston area. I remember when they were a small shop across the street from their current, larger space, and I love that they've grown so much. Especially when you remember where they started. Their coffee and food are higher quality, their staff is always amazing, and their prices are a little on the higher side (similar to Starbucks but better quality). This is a great spot to grab a latte & lunch, and chat with friends or study for a couple hours. It's pretty busy every time I've come in, whether morning or afternoon, so grab a seat if you can. I am the biggest fan of lemon poppyseed anything, and it's so hard to find! Their lemon poppyseed cake was delicious, and I've had their Quirky Turkey and Turkey Panini sandwiches made cold, and I recommend them. I love their Dirty Hot Chocolate and Chai Lattes, including Iced Mocha Chai, but I recently tried their Earl Gray Tea Latte (my favorite) and it wasn't the best I've had. They've also recently opened a juice bar in the back left side of the café, Atomic Juicery. I haven't tried them yet, but I love that the community is providing healthier choices. Between Atomic Cafe and Soma, I feel like Beverly is the Twilight Zone more and more. Ambience: 5/5 Food & Drinks: 4.5/5 Cost: 3.5/5 Service: 5/5 Atomic Cafe: 4.5/5

Yelp
I am in town to see a show at the cabin today. So we met him down there and we had some coffees and beverages and the service was fantastic. Melissa did a great job. She was the one that waited on us and took care of us so I wanted to do a big shout out for her and her great customer service. Scott and Cody had a blast. We enjoyed ourselves here. In fact we stayed later Scott had to return to work so Cody and I stayed here for dinner. If you are in Beverly, this is a good spot to stop, get some pastry or a sandwich or a soup. Just a get a cool beverage and relax
google avatar

Gregory J.

Yelp
I've been to just about every coffee shop in Beverly and still find Atomic to be one of the best, fastest and cheapest options around. I typically get an iced caramel latte and glazed donut! Who doesn't love a little glaze in the morning! 5 out of 5 stars!

Noah B.

Yelp
This place works best as a work/study space, but the coffee and food come off as overpriced and the service is spotty to mediocre.
google avatar

Anna S.

Yelp
I know this is a very popular spot, but for whatever reason, it isn't mine. It's nothing in particular, and truly can't put my finger on it, but I just don't love it. I prefer Kaffmandu, but I know many people are big fans‍

Charlotte S.

Yelp
I'm not usually one to write reviews, but i feel as though this needs to be said. everyone loves atomic and it is a community favorite. i think their food is very good, but the wait times are excrutiating for a sandwich. almost always 30+ minutes. additionally, the staff is consistently SUPER RUDE. never acknowledge me, always feel like i am intruding. it has gotten to a point where i needed to share and i feel others have had a similar experience .
google avatar

Yelp
Food: 1/5 inedible stale bread, but cranberry chicken salad was okay. Sadly our other meal was also subpar Coffee: 1/5 atomic cafe has nice coffee beans, but the drip was over brewed and bitter. And could not salvage the beans. Service 1/5, forty-five min for a precooked meal. Several workers behind counter but only 1 doing food prep without help Ambiance: 2/5 plenty of seating space, but not good food quality for wait, or grab and go Price: $$ price is doable, but quality of food does not match cost.

Luke M.

Yelp
I got a pb protein shake and first of all, it was 10 dollars which is not that expensive, but the shake doesn't really have that strong of a peanut flavor and it doesn't taste like it has peanut butter in it do the flavor is only from the protein powder, now it did not have an overwhelming taste of banana even though it had banana in it which is good. I don't dislike the shake but i am disappointed in the overall flavor of the shake.

Yelp
I wanted to try this place because it was an easy walk away from my stay at the Cabot Lodge. Im not sure what was better my latte or the atmosphere! The staff was very friendly and the service was quick. The barista even made a cute little design on my latte. The ratio to espresso and milk with foam was perfect. The taste was amazing. One of the best lattes I've had. If you're in the area I would recommend dropping in for a hot or cold beverage.
google avatar

Brianna R.

Yelp
Got a caramel latte and a bacon egg and cheese on a sesame bagel. So good! Also got a bag of whole bean coffee because so many shops around Salem serve it and it's locally roasted. WILL be a go to spot since I still have to try their pastries.

Drew B.

Yelp
The house brew drip was very smooth. Reasonable pricing and quick service. A great place with modern vibes and plenty of natural light.
google avatar

Kelly R.

Yelp
Huge caveat: I was a frequent (as in daily) patron of the Atomic Cafe, 20 years ago, as a local college student. Back then, the draw to the Atomic was that it was a small local coffee shop, with limited seating, where students were welcome to come study. It was an "odd shop" of sorts. The entire theme was retro 50s - they had one small seating area furnished with mid century modern furniture set up as if it were a living room. Super cool and kitschy! Everyone knew each other, meaning the students and the baristas knew each other by name and dare I say...would even know the details of each other's lives lol. There was also a small bakery display case with a limited assortment of homemade pastries and baked goods that the staff clearly had made each morning, because the offerings would change daily and the case would be nearly empty halfway through the day. I'm a recent career changer and thought it might be nostalgic to visit my favorite study spot. What an enormous mistake on my part! I wasn't prepared for how drastically it had changed. Now, I'm not unreasonable; 20 years out, yes I'd expect this cafe to expand and kudos to small businesses expanding. But sadly the Atomic is now just a supercharged Starbucks. The interior looks like a Starbucks, the bakery...same... the clientele...its just sad.
google avatar

Krystal V.

Yelp
It's a great atmosphere but the coffee was just okay and I ordered a tuna melt that was beyooooooond lack luster. I'd go again to try something else (plus solid study spot) because I'm sure they have better food, but for now it's average.
google avatar

Courtney F.

Yelp
We have had our eye on Atomic Cafe for months now, and finally made the trip to go check it out! Let me just say, I wish we went sooner. This is a new FAVORITE! They have quite possibly the best coffee in Massachusetts. If you're into that delicious roasty toasty flavor - Atomic will be your jam. We loved it so much that we bought a ton of coffee and cans to go! They offer handcrafted drinks and food, and plenty of options of beans to take home with you (they will even grind it on site for you if you ask!). Definitely be sure to grab one of the cold brew cans to go - they are really cool and different from anything I've tried. You will be hooked in no time, just like me!
google avatar

Jenny C.

Yelp
Love this stop. Got an egg and cheese on an English muffin and stopped by the Juicery to get a mean greens juice! Truly an old reliable and always a great stop.
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
LOVE Atomic cafe. The only place I've found around that does a lighter roast and it consistently tastes great. The staff are all also extremely nice and welcoming! I've been lucky enough to almost always get a window seat when I come by to study.
google avatar

Jill C. J.

Yelp
I love this place. I come whenever I'm in Beverly. And they just made me an excellent dry cappuccino.
google avatar

Logan D.

Yelp
~5pm on a Friday, few other patrons in the seating area but no line. Pros: -Spacious, modern atmosphere -Nice staff Cons: -Need to get there early for fresh donuts and more selection -Street parking -- Glazed donut ($1.87) There was a lone glazed donut left at 5pm on a Friday among a few jelly filled. It was decently sized and only slightly sweet. Unfortunately it was a bit stale given how late in the day it was.

Austin B.

Yelp
My favorite coffee shop in town. The coffee is great, a wide variety of plant based milks helps. I definitely recommend the quirky turkey if you are stopping for food. If you have a date here you can get your coffees to go and explore the connected bookstore.
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
This was a pretty neat place! It's incredibly spacious on the inside and is strategically located in downtown Beverly. Apparently, you can even order online and pick up your order. They ran out of the chai, which was unfortunate because I really wanted to try their mocha chai. I ordered a hot chocolate Joppa Flat to go and it came to slightly over $10. They had really friendly service. The hot chocolate was pretty good- not too sweet- and the Joppa Flat was decent. This would definitely be a good place to grab a brunch and dine in- the ambiance is perfect for both studying and for going out with friends.
google avatar

Rosie Q.

Yelp
What a fresh approach to a cafe and bar combination. Spacious rustic cafe with industrial interior designs that's more on the subtle side giving a more cozier vibe. Rotating taps, fresh brewed coffee/tea, and a food menu that's not overwhelming with items that seems like they would complement whichever glass or mug you go with. My kind of place. Mocha Chai- Love this! I was in need of caffeine from the tea and it also hit my sweet tooth with the chocolate. Grilled Cheese- I picked Focaccia Bread which I wouldn't pick that specific bread again but the cheddar cheese was great with bacon and tomatoes (additional charges). Overall Service: The folks behind the counter were pleasant. You don't really interact with anyone else after they call your name for your order because you do end up having to put away your own plates and mugs in their designated bins when you're done if you plan on hanging out here. The grilled cheese did take a bit too long but luckily I had a huge mug of chai to keep me occupied while I waited.
google avatar

Mark T.

Yelp
Oh Atomic, I wanted so much to add you to my list of favorite cafés. Unfortunately, you didn't make the cut. I wanted to try out for quite a bit of time, because well, the name was cool! But the products while good, aren't quite as awesome as the name. I ordered a macchiato, which is a shot of espresso with a little bit of foam (and not a very large sweet drink) and a Joppa Flat breakfast sandwich. The macchiato was good, it had a good bitterness and a little acidity. It was a little too acidic for my taste, but not by much. I do wish however that these came in sizes larger than one shot of espresso. The breakfast sandwich, however, was pretty disappointing. It was a flatbread in which was egg cheese bacon and tomato. Unfortunately, despite the tomato's presence, it was still very dry and underseasoned. I went looking for a pepper shaker, and I found one for the entire café. The ingredients were balanced, but because of the dryness, the flavors just didn't work together very well. I could taste them individually, but they didn't come together. Three small changes would make this sandwich much more awesome! First the very small amount of ketchup on the inside of the flatbread. Second, a very slightly runny egg. Third, having to cheese be melty and gooey. I also ordered a nitro cold brew coffee, and a glazed donut. The nitro cold brew coffee, unfortunately, did not live up to expectations. I found while it had that pleasant bitterness, it had an extremely high level of acidity that took away from the otherwise pleasant taste. I do however give them points for not putting any ice in there, it is nice to pay for 12 ounces of coffee and get 12 ounces of coffee, instead of having half weight taken up with water ice. The most pleasant thing I have had here though is the donut! It was very nice the glaze gave it just the right amount of sugary crisp, not nearly as much as Krispy Kreme, but still very pleasant. In fact, if you have to compare these to Krispy Kreme I like these ones better! In addition to the sugar, The dough itself was quite pleasant, it was light, airy, not buttery or oily, and not sweet (glaze added all the sweetness the donut needed).

Jacqueline M.

Yelp
Cute space and lots of seating. Coffee is very expensive though, and the flavor of it and my friend's drink were both not good for a standard caramel and chai latte, so just not worth it. Forgot to mention a size and they defaulted to the largest size without asking for a drink I didn't enjoy anyways. I'd recommend looking elsewhere for cheaper and better tasting options.

Stephanie E.

Yelp
Tasty food and cool environment. We went on a Saturday early afternoon and it was busy. All the seats were taken and it took about 15 minutes for us to get a panini and bowl. Worth the wait if you have the time.

Mr T.

Yelp
only go on your day off ..... food is good but not worth the 27 minute wait for a bacon, egg and cheese bagel. There's other options on Cabot Street.
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Good drinks but stay away from the breakfast bowl. It is basically a small salad with egg on top, no sauce or dressing. For $8 it is too small and has no flavor. The only saving grace was the cholula that I doused it in. I've heard the breakfast sandwiches are good. Maybe next time I'll try that but this was disappointing.
google avatar

Melody C.

Yelp
Love the coffee HATE the stinginess of the manager! Trying to watch nutrition asked for cucumbers instead of potato chips. (Which not only had a NICE employee did on a previous day but did today for someone! She said that woman is "special"... GAH. So all customers are not equal folks! Be forwarned! PEOPLE OVER POLICY PLEASE! A few slices of cucumber is "not cost effective for us" GAH! Some employees are sweet. But helpless because of the stupid stingy policies. Is it really worth it to spread ill will? Maybe they think newcomers business doesn't matter. Charge 25 cents to sub or something! GIVE YOUR $#!@ customers what they want!

Robin H.

Yelp
I used to love coming to Atomic Cafe before Pandemic. Friendly staff and good ambiance. The coffee is good but the staff acts like that they hate their jobs. Never smiling, and rude. Do you hate your job so much that you can't be nice to customers. Only a few bad apples but that is all it takes.
google avatar

Katherine C.

Yelp
10/10 suggest going for coffee! Or going to portray the "mysterious woman in the corner reading a book" vibe.
google avatar

Emma B.

Yelp
I have been going to Atomic cafe since I was in High School when it was a small retro shop directly across the street from where it is today on Cabot Street. This coffee shop is a staple to the community, they have everything you are craving, muffins, sandwiches, great cappuccinos in large cups for you to sip and savor. It's a great spot to sit and chat with an old friend to catch up, meet someone for a casual date, have a small meeting. They serve alcohol which is a plus when you're in the mood. The place is generally pretty busy which is a good thing but sometimes it can difficult to grab a table or seat. You can get coffee beans to go so you can brew yummy caffeine at home and they have artwork of local artists up on the wall for sale which I appreciate being an artist myself. The sandwiches aren't cheap but are just as filling if you split one. I recommend calling ahead if you are in a rush, as sometimes they tend to be on the slower side. But I found that if you mention you're in a rush they will help you get on your way faster. Its a friendly atmosphere and the staff is very friendly which I greatly appreciate. I will be back and love to bring people visiting Beverly here :)

Yelp
My husband and I just popped into this super cute full service cafe for breakfast. It was just a few minutes after they "stopped serving breakfast". I'm 9 months pregnant, and REALLY wanted a bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel. I asked the barista to pull a favor in the kitchen, and yes I pulled the pregnancy card...and those angels said "yes". Not only was the sandwich delicious, filling, and the bagel perfectly toasted, but they made my husband one too! Very much appreciated after 2 1/2 hours at the hospital for some routine appointments. Thank you so much! Ps the latte and coffee were full bodied and perfectly brewed.

Christopher H.

Yelp
Oh man. I had a local friend bring me here when I asked to go to a cute coffee shop with quality coffee, and this was perfect. We were there for a bit, during which I had two iced coffees - the first being a chocolate foam cold brew and the second being an iced peanut butter latte. Both were absolutely delicious, with their wonderful coffee taking center stage and not being overshadowed by the other flavors. I also had their chicken bacon ranch wrap for lunch that day, which was fresh, tasty, and filling! I love local spots like this that just get it right. They even sell their own cold brew in cans to go, so I grabbed the trifecta - one cold brew, one nitro cold brew, and one CBD-infused cold brew. I haven't tried the CBD one yet, but the other two were absolutely delicious and just how I like them - FULL of caffeine. (380 mg per can!) I go to the Boston area a few times a year, so I'll definitely be back here.

Richard A.

Yelp
great staff always! awesome sandwiches and has been a local treasure for years Love their chai lattes and cold brew!
google avatar

John T.

Yelp
I love the space. Really large area for a coffee place. I got a breakfast sandwich and coffee. I loved the coffee. Breakfast sandwich didn't have much flavor. I had to put salt & pepper on it when I got home. Friendly quick staff with lots to choose from. Big selection of lunch sandwiches I will try next. And they have beer and wine!
google avatar

Jesse H.

Yelp
I ordered through Seamless delivery. The food arrived fine and wrapped well. I got a cold brew coffee, a turkey and bacon wrap and an avocado toast wrap. My first time ordering from there and I would order from them again. The food was good and the coffee was better than anything I've had before.
google avatar

Jenny P.

Yelp
Very spacious cafe with lots of tables and seating available, which is a huge plus for any cafe. I typically get a latte for a first time visit, but I ventured out and tried the iced mocha. It was the perfect level of sweetness, which is hard to achieve, so four stars for them! My husband got the hot mocha latte, and our friend got a hot tea. Both of the hot drinks were good, too. I also appreciated the bathroom situation also - two individual full bathrooms, not stalls. I worried about a line forming, but that never happened during the 1.5 hours I was there.

Rebecca M.

Yelp
Placed my order online for pickup. After I got home, I discovered my order was incomplete. I called to request a refund of that item but the manager said they couldn't process any refund because the order was placed online. Lesson learned... not happy with the service and will not be back.
google avatar

Charlotte M.

Yelp
What an amazing latte I had today! Yum! It was so smooth tasting. Nothing bitter about this latte. The Barista was awesome! Not only did it taste fabulous it looked great too! The foam on top was crazy perfect! Highly recommend this place. Also had a slice of the lemon poppyseed coffee cake. Extremely moist. The lemon flavor was spot on! Hope all of my future experiences here are just as great as this one!
