This is one of our favorite New Mexican restaurants of all time! The food is excellent and they make great efforts to source much of their ingredients locally. The service has always been above average.

Lala Rose

Google
The space is a little tight but it’s a very home type of feel! The wait was a little long but it was understandable why so many people wanted to eat here at the same time as we were here the food was amazing!!! I had the green chile stew, it was delicious and came with a tortilla my family all got stuffed sopapillas one red and one green (pictured below) but everything was great. Our waiter was super polite and helpful I wish I remembered his name.

Jhenna D Salas-Hernandez

Google
The Swirls here are amazing! The sopapillas are now wheat but very good. The fries were not what we were looking for. The salsa and chips is also a must try.

Jeremy Shreiner

Google
The food was amazing, the place was small and tables small but it all worked out. Would definitely go again. I loved the burrito Christmas style.

Anwei Chai

Google
Recommended by a former colleague for the New Mexican restaurant. Menudo soup was okay, nothing special. The burrito is smothered. We ordered the combination, ground beef and refried beans, though the one with roasted lamb is said to be the house special. We arrived around 2pm and there was still a 30 minute waiting time. So you can tell this place is quite popular. The service is virtually none, taking your order and giving you the check. There was nothing else in between.

Google
Our first time having New Mexican cuisine and liked it! I definitely recommend coming here and trying one of the dishes with chile as that’s what’s typical of this region. I had enchiladas with red chile and loved it. The portions are big, and the service is quick. Plus we got sopapillas with honey provided at the table. Delicious!

Google
Excellent NM food served by friendly people at a reasonable price. The lighter plate is just right for me. Even that generated leftovers. Absolutely LOVE their sopapillas! Will be back!

Google
Atriscos is always so good! Very good prices, great service, and never too long of a wait. This meal was excellent and hit the spot!

Yelp
Coming up from ABQ to go to Santa Fe Market this is one of a few places we stop for Breakfast. Filled with Locals. Doesn't that tell you something? Gabriel is one of favorite waiters and although we can't always sit in his section, he will always stop by and say Hello. Friendly, real food with local flavor. There is a bar if you want an alcoholic drink and their fried Mushrooms are the best! Don't let the fact it's in the mall fool you, you will be happy with the experience! Travelers and Locals - if you have gone there do it!

Yelp
Came to Santa Fe for my granddaughter's graduation. Came here afterwards to celebrate after the place we chose originally was packed. I'm glad they were, because this place was much better. I had the stuffed sopapila with lamb, and a strawberry margarita. Hubby had frito pie. It was delicious. Portions were generous. The service was great, the ambiance warm and friendly. Would definitely eat here again

Yelp
Yummy food. Go early to get a seat as they get busy. Authentic New Mexican cuisine, delicious!

Yelp
Anywhere else, this place would be 5*. Ok, I made 5*, but it just barely gets there. Food was very tasty. Just the right amount of heat, just a complement to the Chile flavors. Sopapillas were different; almost seemed like they were whole wheat. Not what I was used to, but perfect for sopping up the extra sauce. Margaritas were really to my liking. Service was good, not inspired. Adequate.

Bob S.

Yelp
Great green chile but the red is really as good as it gets. Earthy, flavorful stuff. Always busy. You know it's special when the place serves Northern NM lamb. Service is always good.

Yelp
Love it, food is amazing. Service was great, and can't wait to go back. It's a very friendly and welcoming place.

Yelp
Friends brought me here for some good ole' New Mexican favorites. Very casual place that normally (friends described) is busy enough to require a wait but thankfully we were seated right away. The menu was quite diverse but I wanted to stick with one of the local specialties, a stuffed Sopaipilla with Lamb and Christmas chili. I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but it turned out rather tasty. Basically the lamb is stuffed into a think pita-like bread (Don't shoot me) and smothered in cheese and red & green chili. I enjoyed it, but in hindsight I think lamb doesn't pair that well with chili. WOuld have been better to have carnitas, chicken, or beef. Service was pretty quick and overall good, though at times the waiter would hard to track down. Good value for the money, would come back.

Yelp
Came to Santa Fe to do some shopping, then required lunch Good stop for "introductory New Mexican " cuisine Had green chile stew and eggs, definitely on the milder side for green chile, not much seasoning but a good meal Frito pie and biscuits benedict were also enjoyed and given a thumbs up Easy mall location and some great stores, definitely worth spending time here

Yelp
Good Friday would not be the same without a stop at Atrisco's! Our meatless Lenten meal consisted of a bean burrito and cheese enchiladas. Salsa and chips to snack on while we waited for our entree. We sit at the bar where everyone is friendly and welcoming. Service is great and those sopapillas are a nice dessert with honey. No doubt we will be back.

Charles A.

Yelp
1st time here 1st time Christmas enchiladas All great!! Rice was good Had a flauta on the side,,, stuffed! Salsa and queso was great Great service Will be in town a few days, will be back!!!!

Yelp
Their green chile was great on my roast beef burrito, as was the excellent frozen margarita. Service is always great. Their sopapillas are always an added bonus.

Kiki M.

Yelp
Ate dinner at Atrisco in Santa Fe tonight. Disappointing. Had cheese enchiladas - the chile (red) was decent, but the beans and rice left a lot to be desired - super bland. The sopapillas were also bland and not puffy like a sopapilla should be. Green chile stew was fair, more tasty than the other items, but could use more ingredients - big chunks of potato and meat and that's all, and not very much meat, mostly potato. Needs improvement.
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
Always a solid NM choice. They have the swirl so you don't have to wait hours to get one elsewhere. I usually go with the Lite plate but the frito pie and the southwest chicken salad are all winners. Leave room for the sopapilla. They have serving food down to a science and it's consistent and quick. Sitting at the bar is always a good option for singles or couples.
google avatar

Johnny K.

Yelp
I got the lamb sopaipilla xmas since few places offer a lamb option. Instead of the meat being shredded or chunk it was sliced like deli style for a sandwich which was a bummer. The red and green were both spicy and delcious! I'd get the chicken next time and skip the lamb. Server was friendly and efficient.
google avatar

Eric A.

Yelp
Nice place. Customers were, including us, all in a good mood with the appropriate amount of staff attention. Food, burger and customized enchilada order, were excellent. Personal opinion, I got christmas chili, the green was better.
google avatar

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place- they were really busy, but the service was good. Welcoming and friendly. The food was bland- lacking seasoning and heat, the green chile stew needed cooked for much longer, the potatoes were just done, the meat chewy, the broth thin. The guac was just ok, the red and green chile both were kind of eh. Just a general lack of flavor. Disappointing.

Lili G.

Yelp
Real NM food . Local spot with excellent service, margaritas and Christmas Chile. My fav

Jackie L.

Yelp
Great restaurant to get a true taste of New Mexico cuisine. Knowledgeable staff that explained the dishes and ingredients. Dinner plate servings are generous so arrive with an appetite. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to try NM food.
google avatar

Allen G.

Yelp
Best menudo I have ever had. The Chile has a very great taste. Definitely recommend for the menudo fanatic!
google avatar

Martin H.

Yelp
Would be a 5 except they limited margaritas to 2 per person which is UnAmerican.... Seriously, who does that? The stuffed sopapilla was delicious,

Yelp
its a shame. i pass through santa fe all the time and made a b-line for atriscos tonight with my spouse before they closed. I've been talking them up for a while and have been coming here for years. we arrived at 8:20pm on a thurs night with plenty of time before closing at 9. guess what: "we are closed ....but the sign says 9pm. yeah tonight was slow. but we just want a margarita or 2 and will be out by 9. sorry. we are closed. 40 min early? yep. have a nice day." clearly this business feels they dont need yours or my business. sadly I have to recommend skipping this establishment for a restaurant that understands food service 101.
google avatar

Allen F.

Yelp
This is one happy space. Wonderful menus. Friendly staff. Helpful. Prompt service. Excellent local draft beer on top. The best ever Black Bean Soup which menu claims is mild. It is not mild. Green chili stew so so. Meat generous but not tender and the broth cannot compare to the black bean soup. Fantastic margaritas. Southwest chicken salad generous and filling. Will return!!
google avatar

Yelp
One more thing. The sopapillas are much better at Atriscos. If at La Choza pick the garlic toast instead. It's good. I always order the red cheese enchiladas anywhere I go and prefer the posole at La Choza rather than the Spanish rice you get at Atrisco's. The posole has a decent amount of pork and a nice touch of oregano. Most restaurants are stingy with the meat and just give you corn. Both restaurants are good but the red chile from La Choza is in my opinion much better and worth the wait. I have to admit that I mostly eat at Atrisco's because it's good food, convenient, and usually shorter wait times so I'm not being as critical as it might sound. Tomasita's, Tia Sophia's, and The Shed are also good and they don't put flour in their red chili (many restaurants do). I haven't been to these restaurants lately so I can't say anything more than they are also good. Lifelong Santa Fean

Yelp
We stopped it for a lunch boost. A half order of their nachos and a cup of green chile stew really hit the spot! Chile was flavorful and just the right level of heat. Now to continue shopping!

Yelp
The food and the drinks are always fantastic! Got the new st Patrick's day drink called Lucky Swirl, and it was amazing! Really cute and strong with little lucky charms marshmallows on top. Highly recommend this spot for locals and tourists alike, it's one of my go to's for years!

Yelp
Very pleasantly surprised with this restaurant! Some of the best Northern New Mexican food we have had in decades. Not fancy, but nice ambiance for a mall restaurant. I grew up in Albuquerque, and my wife grew up in Santa Fe, so we know all of the hot spots and tourist restaurants in town. This place is on par with the best of them. If you are looking for great NM food in Santa Fe but don't want to deal with tourists or tourist prices, this place should be first on your list. After 3 years of searching hard for a restaurant with tacos that can rival mine (Philomena's recipe - IYKYK), we finally found it! We also loved the chile rellenos, the enchiladas, and the sopapillas. Both the green and the red chile are great, but the red in particular is outstanding! Our new favorite casual restaurant in Santa Fe.

Lanalle S.

Yelp
We went for a Sunday breakfast and the food came out right away and the red chili was on point, nice and hot. We ate every single bite.

Cheryl I.

Yelp
Great authentic food and a very nice menu. We take our guests and friends to Atriscos. The locals love the place and are loyal customers as we are. The local chile is prepared in the traditional manner using New Mexican home grown product. Order the chile on the side if one is unsure about the heat.

Alma R.

Yelp
We stopped by on a road trip and wanted to try authentic New Mexican food. This place is basically a diner. The chile they are known for is good but nothing out of this world. Customer service was great though! Pretty busy restaurant with tourists

Matt N.

Yelp
Ordered takeout for lunch on their website. Selected 1:00 pickup time (ordered around noon) and arrived at 12:50 to pick it up. My order was sitting at the host stand. When I got home a few minutes later, I saw the kitchen receipt taped to the bag showed a time of 12:25, I assume meaning the kitchen filled the order at that time and my food sat at the host stand for 25 minutes before I picked it up. The food was lukewarm. The sopapilla was a sad, wilted version of its former self. If you are going to accept to-go orders and allow the customer to select a pickup time, you shouldn't have the order ready 35 minutes early and sitting at the host stand getting cold. The meal probably would have been good, if it was fresh and hot, but instead it was very average and disappointing.

Rebecca B.

Yelp
I was not disappointed in the service I received at Atrisco, which was attentive & friendly. I was, however, disappointed in my food and drinks. I ordered the AtrisCombo (taco, chile relleno with green chile, blue corn chicken enchilada with red chile, posole, beans) so I could sample different items, and found everything to be lacking in spice / heat and flavor, with the exception of the red chile, which had a really off-putting flavor. I tried two margaritas (house & Silver Coin), which were mainly ice and otherwise unnoteworthy. The atmosphere was pretty noisy, despite it being a Sunday evening.

Maggie L.

Yelp
Always love this place. Good hot fast food and friendly service. Always a winner and definitely recommend for lunch and or dinner.

R M R.

Yelp
We have been long term customers and recently ate there. The menu has changed from a great selection of quality Mexican food to more of a pub grub selection with a very limited Mexican selection We'll have to find somewhere else for our Mexican food
google avatar

Sondra S.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed Atrisco on our visit to Santa Fe. Both the green and red chili sauces were too hot for either of us, and we aren't total wimps. I got the waiter to bring me a side of their salsa instead, and that was perfect. Our fav was the Chicken Chalupas. A few days after we ate there, we went back for take out. Will go back!

Newart N.

Yelp
Nothing worse than a waitress knocking over your beer on to your lap and not offering an adequate remedy.
google avatar

Lynn D.

Yelp
Oh my the food & margaritas were so good here. They had a great waiting system where they text you when your table is ready. The bartender was extremely helpful with deciding what to order. We decided to eat at the bar instead of wait for a table. I would highly recommend and will be back when in town.

Yelp
Good food at a reasonable price. Not fancy. I often stop by weekends for breakfast but the entire menu is delicious. The burgers are also quiet good.

Mary Ann W.

Yelp
Food was amazing! My husband had burrito with Carne Vada and it was the best that he ever had! I had a veggie sopapillas and it was as sooooo good. My only complaint was the price of a liter of sangria! $32. Was crazy!!!

Tom S.

Yelp
Absolutely the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. We started with a half order of nachos, which was huge and had possibly the best tortilla chips that I've ever tasted. We moved onto our main chorus, which I got the sliced beef burrito and it was spectacular covered in green chili sauce was delicious. Totally recommend this place.
google avatar

Yelp
So good we came here twice, two days in a row for lunch. The Chile relleno is amazing. It's everything those who grew up in the southwest love and remember; crispy batter, long and tender Chile, stuffed with a molten white cheese and smothered with a delicious green sauce. Tacos are also very good. Looks like the locals all know this place as well. BTW, the frozen marg knocked my socks off. It's not made with an overly sweet mix, but the flavor of tequila shines through. Skip the shed and try Atrisco.

Yelp
Local. Good. Food. Easy going environment, easy going service with wonderful New Mexican dishes.

Yelp
I was visiting Santa Fe and I recently found out that the Bobcat Bite was closed down in Oct of 2018 (BOOO... it was on my foodie bucket list). I Googled around to find out where I should get a green chili cheeseburger - and this place came up as a contender. My husband got some kind of combo platter that he was not thrilled with. But my burger was DE-LIGHFUL!!! and the fries were hand cut. The burger was nice and tender and the bun a perfect light compliment. I would say it could have used more green chilies. But I was super happy with it!

David M.

Yelp
We are so fortunate to have a place only a few blocks from Atrisco's. Dining on a Monday afternoon we found the restaurant to be very busy. Despite most tables being full we were seated promptly. Our service was exceptional and our meals very good. The spousal unit ordered the Flautas and she was very pleased. I ordered the Monday special which is the Blue Plate with Chicos. The dish consists of a chicken tamale with green chile, a blue corn cheese enchilada with red chile, rice, and chicos 'n beans. Chicos being sweet corn which elevated a simple side of beans to something special. The rice was well above average. Often tamales are mostly masa with a scant bit of filling. My tamale had a very generous portion of chicken and the red and green chiles were delicious. Looking forward to a return visit.

Abbie S.

Yelp
Excellent service, every time, hands down. Delicious authentic New Mexican food consistently served. Thank goodness the food is not over seasoned with an overwhelming amount of garlic and respective to New Mexican cuisine, one will not find cumin and cilantro in the food (thank goodness). The wait time is typically 20-25 minutes for dinner, which I don't mind at all. A very quaint space, graced with wonderful staff. Management has always been professional, courteous, warm, and welcoming. The manager walks around the dining room floor to ensure patrons are enjoying a pleasant dining experience. The atmosphere is clean, comfortable, and thankfully there isn't any loud blaring music nor live music playing. The sights and sounds of patrons suit the ambiance perfectly, and allow the ability to carry on a conversation while dining. All of the staff work hard and take pride in the excellent service they provide. Atrisco has been a favorite place for years, and continues to deliver excellence. The only thing I'd change if possible, would be the whole wheat sopapillas, and option of flour or whole wheat would be nice. If I could give ten stars I would.

Stuart L.

Yelp
We have visited Santa Fe twice and both times we came to Atrisco. Next time we come back we will make sure we eat at Atrisco. Good food nice people, what else do you need?
google avatar

Steve C.

Yelp
Ate here for our first meal in Santa Fe, an early dinner after driving most of the day. Very casual place. Food excellent and very good price for Santa Fe. My wife ordered flautas and I ordered the New Mexican Steak Plate. Both were excellent. We also got chips and queso, which I didn't expect in a New Mexican restaurant. I think they were a Yelp check-in deal. The included sopaipillas were great.
google avatar

Jon S.

Yelp
Our 2020 Green Chile Tour of New Mexico continued with an early dinner & drinks at Atrisco, which came highly recommended. And it delivered! The place was surprisingly crowded at 4:30pm, and it definitely felt like a locals spot. Our server was very friendly and helped answer a few questions til we settled on: +Stuffed Sopaipilla covered Christmas style +Chile Rellenos (also Christmas style) +House Margarita +local Amber Ale Everything was super tasty and very filling, especially the sopaipilla. The chile rellenos were good, especially the beans and rice that came with it, I only wish they used an egg batter instead of bread crumbs. But still, the green and red chile sauces were both delicious...I couldn't decided which one was better! Solid stuff all around and definitely worth checking it if you're in the area.
google avatar

Gary A.

Yelp
Over the years, Atrisco has remained true to their family's tradition of excellent New Mexico food served with a smile. From the margaritas to the Rio Grande plate I cannot find fault.

Yelp
Today I went with my coworkers to Atrisco Café & Bar for lunch. I've never been here before. Was I ever in for a really great treat! I had the Roast Leg of Lamb Burrito. The lamb is thinly sliced. I saw it on the menu and thought, what the heck, I've never had that before, so give it a try!! Before being seated I checked out this establishment on my phone's Yelp app, where I saw a lot of people speaking highly of the red chili. So I ordered my Lamb Burrito with red chili. Really fantastic! It was a wonderful pairing. The sopapilla's were perhaps the healthiest sopa's I've ever seen. I'm sure they were made with white flour, but I also saw wheat flour in my sopa, which added a wonderful texture and taste. The service was friendly, helpful and attentive. I am definitely returning here!!
