The Summer’s Most Perfect Sandwich | Eater NY

"At this new bakery in Jersey City's India Square I found a full range of Bombay baked goods and a standout paneer tikka sandwich ($9) on a bouncy roll: fresh cubes of paneer in a spicy sauce shot with chiles and cracked black peppercorns. It's so sloppy that it takes some concentration to eat, but it's well worth the effort." - Robert Sietsema

We have been fans of Atul Bakery since our time in India. Their puffs are excellent and make the perfect late-night snack. We have ordered cakes for birthdays, and they never disappoint. The pastries are always spot on when we are craving something sweet.

Have been visiting Atul bakery for years but the quality seems to be declining. In order to match the competition they are just adding items to the menu but quality has gone down significantly. Got the paneer tikka sandwich for a change but it was just the paneer sabji slapped between two bread. Cold and not toasted at all. At least take the efforts to make a different masala / filling for the sandwich. Ordering cake from this location is a complete mess. Phone number never works. Please improve 🙏

Tried the Vada Pav since it’s a best seller, but it was stale and unappetizing. Patty felt old, and the chutney was extremely watery, as shown in the picture. I order from here often, but this item was disappointing and not edible

I recently got a chance to try one of their cakes at a temple event, and I couldn’t get enough of it! The flavor was so rich, and the texture was soft and moist, and you’d never guess they were egg-free! Definitely perfect for anyone with dietary restrictions or just looking for a lighter treat. The detailed work on the cakes were breathtaking! Definitely one of my go to spots from now on! I highly recommended to go give them a try!

Highly recommend this place for dessert! Got dinner prior to coming here and the slices of cake were the perfect treat. We also got masala tea that wasn’t too sweet which we preferred. Location is very clean and plenty of seating as well. Service was also great. Highly recommend!

Atul Bakery in Jersey City is a fantastic place for authentic Indian baked goods and snacks. From delicious eggless pastries to savory treats like Vada Pav and Paneer Tikka Sandwich, every item is fresh and flavorful. Their cakes, including Black Forest and Rasbhari Rasmalai Cake, are perfect for celebrations or just a sweet treat. The bakery has a clean, welcoming atmosphere, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick snack, picking up sweets for a special occasion, or craving traditional Indian flavors, Atul Bakery is a must-visit destination. 🍰🥐🍛

Yelp
Haven't tried the food yet, but this is one of my go-to places for cakes. It's amazing to have a bakery with so many eggless options. They offer a wide range of Indian-flavor cakes as well as modern flavors. I recently got a Rasmalai cake for my coworker and she absolutely fell in love with it! Highly recommend if you're looking for fresh, flavorful, and eggless cakes.

Yelp
Every time we come to Jersey City, there's a new restaurant that opens up... A little late this time, and lots of new restaurants to see... Atul Bakery - A new Bakery Chai was opened, probably it is from Gujarat only. We saw a photo which was with the PM of India Modi - a Guinness World Record for cakes. anyway, they have lots of varieties of snacks, and it is an in-house brand... they mainly deal in bakery items like cakes-pastries. what I liked most is- their price range... even grocery stores sell items more expensive than this bakery store... i bought many items like Chakri-cream role- cookies- their in-house bhujias and many more... they also have a small section of masala puffs... An overall good option to have light snacks on the block...

Yelp
Mmmm. Rasmalai Cake was moist and tasty without being too sweet (surprising, considering this is an Indian bakery). Will be back to try more.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I went to try the sandwiches and desserts, and everything was amazing. We especially loved the chocolate delight cake, but the pineapple cake was great too. We're definitely coming back to try more!

Yelp
New Bakery alert ! I heard about this place recently from my friends and decided to give it a go! Ambience: The store has that modern Indian vibe and does transport one back to the motherland for a while forgetting that you are in the US. You can argue that it's the same for all the places on Newark ave but this feels more of a modern Indian store straight out of an Indian metropolitan city Service: The staff is very polite and helpful while being patient as I was browsing around the food shelf. The service was quick! But got to try them out during rush hours Food: I ordered Paneer puff and Royal chocolate pastry. Paneer puff: To my surprise it was piping hot and was good.. the spice level was good and definitely worth having. Royal chocolate pastry: After a long long time.. I literally got that Indian pastry feeling after having the first bite. The chocolate was rich and the texture was great while being true to its name also being fresh enough. I wonder if this is one of their best sellers! Pav: The pav was great! Better than what I expected. Usually pav's are too sweet in US but this turned out to be lesser sweet and close to what the original Mumbai pav feels like. To conclude, the bakery is good on pocket with affordable rates.. the products are promising and the place has a great potential but in order to truly succeed in the long run they'll have to keep up with the consistency and the quality too. Looking forward to visit this place again and try more of their products!
