Au Bouillon

Au Bouillon is a Petit Resto Parisien, a hidden gem in a small alley. It is listed on the Michelin Guide in year 2022, 2023, 2024 and also on Blue Ribbon Survey in year 2023, 2024, 2025. The owner Chef, Mr. SD Lee presents authentic and classic French cuisine with very good value for the money, i.e., his dinner course menu at 65K KRW (Entrée+Plat+Desert), 68K (Entrée+Entrée+Plat) and 78K (Entrée+Entrée+Plat+Dessert) Especially his French Onion Soup and Burgundian Escargot are excellent, very savory! From the main, the Cote de porc et choux is the signature one and soupe de poisson facon bouillabaisse is also recommendable. It’s a relatively simple course menu, but it’s enough because the amount is not small. The pretty interior gives the impression of dinng at a French home. The Chef and staffs are very friendly and attentive. There are spacious hall tables and one room for private dining (good upto 8 people) The restaurant is recommendable especially for friends and couples, as well as family with kids. Corkage is 30K per bottle. Valet parking is not available and there are public parking lots right in front of the restaurant.

Ah .. it wasn't bad but wasn't great. Perhaps I had too high of the expectation. The food was average; wine too. Nothing really stood out but overall good. In Korea, French isn't easy to do at reasonable price. I wished this restaurnt would break that bar but ... it didn't. Portions aren't large. For two people, we paid about 120USD including a half bottle of wine.

Quite authentic french home-made style dishes...not much of choices but quite strong impression on most of dishes.

It was great experience. Elegant taste and cozy atmosphere, all of this restaurant are satisfying. I recommend ‘Soupe de poisson facon bouillabaisse’ and ‘Blanquette de poulet en feuilleté’.

Not too small casual french bistro. Somewhat the wine list is a bit disappointing tho. But the foods are good enough. Price is ok. Not a bad place to try once.

Definitely gonna visit again. having too much Italian made me forgot how great French was.

Onion soup is the best. Chicken pastry would not be enough for your stomach to be filled. Pork steak might fulfill your hunger. Love the mood.
