Hidden gem with amazing cocktails! Au Comptoir is a fantastic cocktail lounge tucked just behind the main street shops in Woodstock. The bar service was top-notch—friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The cocktails were creative, well-balanced, and absolutely delicious. The aesthetic of the space is stylish and cozy, making it a perfect spot to unwind. It feels like a hidden gem, and definitely worth seeking out if you’re in town!

This is a beautiful cocktail bar in a great location in the middle of town. We really enjoyed our (reasonably priced) cocktails and taking in the evening sun on their patio. The indoor space is also a really great option - great architecture, airy, nice seating and perfect music playlist (made me think I was on vacation in Mexico, Brazil or Spain). Highly recommend to go here for drinks before (or after) dinner - they also serve small snacks (charcuterie, olives, almonds, chips, dips).

What a hidden gem!! My husband was looking to have a drink outside on this lovely summer day and I happened to spot Au Comptoir which was exactly the thing he was hoping for. Our drinks were fantastic and we also got the charcuterie board which was such a perfect complement to the drinks. An adorable little spot next to the river. We sat outside but inside is also really cute. Our server Tristan was great. Overall such a perfect spot!

This was our second time visiting Au Comptoir, and once again, it did not disappoint. The only downside is that they only serve charcuterie boards, which was a bit disappointing at first—but I have to admit, they were freaking amazing. The space is tiny and intimate, with a relaxed yet special vibe, making it the perfect place to hang out for a couple of hours while enjoying expertly crafted drinks. The charcuterie boards pair well with the cocktails, making it a great spot for a light bite and a few drinks. A huge shoutout to Maddy, our server, who was the definition of excellent customer service—super attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable with great recommendations. If you’re in Woodstock and looking for a top-notch cocktail experience, Au Comptoir is a must-visit!

Came in for a drink and snacks. Ordered the Mediterranean trio, which included chips, olives, and nuts. It was perfect for snacking. Ordered the lumberjack and the Emerald kiss. Both were tasty drinks. Our server was bomb, very friendly. The place is hip and a bit loud, but that is expected for a drink stop. Everything was great here. It is a tight sitting arrangement but doable. Must stop for drinks.

My 5* is for beverages although they do have food and little bites but we didn't try them due to dinner reservations. We stopped in for a happy hour drink and had a great time. Very creative and delicious specialty drinks, great atmosphere and friendly bartenders. If you're in Woodstock VT you should definitely stop in for a drink

2nd time we’ve visited, and we will continue to come back! We make the trip from Keene for the charm of Woodstock, and being able to cozy up at this little cocktail bar is the cherry on top. Cocktails are top shelf, and most importantly, consistent. Lovely in the summer time, indoor and outdoor seating, and in the fall/winter fire pits and seasonal beverages. Attentive staff, only thing missing is a more expanded food menu. They have delicious pickings, but charcuterie is expensive. Aesthetic is also 10/10 - sit, marvel, & enjoy. Cheers!

The most wonderful little spot in woodstocks already rich array of bars and restaurants. I particularly enjoy seeing Julia. In fact, the first time I came we exchanged our shared enthusiasm for the tarot and she made me a special cocktail that wasn't in the menu. It made the visit particularly memorable and my only complaint is that the place is so popular it's hard to get a seat!

This is truly a gem in Woodstock and the Upper Valley. The place is airy and boasts a sexy but casual ambiance and decor. The food menu is a limited bar menu but a very creating one that includes items like smoked fish. Julia serves up the perfect cocktails with a friendly smile and Zoe is a super gracious hostess.

I would say this is a hidden gem but it was packed as soon as it opened at 3:00 on a weekday. The decor could not be more cozy. The outside fires were nice and warm and the decor indoors was so elegant but comfortable. Really interesting cocktail menu. For the area it's expensive so just expect that. A perfect spot to take a break from shopping in Woodstock if you're looking for a more upscale experience.

Great ambience, drinks, and service. The cocktails are creative. My fiance and I tried the ginger margarita, old fashioned, the ebenezer, and la vie en rose - they were all thoroughly enjoyable.

This little gem of a place was the most lovely experience we had while in NH and Vermont. It was right up our alley in terms of ambiance, cocktails, and quality of "snacks". And the fact that they are open on Sundays was a huge deal because that was the only day we were in Woodstock. The owner Zoe and bartender Nick were such great hosts! We sat at the bar for 3 hours! We had wine, then the Ginger Margarita and an Old Fashioned. We also ordered a cheese and Salumi board that was wonderful and very reasonably priced. If you are ever in Woodstock, please find this gem and support their efforts!

Au Comptoir's interior design and ambiance is truly a gem. It's sexy and moody. Unfortunately, the ambiance was the best part about Au Comptoir. The service was terribly slow and drinks were OK.

Stopped by this Fall to check out all the hubbub around this new place. Like some other reviews stated, the service needs improvement. Painfully slow, and the end product wasn't anything special to make it worth it. Once was enough for us to visit this spot, save your money and go elsewhere if you can.

Love love love! I came when they first opened for the day so it wasn't busy but did start to fill up fast. I loved everything about this place from the decor to the ambiance, cocktails, and bites. The only negative I had was of the tall female server being less than nice. I was visiting the area and asked her where the best place to get fresh produce was and she made a snarky remark to me about the flooding. I am well aware of the flooding and still feel terrible about what happened but it was rude for no reason and didn't even answer my question. I felt like she maybe just had an issue with me being a "tourist" but who knows. Thank you to the bartender who must have overhead her and asked what we were looking for. She was very sweet. I would definitely still return here next time I'm in the area.

I tried to come here for a drink this weekend with 3 friends. It's super cute and the menu looked great. Entering, the bearded bartender announced they were short staffed but would be with us as quickly as they could. FORTY minutes later, we were still waiting patiently while trying to get the bartenders attention, without him or either of the other workers acknowledging us again. He repeatedly took orders from older men who had just walked in even as we were clearly standing directly next to the bar trying to order. As we are 25 year old women this felt related, not to mention demeaning. After this happened 3 or 4 times and it started to seem like something more than simple absent-mindedness or chaos, we decided to cut our losses and leave. We walked to the Woodstock Inn where a bar of the same size and busyness was somehow handled fine with 3 bartenders and we were greeted and served nearly immediately. Leaving a star because it did look really cute and I hate to judge an establishment for being short staffed. However I truly am a believer in communication and I wonder whether perhaps they might have considered removing some food aspects of their menu if they were so short staffed instead of leaving their patrons with a terrible experience. We also never received an apology or acknowledgement from any of the staff, even as we walked out directly past the main bartender (he'd come out from behind the bar to show an older man a golf umbrella? Instead of serving customers who'd been waiting 40 minutes?).

Excellent drinks! Even better vibes! The staff worked incredibly hard to keep mixing drinks to a very busy house. We always felt well attended to and enjoyed chatting with the very amiable bartenders while sipping on the fantastic drinks. Lots of local stuff incorporated with fun imports as well!

Incredibly well designed space along the river right next to the main street through town. Wonderful bartenders and cocktail menu- including a wide array of interesting mocktails! Whether you live in the Woodstock area or are just visiting, this has to be a must on your 'bon vivant' to do list!

Traveled through Vermont in the fall and found this place. Loved the inside of the place. Was very cool during the fall. The drinks were also fantastic!

We stopped in for an after dinner drink and, to our surprise, found a table right away. We loved the drinks and the ambiance. There was a fire going on the outdoor patio. Highly recommend.

really cute place!! love that it's open later than most of the joints in the area. ambiance is super cozy. Suzanne and the other bartender were really nice even though they were very busy. prices are less than ideal which is the only reason it lost a star. would def come back!

We had drinks at this bar and loved everything about it. The space is intimate, inviting , and beautiful. Watching the bartender was like watching an alchemist, and the results were amazing! So cool that little quaint Woodstock has a place like this!

100% best bar in the entire town of Woodstock, VT. During our vacation to Woodstock, we visited this establishment twice. Bartender and staff were so fun; best drinks ever; atmosphere was delightful. Truly can not wait to visit again.

Such a great find! Amazing cocktails and lite bites in a fantastic space that transports you to Europe. Music, staff, drinks were all exceptional! A real hidden gem!
