Au Fil du Temps

"In a pedestrian area, just opposite the old church, which has been turned into a cultural centre, this former grocery store is now a charming little restaurant. Sustainable agriculture is favoured, with well - packed dishes: for example, the beef carpaccio, slipper lobster jus, marinated seaweed and oyster fritters." - Michelin Inspector

Atmospheric and cosy place with an extensive wine card. Dishes are complex and well-balanced. Try pigeon and starters. Reserve in advance.

The food here is incredibly delicious, inventive and beautiful. The service was delightful. The price is a steal for the quality and quantity. One of the best meals we've had in Provence. Highly recommend this upscale lovely, intimate restaurant. There is only one tasting menu each night, you are in the hands of the chef, and he is a master.

Great atmosphere, charming setting, beautiful location, and kind and attentive staff. Food was beautifully presented, creative, and very good. I found a small stone inside the scallop dish, but it can happen and they apologized. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Fantastic al fresco dining experience in a sleepy town. Simple menu but elevated food. Every dish was superb and great value for money. The host/owner was amazing and her hospitality was so genuine.

Once again, exceptional food, wine and service! Each course was absolutely delicious. Love the use of seasonal ingredients. Au Fils du Temps is a fantastic experience and worth a detour if you find yourself near Pernes!

We try to eat here at least once every time we are in town. An authentic multi-course French meal prepared by the husband and wife team and best served on the outdoor patio in summer. Hidden away in Pernes les Fontaines keeps this place relatively unknown, in Paris it likely would have multiple stars at multiple times the price. Be prepared for a multi-hour dining experience, not the place you pop into for a quick bite.

Worth a detour, the food is amazing. Une des meilleurs petit resto en Provence.

Nice food, but painfully slow service. The extreme waiting ruined the experience.

Yelp
We wandered in last night without a reservation. Two guests who had a reservation asked the chef if he had room; we were lucky; he had an open table. Small place- make a rez. Michelin quality. It helps to speak French; we don't, but stumbled through. Seven courses of creative dishes. Rose and white wine pared well. No ordering; you get what the chef is inspired to prepare. We just sat back and let it rip. Four hours later, at 23:00 we were satisfied. A good value; I would go again.

Yelp
Holy sh*tsnacks - can the stars go to 6? I honestly never imagined that coming to France, the best restaurant I would find would: a) not be in Paris b) be exceptionally inexpensive Note that 'b' is relative - living in NYC and traveling to London a lot gives me perhaps a skewed perspective but still - we paid 160 Euro and got: a) champagne to start b) a pernaud aperitif to start for me c) 3 courses for the Mrs - celeriac confit, a pata negra pork dish and a fig dessert b) 4 courses for me - calamari with proscuitto starter, both remaining main dishes (a fish dish with cauliflower that might have been the best thing I've eaten ever, a rib-eye steak dish and the cheese platter) c) an incredible bottle of wine IMHO for 160 Euro you really can't beat that. Plus the couple that runs the place is very, very nice and were very appreciative that we enjoyed the place so much. I can't recommend this place further without beating a dead horse so I'll just end there but if you're anywhere near by, I highly recommend stopping by.

Yelp
Hostess & Chef extraordinary Amazingly good food and decor. Claire could not be a more charming hostess and server who will make good recomendations on pairing the wine with the food, and Julien is one of the top chefs in the world. We have been to eat with them for three times and each time is a gastronomic feast. We will be back.
