Jessica Biel’s Restaurant Au Fudge in West Hollywood Closes After Two Years - Eater LA

"Au Fudge, the child-friendly restaurant in West Hollywood from Jessica Biel, Estee Stanley, and Greenleaf founder Jon Rollo, has closed as of last Sunday according to Wehoville. Biel posted the news publicly on her Instagram as well, thanking patrons for the support and saying the space would still be available for private events. According to US Weekly, in early 2017 Biel said on Jimmy Kimmel Live that the restaurant 'wasn’t making any money.' The restaurant had a bit of a rocky opening, with early reports saying that the place would have an exclusive, Soho House-like vibe for kids. But the actual eatery ended up being pretty straightforward, except for separate space for children to play. Reviews for the food were mixed, with an easygoing comfort food menu that appealed to a wide audience. Desserts were a standout part of the menu. The front of the restaurant offered a marketplace selling retail items. In all, despite an ambitious place that was supposed to cater to West Hollywood locals, Au Fudge never garnered traction outside of families with children. The restaurant also had some lawsuit issues, with former employees suing the restaurant for $400,000 for wage theft. In June, the group of nine plaintiffs that were suing Au Fudge dropped the case without explanation." - Matthew Kang

Au Fudge is amazing. Charming rustic decor. A perfect place for coffee and dessert. They even have an art room for parents who want their kiddos looked after while they dine in the restaurant. The dessert was made that day and it was delicious! The staff was wonderful too. I can't wait to visit them again! Highly recommended.

Au Fudge was ridiculously adorable. It has very rustic children's decor. The food was really good, and they had a huge kids menu with kids placemat and even a unicorn sundae! There's a separate room for the kids to play with adult supervision provided by the restaurant.

It's a hidden gem tucked in between WeHo and Beverly Hills. Amazing outdoor patio, kids playroom (complimentary), and great food make for relaxing lunch/brunch. Baby diapers of various sizes are stocked in the restrooms. They host special events (kids' birthdays anyone?) on weekends. Had to add a little detail: this placed is owned by Jessica Biel, wife of Justin Timberlake.

This was a really good experience. We came in early noon without a reservation but they found a spot for us very fast anyway. No doubt that we will make a reservation the next time, just to be sure. We came with our 4 (almost 5) year-old son. He wouldn't go in and play in the play-area because there was a lot of babies in there, and he's not a baby, he said 😄 He did wave a lot to one of the girls working inside the play-area and did a little hide n seek with her, and she was very nice to play along even though she was kinda busy. And that's the general spirit in there, all the people working there was so nice and welcoming and the food was really good. We'll definitely come back again.. and again. UPDATE: So we went back for dinner and Star Wars event. It was so good. The food were amazing and our kid really enjoyed the event and the staff was once again so nice and good with the kids. Btw I read another persons review of this place. She wrote that it was really loud.. I'm wondering whether she knows that it's a place for people with kids. Of course it's loud. That's like complaining that there's too much racing and action in The Fast & The Furious. Loud only means that the kids are enjoying themselves, that's a good sign. Take it for what it is. I love it and the kids really loves it too. Thanks for another great visit.

Good menu, friendly servers, cute and practical playroom for kids (with toys, art supplies, music and supervision), and a very cute gift shop up front with whimsical treats for your tummy or your kid. The menu was not extensive but good. No one will care if you bring kids of any age here, they were very accommodating. The atmosphere was great and homey with wooden accents, music playing, and beautiful drinkware.
