We have found this amazing restaurant by chance. A hidden gem of an excellent cuisine. Make sure you venture out of the promenade with all the restaurants and visit this charming, relaxing and beautiful place close to the cathedral. It's a family run business and the hosts are very welcoming and friendly. The food is phenomenal - the combination of amazing flavours blending into a truly fantastic meal. This was our second visit and this time we had a slow cooked lamb (tender and juicy) and an outstandingly tasting duck combined with perfectly prepared potatoes and a salad which had just the right amount of dressing. The dessert was extra special too, the lasting, slightly exotic flavour making you want more. Culinary masterpiece, with a jazz music in the background and a very friendly atmosphere. We highly recommend this place and we will be definitely coming back again next time we are in Dieppe.

Great location just back from the harbour on an interesting street. Bar and restaurant downstairs. Stairs narrow and rooms small but clean and functional. We had a good welcome and the owners were very helpful. And a good breakfast in morning. Value for money.

Love this hotel, if you're staying in Dieppe you must stay here. Great location with super friendly/welcoming staff/owners. Great cafe/restaurant on ground floor. What massively impressed me was that our flipping DFDS boat was late arriving, I thought we would have problems, but no we had a code for the email and the key was in the bedroom door. Great service and feel this should be a two star. Only downside was the narrow stairs which were difficult to lug bikes up quietly at midnight. But this is a miniscule detail.

This is a lovely hotel near the beach and restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised by the welcome and hospitality offered by our hosts. Will return to see them again soon!!

It's an OK place. But no family friendly. Only 1 high chair so if more then 1 family its first come. Not helpful. No lift so if people struggle with mobility or have young children like me with a stroller 5 6 flights of stairs up and down with a buggy is hard work. Mold in the shower . Sink doesn't keep water in. Extreme amounts of dirt untethered beds. Our bed was broken. Very uncomfortable during our stay. Shower extremely slippery more then normal. Broken shower drain.it was okay but not really worth the money paid

Very central location; a minute's walk from the cathedral. The hotel is ok. Strange drain smell in the room, which wasn't great, but there seemed to be work going on in the street outside, which might have been part of the problem. The room was quite clean, but wouldn't return.

This was our third visit to Au Grand Duquesne. It is under new management and the new owner (Gilles) and his wife could not do enough to make our stay more comfortable. We arrived on a late ferry. Gilles waited up for us to arrive and a nice touch was a bowl of fruit in the room if we fancied a snack on arrival. Parking can be a problen in the old part of town, but Gilles was able (for a small daily fee) to provide private parking in a safe secure area close to the hotel. As we only wanted to explore on foot, this was a perfect solution to trying to find a car park. We had the top (family) room that was comfortable with nice cotton bed linen. Bathroom and shower were fine, indicating that some renovation was taking place. Breakfast was simple baguette, croissants and jam. Dinner was tasty, A small menu, but none the worse for that, with everything individually priced so that you could mix and match if you wished. The hotel is 5 mins from the sea front and 5 mins from the harbour so good for everything that we wanted to do and see. Our return ferry was not until the evening so we agreed with Gilles to collect the car at 2 pm. Sure enough, at 2 pm, the car turned up. The only drawback was that the area can be a bit noisy, especially on Saturday morning when the market traders are setting up (it is a great market, especially the food- worth visiting). We enjoyed our visit and would recommend it. With the continuing renovation under Gilles guidance, I am sure Au Grand Duquesne can only get better.

We have stayed at this tiny family-run hotel before and found it to be very comfortable, if a bit quirky. We always have a lovely welcome, the staff are very helpful and the beds comfortable with good cotton bed linen. The restaurant is good and they have set price menus as well as a la carte. But - if you can't do rather steep and windy stairs this isn't the place for you.
