Au Jus

Amazingly delicious! I crave Au Jus all the time! The Chicago beef is so delicious, tender, and juicy on their fresh bread. The portion size is massive, a large is like eating a Nerf football! On top of this the owner and staff is super friendly and welcoming! Make sure you pay attention how spotless this great place is. I’d recommend you try it, you won’t be disappointed!

My sandwich was pretty hefty and heartier than it looked at first glance. Lots of sauce, which I love, but it was definitely very rich. The fries were AMAZING. Tastes just like fries from a fair.

So where do I start… Let me first say I literally tried everything to like this place. Everything about it sounds good. And it was recommended to me. Like this type of restaurant in this area sounds great. I tried it 3 different times. Something different each time trying to find something I liked. And it just doesn’t deliver. I’m honestly not picky at all and I like all different types of food. The first time I tried an Italian beef and the meat just has absolutely no flavor. You can get roast beef cut at the deli at Walmart that has more flavor. The only thing that gave the sandwich any flavor was the spicy giardiniera. Like if your restaurants staple is supposed to be the Italian beef it has to have more flavor than it did. I’ve talked to other people and they say the same thing. I just recently tried the Philly steak and it was far from what a Philly should be. Same flavorless beef. And huge hunks of undercooked onions. Onions on a Philly should be smaller softer and cooked longer. These were raw and crunchy. Tasted nothing like a Philly, I tried that new authentic cheesesteak place further down Broadview, now that’s a Philly steak. And it’s beyond over priced for the portions. 17 bucks for what looked like a half sandwich and fries. I really tried with this place but it’s just not it. I see the owner gets super butt hurt by bad reviews but sorry dude your food sucks. I don’t get the hype surrounding this place. I think it was just the newness of it. I went in on a Friday at dinner time and it was dead so I think the word that it sucks is spreading around. I don’t see this place lasting much longer.

I just went with a couple friends. We actually sat inside and chopped it up with the owner while eating, funny guy. He will tell you anything. Anyway, food was good, sandwich isn’t cheap but it comes with about a pound of meat, a whole sausage, and the dip of course. It’s actually a decent deal. If you eat the whole sandwich you will be in a meat and au jus coma. I will try the Cuban next time. A pop there is only a buck. I think he may know who I am just by writing this. I’ll be going back.

We ordered 4 sandwiches, onion rings and fried pickles. Everything was mouthwateringly delicious and GIGANTIC. Very authentic Chicago Italian beef, dare I say better?!? Can’t wait to enjoy their yummy food again soon!

OMG! This place is awesome! My husband wanted to try this place for months and finally brought it home. We tried the Cuban sandwich, onion rings, French fries and Italian beef egg rolls! I LOVED ALL OF IT!! we decided to go back 2 days later and got the Philly, the large Spicy Trifecta, onion rings, French fries, pickle chips and the Italian beef egg rolls...... there was so much food we had enough for a meal the next day! The roasted garlic aolia is to die for! Tried the lemon basil aolia too which is awesome! The portions are huge and the food is amazing!! The owner is sooooo nice and the staff is too! I would recommend Au Jus to anyone and everyone! Thanks for putting together amazing products!!

After hearing how great this place is I finally tried it. It was around 9pm and this place was still open. I was still hungry after a yelp event and decided to drive and try this place. The whole experience didn't disappoint. I ordered online from the parking lot right in front of the place and went right in. The people behind the counter were super friendly and made the wait for my order go quickly. It's not really a place to eat food so took my food and we ate in the car. I got the Cuban sandwich and onion rings (which you can order extra crispy). The first look at the sandwich my heart dropped cause I couldn't see anything like meat in it. But upon taking a bite I did find the meat. It was tasty and I did enjoy it so much I ate the whole thing, and it's a huge sandwich. The onion rings were wonderful. They use a thin batter so the rings aren't as heavy as most places but still taste great. Plus they were nice and crispy. My mom got the philly sandwich with peppers added for an additional fee. She really enjoyed her sandwich too. I tried a bite and will probably get that next time. The food was excellent and I'll gladly br going back for more.

Overall 4 stars. For the food, the customer service and for what seemed to be a very clean and organized kitchen. The beef was extremely tender. Overall it was very tasty. I'm extremely picky when it comes to meat and seasoning. If it still tastes like plain meat to me I can't do it. There was just a few bites I felt that way. The bread was so soft! Peppers had a nice kick. The regular size is big..for most people it's probably big enough to share. The au jus sauce was good, a little salty, but definitely not crazy salty. I tried the beef egg rolls as well and they were pretty good. I got the garlic aioli sauce to go with them since I was getting the au jus with the sandwich..so glad I did, it was delicious! I'd get the rolls again just to dip them in the garlic aioli. I was inspired to find an Italian beef sandwich while watching "The Bear" and this was the only place around I could find one. I had already heard good things about this place so I gave it a shot and you should too.

So nice and welcoming- the customer service was excellent. We drove 20 minutes home to enjoy our food and WOW it didn't disappoint! Tender seasoned beef melted in my mouth. Huge sandwich well worth the $ and I will definitely be back.

Excellent roast beef sandwich. So tasty and fresh. Owner is a delight to talk to, staff very helpful. Have been here 3 times in the past month. This pic is only half a sandwich. Generous portions and decent prices. Best news, Diet Pepsi and other pops only 1.00 a can.

Now let me start with I am a Chicago native and I know my Italian Beefs! These are very high quality beef with little to NO fat. Spices were spot on. So hard if not close to impossible to find an authentic Chicago style beef here in the Cleveland area but they nailed it. Friendly service that also offers some counter top space to dine in.

18 months later, not a lot has changed. Way too much bread on the sandwich, way too little giardiniera, even after asking (and paying) for double. Saw pictures of loaded fries on FB, so asked for cheese fries. FB showed a ladle full of cheese, we got a small cup. Asked for fries to be well done, still under cooked. Onion rings again were good, and the garlic dipping sauce was worth the 60 minute drive. Very nice folks, just not as good as Chicago.

Family run business offering a unique item (Chicago style Italian beef sandwiches) that you can't find generally in NE Ohio. Food is always fresh, portions are generous & they are always friendly! They also are on the Toast app & give rewards to incentivize you to keep coming back! (It works)

I eat alot and this was a massive sandwich. Big beef just like in Chicago. Giardinera peppers authentically made in house are to good. Massive bun. Simply put- A very well done sandwhich!!

As a Chicago native, this Italian beef is as good, if not better than what you can get in Chicago! The sandwiches are authentic and the portions are huge. The service was fast and everything came out fresh and piping hot. Restaurant is very simple and clean, it's more of a take-out spot than dine in. Will definitely be back!

When you want a real Italian beef sandwich with the absolute best au jus.... Go to Au Jus!!!! This little shop in the middle of a small strip mall is the absolute best. The meat is tender, juicy, hot and perfectly seasoned. I added sauced mushroom and provolone cheese and was more than pleased. The bread is fresh, and perfectly crisp on the outside and soft inside. But I have never had an au jus like theirs! It was hot, beautifully seasoned and heavy with black pepper. To top it off top it all off, the portion of meat will leave you full, satisfied and wanting another sandwich... tomorrow.

Called in the order and was quoted 15 minutes to pickup. Arrived and they had just wrapped up the sandwiches and were wrapping up the fresh cut fries The working area was extremely clean and personnel organized. Had the pleasure of talking with the working owner who took exceptional pride in his business and quality of food.! My friends have gone and concur!

I just tried the Cuban Sandwich. I'm from Miami and it's the best I've found in Cleveland.

The roast beef sandwich wasn't that good, we were expecting 'WOW'. It was awfully salty and when you dipped it, it became even saltier. The fries were greasy, like they fried them twice and as if the oil was t hot enough. And they were doused in salt!! We could just taste salt, like straight from the shaker. No return visit from us.

What a coincidence I just finished binging The Bear (loved the show) then this place opens up near my house! FYI ordered my food to go so fries and onion rings were soggy when I got home and man did my car smell like grease during that ride. Ordered the famed Italian beef with au jus on the side. When I unwrapped sandwich didn't looks like enough meat but each bite was tasted like it was enough. Flavor definitely enhanced with the dipping sauce. Don't skip out on that! I wouldn't say it's better than in Chicago, but still quite tasty. Also ordered pressed Philly sandwich. Bread was fresh and nice complement. Didn't look like large service but I was definitely full at the end. Good quality beef but maybe would have been better with more mayo. Lots of other items I'm curious to try. I'll be back for you all

Great food! Owner was very personable and welcoming! This was one of the cleanest restaurants I've ever seen, especially one pumping out food like them! I got the trifecta, it was delicious spicy and massive! Just so you know, the large is about the size of a football! I recommend the cheese sauce. I didn't really care for the sausage, it was pretty bland. That being said this place still earns five stars!

Get yourself to Au Jus, the hype is worth it! Magnificent Italian Beef, truly outstanding. The spicy giardiniera is quite spicy and we like heat. We also tried the Cubano & onion rings, both were good, but the beef is the stand out for sure. Portions are very big and priced excellent for the quality and quantity of the food. Also, this was the cleanest restaurant kitchen I've ever seen! We got to chat a bit with @Jakob Kelly who is a really terrific and passionate man. The only downside is there is really no place to eat inside. We live in Avon Lake and I didn't want to try the food cold so we eat in our truck in a nearby bank parking lot. I didn't get any pictures, but I wouldn't recommend wearing your nice clothes when eating here :)

Awesome place ! Great stalag and the sandwich is huge. I wish they grilled the bun only because it gets soggy so fast. But the meat is delicious!! I had the hot beef with the peppers. Loved it.

Neat neat neat place! Italian beef w Au Jus was amazing ...... Top Top Shelf! The large is amazingly large.... Cuban sandwich also amazing Fresh cut fries on point! Stopped in 2pm on a Saturday and not that busy. I can imagine a line around the building during the week. This is where Yelp should let you add more stars! Enjoyed talking with the owner. This is the kind of place that will end up on Diners,Drive inn and dives for all the right reasons.

Very good takeout place if you want Chicago-style Italian meat sandwiches. There is limited seating, so I recommend takeout. We got the Italian meat with provolone and the Italian with sausage, onion rings, and battered pickles. We also got a side of Spicy Giardiniera. The regular sizes are still on the larger side. We enjoyed everything, but we might change our next order to only include the beef sandwiches (the beef holds up on its own). The onion rings were nice and crispy. A note on the Giardiniera: the spicy version is actually REALLY spicy. I'd order here again.

Single small orderering room with 2 bars adjacent to one another, universal sign of a good place to eat. Service was fantastic, fella that took my order was very friendly and knew his beefs. I'm not sure if you'll find a better hot beef in Cleveland. The peppers are on the sweeter side for me but that didn't take away from it. Also tried the hot beef egg roll which was also very good. Will definitely be stopping by again whenever I'm in town.

I can't say enough about this spot!!! The owners and the staff are top notch and the food is amazing. If you're within an hours drive, it would be well worth your time to experience the best sandwich spot in northeast Ohio. The prices are great and the service is exceptional.

Consider this a rave review. I ordered Italian beef with sweet peppers, provolone, sautéed onion and a side of Au Jus. This sandwich is first of all, absolutely massive, and still came with enough Au jus to accommodate. This is the best sandwich I've had in recent memory. Absolutely nailed it. I was shocked to see that it wasn't 5 star reviews across the board, and after reading negative reviews let me just say this. 1. - I'm not taking advice from a dude who says things like "the help was antiseptic" ...... 2. Some of the things people complained about seem to have already been addressed w/r to food prep 3. The pricing is completely reasonable for a small local business serving high quality ingredients and 4. Yes there is almost no seating but the owners were wise to select an affordable storefront for this business. I think you guys are absolutely crushing it. Definitely taking this review to google as well. Thank you for the excellent food!!!!

Best sandwich in town! I've been here a few times and it still can't believe how great the beef sandwich is. Tons of flavor! A lot of options for toppings. Just a great sandwich. Great customer service. You can truly see the owner passion! He cares what he feeds us. Fresh ingredients! Can't wait to come back!

Very little meat! Call the owner to let them know I was displayed with this sandwich! He told me we can settle this real quick. Don't ever come back into my store again! Sounds like a real great owner. I'll be back to get my 14 bucks back out of him.

Being from CHI, I was excited to see an Italian Beef place in Cleveland. The beef itself tasted pretty good and the portion was quite large. Thats where the good stuff ends. The bread was entirely too large and not very tasty. A longer but narrower roll is much preferred. You cant dip a sandwich thats 6" wide into a 2" cup. No way to get your mouth around this thing. Second....charging for giardiniera? Really? $1 plus to throw seasoning on there? Every IB sandwich normally comes with this. Third....Ordered pretty quickly when I went in but waited about 12 minutes for the meal. It was a little busy though and they were working hard but kept calling out names of people who ordered by app or phone and were not there. Get a rack like Jersey Mikes, put in there and be done with it. Last - He asked me if I wanted the fries crispy and I said yes since I read previous reviews. They were mushy at best. I guess if I go back....Onion Rings

After finishing "The Bear" on Hulu, I had to get my hands on an Italian beef sandwich. This was my first time trying Au Jus. Not the most picturesque just by the nature of the meal but ordered an Italian beef sandwich with provolone and added sweet peppers. First off, the regular size was huge. Only ate 1/2. Food was incredibly fresh. I also ordered the fried pickles. I loved them, but my sister (who I split them with) didn't care for them because of the batter. I saw on Facebook that they make their own pickles from cucumbers they pick from their garden and I really appreciate that level of attention and care towards ingredients. I put my order in online and it was ready to be picked up 10 minutes later. Overall, great experience- will order here and try a new item next time. And just because I know you may be wondering, personally, my sandwich tasted better than the infamous Chicago chain that starts with a P; plus I feel better about supporting a local business.

My husband and I went to Au Jus for the first time this past Saturday. The food was delicious!! We will definitely return for the service and the food!! Staff are really nice and friendly. The food are good portions and made to order. Can't wait to go back!!

The negative reviews are absolutely ridiculous because they haven't even tried the food here. I've now been here three times and each time has been fantastic. I have had the Italian beef with sausage, the Sicilian and the Cuban. This is silly and might be one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, and it comes with capers and a type of a lemon basil aïoli, which is so good on the sandwich. I know they are changing their hours because of the demand for lunch so ignore the negative reviews who haven't even bothered to taste the food. I also recommend the onion rings because they are fantastic, fresh, and they fill a bag for you, this place is brand new and I can already see that when I was just here they were packed and that's a good thing. I can only hope that they bring one of these closer to where I live in Lakewood. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to coming back.

Fresh bread, juicy beef, pickled veggies, and a savory au jus dipper made this experience SO GOOD! If you watched The Bear and don't want to drive to Chicago to enjoy a sandwich, just stop here in Parma. Can't wait to come back to enjoy more of the menu!

so to those who heard about Au Jus but don't live nearby - and are thinking they'll drive to the location and have lunch or whatever - there's limited counter seating - no tables. i'd say it's more a takeout place. that's fine, but we didn't know and drove up from Brunswick to try it out. ok, that out of the way, the food: the con's: - again, not really suited for dine-in. - my wife didn't care for the Cuban (whole garlic cloves in the pork - too much for her). - fries could use more cook time. i thought they were good, but very county fair like. - i didn't read the menu closely so i didn't realize that the Italian Beef didn't automatically come w/ giardiniera. everywhere i've ever ordered Italian Beef has included it. Additionally, I've never had cheese included w/ one previously so that threw me off - so i ordered w/o it. were i to go back I'd make sure to order w/ the giardiniera. the pro's: - the beef is delicious. it is for this reason, alone, that i'd definitely go back. sincerely delicious beef. - the bread, i though, was the perfect roll for the beef. i read others thought it was too much. meh, seemed right to me. - staff was friendly look, i'm sorry. my review doesn't really seem to indicate that i enjoyed the food. I DID. i hope that comes across. maybe if they do well, some day they'll be able to move into a larger location, with parking etc. i hope so. we'll see. i wish them luck.

This place is outstanding. We were in town from Chicago and happened upon this place. They really know what they are doing! Great food! Great Beef! Loved the Italian Beef eggrolls. So good we drove an hour out of the way to eat there on the way home!

Any review less than 5 stars is crazy. The beef itself was delicious. The hot peppers were spicy but not hot enough to rip your face off. The beef had at least twice the amount of meat that would come on a beef at Al's or Mr. Beef IN CHICAGO. Make sure to ask for it wet and don't get it to-go just like you wouldn't get any other beef place to go. 10/10 and will be returning.

Just tried this place tonight. A pressed Philly and some spicy giardinera. I was not impressed. It was barely warm after my less than 5min drive home. It was near tasteless as well. The giardinera is $1.10 and it's about a spoonfuls worth. The sandwich itself was $10.50. A bit pricey for the size. Should probably be more around $8. I'll give them another chance because they're new. I'll try a different sandwich and see what's what. If it's subpar. Won't be back.

Delicious food always My favorite is the Cuban without mustard and with extra pickles. It's very flavorful and filling. Tried the new Italian beef egg rolls. There very very tasty and juicy..not greasy. The restaurant is super clean. Nice to see entire place when ordering. That's how you know it's good all-around..not just what they want you to see. Food is high quality...no skipping corners here.
