"Chez Isaac keeps it simple—and it works. Behind the bakery’s nondescript blue storefront on a well-trod tourist street in Montmartre, you’ll find a handful of classic pastries like éclairs and deeply bronzed chouquettes, one of the city’s best baguettes, pains au chocolat—and the prototype for a classic Parisian croissant. It explodes into a flurry of flakes the moment you bite into it. And while it totally delivers in the flavor department, it’s light enough to keep you energized for a climb to marvel at some of the city’s best views without needing a nap first." - emily monaco

I work in the area and very often go there during my lunch breaks. Everything is always very nice and tasty, and they offer a nicely varied selection of pastries, as well as sandwichs and offer foods. Price wise, they are not at all expensive, especially considered the area they are located it at. The ladies serving are always very nice, very friendly and welcome as well. I deeply recommend

We went to Paris in August. Another bakery was on my list of places to try during our day in Montmartre, but it was closed, and we stumbled upon this bakery. I found which was by far my favorite croissant I had during our entire trip! I didn't even remember the name of the shop, but remembered the exact location and searched it up on Google maps so that I can go back and visit it over and over again on my next trip to Paris. The people were friendly and didn't mind when my mom took a bit of extra time attempting to order in French. We sat on the bench close to the little park, enjoying our croissants and baguettes while we people watched. The whole experience left a positive, memorable, lasting impression ❤️.

We wandered into this cozy boulangerie in Montmartre, drawn by the warm aroma of freshly baked bread, and it didn’t disappoint! The baguettes were everything we’d hoped for—deliciously crusty on the outside with a perfect, airy texture inside. We couldn’t resist trying the tartelette mirabelle, and it was a standout! Just the right amount of sweetness and a perfectly crumbly crust that melted in the mouth, making each bite pure bliss. The staff were incredibly welcoming and patient, happily guiding us through their wonderful selection of pastries and helping us decide. It felt like they genuinely cared that we chose something we’d love, which made the experience extra special. If you’re exploring Montmartre, stopping here is a must—it’s the kind of place that leaves you wanting to come back for more!

Google
Traditional bakery, simple and fresh. I happened to get the best quiche, fresh and the most delicate. The pain au chocolat was nice but just nice, not an amazingly fluffy like you can get in Paris sometimes. Get your coffee somewhere else!

Had a couple delicious pastries before our long walk in Montmarte. Staff had great patience with my indecision at the selection and poor French. Seems like a lot of locals were in and out, always a good sign, we really enjoyed our croissants.

Google
Chocolate cookie very well, but the pistachio is very disappointing. Inside vanilla cream and the top could not be felt

The Chou was amazingly crispy outside & the cream inside is dreamy. Their homemade Croissant is great as well. Highly recommended than other tourist attractions bakery. I took a 15 mins walk from Gare de Nord to come here & totally worth it.

Yelp
Really loved the people and their friendliness at this bakery. They were so helpful and so kind with all of the allergy questions I had. There were so many good choices (and there were so many people, it was hard to take photos of this place!). The butteriness of all the yummy goodies we got was just out of this world. The flakiness of the pastries, and the ratio of the filling to the pastry was also great. I would highly recommend going back. It's a tiny space, so make sure you scope out the choices before quickly placing your order! There's not too much time to hem and haw because the line will be out the door before you know it!

Yelp
They have a large variety of baked good, but my favorite item here is the baguette. The baguette is crispy, light, and has good chew. It is not overly crusty like other baguettes. I make it a point to stop by this bakery every time I go to Sacre Coeur.

Yelp
This bakery was very good, and another chocolate croissant that I tried during my stay in Paris. This one was very good for breakfast, buttery and just a touch of chocolate. The flavor was very enjoyable. Other desserts that I tried were also very good and fresh.

Yelp
Thanks to our server at the previous restaurant we visited fir recommending this place! It's small but not hard to find...just look for the blue signage! We came in to buy a baguette and dessert for my birthday picnic up at the top of the hill. It was around 7pm and there were lots of foot traffic in and out of here. We were helped by two nice ladies who spoke very little English but were very helpful. He got a caramel and custard filled eclaire while I had the dark chocolate covered cherry filled sponge cake. Of course, we got a nice warm toasty baguette. Our total came out to €7,25!. Their pastries and baked goods are so cheap in france!!! I love it! Cash only.

Yelp
I came to Montmartre to see Basilique du Sacré-Cœur and stopped by here to buy some Viennoiseries. The CHAUSSON AUX POMMES was very flaky and there was smooth apple sauce inside, which was not too sweet. The chiboust with peach was also delicious. Merengue was very fluffy and well caramelized on top. I loved the sweetness of merengue and tanginess of peach. Just like its store name "d'Antan", every pastry looks like they were handed down from one generation to another. It's definitely worth coming back!

Yelp
What a wonderful bakery in Montmartre. We ordered 2 croissant, 1 baguette, a chocolate sponge cake, and a bottled drink for only 7,95. What a deal and the croissants were flaky and delicious.

Yelp
Worth the wait. One of the best baguettes I've had in all of France. I suggest bringing some cheese, buying some bread here and having a little picnic on the steps of the Sacre Coeur hill.

Yelp
This is very good tasty bake goods -service ok any time, the baguette is better taste than Italian bread ! If you like a quick lunch or snack this is the place! I wish these kind of bakers were available in US!

Yelp
**THE BEST BAGUETTE I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE** There is a reason why the President of France has his baguettes delivered from here. Ordered several croissants and some baguette sandwiches. The croissants were good (I've had better) . . . HOWEVER, their baguettes are TO-DIE-FOR! Texture + Freshness + Crunchiness = Perfect. J'adore their almond pastries as well. The ladies were very helpful and friendly and allowed me to speak my broken French with ease. RECOMMEND their baguettes!

Yelp
Well in many cases I have found there is a gap between what people say about a thing and what I found in reality. We came especially to taste their baguette this morning and it was spectacular, really. Of course I don't eat gluten but my wife and my kids loved it. We bought a baguette in this bakery and some fruits and a nice cheese in a nearby grocery and went to eat it in one of Montmartre nice gardens. According to my wife the baguette is very light, moist and crusty. Give it a try

Yelp
The 2011 best baguette in Paris winner, and good enough, but not as good as the 2010 winner just down the street (La Grenier a Pain). Note, check their hours before trekking here, as they close a bit earlier than La Grenier.

Cary W.

Yelp
One of the best baguettes in the city. Make sure you order the "Antan traditionnel" and not their "normal" baguette. 1.15euro for one. There are LOTS of good baguette makers in Paris; lots of mediocre ones too. Make sure you google the recent years "paris baguette competition" top ten winners and just pick and choose the ones closest to you.

Jenna S.

Yelp
Came here in 2011 for their baguettes when they won the Best Baguette in Paris competition, and returned in 2014 again. The baguettes are still winners, and their sandwiches are delectable.

Yelp
This was the first baguette I got on my Paris trip and it set the bar high. It was amazing! It's perfectly crisp on the outside and slightly moist on the inside. I also got an almond croissant but I think I'll go for a plain one next time. I really wanted to taste the croissant itself but there was so much almond filling that I ended up scraping some off to finish the whole thing. Also, the ladies behind the counter were very nice and tried to help me as I was ordering with my fractured French. Also a little tip, there's heavy scaffolding in front of the bakery so I almost missed it entirely. Just look for the blue awning peeking out!

Lily C.

Yelp
A friend recommended the baguettes but we ended up getting the croissants and the almond pastry and they were good! It is located very close to the Abbesses metro station. A good side track when you visit the Dali museum in Montmartre

Martin R.

Yelp
We went there shortly before closing time so there were only few types of baguette left and we tried the baguette cereal. And oh my god - that was soo lovely. Beautiful crust on the outside and super-soft on the inside. Grab a nice bit of cheese in a fromagerie closy by and you have an amazing and cheap breakfast, lunch or dinner!
