On our recent road trip to Quebec City, we had no idea where we'd stay, but we stopped at the information.welcome center when we crossed into Quebec Province. How surprised we were to find they could find and book a hotel for us right there! They showed us different price ranges, and told us what to expect from each hotel. The one we chose, Au Petite Hotel, though having been listed as two stars because of lack of certain features, was fine enough for us as we didn't need a pool, or an elevator, or a restaurant on site. We just needed a clean place to sleep, and what we got was an attractive, charmingly old, small hotel, family-owned, and in a good location. To park our car on site was another cost per day, but we didn't mind. We were glad to have a place to park and leave our car as we planned to walk everywhere, anyway. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we extended our stay at the hotel for another night. For an extra small cost, breakfast was brought to us each morning -- croissants, toast, orange juice, assorted sliced fruits and coffee (or tea).
We must have left a light on in our car. When we packed up to leave, our car would not start. The hotel owner helped us get it started. I just can't thank these people enough for making our stay in Quebec City so pleasant. And, we loved the comfort of the bed we had in our room. On the night we arrived, we opened our window and we could hear Sir Paul McCartney singing in concert on stage over on the Plains of Abraham, not too far from where we stayed.
