We came here for lunch and the food, service and atmosphere were excellent! We had the entrecôte and fries, fish of the day, and salmon salad - everything tasted so good! The bistro itself is decorated beautifully and the guys working there are so sweet and friendly. Highly recommend!

I was recommended this place to enjoy a great cup of coffee & a croissant. I was fortunate to have the attention of the two wonderful staff members this morning to have a lovely wee chat about coffee! In the end I settled on a cappuccino accompanied by a plain croissant. I liked the layers in my drink. I had not ever seen that before, and this was my first cappuccino in Paris so maybe that's how this drink is made? Time will tell. A lovely place to come & treat myself. Awesome service, and you can choose between comfy velvet covered seating around oak tables inside in the warmth or chairs & tables outside on the street.

Best croissant I had in Paris! We had breakfast here twice. The staff was so welcoming to us (not always the case during our visit). Highly recommend!

Google
This quickly became our favourite restaurant when visiting Paris and we returned several times. The food was excellent and the staff were amazing. So friendly and patient as we all practiced our French. Highly recommend, especially the Duck Confit.

Google
An absolute local gem. Fresh and tasty food, friendly and efficient service. Price are reasonable, the wine options are good and there are options for kids too. the kind of place you want to keep for yourself and this was recommended to us by a local person.

We stumbled onto this place when we got to Paris and fumbled with basic French trying to order - the staff made us feel welcomed and part of the family despite that. Since then we've made it a point to come back for a meal and more drinks, and haven't regretted it one bit. The St Germain Spritzes were expertly done, and the escargot and charcuterie board so so tasty. Shoutout to our waiters Louis and Guillaume for making us feel like regulars 😁 Recommend this spot if you want drinks, or food amidst a cosy, woody, homely interior!

Google
Au Roi Du Cafe and the amazing service staff made my first trip to Paris (and Europe) a 10/10 experience. I stayed close by and am really glad the cafe was on the corner because I visited every single night to grab a drink… or three. All the waiters are funny and welcoming, struck conversations with all of them. They were all fun to talk to and recommended some awesome food and drinks to try. Honestly missing this cafe so much and I’m already looking at flights to return to Paris and this cafe. The Chartreuse mule and St. Germain spritz were my two favorites and wish I drank one more Chartreuse mule because I didn’t know they were uncommon in California. Food and drinks were amazing, service staff were awesome!!

Yelp
Food was great - especially the tartare. I'd give 4.5 stars for the food. Service was efficient and polite. Cozy Parisian ambiance. Overall, a solid experience - would come back.

Yelp
Service was awesome and was just what we were looking for after taking a long flight from the US and awaiting check-in at our hotel. The waiter who served us saw we were struggling to understand what was on our menu and brought us one in English and had a great sense of humor. We'd go back again!

Yelp
We stopped by for a quick cappuccino, and it was délicieux. Waitress was quick to come outside and greet us. Of course, in France, they don't rush you out ever, so I've always had to look inside and motion to our servers to ask for the check. Love the culture of sitting outside on a patio for an afternoon coffee.

Yelp
Delicious food, great ambiance & great service. Loved our meal at the cafe with a nice variety of food selections, desert & drinks.

Yelp
Traditional bistros can be the go to place. This is a favorite in the quartier. Fun and charming. Good food, drinks and staff.

Yelp
While searching for a pharmacy to get an official Covid test, I found this gem. Ordered an irish coffee. Sat outside, drank my Irish coffee and people watched. Staff was pleasant and quick. One staff person spoke a little English along with my limited French, I had a relaxing afternoon.

Yelp
Service was quick compared to what I had been experiencing in Paris. We came for breakfast, but it turned out that the benedict special was only available during Sundays. The only option we had left was the One Egg Omelette with a small salad which came with a fresh orange good (Really good) and a cappuccino. This was €13 per person. We sat outside and people-watched until we were satisfied.

Yelp
We stayed in an AirB&B down the street from here and decided to try it. The Owner, Felip could not have been most hospitable, great food and atmosphere

Sophie M.

Yelp
What a great place. The owner, Julien, is great. At many restaurants in Paris, we have felt ignored, especially as an American, but the vibe is welcoming here. Nice spot on the corner with a wonderful patio.

Yelp
Three words: "GET THE ONION SOUP OR YOULL REGRET IT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE" I'm not good at math, but I think you get my point. I hope you won't be disappointed because I overhyped it, but we were here on vacation and had the onion soup- OMG it was the best part of our meal. The service was great- very friendly gentleman. The entrees were good, as was the coffee and the ambiance. We're desperately looking to make time to visit again for the soup before we leave. Bon apetit!

Yelp
My friend and I decided to try this local cafe while we were visiting. Out of all the places I've eaten in Paris, I really enjoyed this spot the most. The waiter was super nice and translated the menu for us. He wasn't rude or snide, he was attentive. This is one cafe that does not discriminate if you're from the US.

Yelp
Good simpel French café food! Very friendly staff, nice admosphere, also great to visit with childeren.

Yelp
Decent cafe. Service was quick, no nonsense. The duck thigh was cooked fine with a thick layer of fat under the crisped skin, but the potatoes and side of spinach were lackluster and overall the only seasoning used was salt. All in all, not particularly memorable.

Yelp
Amazing vegetable lasagne! And delicious peach iced tea. Service was swift and friendly to English speakers.

Yelp
Worst steak I've ever had in my life. No exaggeration and I'm not a picky eater at all. The host was kind to us as was the server, but the meat was so egregiously bad compared to the French couple next to us who had ordered the same thing. I felt afterwords that we might have been singled out for being English speaking tourists. I was starving at the time and managed to eat the chewy first half of it, but the second half was so full of gristle my knife couldn't cut it. The French couple next to us looked over and noticed how bad mine was. Hard to believe the cook didn't notice before sending it out.

Yelp
Came here for our farewell breakfast in Paris. We were out and about pretty early and there are no "diners" lol, so finding somewhere that was open was a test. But we succeeded! This place, like damn-near every place in Paris, was part bar, part restaurant. When we walked in, there were so few people there that we hesitated, thinking they might not actually be open. But they were. The waitress directed us to sit at a close by table/anywhere we liked. They had a very simple pre fixe breakfast. You get an OJ, choice of cafe drink, choice of croissant/baguette/pastry, and a choice of omelette or fried eggs. All for €12.50! Cray! I got the OJ, cafe au lait, baguette (which came with butter and some delicious jam) and the omelette. Shortly after ordering, I remembered where I was and decided to check if the omelette (simply stated "omelette" on the menu) had any swine in it. Turns out it did, cause French people out swine in everything as a default lol. But I caught it just in time. All the food and drink were deliciously no-frills. Food was quick and hot. Service was helpful enough, though slightly distracted by the conversation she was having with the other waitress. It was a proper send off meal for sure.

Yelp
Nice little restaurant that is quite convenient for me to go to. Their steak tartare is excellent and I quite enjoyed the duck confit as well. Weirdly enough, my favorite thing about this restaurant might be the fries. I am not kidding you, the fries are so fucking good. The potato that came with the duck were also very very good. All in all, not necessarily a destination restaurant, but if you live in the quartier, definitely a wonderful brasserie to visit

Yelp
First meal in Paris after a long and tricky train ride from London. I have to say the bistro was quite impressive. Our server was quite helpful and translated the menu. I ordered the escargot as a starter which was quite good. For the entree I had the duck confit which was tasty. Can't wait to eat more French cuisine!

Yelp
We checked this little place out for dinner near our Airbnb. The service was wonderful! We sat out on the covered patio which was very quaint. The Pinot noir was delicate and Delish. I ordered the duck and my boyfriend got the salmon. It came out excellently prepared and hot! They speak English, which helped bc my French is not that good. Would recommend again.

Yelp
Our waitress was wonderful! Service was excellent, prices were good, and our food was delicious! I highly recommend the salmon and chicken curry. We had a side of fries, 2 glasses of wine, a mohito, 3 main courses, creme brule, and 2 cafe au lait and the bill was around 87 euro.

Yelp
The staff are so incredibly welcome and the food is very good. We stayed in t he neighborhood for a week and came back several times. Ask for Maggie at the bar. She is terrific and has a great repertoire of drinks to offer. The food is warm as well as the staff.

Yelp
Great food, drink and services. It was my second day in Paris and just found this cafe near the hotel. I ordered lobster and a cup of mojito, it was fantastic!!! Highly recommended.

Yelp
Nice place. I recommend the duck. Staff can be distracted some times but you end up with what you ask. They are really nice and will do their best to accomodate you.

Yelp
Came for a late lunch after long flight to Paris. The chef brought over the daily special board and tried to help us out. He spoke no English, just pure kindness & sweetness. We speak no French. We ordered the pig knuckle and the two meat specials (cold beef and pork roast), based on chef's recommendations; also duck confit and a salad. Granted We were very hungry but I'm a decent cook and we all love good food. This meal hit it out of the park. Well prepared, good ingredients and huge portions. The salad had a soft cheese wrapped in a thin paper like pouch, so good. The pork was not fatty just full of flavor and very moist. The cold roast beef was perfectly prepared. The duck confit was so tender and delicious I barely got a taste. The huge serving of sauté spinach really hit the spot. Beers were cold. Waiters were patient and helpful. I highly recommend this cafe if you want good good and some kindness

Yelp
My favourite cafe for hanging out in the untouristy 15e arrondissement. Lovely ageing Belle Epoque windows. Catch the breakfast rush as Paris goes to work. Quality croissants from the designer patisserie across the street. Old-fashioned French bar food - rillettes and toast, steak tartare etc.

Yelp
Great little restaurant/bistro in the 15th. Very inviting, good, flavorful food and not over priced. A main was about €12 euro, desserts €6. Good beer, wine was so so. All in all a ready good enjoyable meal in a nice Parisian setting. A definite recommendation of you are in the area or looking for french fare

Justyna K.

Yelp
Even though I live on the opposite side of Paris, and this is my go-to French restaurant in town. It's tucked away in the 15th arrondissement so it's not too touristy and the prices are incredibly low for such great food and portions. This is the place I bring all of my French friends and they love it just as much as I do. It's almost too good to be true! The atmosphere is buzzing and typically French, and it's always packed after 9pm, but still manages to be simple and cozy. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at a hotel close by and I was on crutches so we couldn't go too far away. We wanted something french and not too expensive. Cafe du roi was a highly pleasant surprise. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and really good food. Most if not all of the clientele was french, so it really had a local vibe. The foie gras salad was the best part! We liked it so much we ate there 3 out of our 4 nights in paris. We tried something different each night.
