Our stay at this hotel was, unfortunately, marked by a number of issues, particularly with the management. From the moment we arrived, the experience was tainted by the owner's rude and unwelcoming demeanor. There was no greeting or acknowledgment upon check-in, which immediately made us feel unwelcome. The first room we were assigned had no hot water. After raising the issue, we were moved to another room, which we appreciated. However, what followed was unprofessional and frankly embarrassing: afterwards the owner approached us in front of other guests to insist that the problem had been our fault. Despite our polite explanation and the fact that the receptionist later tested the water and confirmed the issue, the owner continued to publicly insist we were mistaken. This behavior was completely inappropriate and made us feel uncomfortable. It’s also worth noting that the hotel does not fully match its online description. It is advertised as having an art gallery, which, according to receptionist, has not been there since at least as long time as them joined on board. Additionally, while the hotel lists a pool as one of its amenities, it was not open even though our visit was in May. Furthermore, the pool is not directly connected to the hotel but located a short distance away. That said, we were kindly granted access to it and were able to enjoy it under the circumstances. On a much more positive note, the receptionist was exceptionally kind and welcoming. They provided us with great tips for exploring the area, which genuinely enhanced our stay. Lastly, the hotel’s restaurant was a highlight, the food was delicious. Overall, while there were some redeeming aspects—particularly the helpful receptionist, the quality of the food, and access to the pool—the experience was overshadowed by poor management and misleading information. We hope to see improvements in hospitality and communication in the future.

For a lot of places, the photos look fantastic, but the reality is a disappointment. The Auberge de Banne is different, the photos look great, but the reality is better still. It's a delightful place and the staff couldn’t be nicer or more helpful. I'd live here if I could.

Amazing place with a great and a nice big area in Front with a fountain and happy People around. Ariving here gives me a good feeling. The rooms are Lovely decorated, Great bedinggs and matraces - every thing done with Great Taste and Style. Our Dog was welcomed ( ok- 30 Euro per Night is much) but we know this before- it was clear. The food ( plat du Jour and a la carte ) is great , the breakfast was generous the location is perfect the price is fully satisfactory and the service is fully friendly and Swift. If I have the chance I will visit it again!

We had dinner here and it was incredible. Everything was delicious, and really big portion sizes. The view and setting outside is beautiful. It's also really amazing inside. Service was also really good. Perfect! We will definitely be coming back!

The restaurant; had a semi-impromptu lovely lunch here today, phoned ahead to check availability... Mathieu and Charlotte gave us a very warm welcome and looked after every need throughout the meal, from apéro to no-dessert (there's always next time!). Superb food, superb setting. It's a must-go! Thank you, and see you soon!

Went here for dinner and the service was very good. We were seated quickly, the staff was very friendly. We had the gratiné de sorrisi ricotta épinard, the salade ardéchoise, the carpaccio de bœuf and the ban burger. The food was very good, the burger is excellent! 10/10 would recommend

Yelp
We spent two weeks in Ardèche this summer and were looking for a nice restaurant dor our last day. The landlord of the house we rented had a full suggestion of restaurants and after looking on internet at advices we decided to go for Auberge de Banne. First great thing about it is the environment. The restaurant sits on the main square of Banne and has many servings outside which was very nice (until the wind becomes too cold!). We took Planche Ardechoise to share between the 4 of us as apetizer and it was very nice (though we did not like everything on it) and in very good quantity. Then we went for the dorade, the lamb and the ribs and a child menu. Everything was perfect but I have to give a special thumbs up for the ribs, fries and morilles risotto. Though we were fealing a bit full already we tried the dessert. We had the All Chocolate one and the suggestion from the chef and waitress Iced Nougat. Both were good but you definitely need to have aome space and undefinate love for chocolate to take the All Chocolate. Tasting good. Service was good, meal were served right on time. The little down is the access of the restaurant, Banne is a small village so you need to go through really narrow road to get to the top, not reassuring if you're not used to it. However everything has a cost!

Yelp
For such a small town, this place is a real treasure. This is the place to go is you're in the South Of France. The place itself is very beautiful, with a unique decor of French memorabilia of all ages. While you'll be eating, you'll notice some old lemonade bottles on a shelf, next to an authentic poster from the 1920's. The owners were there when I went, and it was a delight to meet them and to see how dedicated they were to please us. We were a party of seven and we all were super happy about the food. I had the "Ardeche RIBS" and though it's a smaller portion compared to American Ribs, I thought it was just enough. The potiron soup was light and creamy at the same time, and was perfect for a cold evening of November. For dessert, I had apple tart tatin, or a deconstructed apple tart. I loved it, it was simple and humble. It tasted like my childhood. The Auberge has a hotel section and my goal is to return and take a room for a few days. The surrounding and the city of Banne is such a unique location in this region, it deserves to be visited again.
