Auberge de Bel Air

"This granite-built farmhouse on the banks of the Aber Ildut cuts a picturesque figure with its large garden and lake. On the menu: the fish and seafood cuisine for which Brittany is so famed, eg fillet of pollack with lobster cream. A rustic setting in which to really unwind." - Michelin Inspector

Second time we have dinner in this lovely family run eestaurant a favourite of ours in the area. Well cooked and presented food without any fuss. The menu changes with the season but the great cooking doesn't. We had the foie gras (excellent), shrimps, and the cod. Highly recommended.

Superb lunch in a beautiful setting, we ate some of the best food we've had in France here! Imaginative, skilfully prepared dishes with an emphasis on local ingredients singing with fresh, taste-tingling flavours. Service was friendly and relaxed; we enjoyed not feeling rushed and appreciated the tranquil vibe of the place. We loved sitting out in the sunny garden, enjoying the views over the flower beds to the beautiful river Ildut. Afterwards, we walked through woodland on the GR34 to the town of Lanildut. Perfection!

Extremely peaceful location, delightful traditional property - full of character.|The bedroom (particularly the bathroom) we had is showing its age and need for maintenance and redecoration (shower door needs total replacement).|The bed looks uncompromising but proved to be one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in - such a peaceful location we slept very well.|Let downs? - food not that impressive - does not take much effort to put 8 prawns on a plate as a starter!|The owners are not that welcoming especially the chef - he never spoke to us despite cooking front of house and only 6 guests staying there (4 English). The lady who came in to serve breakfast would be far better front of house - she was very friendly and helpful).|Based upon the above it is doubtful we would stay here again or recommend

It's in a beautiful setting and meals are available to enjoy, except on Sunday for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is included. We didn't have the rack of lamb, but it looked so good! We enjoyed our dinner last night here. The breakfast was simple but enough. The room is comfortable and so is the bed. The tub in the bathroom is a jetted tub nicely shaped. We have a table in the room where my wife is busy doing her scrapbook. She informed me that we have seen 40 chateaus so far. Great trip. Nice relaxing place to stay!

Well off the beaten track, this restaurant was a great find for my husband's birthday lunch. Great service, fantastic food and a stunning location. Very well worth the price for a special occasion.

Lovely Auberge with great views, right on the water, quiet and clean. Highly recommend eating dinner one night since it was wonderful.

Lovely food served in the garden with a panoramic riverside view. I had the Foie Gras as a starter and a deliciously roasted monkfish. |The restaurant also serves food for the kids, like today they had chicken with pasta. |Absolutely a place to come back to next time we’re near Brélès!

This fine Auberge has just three rooms and is situated in the countryside to the west of Brest. Just outside the village it is down a short track which, although unmade, is easily traversed by car. The whole place has a very rural French air, and the decor is very eclectic with books and objets d'art scattered around. Our room overlooked the garden with views of the river and the en suite was very modern although compact. The garden is bounded on two sides by the estuary and a small river. The river is tidal at this point and so the river has an ever-changing appearance. There are lots of birds on the exposed river banks at low tide, including egrets and herons.||You can also eat here, but book ahead, and don't expect a meal on Mondays as they don't open the kitchen then. There are a couple of restaurants in the village which is a 10 minute walk only away. (We used the Jardin de L'Aude, review of which is available).||All in all a lovely experience, but a better understanding of the French language would have helped us. Also they prefer cash although a card machine is available.
