"Balzac was a regular guest at the Château de Saché, located right next door to this Auberge housed in a half-timbered building that has retained all its authentic charm behind its ivy-covered façade. Exposed beams, tiled floors, a fireplace and more contemporary tableware: this pair – chef Kevin Gardien and Stéphanie Marques – know how to look after their guests. The spotlight is on local produce from the Loire: poultry from Ingrandes-de-Touraine, trout from a fish farm in Langeais, saffron from Cheillé, cheese from Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine. The chef's cuisine is modern, but not obsessed with fashion, and his dishes are clear and delicious, with lovely sauces such as the one accompanying the Racan pigeon with beetroot in a salt crust, blackcurrant and rose geranium." - Michelin Inspector

We had a great dinner in this lovely village. Weather was beautiful so we enjoyed the tables in the garden. Service was great, spoke english and the sommelier had some great recommendations of local wines. And we ended up organising our next day with a visit to a winery and a lovely lunch there. Food was very good and beautifully presented. A perfect stop on our route and great value for money. Would definitely make a small detour to eat there again.

Loved the 12th century vibe. Food was amazing. Cartered for a 5 course vegetarian. Highly recommend. Matched wines were superb, but the portion of wine service was very small. You'd think for the amount you pay for matched, you'd get at least half glass.

Amazing food and lovely staff! This place definitely deserves a michelin star. We had menu decouverte and starting from amuse bouche to dessert and wide variety of drink menu, we were more than happy with the experience. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone. I didn’t speak French but the staffs were so helpful and kind. Most importantly, the food was amazingly good and the price is so cheap for its quality and the amount of food we got. 10000 out of 10 experience. Again, thank you to the chefs and staffs for this unforgettable experience!

Great food, and great ambiance. Not as expensive as I’d have thought.

Loved this place - so much care put into the meal and service. The setting is excellent, but the tastes were better. We had so many amuse bouches in the end, the wine list was good and it goes without saying that the cheese selection brilliant.

I had a fantastic dinner at the Auberge du 12ème siècle à Saché. The place is cozy, the staff is friendly and the food is exquisite. I chose the Calder menu in 7 courses, with local and seasonal products and wonderful wine pairings. The simple grilled melon and octopus with red pepper and basil juice was refreshing, as well as the succulent sweetbread with artichoke and brown beer reduction. I highly recommend this place for a gourmet meal in the Loire Valley.

Had a fantastic dinner here last night. The five course tasting menu and each course was amazing. Great service by a young team of servers. Lovely indoor space with great distancing between the tables. Looking forward to returning.

Well-conceived and expertly-prepared French cuisine at a more-than-reasonable price point in a handsome restaurant with professional yet unpretentious service in the center of a charming village. This is exactly the kind of restaurant you imagine, hope for, and then eventually despair of finding in rural France. I only wished I lived closer!
