A fine dining restaurant in a lovely old building with beautiful views overlooking a lake. Food quality and presentation is excellent; probably the best in the area. Service now is friendly but a lot more relaxed than it was many years ago. Despite the lovely views, the decor in the restaurant feels really outdated. And the choice of 80s pop background music is quite bizarre. The lounge area, however, is much more stylish and great for a pre-dinner drink. Drinks outside on a warm summer evening are also a pleasurable experience.

Excellent meal last night. Food was very very good. Staff were attentive and looked after my wife who had a dairy allergy very well. Really nice atmosphere in the restaurant with some music in the background which I enjoyed as I don’t particularly like restaurants where I feel I can hear other peoples conversations. Only small downside is they were low on beer which considering it was 7pm on Saturday was a little strange. Highly recommend and will be back.

The staff were all really well trained and professional in accommodating everyone and making people feel comfortable. I was so impressed by how kind and understanding they were! I could tell their manager really paid attention to training each staff. The food was lovely, some of the best salmon dish I've ever had. The ambience was perfect as well.

I visited Auberge du Lac this afternoon for a friends birthday and it was perfect! The grounds are beautiful, the food is delicious with impeccable presentation, and the service was well beyond 5*. The whole afternoon felt like a holiday! Bilal is such a kind and amazing person and made our visit extra special. Thank you so much!

We had a truly unforgettable experience, from start to finish we were greeted and served by incredibly attentive and friendly staff. The food was first class quality and we loved the added touches/compliments. As a vegetarian I was really pleased with how much flavour each meal packed and the range of options. My non-vegetarian partner was blown away by the freshness of ingredients and flavour of his meal too. The location feels incredibly special and the views of the grounds are just so relaxing. We will definitely be back to share this wonderful experience with friends and family.

Really enjoyed our meal there, and had a little walk around the grounds afterwards. We couldn't find fault with any of the dishes, and the complimentary dishes were also very good. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, just a really pleasant experience altogether.

If you want to have your Bridgerton moment, this is the place to go. Located in the old hunting lodge in Lord Brockett estate, Auberge du Lac is perfect for a special meal. We had the tasting menu and the food was well executed, good portion size. The staff were attentive. Highly recommend and would go again to try a la carte menu as I saw someone with a souffle for dessert!

Yelp
Review: 8 course tasting. Took care of non-alcohol and no fish request. I think the food really does speak for itself here and highly recommend it. Service is also top notch and as it was cold I was offered a lift actually from the restaurant manager and given a blanket if needed even though the walk was only around 5 mins. This is service over and above and just sets you off with a happy feel and you immediately feel like royalty.   We had the following: 8 Course Tasting Menu Roasted Jerusalem Artichoke, Wood Sorrel: crunchy with a selection of flavours. I have not tried before and was pleasantly surprised.  Heritage Beetroot (Goats Curd, Spiced Granola, Apple): Three-way Apple and granola with beetroot. This was a cold dish. Spicy tang of granola and mixture of great textures. Loved the way all the tastes work together. Again made my pallet refreshed with new tastes and I could not fault a single element.  Chicken and Ham Hock Pressing (Sage, Wholegrain Mustard Mayo, Apricot, Brioche crumb): Another cold dish but really well made. Pressed meat well cooked and you get an after taste of the same flavour but pleasant in that you get the enjoy for that bit longer. The dish is presented well and my favourite so far but I think I have more to come and more favourites to follow. The accompanied mayo was ok but felt like it had mustard in it and I am not a fan of mustard, so this is just a personal thing rather than any criticism.  Suckling Pig (Crispy Belly, Braised Neck, Mangalitza Black Pudding Croquette, Apple, Cime Di Rapa): A warm dish with an amazing mixture of earthy tastes all perfectly complementing each other. Another new favourite of mine and I don't eat much pork at all but I loved this dish. The Croquette especially (I would never normally order any black pudding) and the spinach both full of flavour. Small slivers of apple also worked well on the dish. The jus was nice but I loved each part of this dish which even on its own would make an excellent separate dish.  Hay Ash Lakeland Venison (Truffle Pomme Anna, Turnip, Chanterelle): Served warm and medium rare which was soft and succulent although I am not a fan of venison this was not harsh or gamey which I was expecting and tasted like steak. The Potatoes with truffle was delicate and again a flavour profile I am not used to but just melted in the mouth. The Turnip purée was amazing. Chanterelle mushroom again an excellent flavour. Another great dish. Auberge Waldorf Salad: Not had an original Waldorf salad before and although a fresh taste with multiple layers of flavour, I feel it was over complex for my pallet. Others I think would really enjoy this dish but my taste buds need a little more finesse to appreciate all the flavours coming from this salad.  Miso Caramel Mousse (Kinako Shortbread, Passionfruit Jam & Granita): Pre-desert cleanser with miso mouse and passion fruit. Light airy melt away mouse with fresh cold passion fruit sorbet and fresh base of passion fruit cutting away and a pleasure to digest and had the desired effect of cleansing the pallet.  Tiramisu (Mascarpone, Lady Finger Sponge, Cocoa, Marsala, Coffee Ice Cream): I don't like Tiramisu and I actually liked this as, so again another surprise, all light flavours but anyone who is a fan of Tiramisu should choose this especially as the recommendation comes from someone who would never order it and liked; it must mean it's the best.  All the dishes were truly worth every bite and should be shared and enjoyed ensuring you have the time set aside to really give credit to the full experience. I wish I had had the benefit of a trained pallet from a younger age. I feel you should always have the best the first time you try something new so you don't hate the ingredients and you have something of greatness to compare with.  Bill / Cost: £85.00 per head but came to around £100.00 with service charge and soft drinks.  Conclusion: Each dish was fully explained to me. Portions seem small but they are not. Eating alone and this taster menus is one for sharing with another to appreciate the experience. This is what life is about. I tried new dishes I would not normally order or try so I am happy that I did. It was an unforgettable experience.

Yelp
A very scenic place to lunch or dine. Absolutely fab in summer if you can afford it. Wine list is overpriced else I would have awarded 4 stars. food is pretty much up to scratch, though one of our starters was underwhelming. Posh 'roast & 3 veg' on Sunday lunch, at a fixed price, but good throughout just the same. Service was good. Somelier is very knowledgable and approachable, but Cloudy Bay SB at £65? It may be on allocation but they do make a lot of it. That said, did mine out a couple of decent bottles (one was Portugese red) at £30 or under. Lunch was £75 a head.

Yelp
I took my partner here on our anniversary one year. The food was brilliantly tasty, the location beautiful. Staff were helpful and the prices very reasonable. Even the wine pairing was excellent. Try and go on a warm summers day and you will fall in love with the place.
