"Two restaurants in one! Dishes to share and a concise menu set the scene at Lucienne (shrimp cooked over hot stones, tataki of tandoori beef, tempura of baby carrots), while Joséphine à Table offers a wine bar with traditional starters and a dish of the day (marbled ham, pork pie, chicken skewers, rice pudding). Brunch on Saturdays. Both establishments boast a pleasant patio and a friendly vibe – all of which washed down with tipples from Mâcon and Beaujolais." - Michelin Inspector

What a treat it was to stay here! We stayed in the Jeanne room. It was immaculate and everything you could possibly need or want was provided from toiletries to Damann tea. The breakfast was one of the best breakfast spreads we've had. The restaurants were both fantastic. Everyone we encountered was so kind. We fully recommend this wonderful little spot

Despite its position on the Main Street there is no serious traffic and you can park your car close by. This is a proper auberge with a lovely outside eating and drinking area plus a comfortable dining room. The bedrooms are well proportioned and modernised. Gabriel, the manager seemed to do almost everything including carrying up the suitcases, running the front desk and serving at dinner! An amazing feat as we never had to wait. The food was outstanding and extremely original. The bedroom v comfortable. Perhaps the pool could benefit from some heating but otherwise an exceptional experience. We will return!

My husband and I stayed here for 2 months. It was wonderful. We had lovely breakfast and dinner. The decor was so original and the room was incredibly comfortable- it even had air conditioning. We were some of the only tourists from America that were in town but everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We visited a few wineries and overall enjoyed our time here very much.

This is a beautifully designed auberge with very “coolly” decorated rooms, and fantastic food, all set in a very pretty hill-side village. Dinner involved a sharing menu for two people served on the terrace overlooking the quiet village centre. We enjoyed a spectacular gazpacho, very tenderly cooked lamb and a delicious chocolate fondant. Breakfast the following morning was just as good with a great range of patisserie, home made jam, yogurt and fruit.

We discovered this hotel when we were in the Macon area buying some wine. It rates two stars in the Michelin Guide and I am not sure that I would rate it that high. Our room was large and well set out with the bath and two wash hand basins in the open space of the whole area. The shower and lavatory were neatly closed in. Clean and very well designed though there are never enough places where you can put your sponge bag, electric toothbrush and anything else that you need when using the basins. ||||Our dinner is hard to describe. My partner thought that it was superb and would return tomorrow but, alas for me it was not a success, and I hasten to add that this was because I do not like spicy food. Perfect and highly imaginative cooking, delicious large and modestly priced glasses of champagne and an impressive wine list. ||An impressive choice of fruit, bread and cakes for breakfast. ||Exemplary service and the final bill was not at all unreasonable.

Had this fab Beaujolais a couple of nights ago staying yet again at the truly wonderful Auberge du Paradis in St Amour Bellevue.||We ate at the brilliant bistro rather than the Michelin starred restaurant (which is also excellent, but in an entirely different way) and I opted for the signature Poulet au Vin jaune aux morilles as a main course, which is probably my favourite chicken dish ever. A bucket load of morels included if you go for the extra cost morels option - well worth it even at 8 euros extra! ||The lovely St Amour d'Antan 2015 by Christophe Terrier (from a vineyard about 300m away! ) matched it perfectly. Thus is a strongly coloured, powerful and hugely rich, gamey and expressive gamay which captures the terroir and the vintage perfectly. At only 25 euros in a great restaurant, this has to be a bargain of the century wine. I am becoming a huge fan of modern Cru Beaujolais. Even in the gourmet restaurant you can't pay any more than 30 euros per bottle for Beaujolais. They even give you a Pritt stick to stick your Cork somewhere on the very creative ceiling or walls - great fun! ||I can't recommend this place highly enough. If you have not been you must try it - as well as the two in house restaurants (plus another 2* one opposite!) the best breakfast I have ever had served by the two most charming and chic hosts you will ever meet in a lovely boutique hotel or "restaurant with rooms" with the most exquisite taste in furnishing and interiors. What is there not to like?

We spent a night here en route to Ales, celebrating our wedding anniversary. This is a fabulous hotel - don't expect to be ridiculously pampered by the staff - yet it is quirky and individual and we loved it. We stayed in Gingembre room, which was spacious, beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable. The degustation menu was a complete treat, albeit lengthy, with first class cuisine throughout. Breakfast was served on the sunny terrace and was delicious. A really good find and we would definitely return.

We had a lovely room looking out on to the swimming pool, lovely view and pretty small terrace which our two dogs loved. This is a very lovely area fabulous views. The Auberge is definitely not the usual hotel stop. We had dinner in the restaurant a set menu. It was very good not outstanding but well presented. The dining room was fairly empty so it did lack atmosphere. The bar is stark but the waiter was very nice. Breakfast is plentiful and very tasty. Lovely tea choices.
