"Auberge du Vin tells you exactly what to expect in its name. Set on a private vineyard along the Andes mountains, this 28-room getaway located in Mendoza’s Uco Valley marries lo-fi elegance with the Auberge touch for luxury. A remote escape where the wine flows freely, the stars shine brightly, and the snow-capped mountains rise up majestically in the distance, this is one stop where all outside noise fades away." - Mark Fedeli

Difficult to believe this is actually a Marriott as claimed, but suppose it really is. It is very old and pretty tired. Several employees did say a renovation is coming very soon. The good news is that the rooms are quite large--both bedrooms and bathrooms. The breakfast buffet selection was minimal and unimpressive. The coffee however is very good. The staff in the restaurant tried hard and at breakfast made some fabulous lattes with their Nespresso machine. The dinners were largely unappetizing and under seasoned.Never had lunch there so don't know about that. The hotel bar is adequate.||The biggest complaint I have with this place is that on the day of travel from South Carolina to Chile where we stayed a few days prior to going over to Tupungato, I received an email from the front desk staff at this hotel that although my reservation was confirmed, they could no longer provide a room for me on the final day of the reservation with no attempt at offering an alternative place to stay for our last night in Argentina. So just minutes before boarding the plane to South America, I had no place to stay on the last night of our visit. Had to scramble to get a room at another place nearby. The couple we traveled with are Marriott Bonvoy Titanium, and they were also impacted but the hotel quickly booked them at Gaia. They asked the hotel staff to help us too, but the hotel declined to do so, presumably because we don't have Titanium status.||This staff was very unprofessional and unless you're willing to be treated like you don't matter, I'd recommend finding another place to stay.

Really cool place. Actually it seems out of place being so far off the road. Zoom out on Google maps and the actual building is 1.5km to the NW of the road entrance. The owners dogs were in the lobby, and later on were by our patio door - being dog lovers we thought it strange but totally ok. This place has awesome views from the rooftop and a nice pool courtyard. We did not eat their resturant, but it looked nice enough. Our room was totally engulfed by the vinyards.

Very nice hotel that is located perfectly if you are going to visit the bodegas in the area. Great service, very good food. The hotel room was very nice as well. The only really drawback with this place is that when you are by the pool area or have a room on the bottom floor there is no view over the mountains. Otherwise it's a great hotel.

Wonderful property amid gorgeous vineyards and stunning snow-capped Andes. Big room with kitchen and lovely view. I didn't realize they didn't make their own wine but they had a good selection nonetheless. Friendly and helpful staff. There's some untapped potential in this place but nothing that mars one's stay. Know that it feels a bit deserted - so if you're looking for solitude in a beautiful location, it's perfect.

This “portfolio” Marriott hotel unfortunately misses the mark in multiple ways. 1- The road to the hotel is in desperate need of repair. The main highway leading to the hotel is being repaired and it is a bit treacherous but once at the entrance, it becomes a minefield of rocks and potholes. Not really representative of a 5 star property. 2- Upon arrival, at 2300, I was curtly asked why I had not answered my email regarding the time of arrival. They also had inquired whether we might join the restaurant for dinner. While it seems like a courtesy to ask this, I am not checking my emails while on vacation. Perhaps a phone call might have been a way to handle this or not scold me for not responding. I don’t owe a hotel a response. My life does not revolve around a hotel schedule. I was also reminded that breakfast was not included and it would be $18 dollars per comensal. I was already put off at check in so I decided paying $230 per room did not warrant a response at the time of check in. 3- As a member of a Marriott Bonvoy I was given an upgraded room with the view of the mountains. The view was absolutely gorgeous and breathtaking. The mattress in this 5 star hotel did not have a mattress cover and it’ll the springs were not protected from one side to the other. This meant that every time my partner moved on the bed. So the bed proved uncomfortable and not restful. The second bedroom has the same so it’s not like they “forgot” to put a mattress cover. It’s probably standard at this resort. Having stayed at the Hilton Mendoza the night before, the difference was quite evident. 4-The choices at the $18 buffet breakfast were so sparse and anemic that decided to order à la carte. It took two tries to get a simple omelette right. The hotel is away from a town or area with cafés or restaurants so unless going out for activities, one is trapped for the food choices offered at this place and at their prices. 5- The pool area is gorgeous although the grounds by the courtyard were poorly maintained. 6- There was a little kitchenette on our room, and a coffee maker but the coffee was instant (torrado, meaning of the lowest quality kind, essentially undrinkable). 7- For the seasoned international traveler, this hotel is not a good choice when it comes to price/convenience/value. I had booked this hotel for my party and talked it up thinking it was going to be a retreat in the mountains, it wholly missed the mark.

We stopped off for a night at Auberge du Vin on our way from Mendoza to a hotel in the mountains, and were shocked by the discrepancies between the property’s website and the actual hotel. I’m not sure I’ve ever stayed somewhere so deeply depressing before while paying so much. The design of the hotel is truly terrible - despite stunning views of the countryside the (dirty-looking) pool and restaurant are inside a “courtyard” so you can’t see anything. The impression is of a property that ran out of money before completing the construction and then hasn’t been maintained since. The staff clearly are doing their best and very pleasant but you should avoid this hotel at all costs. All the other guests seemed as bewildered and dispirited as us to have found ourselves in this total dump. Luckily for us we only wasted one night here.

We had a relaxing time at this hotel. The views of the mountains never gets old. It was clean. The service was good. The food was absolutely amazing. It’s great to have such good quality dinner and drinks at the hotel as I did not want to go out at night on such dark roads.
