Our dinner was absolutely amazing. The waiter (with glasses and black hair) was extremely nice and gentle during all the dinner. The food was really good, I appreciated most of all the starter (poche egg) and the mail (beef bourguignon). The atmosphere is elegant and cozy. Hope to come back soon!

I visited Auberge on a Saturday evening with my partner for a date night. We have started with oysters, and had onion soup, escargots, confit de canard and chocolate mousse. Oysters and chocolate mousse were nice and onion soup was amazing. I 100% recommend it. But the rest were not that great. Escargots were way too buttery to the point that you couldn’t taste anything else; neither the herbs nor escargot itself. Confit de canard was too dry and too hard. Service was also quite slow. It has taken 3 hours between the time we entered and the time we left, and we are not slow eaters. Tables are also too close to each other so it may be a bit difficult to talk if you have noisy neighbors. 4 points for the amazing soup, if it wasn’t for that it would be 3.

Disappointing Experience in Amsterdam – Poor Service and Unwelcoming Atmosphere I had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately, our experience was far from enjoyable. The main issue was the rude behavior of one of the waiters who wasn’t serving us directly but was the one who seated us at our table. When we were leaving, he insisted on closing the door, presumably because of the cold. The problem? My child was still inside, and we hadn’t exited yet! It was an unnecessary and rude interaction that really soured the entire experience. On top of that, the service was overall disappointing. It felt like we were invisible to the staff, possibly because we came with children. It seemed like they had little patience for our kids, who, of course, didn’t eat the food like adults. They were expected to sit quietly without any leeway, and when they pulled out a snack they same rude waiter told us it wasn’t allowed. I get it, but it's kids. Why wouldn't you have something for kids then to order? It's impossible to order 3-4 course meal for kids with snails. It’s frustrating when a family-friendly atmosphere is missing, and you’re treated like an inconvenience. Additionally, I never been served a food where the waiter just pass me the plate and I have to put it on the table on my own. Come on is it restaurant recommended by Michelin guide or a fast food chain where they don't pay attention on how they serve the food?! If you a restaurant it's a huge mistake and unacceptable. As for the food, it was just okay—not terrible, but nothing memorable either. Given the lack of hospitality and the general unwelcoming vibe, I honestly don’t think it’s worth the visit if you're in Amsterdam! We were really looking forward to a great meal and a pleasant experience, but sadly it's just not the case. Never again!

Really a great dinner. We came with the whole family and they took great care of the younger ones with thin fries and duck breast. And for the adults it was a taste pallet galore! Oysters and champagne, lovely asparagus or escargots to start, our mains were duck breast, steak (one of the best in Amsterdam) and sol! Amazing. Grand desserts with funky presented profiterol(no es). Finish with French Cafe and you roll out happy. All for a fair price with fantastic knowledgeable service from Patrick who also knew every wine on the menu personally!

April 2024 Good food in a good atmosphere with good, nice attending staff. Book in advance it's almost always fully booked. The only minor point would be acoustics. Food was great, classic French with a set menu to choose from at real affordable price and since this week also a la carte. Lot of variety of wines, also by the glass. We need more restaurants like this, real good food, nicely served at a good price ...

Auberge is special, our host could not have taken more care of us if he tried, this is a top end spot and expect everything that goes with that. Beautiful little well stocked cellar, we settled on 2 Pomerols, about time, well received! For those who make it there, enjoy!

We ate here last night and we’re unpleasantly surprised. We’d eaten here many times and always found the waiting staff to be excellent. But last night we had a different experience. We were not offered to taste the wine (had to ask) and had a very unfriendly response when we did ask. It felt a bit like we were serving him! Not a nice experience we will not be rushing back!

I went with a friend for dinner. The food was delicious with reasonable selections of wine. It was quite noisy in the restaurant so a bit difficult to talk.
