Auberge Le Cabaliros

"This pleasant village "inn" halfway between two famous passes – Col d'Aubisque and Col du Tourmalet – stands surrounded by the peaks of the Pyrenees. The menu features wonderful traditional dishes that are big on flavour and nicely presented: noir de Bigorre black pork loin, braised sweetbreads, Pyrenean trout. Pretty little guestrooms available!" - Michelin Inspector

A great boutique hotel in a beautiful quiet setting with amazing mountain views. The staff were incredibly nice, professional and helpful. A great stay for a couple, a true gem 💎 We already want to come back!

I chose the Cabaliros because I wanted to spend three days cycling in the area. I didn't realise the hotel also has a gourmet restaurant and I ate there twice - if you get a chance to savour the garbure dinner then go for it - traditional fare extremely well done. I went back for seconds - I had ridden up the Aubisque and Spandelles so I felt I could. I'd definitely go back if I was in the area again

This a fantastic place to stay if you want to explore the Pyrenees from Argelès Gazost. Tucked away above the town with incredible views, the service from the team is always friendly and first class. The breakfast is generous and the restaurant very high quality.

The food was delicious (they have a highly qualified chef) and the service was considerate... the staff remembered useful details about our preferences, when we were ordering our meals. It was noticeable that, when we mentioned our hotel by name, people in the area reacted favourably and clearly knew of it even some distance away.|In mild weather, you can eat on the patio (there are canopies, should it rain) with the valley view.|The rooms are well-appointed and clean and we had beautiful views down the valley.|The staff went out their way to be helpful.|It has to be admitted that the road access to this village in the foothills of the Pyrenees was not really designed with modern cars in mind; but that's down to history, not the hotel. It can be reached and is worth the effort.|We are entirely happy to recommend this hotel and will certainly hope to visit again, if our travels take us to that area.

I spent three nights in this fabulous hotel with great very friendly helpful staff, it’s situated in the heart of the Pyrenees in a small village with a superb restaurant and sixty metres from the pub, I couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay.

Over the last twenty years of eating here on and off with friends, family and clients I have never been disappointed. M. Saint Martin is dedicated to his food and every morsel is delicious. I find it amazing that he has maintained such high standards for so long at such reasonable prices. Serving only simple and honest regional dishes with local wines M. Saint Martin combines sincerity with quality and flair. ||||A warm welcome is assured by his wife and the rest of the family are either working in the kitchen or looking after you. The view from the terrace makes for a wonderful decor during the warm summer months while the open hearth fire makes for a warm welcome during the cold winters. Altogether very relaxed and a gem not to be missed. Looking forward to my next visit!

We stayed two nights. The room was comfortable. The view along the valley below was superb and we had Red Kites flying past the window in the evening. The food in the restaurant was very good, we ate there on both evenings. Good breakfast too.||||Free wifi. Free parking. Very helpful staff. ||||All in a very quiet location.

We have spent a night there and had a dinner, and out experience seems to be different from many's reviewing this place.|The room was tiny (I don't know if it was 9 sq.m.), there is no elevator, so if you have heavy suitcases or can't walk - it's impossible, we had no view, and overall we did not want to stay any longer than one night.|Dinner (and apparently it is a Michelin restaurant) was good, but not amazing. And for the price I thought it was not even that great. And I am comparing the price/quality to New York. |Would we stay again? If it is cheaper and we would have the view - yes. For the price we paid and that tiny ugly room - no way. And you can eat elsewhere
