Auberge Nicolas Flamel

"As well as being a wealthy bourgeois and one-time owner of this house, the oldest in Paris (1407), was Nicolas Flamel also an alchemist? Historians still disagree, but food connoisseurs are in no doubt that the chef transforms every ingredient he touches into culinary gold. Langoustine, Belgian endive and a clementine-flavoured consommé of claws; pithivier of mallard, foie gras and truffle; confit of quince with kalamansi and ginger: dishes that are perfectly balanced, delicately flavoured, intelligently composed and free of superfluous frills." - Michelin Inspector

My first Michelin restaurant. I walked away with a beautiful experience, but my stomach couldn't handle all the different ingredients. I'm not allergic to anything, but something didn't agree with me. We tried the tasting menu, but had to stop mid-way because it was too much food for me.

Thank you to Antoine and Bathilde for making my experience amazing with your help explanation taking care of me and smiles

We visited Auberge Nicolas Flamel for New Year’s Eve and opted for the five-course menu. The food was delicious, and the number of courses was perfectly sufficient to make for a satisfying dining experience. The service was also attentive and professional. However, there were a couple of downsides that we’d like to point out. Firstly, the dining room was quite cold, and there was an uncomfortable draft around our feet, which made it hard to fully relax and enjoy the evening. Secondly, there is no drinks menu available, which means you have no way of knowing the prices for beverages beforehand. We ordered tea, which was served in a teapot for two cups, but by the time it was poured, it was almost cold—likely due to how long it steeped before being served. When we asked for a fresh pot, the same issue occurred, and the tea was brought back lukewarm. To make matters worse, we were charged €36 for just four cups of tea (€9 per cup). If you’re going to charge that much for tea, it should at least be served hot. It felt very odd and disappointing to drink cold tea at such a fine restaurant. Overall, while we enjoyed the food and the service, these issues with the drinks and temperature left us with mixed feelings about the experience.

The absolute best tasting food I’ve ever eaten and the wine pairing was fabulous! Lovely atmosphere & fantastic service.

Google
Amazing experience. The food and service were unlike anything I've ever experienced! Incredibly attentive and accommodating staff. We were given a small history of the house as well as a very through description of the wonderful food. They accommodated my husband's vegetarian diet and it was equally as delicious as everything else and the bartender made us some amazing Mocktails. Best experience at a restaurant we've ever had in all of Paris

This establishment is a compact yet elegant dining venue, where every dish is a delightful revelation. As you savor each bite, you can discern the chef's myriad creative concepts in dish preparation, skillfully blending diverse flavors and textures on the plate. The culinary presentation is not only visually pleasing but also intricately nuanced in taste. The entire team demonstrates exceptional professionalism and warmth, making dining in this historic edifice a truly gratifying experience.

Google
Wife and I went there on a Wednesday night expecting a great meal and it truly exceeded our expectations. Their new chef seems to be settling in nicely. As excellent as the food offerings were, the service and sommelier were more so. The service was relaxed, gracious, and attentive. The wines pairings were outstanding. Many wines I’d never had tried before. Overall, the best culinary experience I’ve ever had.

My wife and I came here for a special meal while visiting Paris. The staff were all attentive and very friendly, which made us feel comfortable despite the upscale setting. Furthermore, we had a number of unexpected dietary restrictions that the staff were more than happy to accommodate on the spot. The ambiance was modern and refined, yet still maintained the historic components of the building. We also appreciated the intimate dining area and the ability to see directly into the kitchen from your table. As for the food, it was perfect! Such fresh flavours, with combinations that we had never tried before. We got the three course lunch which had a number of additional tasters between courses. Everything paired well together, and we left feeling very satisfied. We would highly recommend this restaurant!

Yelp
A fantastic dining experience in a historic structure (the oldest stone house in Paris). The seven course tasting menu was superb. Every dish from the amuse with an oyster accompanied with sabayon and caviar, the first starter with four different preparations of white and green asparagus, to the chicken and rabbit mains, and desserts that included an usual but delicious sorbet, was outstanding. Service was excellent and the wine pairings well-chosen. I highly recommend Auberge Nicolas Flamel!

Yelp
My wife, a friend, and I had the first planned meal of our two-week visit to Paris at Auberge Nicolas Flamel. We were all still adjusting to the time differential between the States and France, so we were there for lunch. The auberge is an old stone building on a smaller street. I was a bit relieved that the hosts, servers and sommelier all very kindly spoke English with us. We were seated in the upstairs dining room, which was brightly lit from the windows facing the street and the crisp white walls framed by the exposed timbers of the building. We started with a glass of Duval-Leroy Rosé Prestige champagne, which ended up being a theme of our entire trip. The sommelier described the champagne house and winemaker to us. We enjoyed it so much that we ordered a bottle to accompany our meal. I thought that we all ordered the Menu Déjeuner (entré, plat, dessert), but think that we ended up receiving the Signature en 5 Temps (amuse-bouche, entrée, plat, pré-dessert, dessert). In any case, the entire meal was delicious. I'll post photos and descriptions of each of the five "temps", but in addition to being delicious, each was quite fun. The pace of the meal was perfect, and the servers and sommelier were all professional in their presentation of the food and drinks. We really enjoyed an excellent meal.

Yelp
One of my best dining experiences. The service was stellar and paced well. The food was creative and beautiful. The taste was just right. I ordered the 5 course meal and my guy ordered the 3 course meal. We also received some extra items which where so good. I enjoyed the beef pastrami with caviar. The lobster was fantastic. The asparagus was done well with mousse and something else. The desert was so tasty

Yelp
If you want a gastronomic adventure come here! Michelin star rated restaurant, this fully modernized historic home of French scribe and alchemist Nicolas Flamel, is perfectly suited to the magic that comes from the kitchen! Flavours are truly unique and every aspect of taste, textures, presentation and balance are all carefully curated in every dish. The kitchen is on view and the chef can be seen working closely with his staff so that each plate is perfect. You'll have to go there to experience this little gem for yourself but you will have a choice between a five or six course offering. This time around blue lobster was on the menu and it was absolutely my favourite! Service comes with a friendly smile and in English if you prefer. Bon apetit!

Yelp
Lunch menu @ Nicolas Flamel. Service was impeccable. Food was excellent - we loved the raw razor clams and the duck.

Yelp
As we depart Paris and our last meal. If you're looking for a truly exquisite dining experience, look no further than Nicolas Flamel. From the moment you step inside this chic and elegant restaurant, you know you're in for a treat. The preset menu is a journey through culinary excellence, showcasing the finest ingredients and flavors in each carefully crafted dish. The amuse-bouche sets the tone for the meal, with a delightful combination of ortie, cochon, and caviar Osciètre. It's a small but mighty start to the meal, leaving your taste buds tantalized and ready for more. The first entrée of langoustine, herbes et fleurs, and caviar Kristal is a work of art on a plate. The langoustine is cooked to perfection, with a delicate balance of flavors that blend seamlessly together. The second entrée of asperge blanche, cacahuète, and moutarde is another standout dish, with the nuttiness of the peanut and the tanginess of the mustard perfectly complementing the delicate asparagus. Moving on to the main courses, the blue lobster with morels, bone marrow, and peppered seaweed is an absolute masterpiece. The lobster is cooked to perfection and the earthy flavors of the morels are a perfect match. The poularde de Culoiseau, romaine grillée, and lard de Colonnata is another standout dish, with the smoky flavor of the romaine and the salty lard perfectly complementing the tender poularde. The pre-dessert of kiwi, salicorne, and smoked chili is a refreshing palate cleanser, paving the way for the dessert courses. The first dessert of artichoke with vanilla and tonka is an unexpected combination that works beautifully together. The second dessert of chocolate with marine herbs and algae is a true feast for the senses, with the sweet chocolate perfectly offset by the briny flavors of the herbs and algae. Overall, the dining experience at Nicolas Flamel is a true indulgence, with each dish showcasing the skills and artistry of the talented chefs. The service is impeccable, with knowledgeable staff who are passionate about the food and the restaurant. If you're looking for a culinary adventure that will leave a lasting impression, Nicolas Flamel is the place to be.

Yelp
Very delicious food, super nice service and very interesting story of Nicolas Flamel and his house, where the restaurant is situated.

Yelp
Went for 8 course tasting menu - everything was so delicious! We clear at the Chef's Table for a combo birthday / anniversary dinner. Everything from service to music to food to atmosphere was top notch. The sommelier selected delicious wines for us throughout the meal. Top highlights: - razor clam starter - blue lobster dish - walnut ice cream - chicken (concept based off of chicken Caesar salad flavors)

Yelp
I would give this restaurant a 100/10 if I could. Amazing atmosphere, service, staff and most important of all - food. We had the lunch menu, wine, and cheese tasting plate and couldn't recommend this combo more. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
We came here for lunch while visiting Paris for a few days. Great service and very good food. We all enjoyed our lunch here. I highly recommended this restaurant.

Yelp
What a great experience! Not just a meal! I had the 3 course lunch, which was actually 4 courses because they start you off with an appetizer and added the cheese course before dessert. The space itself is small but elegant and the service is the same. Several nicely dressed servers attended to us and were so kind and friendly, making us feel like their guests. Each dish was beautifully presented and delicious. Each was a complex mix of flavors and textures. We sat where we could see the chef at work and that enhanced the meal. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
As a family of foodies and having two young Harry Potter fans, our family was excited to snag a lunch reservation at Auberge Nicholas Flamel. The restaurant provides a brief history of the house inside the menu which was neat for our Harry Potter fans at the table. The day we visited they offered a 3 course lunch or a 5, 6 & 8 course chef selections menu. We opted for the lunch menu due to the unpredictability of our boys' behavior. We enjoyed the green bean starter, fish entree option and dessert. In addition to this, they provided a trio of Hors d'oeuvres, bread and an extra dessert. The staff were patient with our 5 and 7 year old boys, the service was exceptional and the food was delcious. We look forward to doing the 8 course during our next visit.

Yelp
Loved this place! We went here for lunch. The presentation of the food and taste is as expected from a Michelin star restaurant. Servers were good company and had a great sense of Humor. The setting of the room was comfy and roomy. Chef Gregory Garimbay was kind enough to come out to take a picture with us. Definitely worth a try!

Yelp
My first Paris trip review has to be for this place. No doubt about it. This place was recommended by my coworker. Extremely sad she didn't get to try this place during her trip to Paris. I recommend you make a reservation a week before to ensure you have a spot! Quite simply- the best meal ever! This restaurant was built in 1407, oldest remaining stone house in Paris. Has a very comfortable and elegant ambiance! We came for lunch and asked for the 25€ prefix menu with wine pairings (70€ for the both of us). It's a great deal and is a nice, slow meal that is also beautifully served. All dishes were exquisitely prepared. The service was incredible and warm! If I were to eat the same meal in Boston, it will cost me an arm and a leg. I highly recommend eating here on your Paris trip! I definitely will find a way to come back! :D Fun fact: Flamel was an alchemist and a character in Harry Potter.

Oh C.

Yelp
Loved this restaurant! The service was upbeat and attentive. The artistic plates such a joy! The interior is 2 levels and we were seated upstairs. It's a gorgeous space in a historic building. We had the chef's 5 course with wine. So happy to have experienced this restaurant on our last night in my favorite city.

Yelp
Merci merci! This restaurant has been a family legend since New Year's Eve 2007 when my husband and I dined here while my son was in utero. Tonight at long last we returned from New York and celebrated again - an exquisite meal, joyous staff, gifted new chef taking on a beautiful tradition. We are sated, happy, delighted with life. Felicitations and bonne chance - the future is bright!

Yelp
Good solid meal. The food is good and not that bad of a final bill. For two apps, two entrees, two desserts, and one glass of wine it was only 120 euros. There were mostly tourists in there but honestly if the foods good who cares. There were a few improvements that could have made the dishes even better. The Salmon probably doesn't need to be on the menu, the vegetarian pie probably could use less sauce, and the scuffles should have cream/chocolate sauce instead of ice cream but some of those might be personal preference. Dinner * Mushrooms (Excellent) * Salmon (Ok) * Lobster (Excellent) * Vegetarian Pie (Good) * Grand Marnier Souffle (Great) * Chocolate Souffle (Great)

Yelp
In a city full of fabulous restaurants it's hard to pick a favorite. Our favorite Paris restaurant is Auberge Nicolas Flamel. It is located in Le Marais and within the residence of Nicolas Flamel. It claims to be the oldest stone house in Paris dating back to the 1400's. History buffs can have a good time researching the life of this famous Alchemist Flamel and modern readers will find the bon monsieur in Harry Potter! The food is exquisite... much to the taste of modern French diners. We seemed to be the only non-French persons in the restaurant. It is apparently a place where Parisians go for a special celebratory lunch or dinner. Be sure to enjoy an amuse bouche...unique and delicious. Portions are appropriate for persons wishing to enjoy a complete meal, appetizers through dessert. Wonderful. Pricing was very acceptable, much less than we would pay for the same meal around here. Service is professional and friendly. English menus are available. Auberge Flamel is a very romantic spot and the wait staff helps to promote this atmosphere. Your concierge can book it for you or you can book ahead on-line.

Yelp
We were one of the only people speaking English. They accommodated us as a walk in. The service was terrible. But the food was fantastic. One star for having to wait nearly 20 min for water. Normally It would have been two but the food was that good. Dress up

Yelp
The charm and history of the original building lends to the elegantly understated decor. The amuse bouche of the two cheese puffs were a savory welcome. The lunch menu includes either starter and main or starter, main and dessert, ether way you also get a drink (wine) and espresso, all for under 25€ ($33 US). The next table was having the shrimp with zucchini cream and it looked so good that I chose that as my starter. It was a wonderfully creamy soup with delicately sautéed shrimp that was presented with an artistic flourish as the waiter poured the zucchini cream in three moves to fill the spaces in between the shrimp. I chose the Dorade Royale, or gilt head sea bream, which is probably my favorite fish in Europe. If anyone believes they don't like fish, I would suggest they try this one. The dish was served with an assortment of fresh green vegetables and a purée of eggplant. The fish was remarkably tender and the green vegetables as fresh as they were pretty. I didn't care for the eggplant purée, mostly because it was bland.

Yelp
INCREDIBLE LUNCH DEAL! For 25€, I had a meal worth twice that and I'm now anxious to come back for the full degustation! The amuse--foie gras mousse--literally melted on my spoon. I started with the butternut cream and smoked duck--savory, smooth, rich and delicious alongside the two small loaves I received on arrival. For main course, I had the whitefish, which was smooth, perfectly-cooked, and served alongside a purée and a sauce that were a lovely combination. The grated pickled radish and clams were wonderful accents. And then dessert--poached pears served with a mascarpone mousse and vanilla ice cream. If this set lunch is any indication of the quality food coming from this kitchen, the bib gourmand eating is perhaps inadequate. I found service attentive and flawless. The ONLY thing I can think of that wasn't perfect was this one scale on my fish... ;) I will be back soon!

Yelp
Great ambiance and the oldest building in Paris. The white martini is a must to try. The beef and lamb are delicious. I strongly recommend both dishes. The ravioli starter is also one of a kind. The staff are knowledgeable and very accommodating. Kinda unusual for Paris!!! :)

Yelp
Of all the French restaurants we tried during our two-month stay in Paris, this is the best one in its price range. We had lunch there three times and every time we were very happy with the food and service. We also loved the historical building that the restaurant resides in. It was completed in 1407, which makes it the oldest stone building in Paris.

Yelp
After a long day of traveling through Paris, we were looking for a nice place to have dinner that was close to our hotel. After doing a bit of searching, we came across Auberge Nicolas Flamel. We didn't have a reservation and it was listed as fine dining, but we thought we'd take a chance anyway. We're so glad we did. We walked into this quiet, sweet little spot and loved the ambiance. The server was very nice and had a good sense of humor. We ended up choosing the tasting menu, and did not regret this at all! It was very yummy, and we loved the whole experience.

Yelp
Located on a small side street in the 3rd. It is only a short walk from the metro. Auberge Nicolas Flamel is a wonderful restaurant. The restaurant is small but has a very nice layout. They have two floors, the downstairs was quiet and reserved, the upstairs was a bit louder and a more lively. The food quality and presentation was perfect. We tried their 3 course menu were very pleased with each selection. Service was nicely timed between each course. Overall a perfect evening. One of our very best meals in Paris. Reservations are necessary.

Yelp
The ambience, the food, even the service, too- Nicolas Flamel is the French experience for you! Located in the oldest house in Paris city, dine on rich, tasty food that`s served so pretty. The historical roots include alchemy, but I don`t believe he made gold successfully... We made a reservation since the place is so small, and it filled up fast, but wasn`t loud at all. We walked from the 3rd quarter in Le Marais, it didn`t take long even at a slow pace. Try the menu of the day and it won`t disappoint, you have to come try this romantic French joint!

Yelp
This a very authentic French restaurant that is brimming with character. The building is from 1407 and is the oldest building in Paris. The interior and the decor is all very true to the era and is very charming and cozy. Very dimly lit, fresh flowers, candles throughout. Make a point to go upstairs and explore the building. A warning for tourists, our waiter didn't speak very good English but he was very helpful and attentive and recommended a nice wine with my meal. They have a small menu with a number of tasty options as well as two different prix fixe menus. Our total was around 80 Euros, so not an inexpensive place but well worth the experience. Just a warning that the name of the restaurant is not on the exterior, the picture of the building posted here by reviewer Stephanie was helpful in finding the place.

Yelp
A small gem in Le Marais, excellent food for a very fair price. The wine list accommodates all budgets too with Grands Cruz de Bourgogne at affordable price. The service is incredibly nice. L'Auberge Nicolas Flamel makes gastronomy approachable, you should all go!

Yelp
Oddly, the thing that everyone else seems to love about this place is the thing I found most disappointing - the atmosphere! I wanted to go somewhere for an awesome final night in Paris with my girlfriend. I saw all the awesome reviews which, combined with the fact that this place happened to be down the street from our apartment, seemed to guarantee that this was a guaranteed win. I phoned them up on Thursday, and asked for reservations for Friday. "For tomorrow? No, I'm afraid that's not possible." "Oh, it's not possible for tomorrow? That's too bad." (I was crestfallen!) "Actually...one moment please, one moment." (on hold) "OK tomorrow? That should be fine. What time?" "Oh wow, really? That's great! I was thinking 7:00, but any time is fine." (I was stoked, but ready to be told that the only time available was either 5:00 or 10:30 or something) "Ok, 7:00." That was strange. Well, we show up for our reservation, and there's only one other couple in the restaurant! We sit down, and the vibe is just strange. For one, they have no music playing at all, which made the emptiness of the place even more crushing. Seeing the ceiling-mounted speakers, I asked if they might put on some music, but they said they couldn't. The decor is also odd, with the white chairs against the white tablecloth. The place seemed to be trying to be formal, but there was an American family with kids next to us, with the dad wearing jeans. I didn't really get the impression that French people went here. Food-wise, things were actually pretty tasty. My girlfriend's scallops were good, though small. I loved my dish, which was the 7-hour roasted lamb, served under a tasty crusty baked top. TLDR: Tasty food, but odd & touristy atmosphere.

Yelp
Fabulous food (inexpensive set menu for lunch) in a cozy location down a side alley in Paris. The attention to detail, presentation, and flavours were Michelin quality. Service was prompt and friendly which does not always happen when it is a single female diner. Highly recommended.

Yelp
A wonderful meal here for our family. For appetizers, I had the Tatin with foie gras. I thought the foie gras was delicious and happy that it wasn't a terrine. However I found the apple Tatin part uninteresting. My wife had the L'Oeuf which was egg with asparagus, she thought it was delicious. Or mains were the beef filet, which had an eggplant cannelloni and reduction as a sauce. Cooked perfectly. Very nice but you can't beat the quality of the beef you get back in the US. I had the lamb, which was coined for over 7 hours (or so they say) and thought it was delicious with strong lamb flavor coupled with vegetables. The lamb was a winner although bites were, at times, a tad salty. The chocolate souffle, passion fruit soufflé and grand Marnier soufflé were each outstanding. My biggest complaint was the lack of air conditioning. Our waiter spoke English so no language issues.

Yelp
Hands down our favorite meal and restaurant in Paris. A local recommended this place to us, and we couldn't have been happier. My fiancé and I went to this restaurant after we had gotten engaged that day, and we had the 5 course meal and got glasses of champagne and wine. Everything was so good, and the service was great. HIGHLY recommend and I also would recommend getting a reservation ahead of time.

Yelp
ATTENTION! NERD ALERT! HARRY POTTER SIGHTING! Now Julie before me says that this isn't Nicolas Flamel's actual abode, but Frommer's says it was. If you've read HP and the Sorcerer's stone, you'll know all about him. If you haven't, well, you suck. So this place is supposedly the Real Mr. Flamel's home, which he left as a shelter if the people there promised to pray for his eternal soul. I love the way this influenced his character in the book. Could JKR BE any cooler? Love it! p.s. We didn't eat here, so I can't comment on the food.

Yelp
We decided to come here because the apartment we stayed in was only two minutes walk away. But wow, completely worth it. Hidden in some typical back alley Parisian street, if you weren't looking properly you'd miss it, we discovered it's the oldest inn in Paris, dating back to the 1300-1400s I believe. And how often do you find a wonderful fine dining French in a restaurant with that much history. If you check their website you can read the whole story about Nicolas Flamel. Thankfully they could speak English (once we asked if they speak English, in French) and the waiter gave us English menus. Now you need to book in advance here, no walk ins. Especially for dinner. They saw us as a couple, so they put us in a little romantic corner together. We chose the 5 course menu, with choices ambudent. This was the absolute best French dining we'd experienced. The food was served in decent sized portions, so by the time the main came, I was full. The atmosphere was calming and intimate but only louder when the night ruled on and more customers arrived. We dined on a Wednesday night and they were packed out, upstairs and downstairs. That's insane... We tried a mix of food: lamb, beef, seafood, veggies, crazy desserts between us so we could see what the range was and how well they did them. All was perfect. They also have an impressive wine menu, definitely worth a glass or two if you're not driving home. Price wise wasn't as terribly expensive as we imagined, if one complains about pricing, go eat at decent restaurants! But here you get top class quality so it is worth the price. Either way, we know the next time we're in town, we'll be back for sure.

Yelp
Had my 50th birtthday dinner here with girlfriend Bee, and a horde of British and American sales guys who were taking up most of the front room. First off, NICE venue with a real feel for history to it. Yes, this is his actual home or was one of them. I wandered afield of the upstairs restrooms (go to the restroom if only to see how this exceptional piece of 15th century architecture is put together) and blundered into an office where a cheery lady who spoke perfect English regaled me with a short-story of the house's history. Exposed beams, brass fittings embedded in walls - you've got to be there to get it. For the history of the building, you can go to the restaurant's site (in French): http://www.auberge-nicolas-flamel.fr/Histoire.php The food we had was wonderful. I opted for the Menu Prestige & started with the scallops, and they were perfectly done. You could tell that Chef Alan Geaam was stretching for something beyond the usual and was meeting with success. Tender, succulent & melting on the tongue. Scallop perfection. Sole meunière was my second course and after notifying the waiter I was allergic to wheat, they gladly agreed not to batter the sole. It too was tender and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I can't say anything more, it was just plain excellent. I got this dish partially for the crayfish risotto that came with it and oh my god, was it good! Chunks of crayfish steaming and barely well cooked, still tender and slightly gelatinous, yet the risotto bore definite traces of having been cooked in an expertly made court bouillon as the flavor of the crayfish permeated each grain of rice which were creamy, well coated and excellently well cooked without being starchy or stodgy. Again, perfection. My girlfriend Bee got the Menu Gourmand and was similarly delighted. I looked through the desserts but none had gluten-freedom so I asked for, and got a portion of the violet sorbet that went with Bee's chocolate lava cake. (she reports orgasmicness) and a few strawberries. Bee must have told them it was my birthday while she was waiting for me, because the waiter came out of the kitchen with the sorbet and fruit on a plate, in the middle of which was the hugest giant sparkler I'd ever seen - all lit and fizzing away. What a surprise! And the sorbet was every bit as good as I thought it would be. We lazed about the table eating, talking, drinking and having a fun time, opening the surprise presents Bee brought me (so nice!) until it was kicking out time. I loved my entire experience at Auberge Nicolas Flamel, and though the pricetag is quite steep, it was worth every sou. Bravo!

Yelp
Auberge Nicolas Flamel is a romantic candlelit restaurant in the oldest house in Paris, dating back to 1407. The house is beautiful and feels so old, and we were able to walk in without a reservation, although it was on a quiet Sunday night. This feels like a special occasion restaurant, but we also felt quite cozy and comfortable. By the time we arrived, around 8pm, they were already out of the 7-hour lamb, unfortunately, so we opted to get a steak with a vanilla/celery puree. I never though vanilla and celery would pair so well, but it was brilliant. This was one of my favorite memories of our trip to Paris.

Yelp
I brought my partner here for his 55th BIrthday dinner. I thought it would be fun to eat in the oldest restaurant in Paris. Since 1407! This cute inviting, cozy space lives up to the good reviews. A fresh candle awaits you at your table and is immediately lit. The room has a quintessential old inn feel to it. The menu has descriptions in English in addition to the French. I started with sweetbreads. They were lightly floured and sautéed, served beside a crepe made into a bowl, holding tagliatelle of carrot & zucchini. They were perfectly cooked and delicious, but both the coating and the truffle sauce were a bit aggressively salted. My partner stared with the calamari and while delicious were also a bit aggressively salted. I continued with the lobster and gnocchi. The perfectly cooked lobster was accompanied by gnocchi in a what they call a bisque. The sauce reminded me of a creole sauce. Very good. My partner had the turbot with morel sauce and a crawfish risotto. Both were outstanding. Auberge Nicolas Flamel is a good special occasion spot. It's cozy and romantic, with a lot of history. The staff and service was perfect. Reservations are available online too via BookATable.com. That's a big plus if you're afraid to call and practice your French.

Yelp
We spent our 5th year anniversary in Paris and had our dinner here for our special day. We arrived for our reservation and was seated promptly at the table by the window. From the moment we walked in, we were treated very warmly by all the staff. The service was spot on and never felt rushed or too slow. We enjoyed a nice bottle of French wine that was recommended by the server. All the courses were beautifully decorated and the portions were just right. This was one of our last meals in Paris and it left a great impression. We will be sure to come back when we return to Paris.

Yelp
I have no idea why this place has such a good reputation (especially with tourists). Maybe it's the over-the-top theme park-esque "be our guest" flourishes like dramatically uncovering the dish from under a silver dome (whatever those are called) or giving you the bill in a little treasure chest, which seems appropriate given the prices. Is it the "oldest house" thing? The alchemy reference (or, Harry Potter reference if you prefer)? It can't possibly be the food. There are hundreds of better choices out there.

Yelp
This is one of the oldest house in Paris. One of the few places that can related to Harry Potter.

Yelp
What a wonderful meal we had in this rustic buliding, the oldest standing stone building in Paris. Langoustine en raviolis, "patate douce et émulsion de têtes parfumées" were sampled and delicious. All dishes were carefully and delightfully prepared,. Wait staff was attentive but not intrusive. We loved this restaurant.

Yelp
We also decided to try this spot because of an interest in all things Harry Potter. And, truly, for that alone it was worth the visit. My husband and I came here for our final night "send-off" in Paris and decided to try the 7 course Formule menu. Holy smokes was it ever good! But by the end we were absolutely stuffed, especially since every table gets a small starter, which we didn't know. So we actually ended up with 8 courses plus olives on the table to start, bread throughout dinner, and what looked like homemade sweets with the bill. Still, it's worth a try if your goal is to sample a lot of great French cooking, and I liked not knowing what the next course would bring. If 7 is too many for you, they also have a 5 course Formule. We arrived at around 7:30 and stayed until 11:00. We loved the atmosphere, but keep in mind that people eat a lot later in Paris so if you start your meal before 9 or 10 you will likely be surrounded by tourists. The locals started to arrived by 8:30, as far as we could tell. I speak French but two of our three servers spoke excellent English and they gave us English menus - even knowing some French, menus are often hard to understand because there are so many culinary terms... So, this was great. Their lunch formules also looked inexpensive and tasty. All in all, great (authentic) food, great (especially friendly) service, and great (late night) atmosphere.

Yelp
Four of us ate here at the suggestion of a friend who is a resident of the 3rd Arr. It was an excellent meal, quite French. But presented with a menu in English and the waiter spoke English very well. The veal was excellent, and the Cod was good, cooked with a corn meal topping (french grits?). In any case it was really good. Appetizers and deserts were multiple and delicious. Did I mention that this is the oldest building in Paris? 1407! I highly recommend this restaurant

Yelp
My family just had a very enjoyable lunch here. The menus give some interesting history about Nicolas Flamel, and the historic building (oldest house in Paris) has a great atmosphere. Three of us ordered the prix fixe lunch (23 euros), our daughter got the Harry Potter prix fixe children's menu, and I ordered the 63* Egg entree as my meal. The servers were very friendly and knowledgeable. They brought us a complimentary entree of watermelon gazpacho and a chicken croquette (tiny but delicious). Through the meal we also received three different types of bread, and afterwards we were brought a small plate of complimentary biscuits. They obviously take great pride in the preparation and presentation of their dishes - everything looked beautiful and tasted delicious. They also take to heart the "alchemist" theme and create interesting flavor combinations, such as the Sphere dessert which is a basil sorbet surrounded by strawberries and a chocolate shell. Definitely recommended!

Yelp
Excellent, small French restaurant offering both ala carte and fixed price dining options. The building was once home to Nicolas Flamel, a real-life alchemist from the 15th century. Although an earlier review said there is no name/sign on the building, when I went there I found both a sign and a posted menu. A bit pricey but if you'd like a quality meal in an intimate setting, this establishment will see your needs are well-met.

Yelp
Grilled foi gras was excellent, however some thin crusty bread would have made it better to eat.

Yelp
This was our absolute best meal in Paris. The service was impeccable and the food beyond comprehension. I wish we had eaten here sooner in our trip so we could have come here again. It was an experience I will never forget. It also ended up being one of our cheaper Paris meals. Staff spoke English and menus were in English as well. The only restaurant in Paris where the staff actually had a conversation with us. It was amazing.

Yelp
Easily the best meal we've had in Paris. The service was theatre and the food was incredible. A great ambience but not so loud you couldn't easily talk. We will be back!

Yelp
Absolutely incredible. Dish after dish was amazing. It was literally the perfect meal. Totally worth going to. You won't regret it. One of the best meals I have ever had. Amazing staff, amazing food that brings your taste buds to life.

Yelp
The oldest house in Paris. We're Harry Potter diehards and thought it was worth a try. It was truly amazing. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. Two amuse-bouches, one of which was a pumpkin or squash-type soup with ham-flavored whipped topping. Really? We were stunned. They had two different prix fixe menus, so for the two of us we could each try the other's food. Well worth it and we were so happy to have found it.
