Auberge Pyrénées Cévennes

"Chef Pierre Négrevergne is really flourishing in this house that is over 100 years old. He delights diners with his tasty "grandmother's" cooking, which highlights French gastronomic heritage (home-made terrine, blanquette de veau à l'ancienne and grilled rice, millefeuille), served in generous portions. It is still a treat to eat here." - Michelin Inspector

Went for dinner and had the fixed menu with 3 dishes. Had the cheese plate in the beginning - it was very good. Steak as main entree was probably not a good choice. Others likes their dishes. Wine list is large and the server was helpful with picking out bottles.

That's a good example of how service can kill the cook's result....I believe that all the waiters should have a bit of training on basic things like how to welcome the guests, how to open a bottle of wine and most of all how important is to give the right information. We asked the waitress if we were going to pay extra because the price of the menu was cheaper than the price of the main course itself, and the answer was no, everything is included in the price of 39 euros. In the end, we had an extra amount of money that we had to pay in the bill ( a plus 22E in total ), as you can see on the receipt. The sound of the wine corks in all over the restaurant was embarrassing, and the fact also that they almost put the corks inside their noses after opening every bottle. I could also suggest that they should show the label to the client before. The atmosphere had some issues that made our visit unpleasant as well. A heavy smell of mold in all over the building can be understood if you consider the fact that the building is so old, but I think that is too much for a restaurant. Our clothes also brought that smell from the sale to our house. Although it could be a four star review because the kitchen almost saved our night with this pate en croutte and of course this amazing cassoulet...bravo!!! 👏 I was a little bit more disappointed also from the kitchen because the deserts that looked great were tasty but not fresh at all.

Google
One of the best restaurant I’ve tried. The lunch set is just €29 for 2 course which is quite affordable in Paris. Highly recommend the risotto with tiger prawn, the favour is well-balanced and the foam add a special texture to the mouth. The Mille-feuille is simply amazing and a must have.

Google
The forth time in this place and I have yet to finish the cassoulet (the portion is enormous). I enjoy this rustic restaurant a lot. Great ambience and superb food. In my opinion, the cassoulet last night was not as good as what I used to have (still a great dish after all). First time ordering the sweetbread and it was done exceptionally well. I will get back to training and be back to finish the cassoulet someday!

I asked for sparkling water and the waiter gave me 3 options, since I am not familiar with the french water brands I asked him to choose for us and he probably chose the most expensive, I mean 12€ for a bottle of water is ridiculous. He should have informed me on the prices. Then we ordered 500ml of red wine which they charged for 38€ but the wine was very bad in taste, very average cheap wine without label, moreover the next day I had severe hangover. The food in general is ok but I felt as they did not treat as well, they only care about charging more. I will not visit this restaurant again.

Google
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The dishes were very tasty and the portions generous. We particularly enjoyed the cassoulet although weren’t able to finish it all. Highly recommended.

Google
Delicious French regional food. Atmosphere perfect. Waiters friendly but seemed to struggle to deal with the amount of diners. Waited a long time for our desserts, then they brought the wrong ones out. Not a big problem though. Cassoulet was delicious, mushroom starter too. Tarte tatin my favourite.

Google
I still find myself astonished as I write this review by the quality of the cuisine in relation to the substantial bill I received for my solo dining experience, particularly noting that it did not include any wine. The Cassoulet, touted as their special, left much to be desired in terms of flavor and seasoning. It essentially comprised a pot of pinto beans and meat, which, given its price point of €36, raises questions about the culinary expertise behind its creation of blandness. One might wonder whether the chefs responsible have had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the art of gastronomy. Proceeding to the appetizer, the Pate lacked the expected depth of taste, and the dough crust appeared noticeably aged and dry probably because it’s been in the fridge for a while. The dessert, a Paris Brest, suffered from an excess of sweetness, primarily attributed to an overly generous application of caramel sauce. What compounded my dining experience was the waiter’s inquiry regarding leaving a tip upon settling the bill. This even conflicted with the establishment’s menu, which clearly states that the gratuity is already included in the exorbitant pricing structure.

Yelp
Auberge I love you. What an amazing experience. This is as authentic as it gets - chef driven Sud Oust cuisine and a wine list that blew my mind. As part of my CASSOULET EVERY DAY mission, I was so pleased with the massive, classic country cassoulet. The portion was quite large - enough to share for two and still be quite full. The duck breast was especially tender and delicious. For wine, a 2004 Cahors only set us back €100, an amazing value for an incredible vintage. Also had a lovely Bordeaux and tried some of the very special Chartreuse bottlings on offer. The wait staff made us feel at home and were very attentive. The restaurant itself is homey and charming, with an old world vibe only France can offer. I will be back!

Yelp
I had the pate en croute and the cassoulet. Both were delicious, but I especially enjoyed the cassoulet. All the meat was extremely tender, and the beans were porky and creamy but still had a bite.

Yelp
The French pie (PÂTÉ-CROÛTE AU CANARD ET FOIE GRAS) was good, I don't think I'm the biggest fan of pate. I thought the best tasting parts were the top and bottom where crust was the thickest. The combination of the crust and pate was very good. However, the pate by itself wasn't tasty enough so the side parts of the bread were the weakest parts of the dish. I likely wouldn't order it again but if someone wanted to split it, I wouldn't be completely opposed as long as they let me have the parts with the most crust. The veal stew (BLANQUETTE DE VEAU À L'ANCIENNE, RIZ BASMATI GRILLÉ) was good enough to order again. I wouldn't say it was phenomenal but the stew was creamy and tasted good enough that it worked well with the rice. The veal was very tender and easily fell apart without a knife. There were a couple pieces of fat on my veal but other than that it was great. The crispies on the rice really elevated the meal. They added a satisfying crunch to eating the rice. I would consider ordering it again, although it wasn't good enough for me to order it over trying something new. The 1000 puff pastry (MILLE FEUILLE À LA VANILLE DE MADAGASCAR ET CARAMEL AU BEURRE SALÉ) was underwhelming. I think it could've used more caramel. The cream alternating with pastry was alright. I felt like it just didn't go far enough as a dessert. I wouldn't order it again. One thing that was absolutely phenomenal was the wine I had. I love Rhone Valley red wines and the AOP Côte-Rôtie 2020 Domaine Yves Cuilleron, Bonnivières hit it out of the park. The wine was so good I went to buy a bottle immediately after dinner. It was tough not to order another glass but at 20 €, I had to exercise restraint. I will likely return to Auberge Pyrénées Cévennes although the food wasn't phenomenal enough to guarantee I come back this trip. I struggled with what to rate this place and it ultimately came down to whether I would jump at the chance to come back here or if I would want to show someone this restaurant. If a friend asked me about Auberge Pyrénées Cévennes, I would recommend they try it, but I wouldn't offer to go with them. This was ultimately the deciding factor on whether to rate them 4 or 5 stars.

Yelp
Food is just not very good. Probably worst meal I had in Paris. It lacks flavor and I feel bad for visitors who might seek the place for traditional French cuisine. The French can do so much better than that. I ordered the snails to start that was bland and I think was missing garlic or something. The cassoulet was my main and it lacked flavor. It almost was like they cooked all the components separately and combined it last minute. The cheese desert was cold. I have no idea how this place made it to the Michelin guide.

Yelp
I came here with my fiance and his family while visiting Paris. We all went in on the tasting menu which was absolutely fantastic. There was not a bad course from start to finish, and the duck was exquisite. If I come out here again, I will get the cassoulet, because it looked amazing. I always leave a disclaimer that the service does not contribute to my ratings because there are so many factors that go into the timeliness and end to end service of a meal. Having said that, the wait staff was absolutely amazing and incredibly attentive. They were very accommodating of our large group, and the fact that the majority of us do not know French (thank you for that). We found ourselves as the last party in the restaurant and I was personally worried we were overstaying our welcome as it was late and I'm sure the staff wanted to get out of there. They were very nice about us being there past closing, and even served us complimentary champagne because we were in France for our wedding. A few call outs about this wonderful restaurant if you choose to make a reservation. The portions are huge (not just the tasting menu, but everything), so if you think you're ordering too much, you probably are. The menu is also all in French, so if you do not speak the language, you'll need to phone a friend on this one. It's also very meat heavy, so this is not a great option for the vegetarians out there.

Yelp
We decided to come here because we had been recommended to it from our son. We ordered the fixed price. The portions were very generous. The escargots were very good. I ordered the rice and prawns which were very good and my husband ordered the cassoulet which was large and rib sticking but not very seasoned. The desserts were good - not great. What was most disappointing was the seating and the service. I tried to speak French as I know a little but everyone was rushed and unfriendly. I sat looking at the back of a microwave. We waited and waited and then thought perhaps we needed to go to the bar to pay our check as we saw others go but the waiter yelled at us for being in the way. No one ever came to check on us or offer another glass of wine or anything even a little bit like they cared. I was hoping for the friendly service others have described but I was disappointed.

Yelp
On a mission to indulge in classic French cuisine, the wife and I decided to try cassoulet here at Auberge Pyrénées. We'd read good things about this spot and especially about their cassoulet. We booked a reservation and when we arrived were seated, only after the waiter hunted and searched though the restaurant for an additional chair. The service was horrible. There were only two servers, rubbing about frantically. I actually saw the female server RUN numerous times it was so busy. Once we were seated we waited about 15 minutes before the server was free enough to take our order. We ordered to menu, the wife got snails for the started, and I got the pâté en croûte. For the main dish we both went with cassoulet. We booked some "Instant Michelin" menu on The Fork, which happened to come with a glass of wine as well. My wife ordered a kir and I ordered a Chartreuse. Then it really went downhill... The waiter, who spoke to me like I was a fool when I ordered, brought my wife's kir and me a glass of wine. When I asked about the chartreuse, he didn't seem to understand and he made the other server come over and clarify. She clarified the variety of chartreuse, and it came a few minutes later. When the starter arrived I was pretty happy. The snails were good and so was the pâté. They weren't anything mind-blowing, but yeah, they were good. I did take about 45 minutes before the food showed up though. When the cassoulet finally came out, it looked amazing. There was a pork rib in there, a duck leg, a sausage, beans... Huge portion size. I was super excited, but honestly it was pretty bland. I thought the duck leg was dry and it was just a hearty, tasteless slop with a couple chunks of meat in there. For dessert the wife ordered the tarte tatin, and I got the prunes in Armagnac. Only to find out, about five minutes later, they were out of the tarte tatin. We decided to order the Napoleon instead. The Napoleon was fine. Again, nothing amazing... But the prunes... Christ. What a travesty. The tasted like the prunes you can get for 2€ in plastic tubs in carrefour, and seems to have been soaking for no longer than 15 minutes. It was bad. At that point, we didn't even really want dessert, but we had ordered the menu and figured we'd at least try it. The service and the frantic servers really took away from any sort of ambience. They never asked us about the food, the never took the time to do anything, and they silently brought and collected our plates. Don't go here. Really. If you've looking for cassoulet... I don't know, maybe reevaluate and look somewhere else. Don't pay 100+€ for a meal of disappointment.

Yelp
Classic French food for locals fit the bill for a solid meal. Food: 4, Atmosphere: 4, Service: 4 Cost to worth it rating: 3 Return worthiness: sure Eve award: best esgargot Highlights: - Escargot: arrived sizzling in a traditional escargot plate with 6 holes. Out of the shell, perfect texture, and bathing in garlic buttery parsley goodness. Perfect - Duck: hearty slices in a decadent light brown sauce. Order it as it comes as she asked me if I'd like it medium but it was more cooked than I anticipated with no pink. Comes with a huge side - Rib eye steak: cooked nicely with just a bit of salt. 4 stars - Cheesy ravioli: in a bowl of thick creamy cheese sauce. 3.5 stars - Veal head: brain, tongue, and cheek. Not for me but my Frenchman was super excited for it. - Creme brule: Classic sugary crust and custard - Tart tatin: slice of soft sugary apples - Service: friendly Midlights: - Needed my French friend to translate the menu ;-) - Veal liver: most popular item on the menu apparently but I didn't care for the texture Lowlights: - Not for those on a diet with the rich food and American sized portions Traditional French meal was a fun experience for our first night in Paris.

Yelp
This was a terrific dinner Ning experience ! A must if you are in Paris topical country French meal. Best cassoulet ever, more meat that I was expecting a wonderful tasty treat. Service was beyond expectations.

Yelp
And this is where I fell deeply in love with cassoulet. Cute place. Warm hospitality despite showing up on the early side. Nice people. Very good terrine. But the cassoulet. Oh Em Gee. It was warm, soulful, loving and amazing. The flavors all combined to form something greater than itself. In the most amazing way. Maybe it's the beans that they simmer it all in that creates the experience. Whatever it was made me a fan. And the portion size was unreal. I'm 6'2, 220 and can put away a lot of food. I ate at least a pound and a half of the cassoulet and there was plenty more that I couldn't finish. And when I was done there was still a cheese course that I could only glance at.

Yelp
Oh my, what a delicious dinner! They have a dinner special where you can order 3 courses for 31 euros. I started with the lentils and they were so soft and deliciously vinegary. I honestly wasn't even that hungry after finishing the first course, that's how big it was. Onto the main. I ordered salmon that came with some delicious greens and potatoes. The potatoes didn't get any love since i practically ate a whole baguette with the lentils, but the salmon was so nice with the white sauce provided. The portion was huge! I could only finish half since I wanted to save room for dessert. Lastly came the creme brûlée and it was devine. The pinot noir was also amazing. Only downside is that service became really slow after my main course was brought out. I do enjoy taking my time eating, but having dinner alone gets super awkward after a while so I wanted to wrap it up. Extremely friendly staff and they have English menus for you non French speakers. Give it a go!

Yelp
This place used to be good. Maybe the chef changed or maybe they are getting careless but something was off. They do have a nice cassoulet worth trying. But everything else was a bit bland. Also the salmon was over cooked. The pate seemed off. This is rustic Pyrenees cuisine. Very old school vibe. Hmmm...maybe they are just having an off period.

Yelp
We made two attempts to eat here. The first time (Saturday night) we showed up with no reservation and were turned away, since it was full. But the next day we made a reservation for another night. The day we ate there (Monday), we were the first to be seated. By the time we left the place was packed (again). We did notice that the crowd was very different. I heard only French being spoken the first time we visited. But the night we ate there, lots of American English! Go figure!! Anyways, the food was great and it's a family run place, so it has a cozy vibe. Everyone that reviewed it said the portions are big, and they're weren't exaggerating. It was a lot of food. for more details on my Paris trip and food checkout wp.me/p7IPNM-KV

Yelp
This is just a great little find if there ever was one! The food is great, the waitstaff are extremely competent and friendly and the atmosphere, although perhaps not renovated in decades, will certainly transport you to a Paris of which you have probably dreamed. As always, though, my reviews center around the food. I found it to be quite good here. I had the "Menu", which includes 3 courses for just around 35€. I highly recommend the Menu, as it is really a great buy. The veal was great quality, and the Salad with bacon pieces was also quite good. I found the crème brulée good, although the sugar on top was had not melted enough to create that glassy sheen. Nonetheless, though, for the price et al., it was a home-run.

Yelp
We were looking for great Cassoulet and this place kept being mentioned so we had to try! It was outstanding!! We loved the atmosphere of this restaurant as well, seemed like a locals favorite as there were two families there celebrating birthdays that night. We were started off with a jar of baby gherkins, which was a delight! I had the deviled eggs as an appetizer which was fabulous! My husband ordered a side of rice with his cassoulet because he didn't realize how generous the portions are. Our waitress actually looked at him and said "This is your first time here, no?" We were all cracking up and the rice remained untouched. :-) Please go, and stuff yourself silly with delicious French food here!

Yelp
oh, the cassoulet... actually, everything was excellent, from the frisee salad covered in large chunks of lardons to the tarte tatin with it's side of dense cream. also, the service was excellent.

Karen M.

Yelp
We loved this restaurant! The food was unerringly delicious and the service discreet. The 3 course price fix menu offered 8-10 options per course and truly each plate could have served two or more people. As appetizers we chose the homemade pate and the cured meats and sausage plates. I had the cassoulet which included four types of meat-amazing! My husband had a fried liver dish which he consumed completely. He really enjoyed it. For dessert we had profiteroles and flan, both prepared beautifully. The waiter recommended a lovely wine to complement the meal. All in all it was our favorite meal in Paris!

Yelp
A husband chef / wife waitress run palace of southwest French cuisine. If the meats hanging from the ceiling or the dead animals on the walls do not tell you enough, this places is a mecca for the OFFAL scene. (Offal is a staple of the cuisine.) It was a great. For the non-French speaking, English was not an issue here. PS, given the location, if you are not using the metro, have the place call you a taxi. Although off the beaten path, the 30 euro prix fixe menu is worth the trek. We (2 of us) had the following: Starters: Pork charcuterie -- a sample of five different cuts from the pig. Each was better than next, with the huge chunks of fat plugging up the meat and bringing a power-packed punch of flavor. Omelet -- a wonderful dish of softly scrambled eggs mixed with tomatoes and meat. I could not eat this fast enough. A great amount of flavor but each working uniquely but in combination with the others. Mains: Cassoulet -- the southwest France staple that basically is a a tremendous pot of warmth and soul. The dish is famous here and the reputation is well-deserved. The casserole comes with sausage, pork, and a large portion of dark meat from fowl, all smothered in white beans. This dish would rival chicken soup as the dish you want to cure your sniffles. I could not eat enough of this dish. Pork feet -- a large plate of three pork legs all breaded and fried. This dish is not for the faint of heart. This dish is heavy in fat, tendons, and other parts many may not eat. But for the brave of heart, you will be rewarded. Desserts: Profiteroles -- I never had a chance to taste them as the non-chocolate dessert eater who ordered the dish did not even give me a chance to sample. That should say enough. Tart tartin -- an apple pie of sorts served with a huge bowl of clotted cream. just so good. A perfect way to end the meal. As an FYI, this place offered the largest assortment of desserts I saw the entire time in Paris from an prix fixe menu. They had may 8-10 desserts on the menu, which will surely offer something to please everyone.

Yelp
The restaurant is actual Lyonnaise and not Parisian. It's a casual dining experience. Traveling to Paris with 2 kids under the age of 4 was not easy when it came to dinner time, however this place was perfect. Auberge was relatively loud so even when our kids became a bit boisterous no one noticed. The cassoulet, aside from being absolutely delicious, also turned out to be extremely kid friendly. My wife and I also loved it and big portions meant we had lunch for the kids on another day. Ok enough about the kids. Cassoulet is a meat and bean stew if your unfamiliar. Its thick, creamy, earthy and loaded with pork, duck and sausage. This was my first time having the dish so I can't back up any of the "best ever" claims. But I can't see how it could be improved much. Like most of France this place knows how to prepare potatoes, in numerous ways, each more spectacular than the next. The classic dish of smoked herring and potatoes is immaculately done here. The potatoes reminded me of a dry, vinegary potato salad similar to that which you'd get in Germany, only more refined. The sweetbreads fricassee was served with perfectly cooked and seasoned roasted potatoes brought table side in a copper french frying pan. The sweetbreads were huge and served in a rich buttery white wine sauce with mushrooms. The escargot were pretty standard served out of shell in their own perfect sized individual clay pots. I'd definitely return, with or without kids.

Yelp
My husband and I went here with a big group of friends (some live in Paris and some don't), and we were all wowed. The restaurant is cheery--and feels like you're in the country and not Paris. The staff is very friendly. The menu is classic. The patrons, besides most of us, were all French. When our meals came, the food was served in big portions and delicious! The cassoulet, which four of us had ordered, was in a copper pan bigger than I'd ever seen cassoulet served in anywhere. It was charming as all get out. I knew they had to have doggie bags, which is rare in France, because no one could eat this much. They did. This is a wonderful spot for those who like rustic places with a classic French feel.

Yelp
Best meal I ever had. The roast duck came out in a pot, served table side with the best bean bisque ever. the salad was unreal with a poached egg and chunks of bacon. My fiance's steak was out of this world. Will go back as many times as I can in my lifetime!

Yelp
Talk about service! This restaurant has the best waitstaff in Paris, hands down. You could tell the people greeting us and serving our food love what they do. More importantly (especially in France), the food was fantastic. Traditional, tasty, and unexpectedly huge portions. I managed to get down half my goose leg confit, which I'm glad I now know exists, and my boyfriend only got halfway through his cassoulet. Both reheated well the next day. The wine was amazing and fairly priced. My only complaint is that this place is lit like it's broad daylight. I guess they really want you to be able to read the menu, which is also available in English. We will definitely return on our next visit.
google avatar

Mai-O-Licious N.

Yelp
I like the sauce in the escargot. The duck confit was good, I don't have anything else to compare it to. I didn't really like the service.

Dev W.

Yelp
Something out of the ordinary for Paris- obscenely large portions. There were four of us and we each ordered a starter. Everything was great. For our entrees, 2 of us had the cassoulet. AMAZING. Large pieces of duck, rabbit, and sausage surrounded by a white beany heaven. One of my co-diners ordered a salad (she had over-indulged the previous day) and even that was outstanding. I was so high on my cassoulet that I can't remember what the 4th person ordered. We foolishly ordered dessert and ate every morsel. Atmosphere was warm and inviting and every time someone ordered the cassoulet, the staff would kind of chant it....very funny and engaging. I watched a server sit down with someone and go over every menu item. You would never see this in an US restaurant. Just a great experience. I only gave them 4 stars since the food is so good but portions are so large that we tortured ourselves to nearly eat it all. We then walked the 1 mile back to our apartment to ease the guilt. PS. The (former) President of France, Hollande, dines here.

Kortney M.

Yelp
Very tasty food, friendly service, great wine list. We walked into the restaurant without a reservation and were sat immediately. The giant pot of cassoulet was pretty much the first thing I saw and I was pumped! Large tour groups and tourists filled the dining room which made me feel somewhat comfortable about our dining experience. If tour groups continuously come back you know the food is good, the prices are fair, and its a great dissection of Paris. We ordered the Foie with balsamic, escargot, duck breast, cassoulet, and dessert. The food was good, it was classic southern french cuisine, nothing insanely mind blowing but amazingly executed food all around.

Yelp
You know those meals where the next day you can hardly recall what you or your company ate let alone how it tasted? And then do you know those meals where every flavor from each dish lingers for weeks or months after? This was one of those meals. Not only was this my favorite meal in France (so far), it was one of my favorite meals, period. To start, got a recommendation for this place, went with my mom and dad who were visiting me at the time. From the outside it looks non-descript, from the inside the it is very friendly and open with a yellow glow, dried meats hang from the wooden ceiling vaults and the décor is of ugly flower patterns. It all adds to the ambience of the place. There is a fixed price meal and a normal menu. The fixed price is good to save a dime and get their classic bohemian dishes, the regular menu is good to get the not so common dishes. My mom and dad each got fixed price, I decided to make it up as I went along. To start we had our incredibly lovely waitress bring us a kraft of the house wine. Nothing special but it fit. For appetizers (entrée): Me: Escargot; classic French with butter, parsley and garlic but served in porcelain bowls. Very good, It came out literally boiling. Snails were fresh, butter parsley and garlic were powerful with flavor and the excess was mopped up with bred by all three of us. Dad: Foie Gras Salad: The Foie gras was very good, house made; I felt like the lettuce did not balance well with the richness of the foie gras. I would have preferred it solo. Mom: Salad with lardons and a poached egg; Amazing, I will only eat salads with pork fat and poached eggs from now on. Served on a bed of fresh baby greens, the smoky saltiness of the lardons and the richness of the egg yoke combined perfectly with the fresh salad greens. Ohh, and the croutons I believe were fried in the pork fat. Overall delicious, don't pass this up, even if you're a vegan Jew. Main courses: Me: Veal Head. Delicious, but I would only advise to the adventurous eater. It was served de-boned, with each type of meat (tongue, cheek, brain, mystery meat) in its own place on the plate, garnished with boiled carrots and potatoes. The cuts were served in different preparations, some seemed baked, others poached and others braised. It was served with a basil/parsley sauce that was superb. It balanced so well with the richness of the dish, I still have its flavor in my mouth while writing this. I was not a fan of the brains, but that could just be me. Dad: Pigs feet, breaded and deep fried; The flavor was intense. The meat fell of the bone and was very rich. It was served with a potato au gratin of sorts. Creamy and delicious. Everything was rich about this dish and a little overwhelming. But cut it with a swig of wine and get back to it. Mom: Cassoulet. Superb! I believe this is what put this place on the map. Rich, creamy, not overbearing in anyway, the various meats were cooked down enough to be cut with a fork. Lots of beans, (dates beware!) which I felt was too much filler, but they were so good on their own that I cannot complain! Overall the best cassoulet I have ever had. You need to try it for yourself. Ample in size to, so bring an appetite or a bucket to bring the leftovers home with you. Dessert / Digestifs Me: Cognac, alas I do not know the name. It was nice, with lots of earthy tones. Finished with some spice. Dad: Sorbet with lemon/lime liquor. Great, sour, refreshing, The alcohol cut through the sourness and sweetness of the dessert. Mom: crème brûlée, Congac. My mother said it was the best crème brûlée she had ever had. It was superb, rich and perfectly brûléed (?) balanced well just like everything else at this restaurant. Cognac was smooth and a little sweet. Overall, great place to eat, the food is great, the service is great, the ambience is great, the décor...well not everything is great. But everything about this place is worth the visit. The food is what I would call gourmet comfort food. They prepare excellent traditional dishes. The menu will not surprise you (well except for the veal head) nor does it need to. Just simply excellent traditional bohemian food at a fair price. Go here and indulge.

Yelp
Lovely country-style place! I had Cassoulet + Escargot and can confidently call this one of the better meals of my life. Cassoulet is a specialty of theirs and considered the best in town. Truly worth the hike.

Yelp
Great family owned and operated restaurant. Very good and reasonably priced, for Paris.

Yelp
Best service in town. When you get sick of being ignored by rude French servers, this is a breath of fresh air. Fabulous service. The mini ravioli appetizer was amazing. Would return in a heartbeat.

Yelp
Robust cooking This is a real family restaurant with a warm welcome, friendly service and a simple decor with a pleasant atmosphere. The cooking is robust- from a set menu I had Salad nicoise, veal liver and a very different cheese. With a bottle of wine and two coffeees the bill came to 80 Euros for 2 people. Be warned that the portions are extremely generous !

Yelp
We had a wonderful dinner at Auberge Pyrenees tonight! What a lucky discovery to have this great place right next door to the rental apartment we're staying in! The goose confit was amazing, as was the salmon bernaise, with an amazing wine from the cote d'azur. And the tarte tartin topped the meal off to a beautiful finish. Yum
