Audrey's

"This bright, fresh and elegant gastronomic jewel, which takes its name from Audrey Hepburn, the legendary star of the film “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, is the fiefdom of chef Rafa Soler. Here, he conjures up highly developed and creative cuisine both in terms of technique and presentation, but which retains a strong connection with the soil, the past and seasonal ingredients. In the words of the chef himself, “we have access here to the full expression of Valencia’s culinary bounty”. Through his tasting menus (Roots, Origin and Farm), the latter vegetarian, discover dishes that exude personality and the soul of the Mediterranean, transforming ingredients with a respect for seasonality and minimum fuss. Standout details include the homemade bread that accompanies the menus and which is baked according to a family recipe (they have a bread oven in the suburban town of Burjassot) and the extra-virgin olive oil that they bottle themselves and which is produced from thousand-year-old trees in Traiguera (Castellón province)." - Michelin Inspector

EDIT: I informed the wait staff I was unhappy (as well as returning dishes uneaten). When I walked out, I told the front of house manager. I wrote a long email to the restaurant expressing my disappointment. All this BEFORE writing this review. Crickets. They only responded AFTER I checked out of the hotel and via this review, not in a personal message and after it was too late to actually resolve the issue. Their response here is performative with real intent to help me I have never been more disappointed in a Michelin star restaurant as I was today. I was really looking forward to this meal while in Southern Spain but actually walked out during the service as I just couldn’t take one more bad dish. Worse, no one seemed concerned that I was taking one bite of a dish and not finishing anything. The waiter asked me once if I liked a dish. I said no. He never asked again or tried to find out why I was unhappy with course after course. There was myself and one other couple. So it was not so busy. Yet the floor manager or even the chef seemed concerned that I did not like the courses. And why did I have issues? So many dishes had a heavy fishy sauce to it. Why cover avocado with a seaweed sauce or overpower a delicate prawn with a thick, fishy sauce that coated your tongue so that was all you could taste? Other dishes, like the potatoes with egg yoke were under seasoned. The final straw was the overcooked, dried out Iberian pork. Frankly, the Iberian pork they served on the hotel buffet was juicier. It was at this point that I just gave up, paid the 200€ bill and walked out. Note: when I cancelled the rest of my meal, again no one wanted to know why. This place obviously dies it’s trade in vacationers and really are not concerned with pleasing the customer so they will return. One positive note: the scallops and mussels…I actually do not like scallops but this dish was well balanced and the only dish I completed and enjoyed.

Amazing to find an excellent Michelin Star restaurant on your doorstep when you’re away on holiday. The service was impeccable, food incredible! Thank you Audrey and team for a memorable evening. We didn’t bring our daughter with us, as she is a very fussy eater. But there were other children happily eating with their parents.

Food was top, complex , high on taste. Just superb ! The wine pairing (80euro) was weak. The wines were way too simple for the complexity and richness of the dishes. The service was fine, but you can't feel the soul of the chef when the waiters serve the dishes.

An enchanting symphony of flavors, Audrey's is nothing short of culinary poetry. Each dish, a delicate masterpiece, sings a tale of passion and expertise. A visit to Audrey's isn't just dining; it's an immersive experience in the sublime art of gastronomy. Elegance in every bite. Bravo!

Terrible service !!! We made an online reservation one week ago for 15:00 what is online absolutely possibly. Arrived at the restaurant and they tell us that the kitchen is closed, one of the waitresses told us. We try to call you this morning but no one pic up the phone. And than he says, Ok than go home . What is absolutely unprofessional and root!!

What a hidden gem Calpe has with this restaurant. Don’t be put out because it is in a hotel; the restaurant has its own entrance, and you do not notice any hotel activity. The chef Rafa Soler got a well-deserved Michelin Star; his tasting menu is filled with local ingredients, presenting them with such grace and subtlety that the technique used by Rafa to develop the dishes disappears in the background, making it a relaxed experience where you don’t find yourself trying to figure out how the dishes were made. He came to greet us at the end and was the calm and humble chef that came across through his preparations. Cannot wait to get back to Calpe next summer to repeat!

Spent a lovely afternoon with the my family in this restaurant. A new way to enjoy Valencian traditional food. High quality products coming from the best ingredients around, with an impeccable presentation, preparation and a superb service. It is not only worth the Michelin star but a must try for Gourmet lovers in Costa Blanca. Well done for the restaurant team!
